The ballot drop box in Point Reyes Station was replaced with a new box that sits closer to the building and has a narrower slit after residents raised concerns about a man poking around and shining a flashlight in the old one. Marin’s registrar of voters, Lynda Roberts, said there was no evidence of tampering. Voters are using Marin's drop boxes heavily: Over 41,000 vote-by-mail ballots have been returned this way. The elections office has accepted over 100,000 of Marin’s 175,220 ballots. Ms. Roberts is expecting a high voter turnout, above 90 percent this year, compared to the 88.9 percent who voted in 2016.
