TOMALES - Deputies broke up a fight downtown among five men who had been drinking. A Petaluma man, 41, was jailed for public drunkenness but was later released without being formally charged.
POINT REYES STATION - A man told deputies that during a meeting of Farm Bureau directors, another man had threatened several people.
HICKS VALLEY - During a wedding celebration, a man hit and kicked his brother in the face. The assailant was arrested on battery charges.
POINT REYES STATION - A thief stole a cell phone from a woman's car parked at Third Street and Highway 1.
TOMALES - A traveler from Sausalito had a physical fight with his live-in girlfriend while they were at an inn. He was arrested on charges of abusing a cohabitant.
MARSHALL - A burglar broke into a shed by removing the hinges of a door, but there was nothing in the shed, so nothing was taken.
DILLON BEACH - A man told deputies another man had taken items from a locked house trailer. After an investigation, an officer determined the matter was a non-criminal dispute.
TOMALES - The high school principal spotted two 17-year-old boys smoking marijuana in a quarry south of town. The boys were suspended for cutting class. One was cited on charges of possessing a felt marker for writing graffiti, and the other was admonished about drug abuse.
TOMALES - Alerted by a Middle Road resident, a deputy found a Santa Rosa man, 31, staggering down the roadway. The man was jailed for public drunkenness but released without being formally charged.
LAGUNITAS - A man reported a four-wheel-drive vehicle was eastbound with its burglar alarm sounding and lights flashing on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
BOLINAS - A man complained of a drummer playing bongos on Wharf Road at 11 p.m. All was quiet when a deputy arrived. However, a woman complained at 2:30 a.m. of loud drums downtown for the past two hours. All was quiet again when a deputy returned.
DOGTOWN - A woman reported several teenagers were fighting following a three-vehicle collision. All parties were gone when a deputy arrived.
NICASIO - A man on Lucas Valley Road reported hearing gunshots for an hour. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
HICKS VALLEY - A motorist from Marshall reported that a black pickup truck with a camper shell almost ran him off the road.
DILLON BEACH - A woman on Cypress Avenue complained about 15 teenagers with a vehicle stuck in the mud making noise at midnight. The youths were gone when a deputy arrived. An hour later, however, deputies found a group that had been spinning donuts with their cars and playing loud music. The group agreed to keep the music down.
STINSON BEACH - A Belvedere Avenue woman found a disoriented and dehydrated 15-year-old boy in the woods.
SAN GERONIMO - After a man reported seeing a disheveled, suspicious-looking pedestrian, a deputy found the pedestrian and arranged for him to get a ride to San Rafael with an off-duty park ranger.
POINT REYES STATION - A resident complained of loud music at Highway 1 and Ma–ana Way at 7 p.m.
BOLINAS - A merchant reported that a 15-year-old girl had entered her store, threatened her, and slammed the door so hard that items fell down. The problem was abated before a deputy arrived.
DILLON BEACH - Deputies found a keg of beer on Marine View Drive.
INVERNESS - A merchant complained of six males being obnoxious, standing in the middle of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and yelling at cars. The group left before a deputy arrived.
STINSON BEACH - A woman complained about a theater testing its outdoor lights at 9 p.m.
BOLINAS - A man complained about a crowd on the beach with bonfires at 11 p.m. The problem was abated before a deputy arrived, but at midnight, the man called back to complain of another bonfire and loud drums. A deputy contacted the beachgoers, and the fire was extinguished.
DILLON BEACH - A Cliff Street woman complained that 50 cars and recreational vehicles lined up to enter the campground were jamming traffic in town.
WOODACRE - A woman reported receiving threats from another woman, who is her ex-roommate.
WOODACRE - The Improvement Club asked for extra patrols after finding kids in the swimming pool while the club was closed.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman complained of machinery making noise at 3:45 a.m. A deputy determined the noise was coming from a neighbor's hot tub during its cleaning cycle. The cycle should end within half an hour, the officer noted.
MARSHALL - Air Quality Control and county fire officials asked that a deputy stand by while they cited a rancher on charges of illegal burning. However, before the group could assemble, an officer spotted the rancher driving toward Petaluma.
