October 28, 1999 Sheriff's Calls

POINT REYES STATION - A car spun out of control on a wet section of the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road at 8:30 a.m. When the car hit an embankment just outside of town, the driver, a Point Reyes Station woman, suffered cuts to her face and hurt her neck. Paramedics transported her to Marin General Hospital.

POINT REYES STATION - A burglar entered a woman's house on Highway 1 and stole jewelry.

DILLON BEACH - A woman reported a burglar stole property from a storage cabinet, which was outside her travel trailer.

BOLINAS - An Evergreen Road woman reported a vandal shot out the rear window of her vehicle with a BB gun.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD - A man complained that someone is unlawfully using his Social Security number.

DILLON BEACH - A woman on Marine View Drive notified deputies that her business partner had said he would see her in court "if you live that long." A deputy gave the woman advice but concluded the partner's remark was not a criminal threat.

BOLINAS - Deputies at 3:30 p.m. were notified of two people fighting on the beach.

LAGUNITAS - A Fairfax policeman reported that a missing 16-year-old girl had been found and returned to her parents.

LAGUNITAS - A resident at Arroyo Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard told deputies a friend's boat was being stolen at that moment. An officer found a sign on the craft that said "Free Boat," but the resident said his friend had not posted the sign. Upon hearing that, the people who had been taking the boat left.

BOLINAS - A man created a disturbance when a merchant refused to sell him liquor, the merchant said. The man was last seen heading toward Wharf Road.

INVERNESS - A woman at 3 a.m. reported her 32-year-old husband had been due home at 12:30 a.m., but at 3 a.m., he still had not arrived. The man was eventually spotted in San Rafael and said he would call home.

WOODACRE - A woman told deputies she'd had a dispute with a tree worker over how much work he'd done and hadn't done. After that, she said, he left his tools at her residence and has not returned for them.

POINT REYES STATION - Deputies notified the Highway Patrol when a bicyclist fell down at Highway 1 and the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road.

SAN GERONIMO - A builder complained about three protesters in front of his project carrying numerous signs and nailing one sign on a utility pole located on his property. He added that the protesters on occasion were on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and that he was worried about the traffic hazard. A deputy told the protesters they had to carry their signs and could not post them on the site.

LAGUNITAS - An out-of-town man notified deputies he had bought a computer program over the Internet from a man on Spring Road. He said he'd sent the man a check for $2,261, the check was cashed, but no program was ever delivered. He added that he had unsuccessfully tried to contact the Spring Road man via website and phone.

BOLINAS - A man at 3 p.m. notified deputies he had been assaulted on the beach by his ex-wife. He said she threw a Thermos bottle at him, hitting him in the head and causing him to bleed. He did not give officers her name, saying that townspeople "all know her."

FOREST KNOLLS - Deputies received a 911 call from a merchant, who said a man and woman were arguing. Deputies could hear voices in the background, but the disturbance was abated before officers arrived.

WOODACRE - Marin Municipal Water District notified deputies that a parked car was blocking its driveway. The district asked to have the car towed away.

FOREST KNOLLS - A woman on Juarez Avenue told deputies she has secured a court's restraining order to keep a man, 50, off her property. She said he had left a note on her front step, but an officer pointed out that no one had seen him do it. The deputy gave the woman advice.

LAGUNITAS - A merchant reported that a very drunk man was in a vehicle parked in front of her store. A deputy determined the man was from Oakland.

WOODACRE - Two vehicles collided at 8 p.m. at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Railroad Avenue. The Highway Patrol handled the collision, which injured several people.

DILLON BEACH - The Coast Guard in Bodega Bay at 11 p.m. told deputies that a citizen had reported seeing a red distress flare offshore. The Coast Guard said it was dispatching a cutter and asked deputies to make sure no one was setting off fireworks.

OLEMA - Four people were hurt in a single-car accident south of the stoplight. Deputies noted three of the four were lying on the ground and that some of the victims would be taken to a hospital by helicopter.

BOLINAS - A Wharf Road resident at 3:20 a.m. complained of loud music coming from the community center. A deputy who checked found the center locked up and no one around.

NICASIO - A security guard detained a man at the gate of a business after he twice showed up attempting to see the owner.

WOODACRE - A woman reported seeing an 11-year-old boy setting off firecrackers in the vicinity of Garden Way and Redwood Avenue. She said it was a continual problem.

NICASIO - A woman on Nicasio Valley Road reported receiving threats from a man who had previously shown up at her ranch.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Tamal Road resident reported that her fence had been cut with wire cutters and that she suspects her neighbors did it since she's been having problems with them.

DILLON BEACH - After deputies received a 911 call with no one on the phone, they called the number back and received a recorded message that the phone was out of service. The officers then checked with the telephone company, which said the phone was off the hook. A deputy subsequently admonished numerous juveniles about misuse of 911.

