The California Coastal Conservancy is helping to fund the county’s first steps in addressing flooding on the north end of the Bolinas Lagoon and restoring the surrounding habitat. A $285,000 grant, approved by supervisors on Tuesday, will cover around half of the cost of construction plans, permit applications and environmental documents relating to the first phase of the open space district’s North End Wetland Enhancement and Sea Level Rise Adaptation Project, which will remove the shortcut at the Bolinas wye, pictured at left. The entire project will cost between $5 million and $10 million.