BOLINAS - A Wharf Road woman reported she could hear men shouting at each other. A deputy determined the men were not quarreling but merely having lunch together.
MARSHALL - A man reported loose cows on Highway 1. A deputy contacted the mother of the owner, and she said he was en route to round up the cattle.
KENT RESERVOIR - A man reported two juveniles pushing boulders over the edge of the spillway. A deputy notified Marin Municipal Water District.
KENTFIELD - A woman reported that a Bolinas man took $500 from her home while she was sleeping.
DILLON BEACH - A woman reported that after her father died, a burglar broke into his house trailer on Marine View Drive. The trailer was ransacked of valuables, including nearby two boats.
LAGUNITAS - A woman reported a homeless man was camped near her house, adding that he laughs loudly to himself and stares into his campfire. A deputy told the man to move on.
BOLINAS - A doctor living in Massachusetts reported a "hostile takeover" of a lot he owns in town. He could not identify the culprit but noted, "Someone is growing turnips."
DILLON BEACH - Deputies were notified that a man and his 19-year-old son were creating an angry disturbance. An officer was told that the pair were now separated and "calming down."
STINSON BEACH - A woman complained that a man in his 20s was verbally abusing passersby on Calle del Ribera. Deputies noted the man had been drinking but was not drunk. They told him to "calm down."
FOREST KNOLLS - A man complained of an unattended fire with beer bottles all around it along North Candelero Road. The man put out the fire.
WOODACRE - A woman reported hearing a small child crying for his mother. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
STINSON BEACH - A former restaurant worker was reported to be wandering around town talking to himself. A deputy could not find him.
BOLINAS - An innkeeper placed a man under citizen's arrest on charges of trespassing. When a deputy searched the man, the officer found he was in possession of cocaine and a crack pipe. The man resisted his arrest, the deputy reported.
POINT REYES STATION - After an 18-year-old man was witnessed speeding through town, a deputy arrested him on a warrant for not showing up in court in an earlier case.
STINSON BEACH - A Calle del Pradero man found a box of .38 special bullets around his house.
STINSON BEACH - A 17-year-old Rohnert Park boy reported he and a 19-year-old friend had taken LSD and were on the Matt Davis Trail when the friend became disoriented and talked of suicide. Deputies found the Oakland youth and arrested him on charges of being under the influence of LSD. The 17 year old was taken to Juvenile Probation and turned over to a family member.
MUIR BEACH - A burglar broke into a Napa man's vehicle parked at Green Gulch, stole a compact-disk player, stole jumper cables, and vandalized the vehicle. The burglar also broke into a Walnut Creek man's vehicle, stole golf clubs, stole jumper cables, stole four stereo speakers, and vandalized the vehicle.
POINT REYES STATION - A man on Overlook Road shot an injured deer after conferring with the Humane Society.
POINT REYES STATION - A citizen brought an injured deer to the sheriff's substation. In the substation's parking lot, the deputy shot the deer after conferring with the Humane Society.
MARSHALL - A woman reported an intruder had broken into her house, rummaged through a bedroom, but took nothing.
BOLINAS - Deputies on Wharf Road arrested a man on court warrants. The man was under the influence of LSD, and deputies also charged him with possession of LSD and methamphetamine.
OLEMA - A woman violated a court's restraining order by phoning the man who had sought the order.
BOLINAS - A vandal damaged the wiring of a farmer's irrigation pump.
CHILENO VALLEY - A vandal broke into a man's vehicle, stole property, smashed windows, and flattened a tire.
OLEMA - A man along Highway 1 swung his fist at another man but missed. The first man then grabbed a machete from his truck and brandished it at the second man. The assailant was gone by the time a deputy arrived, but the officer filed a report with the district attorney.
STINSON BEACH - A thief stole a woman's redwood bench from her front yard during the night.
SAN GERONIMO - A woman complained of a vehicle with two occupants on a fire road above the golf course. A deputy could not find the vehicle.
LAGUNITAS - A woman asked for extra patrols around a schoolbus stop. She said older men hang out there and harass students, including her 11-year-old daughter.
