MARSHALL A homeowner at 12:16 p.m. Saturday told officers someone who apparently has a key to her Highway 1 house had stolen "booze and photo albums and a small file case" containing "personal belongings," a deputy reported. The woman said she suspects the culprit is someone who had worked at her home.
WOODACRE A woman at 11:02 p.m. last Thursday reported her 17-year-old daughter had come home drunk, and the two of them had gotten into a fight. The mother said that after she yelled at her daughter, the girl shoved her and left on foot.
INVERNESS PARK A Laurel Way resident at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 18 reported his locked mountain bike had been stolen off his front deck.
STINSON BEACH A Calle de la Sierra resident at 5:15 p.m. Nov. 18 reported someone was using the residents credit card number to purchase merchandise over the phone.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 2:26 a.m. Friday notified deputies that she and her 13-year-old son had quarreled and that he had left home at 10:30 p.m. and not returned. Deputies listed the boy as missing, but at 8:58 a.m. his father called officers to say his son had been found in the basement and to cancel the missing-youth report.
STINSON BEACH A man on Calle de la Ribera at 2:45 a.m. Monday notified deputies that a thief had stolen his 1988 white Honda Accord. Deputies referred the matter to the Highway Patrol, which searched the town for the car but could not find it.
PLATFORM BRIDGE A merchant at 8:37 a.m. Saturday told deputies that tools had been stolen during a nighttime break-in at his business.
TOMALES A Tomales-Petaluma Road landowner reported vandalism to her property and asked for extra patrols by deputies.
BOLINAS A deputy on Wharf Road at 11:06 p.m. Saturday found a man from Kentfield slumped over the wheel of his white Saturn, drunk. Deputies reported the man was "not cooperative," determined the car was registered to an East Marin woman, and called her to see if the man had permission to use it. A deputy arrested the man on charges of public drunkenness and commented, "Hes hammered." The officer also reiterated that the man was "not cooperative [as well as] verbally very uncooperative."
FOUR CORNERS A deputy at 12:50 a.m. Sunday received an ambiguous report that it "smells like something burning" on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road.
NICASIO A Lucas Valley Road resident at 1:19 a.m. Friday notified deputies he had heard a vehicle crash. Deputies, who turned the case over to the Highway Patrol, reported there were two females and one male in the vehicle, and they "looked shaken."
FOREST KNOLLS A Ramona Avenue resident at 3:43 a.m. Friday reported his house was filled with smoke and that he possibly had a chimney fire. County firefighters determined that there was no chimney fire; the paint was merely burning off a new woodstove.
BOLINAS A woman who works for an engineering firm in Contra Costa County reported receiving a fraudulent check from someone on Wharf Road. A deputy told the woman how to file a fraud report.
TOMALES A woman at 10:30 a.m. Sunday reported being yelled at by her 35-year-old son, who had been living with her. She asked for help in getting him to leave her house.
POINT REYES STATION Paramedics and deputies at 11:55 a.m. last Thursday were summoned to Sixth Street when a 64-year-old woman had a heart attack.
SAN GERONIMO A resident at 3:55 p.m. last Thursday reported a new, red Honda Civic was up on jacks with three tires missing on San Geronimo Valley Drive. He said the car might be stolen because a stolen car was found in the same location a week earlier.
LAGUNITAS A Mountain View Avenue resident at 5:20 p.m. last Thursday complained that workers at a house under construction were parking their trucks on a curve, leaving insufficient clearance for other vehicles to pass. A deputy talked with the landowner, and the trucks were moved.
WOODACRE A resident at 9:59 p.m. last Wednesday reported hearing a man and woman on Madrone Avenue yelling at each other for five minutes. "All was quiet now," he said.
POINT REYES STATION A preschool at 9:50 a.m. last Wednesday reported ongoing vandalism to its playground equipment. A woman from the preschool said a vandal had "tagged" the equipment by spraying graffiti on it and had burned holes in a plastic-nylon tarpaulin used for shade.
NICASIO A Nicasio Valley Road resident at 6:13 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies that as he drove up to his house, he saw a silver Pontiac Grand Am back out from behind the house. Two men in their 30s were in the car, he said.
OLEMA VALLEY A sheriffs patrolcar at 7:07 p.m. Nov. 18 hit a deer on Highway 1 five miles south of Five Brooks. The deer was so completely splattered by the impact that the deputy driving the patrol car reported the "deer is all over the road [and] not a traffic hazard anymore."
