Park employees moving on

Three park employees have or are about to depart Point Reyes National Seashore: John DiGregoria, the current range ecologist; Bill Shook, a planning and IT specialist; and Harold Geritz, a longtime equestrian manager at the Morgan Horse Ranch. Shook and Geritz are both retiring after long tenures; Shook previously served as a range ecologist and Geritz has worked at the seashore for nearly three decades. DiGregoria’s leave last Friday was less expected. “I don’t know where he’s going,” said seashore spokesman, John Dell’Osso. “I think, maybe, he’s going to do some writing.” He added that filling the positions would take time—likely two to three months—and was particularly of the essence with regards to the range ecologist, who works with ranchers in the park on a daily basis. “In the interim we’ll probably have someone doing that work,” Dell’Osso said. “It’s not like you can just stop doing it, after all.”