SAN GERONIMO - A man reported hearing gunshots for an hour. He said someone might be target shooting in a backyard. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
NATIONAL SEASHORE - A vehicle overturned on Limantour Road. The Highway Patrol arranged for a tow truck, and the Humane Society was called to deal with five dogs from the vehicle.
STINSON BEACH - Deputies received an anonymous complaint about a party with more than 60 guests and loud music on Avenida Olema at 8 p.m. When an officer contacted the hosts, the party was breaking up and the music shut off.
BOLINAS - A citizen reported someone was passed out inside a building on Wharf Road at 2:40 a.m.
POINT REYES STATION - A cabby reported his fare was refusing to pay. A deputy noted the fare was drunk and turned the case over to the Highway Patrol.
INVERNESS PARK - A deputy stood by while a woman removed belongings from her husband's home.
WOODACRE - A Redwood Drive man found a 10-speed bicycle in his driveway and told deputies he had "no idea" who owned it. He later reported the bicycle had "disappeared."
WOODACRE - A Conifer Way woman complained of loud bongo drumming at 9 p.m. A deputy contacted the drummers, who agreed to keep the noise down.
BOLINAS - A merchant complained of a loud crowd of young people around the community center at 10:15 p.m. The merchant later said part of the crowd had moved to a bar. A deputy stuck around town to keep an eye on the crowd.
INVERNESS - An innkeeper complained of four or five drunk people on Chicken Ranch Beach at 10:30 p.m. A deputy noted there had been no other complaints but agreed to drive by.
SAN GERONIMO - A resident reported a sportscar had driven up Redwood Canyon Road at midnight with its lights out. The resident said he could hear two people talking about finding a backpack. A deputy found the backpack and noted it contained "contraband." He questioned juveniles who denied involvement with the backpack.
BOLINAS - A merchant on Wharf Road complained of loud music at 3:15 a.m. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
DILLON BEACH - A woman reported a man had become "abrasive" when told he was trespassing with his vehicle. By the time a deputy arrived, he was gone.
BOLINAS - A boy called 911 from Wharf Road and made obscene comments to sheriff's dispatchers.
POINT REYES STATION - A woman found a Sebastopol resident's wallet at the Dance Palace.
BOLINAS - An anonymous caller on Wharf Road told deputies, "You have gang activity on the street out here. Take care of it." However, the caller hung up without providing any details.
POINT REYES STATION - A rancher reported a vehicle with people in it had parked in her driveway overnight.
FOREST KNOLLS - A man told deputies that a woman, who is already in jail for an unrelated matter, had stolen property from him. He also said she has been calling him from jail and making death threats.
NICASIO - Deputies received a report of a loose cow on Lucas Valley Road at Big Rock. A deputy returned it to its pasture.
LAGUNITAS - A man complained that 20 people were trespassing on his property at the Ink Wells and had parked illegally. A deputy moved them all along "without incident."
BOLINAS - A homeless woman reported a townsman had spit on her and threatened her. Later, a merchant complained that the homeless woman was drunk and refusing to leave. A deputy determined the woman was not drunk, but she agreed to turn in for the night.
FOREST KNOLLS - A Tamal Road woman complained that a man was harassing her yard workers and construction workers.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman on North Sanchez Road complained about loud music at 9:40 p.m. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
INVERNESS PARK - A man on Balboa Avenue reported his estranged wife had broken the windshield of his vehicle with rocks. The wife told deputies she had merely visited his house, when she assumed he'd be away, to pick up some belongings.
INVERNESS - A vandal cut down five small trees at an Elgin Way man's house and shot out three basement windows, possibly with a BB gun. The man estimated the damage at $500.
POINT REYES STATION - A burglar tried to break into the school's snack shop without success but did manage to vandalize a portable toilet.
OLEMA - A Park Service ranger reported his daughter was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, who banged on doors and windows. The ex-boyfriend had been drinking, the ranger said.
BOLINAS - During a dance downtown, a deputy arrested a Napa man on charges of possessing methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a nunchaku weapon. Two youths, 18 and 22, with him were cited for possessing a small amount of marijuana.