POINT REYES STATION A member of the school staff at 7:49 a.m. Nov. 18 reported a deer was stuck in a storm drain along Mañana Way. A deputy shot it to put it out of its misery. The Humane Society, meanwhile, said it would investigate whether there was "evidence kids were tormenting the deer."
FOREST KNOLLS An 80-year-old physician at 2:38 p.m. Nov. 18 reported having a heart attack. He said he had chest pains and had taken nitroglycerin, which dilates blood vessels, but had gotten no relief.
TOMALES A man on Highway 1 at 12:10 p.m. Friday reported his mothers vehicle, which had been locked and inside a garage, had been broken into during the night. The passenger window was broken out, he said, and numerous items were taken from the vehicle, as well as a toolbox from the garage.
BOLINAS A man on Brighton Avenue at 12:30 p.m. Friday told a deputy that while he was camping on Bolinas Beach a month earlier, his tent and its contents, altogether worth $200, were stolen.
NICASIO A Nicasio Valley Road resident at 4:14 p.m. Friday notified deputies she had found a backpack in her driveway and wanted to turn it over to officers for safekeeping.
WOODACRE A Redwood Drive resident at 5:14 p.m. Friday notified deputies a burglar had stolen knives, household items, and two rifles from his home.
POINT REYES STATION A firefighter at 7:13 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a car had run off Highway 1 north of town, but no one was injured. Deputies referred the mishap to the CHP.
WOODACRE A caller who refused to give a name at 7:20 p.m. Saturday complained about loud music coming from a house on Madrone Avenue. The caller said deputies should tell the occupant that the volume would have to be turned down by 11 p.m. A deputy that went to the Madrone Avenue house found it quiet and unoccupied.
POINT REYES STATION A deputy at 2:18 a.m. Sunday stopped a vehicle for a mechanical violation and then asked the Highway Patrol to check the drivers sobriety. The motorist was then turned over to the CHP and booked on charges of drunk driving.
HICKS VALLEY A 42-year-old man bleeding from the head walked 300 yards to a Hicks Valley Road home, arriving at 8:04 a.m. Sunday, and reported he had been in a rollover crash involving only his vehicle. The mans bleeding was stanched, but he had high blood pressure and his back hurt, a deputy reported.
HICKS VALLEY A Point Reyes-Petaluma Road rancher at 10:44 a.m. Sunday complained that a ranchworker, whom she had fired, continues to return to her property and was there at the time.
BOLINAS A woman on Mesa Road at 6:18 p.m. Sunday reported her boyfriend had not returned from abalone diving.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Ritch Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substations new phone number is 446-4418.
November 20, 2003 Sheriff's Calls
DOGTOWN A resident at 3:03 p.m. Friday said there had been a rental van parked for some time near his Highway 1 home. He asked officers to see if it was stolen. A deputy checked with the Budget vehicle-rental company, which said the van was not stolen, just overdue. The company said it had contacted the driver, who knew the van was overdue and had agreed to return it. At 7:42 a.m. Monday, however, the resident reported the van still parked nearby. A deputy gave him advice, but by the time the officer reached the scene, the vehicle was gone. Meanwhile, Budget reconfirmed it would handle the matter.
MUIR BEACH A Starbuck Drive resident at 5:02 p.m. last Wednesday reported hearing 20 to 30 gunshots. Deputies told him rangers at a state park firing range were doing the shooting.
BOLINAS A Wharf Road merchant at 8:08 p.m. Sunday reported a "tall, skinny man" could not get back to San Rafael because his cars battery was dead. She said the man, who had been drinking, "is acting out" and that law enforcement might be needed. Deputies were subsequently told that the man "is behaving now," an officer reported. Deputies took him to a detoxification center.
STINSON BEACH A woman at 9:02 a.m. Monday reported that another woman, 49, had tripped on a flashlight the previous night and had sprained or possibly broken her ankle. Medics from the town fire department responded to the Seadrift Road mishap.
WOODACRE A man at 9:37 a.m. Monday notified deputies that vandals had damaged trees, personal property, and engineering equipment, as well as disturbed survey marks.
LAGUNITAS A woman at 3:03 p.m. Monday reported that a car was lying on its side two miles west of town on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. A ranger from Samuel P. Taylor State Park was dispatched to the scene. County Fire Department medics also responded, and deputies later reported that neither the driver nor her small child whod been in the car had any visible injuries.
