West Marin Freeskool will sponsor a comprehensive turkey harvesting class on Sunday, November 20 at Gospel Flats Farm, in Bolinas. The course, lasting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will avail participants of the secrets to slaughtering, plucking, eviscerating, brining, curing and cooking their bird. According to the course description, “This process reveals both intriguing anatomy lessons, and the beauty behind sustainably raised meat.” In the end, participants will take home a turkey with accompanying instructions. Participants must be mature, non-violent and respectful, and be able to use a knife with some skill. Eight to 20-pound turkeys will be priced at $7 per pound. Reservations are required.