INVERNESS - A Corte Madera woman reported losing her backpack on Chicken Ranch Beach. She said it contained her passport, credit cards, and $25. The woman later reported recovering the backpack.
WOODACRE - Deputies received a complaint about loud bongo drums on Castle Rock Road. All was quiet when an officer arrived.
WOODACRE - A woman told deputies that in early March, her fiancˇ had verbally abused her and her child, and had struck her twice.
POINT REYES STATION - A Highway 1 resident reported a thief stole a camera from his parked vehicle a week ago.
BOLINAS - A man reported that two boys were shooting, possibly with BB guns, near Highway 1. A deputy could not find them.
POINT REYES STATION - A deputy found a briefcase belonging to a San Rafael man and reported he would try to return it.
LAGUNITAS - Deputies received two complaints about a loud band playing along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 2 a.m. An officer later reported the problem had been abated.
LAGUNITAS - A resident complained of four men and women swimming nude in San Geronimo Creek. A deputy contacted the four, who "left with no problem."
POINT REYES STATION - A man said his mother took $2,000 worth of stereo equipment from his bedroom.
TOMALES - A woman complained at midnight about neighbors having a party on Middle Road. She said there were a lot of cars, and some of them were being driven recklessly.
FOREST KNOLLS - A man complained about 10 bicyclists riding recklessly in the traffic lanes of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and said such bicyclists are an ongoing problem on weekends.
OLEMA - A citizen found a handgun and turned it over to a deputy.
INVERNESS - A man on Kehoe Way heard three gunshots at 4 p.m.
MARSHALL - When a man was asked to leave the area around a restaurant, he started cursing. However, he left by boat before a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION - An innkeeper inadvertently booked a man into a room already reserved for a couple. When the man didn't answer her knock on his door, she feared he might become belligerent and asked deputies to remove him. An officer, however, determined the man was not in the room. When the man returned to the inn, he was not belligerent and, in fact, agreed to let the couple have the room.
BOLINAS - A man called deputies to report that after drinking in a bar, he couldn't find his vehicle. Officers advised him to check the area and then call 911 if he still couldn't find the vehicle.
WOODACRE - Deputies received a complaint of a pre-graduation party on Railroad Avenue. The caller said there were numerous juveniles drinking and being loud at the party. An officer abated the disturbance.
WOODACRE - A vandal broke the lock off a Crescent Court man's gate.
TOMALES - A woman complained about a mother physically disciplining her child. A deputy determined the mother had committed no crime.
TOMALES - Two people downtown beat up a Tomales High student at lunchtime.
SAN GERONIMO - A woman reported someone littering at the school and dumping trash in its recycling bin.
STINSON BEACH - A homebuilder complained of people trespassing on his construction site. He asked about posting signs and was given advice.
KENT RESERVOIR - Two Lagunitas men became lost while hiking up Shafter Trail toward Bolinas Ridge. They spent a night, which got down to 38 degrees, with only t-shirts and hiking shorts for warmth. The next morning the Sheriff's Mounted Posse, Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team, and Marin Municipal Water District rangers instigated a search. A ranger in a boat located the two and transported them to other rescuers.
POINT REYES STATION - A homeowner on Tomasini Canyon Road reported a squatter had placed a wooden barricade across a break in the home's lengthy hedge and posted a street address for himself. The homeowner said he and a Realtor had found the squatter's tent behind the hedge. Moreover, the homeowner added, the street number posted by the squatter was inaccurate.
POINT REYES STATION - A homeowner along Highway 1 told deputies he could hear suspicious sounds coming from a suitcase left by his son, who is emotionally unstable. A deputy opened the suitcase and found a boombox, which had been left on at low volume.
BOLINAS - A vandal kicked in the passenger's door and side panel of a car, which a man had parked on Terrace Avenue.
LAGUNITAS - Deputies received a report that a woman was experiencing blackouts before even her "first drink."
OLEMA - A merchant complained that a drunken woman in her late 60s was hanging around the front of the merchant's business. A deputy determined the woman was not drunk and arranged for her to get a ride.