SAN GERONIMO A resident at 9:54 p.m. Sunday told deputies she could see flashlights in a house under construction. She also said she could hear music in the house, making her suspect that juveniles were in the building.
BOLINAS A Park Avenue resident at 12:56 p.m. Sunday complained about six vehicles illegally parked around her house. By the time a deputy arrived, four of the vehicles had left. The other two, although in front of the womans house, were parked legally, the deputy concluded.
FOREST KNOLLS A Montezuma Avenue resident at 1:19 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that during the weekend, a vandal had smashed the taillight of her car and put a dent in the vehicle. A deputy determined the car had not been vandalized; it had been struck by a hit-run motorist.
INVERNESS PARK A woman at 1:28 p.m. Sunday told deputies that an 86-year-old womans medicine was "not working." She said the older womans blood pressure was high and that she looked pale. Medics took her to Kaiser Hospital by ambulance.
WOODACRE A man at 10:05 p.m. Saturday complained that music with a loud bass had been coming from Madrone Avenue residence for the last four hours. He said such disturbances were ongoing. When a deputy reached the scene, he found a related "verbal disturbance" was underway. Another unhappy neighbor was yelling at the resident with the music, who subsequently agreed to turn the volume, and "the neighborly verbal was abated," the deputy reported.
WOODACRE A deputy at Railroad Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 11:07 p.m. Saturday shot a deer, which had been injured in traffic, to put the animal out of its misery.
SAN GERONIMO A Meadow Way resident at 11:25 p.m. Saturday complained about a loud party nearby, with "lots of cars on the meadow." The resident added his own car had been hit by an orange paintball at 9:30 p.m. but that he had washed off the paint and didnt want to press charges. A deputy who responded to the scene found a "small party of adults."
INVERNESS A Via del Vista resident at 8:40 p.m. reported a suspicious man, who was in his 20s and wearing a bandanna on his head, was standing at the edge of her property. She said she had earlier confronted him as he went through a gate into her garden, and he left. Slightly more than 10 minutes later, the resident called back to say she had just discovered that a red toolbox had been taken from her garage the previous day.
DOGTOWN School staff at 9:10 a.m. Saturday reported a 14-year-old student had struck a staff member and was "not cooperative." Staff said the youth was being restrained. Deputies booked him into Juvenile Hall.
INVERNESS PARK A Vallejo Avenue resident at 1:23 p.m. Saturday reported that a Ford pickup truck with a camper shell and Idaho license plates had parked near his house all night. He said the Idaho residents might have hiked through his land.
BOLINAS A woman at 2:55 p.m. Saturday reported "five or six street people" were "pushing and shoving and arguing in front of the community center." She said the group might have been drinking.
OLEMA Two women at 10:39 p.m. Friday reported a deer had been injured in traffic on Highway 1 near the cemetery. A deputy found a small fawn with both rear legs broken. He shot the deer to put it out of its misery, and the Humane Society removed the carcass.
POINT REYES STATION A town resident at 10:39 p.m. Friday told deputies he was suspicious about two men and a woman parked at Highway 1 and Viento Way. Their vehicles trunk was open, and the three of them were changing clothes, he said. The resident added that the trio "seemed too friendly."
OLEMA A woman at 1:17 a.m. Saturday complained about five drunken campers. When a deputy arrived, the five "agreed to turn in for the night," a deputy reported.
BOLINAS An Ocean Avenue woman at 7:47 a.m. Friday reported that a second woman, 44, had been having chest pains for five days, was throwing up, and the previous day had a temperature of 104 degrees. Deputies and medics responded.
BOLINAS Deputies at 9:29 p.m. Friday mediated a dispute between a handicapped person and directors of the library society. There was no violation at the time, but the officer explained the law to both sides.
OLEMA Fairfax Police at 3:06 p.m. Friday forwarded a report that a bull was loose on Highway 1. Deputies notified a nearby rancher and the Highway Patrol.
BOLINAS A deputy found people sleeping in a van parked at Wharf Road and Brighton Avenue at 11:11 p.m. Friday. The sleepers said they had been working in town but had no place to stay. The officer told them vehicle habitation is illegal in Marin County and warned them against driving without a license.
OLEMA A man at 1:05 p.m. last Thursday reported that at 9:30 a.m., his wife had gone horseback riding in Olema, leaving her cell phone at home. At 11:20 a.m., he said, the phone rang but when he answered it, all he could hear was someone he didnt know crying on the other end. Awhile later, the cell phone rang again, he added, but this time no one was on the line.
BOLINAS A rescue helicopter was summoned at 1:39 p.m. last Thursday when school staff reported a 13-year-old girl, who had been running on the soccer field, was now feeling faint. The girls face was red with a white outline around her lips, deputies reported.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 8:44 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies he has a business in East Marin and that earlier in the day he had fired his daughter. He said the daughter, who lives in Petaluma, had moments earlier left his house after yelling and screaming at him.
BOLINAS A man at 10:13 a.m. last Wednesday asked deputies why the gate across the Bolinas-Fairfax Road was closed and locked. Deputies didnt know and made note of the fact that county Fire Department headquarters in Woodacre does not have the key.

DILLON BEACH A vandal cut the pipes to an Oceana Drive residents hot tub, she told deputies at 4:10 p.m. last Thursday.
POINT REYES STATION Saying noisy events had become an "ongoing issue," a downtown resident called deputies at 8:08 p.m. Friday to complain about loud, amplified music on Mesa Road for the past two hours. A deputy notified an organizer of the event, and the volume was turned down.
CHILENO VALLEY A woman at 8:51 a.m. last Thursday warned deputies that a brown calf loose along Wilson Hill Road was creating a traffic hazard. A deputy could not find it.
OLEMA A deputy at 8:52 p.m. Friday found a motorist snoozing beside Highway 1 and sent him to a campground. The officer told the man county law prohibits sleeping in vehicles outside of designated campgrounds.
OLEMA A deer was struck in traffic on Highway 1, and a deputy at 10:08 p.m. Friday was sent to see if it was still alive.
POINT REYES STATION The Highway Patrol at 12:04 a.m. Saturday notified deputies that a tree had fallen on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. A deputy pulled a branch off the roadway.
POINT REYES STATION A Mesa Road resident, who had found an old digital camera and case a week earlier, asked deputies at 1:13 p.m. Friday if anyone had located it.
TOMALES Medics at 2:20 p.m. Friday transported the victim of a morphine-and-Vicodin overdose to Petaluma Valley Hospital.
NICASIO A deputy at 12:37 a.m. last Thursday found a man sleeping in a vehicle parked along Nicasio Valley Road beside Nicasio Reservoir. The man told the officer he was sleeping in his car because he could not get along with the people with whom he was supposed to be staying. The officer, however, told him "vehicular habitation" in Marin County is illegal and that Marin Municipal Water District closes the shores of the reservoir at sunset.
BOLINAS A resident at 9 p.m. last Thursday for the fifth time in two weeks complained that people were living in vehicles along Maple Road. This time, a deputy was unable to find anyone living in a vehicle there.
INVERNESS A woman drove back from Tomales after deputies at 10:49 p.m. last Thursday reported her purse had been found in front of the Inverness Postoffice.
NICASIO A Lucas Valley Road resident at 7:40 a.m. last week called 911 and screamed, only to then hang up. A dispatcher that returned the call noted the woman was "difficult to understand on the phone." After repeated callbacks, the resident said "nothing is going on and that she is crazy. [She then] hung up for the fourth time," the dispatcher noted. Medics took the woman to Marin General Hospital.
WOODACRE A resident at 3:54 p.m. last Thursday asked to file a stolen-car report. She said the car, a brown Honda Accord with four wheels missing, had been parked on Redwood Drive for the past day. INVERNESS An Inverness Way resident at 10:18 p.m. last Wednesday complained about a loud stereo in the neighborhood, saying it was a "continual problem."
NICASIO Firefighters were called to Nicasio Valley Road at 11:54 p.m. last Thursday when a fire flared up in a pile of compost. No structures were damaged in the mishap.
SAN GERONIMO A Sylvestris Drive resident at 9:39 a.m. last Wednesday complained that more than month had gone by since she called to complain about an unknown person cutting trees on her property. She wanted to know why she hadnt received a callback. A deputy told her that no suspect has turned up.
INVERNESS PARK A resident of Paradise Ranch Estates subdivision at 9:19 p.m. Nov. 4 notified deputies about a "very black vehicle parked on a curve" of Sunshine Court. She said that in the dark she had almost driven into it. A deputy determined the black vehicle was not blocking the roadway.
OLEMA HILL A Tocaloma resident at 10:11 p.m. Nov. 4 told deputies she had seen a Toyota pickup truck with a camper shell stopped along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, with a man inside appearing to be pointing a gun out the window. A deputy could not find the man.