NICASIO - A man gave deputies the license-plate number of a truck which, he said, had sped through a school zone. The plate was registered to a La Jolla resident.
LAGUNITAS - A woman in San Francisco called deputies to say she had heard from her 11-year-old son, who was visiting his father, that a homeless man was sitting on the father's porch. She said her son was scared. A deputy could not find the man.
STINSON BEACH - A woman turned in a Fremont man's wallet, which she had found.
STINSON BEACH - A business reported $2,500 missing from its cashbox. The business later called back to say the money had been accounted for.
FOREST KNOLLS - A resident complained of a loud band near Forest Drive at 7 p.m. When a deputy checked, the band was finishing playing.
STINSON BEACH - A woman reported five people had a bonfire on the beach near Calle del Occidente. A deputy contacted the five, and they agreed to put out the fire. Later, the woman reported a second, smaller fire on the beach near the same spot.
SAN GERONIMO - A man at 11 p.m. reported there were nine cars and numerous juveniles near the school. By the time a deputy arrived, the only person left was a juvenile trying to catch a ride home.
DRAKE'S BEACH - A woman at 12:30 a.m. reported a group of people had a fire on the beach and were throwing around furniture on the snack shop's deck.
STINSON BEACH - Deputies received a report of 16 juveniles fighting on the beach at 3:45 a.m. Deputies and Park Service ranger could not find them.
DILLON BEACH - Deputies received a complaint that a parked truck was blocking access to the day beach. A deputy cited the truck.
STINSON BEACH - A man complained that a group of 15 motorcyclists had knocked over a boat in his yard and were harassing him.
LAGUNITAS - A landowner complained that more than 20 juveniles were trespassing at the Ink Wells and jumping off an overhead pipe. A deputy told them to move on.
WOODACRE - A woman reported a confused woman in her 80s was wandering on Carson Road and didn't know where she lived. She said her husband had driven the woman downtown to see if anyone there knew where the woman's home is.
POINT REYES STATION - A woman on Knob Hill Road reported hearing a child crying for help. Firefighters searched for a child in distress but could not find one.
STINSON BEACH - A woman reported that someone in a maroon vehicle had brandished a weapon.
WOODACRE - A contractor putting in a septic tank reported that a vandal had spread nails to damage equipment and people. A deputy determined there had been no vandalism and that there were nails all around the site.
BOLINAS - Deputies received a complaint of three drunken, homeless people on Wharf Road, screaming at passersby and hitting each other. They were gone when an officer arrived.
WOODACRE - After a preschooler placed a bogus 911 call, deputies identified and counseled him.
MILLERTON PARK - A burglar stole a purse from a Tiburon man's parked car.
INVERNESS - A resident of Dublin, Ireland, found a stranger's identification and credit cards on a trail.
BOLINAS - A woman complained that four or five juveniles playing loud music were loitering on Wharf Road at 4:30 p.m. A deputy later reported the problem had been abated.
POINT REYES STATION - A school administrator complained that a homeless woman was harassing children on school grounds. The woman was gone when a deputy arrived.
HICKS VALLEY - A woman asked deputies to do something about a blue-and-white truck that has been dumping garbage along the Marshall-Petaluma Road for the past eight years.
BOLINAS - A man reported hearing three or four gunshots near Kale and Opal roads at 5 p.m. A deputy could not find anyone shooting.
DILLON BEACH - When a camper got drunk, his male companion suggested he go into the companion's tent to rest. However, the companion's girlfriend was in the tent, and the camper allegedly grabbed her genitals, put her hand on his penis, and told her to "get it hard." The woman's objections alerted her boyfriend, who beat up his companion. The companion called deputies to report an assault and was subsequently taken to a hospital. After interviewing the couple, deputies filed a report on the companion with the district attorney.
BOLINAS - Distraught over a divorce, a 30-year-old woman attempted to commit suicide with an overdose of her husband's anti-depressant medication. She was taken to the county crisis unit.
HICKS VALLEY - A deputy driving on Novato Boulevard was rear-ended by a vehicle traveling "at an extremely high rate of speed," he said. The Highway Patrol investigated the collision, and the deputy needed to take the rest of the week off to recuperate.