DOGTOWN Deputies at 12:55 a.m. last Wednesday received word that a deer had been struck in traffic on Highway 1. It had been moved off the road and might still be alive, officers were told. However, they could not find the animal.
BOLINAS A 35-year-old resident undergoing treatment for high cholesterol and HIV notified deputies at 1:34 a.m. last Wednesday that he was having unpleasant side effects, including extreme shivering, from taking 1,000 milligrams of Niacin. His call was transferred to the Poison Control Center in San Francisco.
TOMALES A Carrie Street caller at 11:30 a.m. Monday reported an adult was missing.
WOODACRE A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday told deputies a second man, who had just hit him, could now be found at a neighboring ranch. The second man had claimed the resident owed him $25, and when the resident refused to pay, the second man hit him and broke a window, the resident told deputies.
INVERNESS PARK A park employee at 2:37 p.m. Nov. 1 notified deputies that someone had broken a window on a private car belonging to another park employee. She said the car was parked at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Drakes View Drive.
BOLINAS A Wharf Road merchant at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday complained that a bicycle and bicycle trailer filled with clothes had been parked in front of the business front door for a week. The merchant said he was upset that the owner of the vehicles had not moved them when asked to. The dispute ended when the bicycle and bicycle trailer were relocated to a residence down the street.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue woman at 7:36 p.m. Friday reported hearing gunshots or fireworks. She later called back to say he had now had heard "crackling," suggesting the noise was coming from a fire.
BOLINAS Deputies and medics responded to Ocean Avenue at 8:34 p.m. Monday when someone suffered severe food poisoning, possibly from eating a falafel. The victim suffered pain in breathing, an officer reported.
NICASIO Fairfax Police at 9:09 p.m. Monday forwarded a report that a dead deer, which had been struck in traffic, was in the middle of Nicasio Valley Road. A deputy found the deer on the north side of Moon Hill and moved it off the roadway.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies at 9:54 p.m. Monday received a report of a verbal disturbance on Rosario Road involving a mother and her daughter. An officer noted the mothers screaming could be heard in the background of the call.
DILLON BEACH Yet another instance of illegal dumping on West Marin roadsides was reported at 12:29 Monday, when the Highway Patrol notified deputies that a refrigerator had been abandoned beside Franklin School Road not far from Dillon Beach Road.

PLATFORM BRIDGE A woman at 8:27 p.m. Sunday let deputies know that a motorist had crashed into the bridge. She said the man was out of his vehicle and walking around. Deputies notified the Highway Patrol.
POINT REYES STATION Medics and a deputy at 9:21 a.m. Monday responded when a horse kicked a 20-year-old woman in the face. Deputies reported the woman was bleeding from above an eye.
SAN GERONIMO A daughter at 10:21 a.m. Monday told deputies her "adult parents" were having a verbal dispute, an officer reported. The daughter told deputies her 57-year-old mother was throwing household items around their home, the deputy added. The dispute concerned "marital issues," officers noted.
BOLINAS A woman at 12:27 p.m. Monday asked deputies to keep an eye on her property, explaining that two men had come onto her property three times that day.
WOODACRE Medics and a deputy at 1:40 p.m. Monday were summoned to San Geronimo Valley Drive when a 20-year-old woman was thrown from a horse. Deputies were told the woman is "confused, does not know what day it is or what happened." After her horse came home without a rider, people searched for the woman and found her "very confused" with "scrapes and bruises," a deputy noted.
DILLON BEACH Faced with the towns total lack of on-street parking, an Oceana Drive woman asked deputies what to do about a very large moving van that needed to be parked at her house overnight. Her street is within Oceana Marin subdivision, where the homeowners association tows away vehicles parked on its streets, one deputy noted. Nor is on-street parking allowed in the older part of town because streets are generally narrow. At the advice of a deputy, the woman arranged for the moving van to be parked overnight on a hill a couple of miles east of town.
INVERNESS A man at 7:18 a.m. Sunday reported someone was shooting a handgun into the woods from a pickup truck around Pine Hill and Woodhaven roads. He said all he saw of the gunman was his arm sticking out the window of the truck, a late model Toyota Tacoma.
STINSON BEACH A thief stole a bag of medicines together worth $565 from a womans car that was in a locked garage, she told deputies at 11:32 a.m. Sunday. She said she recalled hearing a male voice "yelling and babbling outside" at 4:30 a.m. The woman added that other people have also reported seeing a suspicious person in the area.
BOLINAS A resident at 10:45 a.m. last Thursday complained that someone was illegally living in vehicles at the end of Maple Road. She said she had also complained about the two pickup trucks with camper shells the day before.
BOLINAS On Saturday, the same resident called deputies at 2:57 p.m. to complain that there were still two vehicles with people "camping out" in them at the end of Maple Road. A deputy found a person in one of the vehicles and notified the motorist a county law prohibits vehicle habitation outside designated campgrounds. The other vehicle was unoccupied.
BOLINAS At 12:38 p.m. Sunday, the same resident called deputies for a fourth time, reiterating that the vehicles were a "cross-country camper" and a white Toyota pickup with a camper shell. She said the problem had now persisted for three days despite a sheriffs department plan to remove them. The woman said she wanted to know what the plan was.
BOLINAS A merchant at 1:21 p.m. Sunday reported a man in his early 20s, who had previously been caught stealing alcohol, had come to the business again trying to buy alcohol. When the merchant asked for his identification, the man became verbally abusive, deputies were told. The merchant said the man was now loitering in front of his business but then added the man had just come back into the business, resumed yelling at the merchant, and pulled a small razor blade out of a sock.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 1:49 p.m. Sunday reported that an intruder entered a home for sale, spent the night there, stole several items, and moved appliances around.
BOLINAS A deputy on Brighton Avenue at 2:20 p.m. Sunday arrested two men who were wanted on Sonoma County warrants.
OLEMA The sheriffs substation commander at 3:30 p.m. Sunday reported cattle were spread across Highway 1. He asked a deputy to help the Highway Patrol handle the problem.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 3:36 p.m. Sunday complained to deputies that a man from across the street had waved to her through a window. She said he then came into her house and asked if she was alone. He next pushed her against a bookcase, kissed her, and told her he was going to make love to her, she reported. The woman said she told the man, "No," and the man stepped back, only to then grab her by "the butt." In leaving, he told the woman he would "be back," she added.
WOODACRE A Carson Road resident at 6:42 p.m. Saturday told deputies a man, who had been driving a light blue car, was knocking at her door. Before he knocked, she had seen him standing inside her gate when she let her cat out.
WOODACRE The same Carson Road resident at 4:54 p.m. Sunday notified deputies the man, who is in his 40s, had spent the night hiding on her property. She added that during the night she had heard him trying to open her front door and heard other sounds outdoors. When she spotted him at her front gate and said, "Hello," he ran away, she reported, but he then ran back to her front door and began pounding.
POINT REYES STATION An older resident of Mesa Road at 8:36 p.m. Saturday complained about loud music coming from the Red Barn and said he wanted it "taken inside." A deputy later reported the problem had been abated. However, at 10:47 p.m. deputies received a report of a verbal disturbance at the Red Barn involving "six or seven guys arguing." A deputy abated the disturbance but remained in the area.
STINSON BEACH A Calle de la Sierra resident at 11:09 p.m. Saturday complained that a large group of youths had a large, illegal bonfire on the beach and were setting off fireworks. The resident said he had asked the group to "cease," but they responded by making noise. A second resident subsequently reported being able to see "explosions" on the beach.
NICASIO A man at 9:50 a.m. Saturday told deputies he was concerned about the wellbeing of a 40-year-old, alcoholic resident. The unhappy woman appears not to be taking care of herself, he said.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 10:49 a.m. Saturday complained that a neighbor was using her driveway while moving and that she had threatened the resident. The resident said the woman appeared intoxicated and might become violent. The problem was abated before a deputy arrived.
DILLON BEACH A woman on Beach Avenue at 12:55 p.m. Saturday reported that two youths were shooting a silver rifle in the air near a residence.
TOMALES A woman at 1:17 p.m. Saturday called deputies from Highway 1 and Dillon Beach Road to ask that an officer assist the Humane Society in trying to find her missing sheep.
NICASIO Deputies at 10:09 p.m. Friday received a report that a vehicle had run into a ditch at Nicasio Valley and Lucas Valley roads. No one was injured, but a tow-truck was needed to pull the vehicle out of the ditch.
TOMALES The high school principal at 8:59 a.m. Friday reported an $1,800 laptop computer had been stolen from the "server room" for the schools computer network.