BOLINAS - After a citizen complained of a reckless driver, a deputy on Mesa Road arrested a motorist on charges of drunk driving.
BOLINAS - A housekeeper asked deputies to check on the welfare of the homeowner, fearing he may have died. A deputy found the homeowner was fine and that there had merely been a miscommunication between him and the housekeeper.
BOLINAS - A homeless man went to sleep on a stranger's porch along Brighton Avenue. Deputies took the 18-year-old man to the county crisis unit "again."
DILLON BEACH - A resident at 1 a.m. heard someone tapping on her bedroom window, saying, "It's the police. We need to talk with you." When her husband went to the door, he found no one. Deputies checked the area without success.
POINT REYES STATION - A burglar broke a window to get into the school's snack shop and stole an unknown amount of snacks.
JEWELL - Deputies contacted a 33-year-old suspect in a harassment case outside the man's house. The man was "uncooperative, intoxicated, and resistive," an officer reported. The man was arrested on charges of public drunkenness and resisting arrest.
DOGTOWN - A school student ran away during a visit to Sausalito's Bay Model. He was later found in Mill Valley and returned to the school.
DILLON BEACH - A burglar stole cash, a checkbook, and tools from a vehicle parked on Oceanview Drive.
STINSON BEACH - A woman complained of receiving three hangup phone calls.
TOMALES - A burglar stole a TV, VCR, and $300 in cash from a trailer home parked along Whitaker Bluff Road.
DILLON BEACH - A burglar stole a spare tire from a vehicle parked on Oceanview Drive.
MARSHALL - A burglar broke the side window of a car and stole airplane log books worth $1,200.
POINT REYES STATION - A burglar stole keys from a car and various items from old vehicles at the dump.
POINT REYES STATION - A burglar broke into a truck parked on Highway 1 and stole $2,400 worth of electrical equipment.
POINT REYES STATION - A man told deputies another man had tried to run him off the road.
POINT REYES STATION - A man lost a cellular phone downtown.
MARSHALL - A car ran into a tree near Millerton Point, but no one was injured.
OLEMA - After the Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle downtown, an officer told deputies the driver might be growing marijuana near Five Brooks. Deputies notified the Park Service.
SAN GERONIMO - Deputies received a report of an older man hitchhiking and walking into traffic at Nicasio Valley Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The man was gone when a deputy arrived.
BOLINAS - A businessman complained of five or six teens drinking alcohol on Wharf Road. A deputy could not find them.
SAN GERONIMO - In separate incidents, two men were arrested at San Geronimo Valley Drive and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard on drug charges.
NICASIO - Deputies received a report of loose cows on the road near Big Rock. Officers contacted the probable owner.
STINSON BEACH - A man reported being threatened by a Bolinas resident. A deputy gave the man advice.
FOREST KNOLLS - A resident reported that a homeless man, who had been camping under a blue tarpaulin on East Cintura Avenue, appeared to be enlarging his campsite. A deputy advised the man to vacate the encampment.
POINT REYES STATION - A deputy helped a Highway Patrolman locate a stolen car on Highway 1.
WOODACRE - A car ran into a ditch near the intersection of San Geronimo Valley Drive and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. No one was injured.
FOREST KNOLLS - A man reported the 800 number for his home office is being used fraudulently. A deputy gave him advice.
BOLINAS - Deputies received numerous complaints about a homeless woman. After one man told an officer she was harassing him, the deputy told her to move along.
DILLON BEACH - A burglar stole a $1,200 video camera from a woman's car.
WOODACRE - A woman called deputies after finding her carpet pulled up and a door frame pulled off. An officer determined the damage was probably done by a pet.
POINT REYES STATION - A merchant complained of suspicious people harassing his employees. A deputy checked the people's identification and released them.
WOODACRE - A woman went to a house where she heard screaming. Her knock was answered by a man who refused to talk with her. However, a woman in the house was weeping and said the man beats her.
LAGUNITAS - A landlord complained a tenant was refusing to return property. A deputy gave the landlord advice.