INVERNESS PARK A member of the county Planning Division staff at 10:14 a.m. Friday asked a deputy to direct a Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident to stop cutting trees until securing a permit from the Planning Division.
FOREST KNOLLS An emergency medical technician from the county fire department at 12:26 p.m. Friday notified deputies that a 70-year-old resident, who keeps a horse in her front yard, had been knocked over, breaking a leg. The EMT said the leg was bleeding with a bone sticking out.
WOODACRE A resident in the vicinity of Carson Road and Conifer Way at 7:51 p.m. last Thursday told deputies a woman living on a nearby street had threatened to shoot him. The resident said he had been trying to back his vehicle out of his driveway when the woman asked him for a ride. When he turned her down, the resident said, she threatened him. The man added that he intended to move away in two days.
TOMALES A man on Second Street at 9:02 p.m. complained about loud music coming from a Toyota. The vehicle was gone when a deputy arrived.
BOLINAS A woman living in the vicinity of Ocean and Terrace avenues at 9:02 p.m. last Thursday told deputies she had heard a vehicle run off Terrace Avenue and then heard someone scream. The Highway Patrol found a Toyota pickup truck off the road. There was no driver present.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 8:17 a.m. last Thursday called from Nicasio Valley Road to report a burglar had cut a lock to get into a storage container at a construction site. Missing were $2,000 worth of tools.
DILLON BEACH A man, who sounded as if he "had been drinking," called deputies at 12:12 p.m. last Thursday to report his boat and trailer had been stolen in a "strong-armed robbery."
NICASIO Staff of the county Open Space District at 4:10 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies of "kids playing with paintballs" along Nicasio Valley Road. A deputy contacted two youths, who were "cooperative" and "agreed to cleanup the mess and not to do it again."
BOLINAS A woman on Wharf Road at 4:52 p.m. last Thursday complained about five "street people yelling loudly." She said she wanted them moved along. The five were gone when a deputy arrived.
NICASIO A motorist at 6:13 p.m. last Thursday reported he had just struck a deer on Nicasio Valley Road. He said he didnt know if the deer was still alive. A deputy could not find it.
INVERNESS PARK A motorist at 4:51 a.m. last Thursday reported she had just struck a deer on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near White House Pool. She said the deer had died but was still in the middle of the road, creating a traffic hazard. A deputy pulled the carcass off the road.
WOODACRE The superintendent of Lagunitas School District at 8:32 a.m. last Thursday told deputies she had received a call from a parent who had seen a man fitting the description of a reported pedophile. Deputies were told a week ago that a man had tried to lure juveniles into a vehicle parked near the Woodacre Improvement Club. The man seen last Thursday was parked on Bothin Road near the Boy Scout camp, possibly with a flat tire, the superintendent said.
BOLINAS A woman on Wharf Road at 8:55 a.m. last Thursday told deputies she wanted her money back from the Laundromat and that a man doing recycling had "brandished a wrench" at her.
BOLINAS Firefighters at 9:20 a.m. last Thursday reported a Chevrolet pickup truck had ended up in the ocean at the end of Wharf Road. Firefighters using a tractor were able to pull the pickup to dry land.
BOLINAS Deputies at 10:15 a.m. last Thursday received a report that a 52-year-old man had walked through a plate glass door on Cherry Drive, gashing his lower-right leg. Medics and an officer responded.
MUIR BEACH A Sunset Way resident at 11:19 a.m. last Thursday reported receiving harassing phone calls from her brother. A deputy gave her advice.
WOODACRE Medics and a deputy responded at 11:31 a.m. last Wednesday when a 96-year-old woman became unable to move a leg because the knee was swollen.
STINSON BEACH A resident at 2:26 p.m. last Wednesday reported a man drinking from hoses and entering vacant houses. She said the man had not come into her house yet, but she wanted advice.
BOLINAS A woman at 10:53 p.m. Oct. 28 reported her 56-year-old husband had overdosed on morphine. She said he had been depressed.
STINSON BEACH An Avenida Olema resident at 12:39 a.m. last Wednesday said the doors of her house had been wedged open and that she suspected someone had been in her car. A deputy concluded the doors had not been wedged open.
WOODACRE Deputies at 2:54 p.m. Oct. 28 received a report that a tree had fallen across Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, blocking one lane. A deputy and a Highway Patrol Officer provided traffic control while the county Department of Public Works removed the tree.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Ritch Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substations new phone number is 446-4418.