TOMALES - A deputy gave a mother advice in dealing with her daughter.

SAN GERONIMO - A woman at 9 p.m. called deputies to say she needed her keys, which her husband would not give up. Officers noted they could hear a verbal disturbance in the background, with a male yelling and a female screaming, "Ouch!" Deputies added they could also hear something banging in the background.

CHILENO VALLEY - A woman at 9:25 a.m. reported extinguishing a small fire set by an arsonist. She said the fire burned grass, a sign, and part of a fence. The woman said that across the street she found a can that had held a flammable liquid used to spread the fire. The woman said she believes the culprit is a man who previously threatened her.

DILLON BEACH - A man on Kailua Way complained about trespassing, which a deputy noted could be considered an easement dispute. He gave the man advice.

BOLINAS - A woman on Wharf Road at 11 a.m. complained about loud music in the neighborhood. A deputy gave her advice.

WOODACRE - A man notified deputies that three times in the past week people have called him claiming to be from a small-business association and asking for his bank-account number. An officer gave him advice.

INVERNESS PARK - Deputies at 9 p.m. were notified that a car had flipped over on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard just west of downtown; however, the driver was out of the car and walking around. Deputies, firefighters, and the Highway Patrol responded.

INVERNESS PARK - A resident of Drake's View Drive reported a burglar had broken into his house through a window and had stolen money, including small change.

INVERNESS PARK - A resident of Sunnyside Drive reported a burglar had pried open her front door and stolen a Macintosh computer and a silver flute.

NICASIO - A woman asked for advice in dealing with her rebellious 10-year-old son. A deputy gave her advice.

STINSON BEACH - A burglar stole a cellular phone from a vehicle parked on Seadrift Road.

NICASIO RESERVOIR - A motorist at 8:20 p.m. told deputies the Department of Public Works should remove some large rocks that had fallen onto the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. He said he had just driven through them and had done minor damage to his vehicle.

WOODACRE - A resident in the area of Park Street and Railroad Avenue at 2:40 a.m. complained about a truck driving up and down the street very fast. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.

NICASIO - An Inverness man at 10 p.m. reported seeing someone with black plastic bags and wrapped in a sheet walking west on Lucas Valley Road. The pedestrian was gone when a deputy arrived.

SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK - A man was cited on charges of possessing deer parts.

 

October 21, 1999 Sheriff's Calls

BOLINAS - A woman found five bones in the water at the end of Wharf Road's seawall. A deputy bagged the bones and took them to the coroner so he could determine their origin.

TOMALES - Because of an ongoing civil problem at Railroad Avenue and Second Street, two tenants are moving out. The landlords have secured a court's restraining order against the tenants, so they asked that a deputy stand by while they made a last walk-through of their former home. A deputy refused the request because neither landlord would be present. The tenants later received a standby when they returned their keys.

STINSON BEACH - A Seadrift Road resident at 12:30 a.m. complained about 20 teenagers partying nextdoor, vandalizing the resident's front yard, and vandalizing the yards of other neighbors.

LAGUNITAS - A resident at 11 a.m. notified deputies that a man 35 to 40 years old had come to the resident's door and asked if he could trade his knife for a kitchen knife. The man then pulled out a knife with an 8-inch blade. The resident said the man had walked off, smoking a cigarette. A deputy later found the man pushing a bicycle.

POINT REYES STATION - Deputies received a report that a man on the levee road was stripping a car that had been involved in an accident a few days earlier. An officer could not find the man.

DILLON BEACH - A man on Marine View Drive at noon reported his cooler had been stolen and that he knew who did it.

NICASIO - A resident complained that as he drove on Old Rancheria Road, a vehicle going in the other direction broke off the resident's sideview mirror but did not stop. The resident said he has a witness. Deputies referred the matter to the Highway Patrol.

INVERNESS - A woman living along Valley Avenue at 4:15 p.m. said two vehicles carrying four people were parked down the street and might be casing a house for a burglary. A deputy could not find the vehicles.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Tamal Road woman complained that a neighbor had erected a fence on her property two weeks ago and that she wished to file a complaint. A deputy gave her advice.

WOODACRE - A landlady and a tenant got into a dispute on Redwood Drive.

BOLINAS - A man reported that his daughter, 17, had run away.

BOLINAS - The Highway Patrol at 11:15 p.m. asked deputies to check on a vehicle stuck in a ditch along Ocean Parkway.

FOREST KNOLLS - A man became drunk in a bar, and his ride left without him, the man's 88-year-old father notified the man's son. The grandfather asked his grandson to arrange for deputies to take the drunk man home.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD - A deputy at 3 a.m. found a dead deer on the roadway north of Platform Bridge and moved it off the pavement.

NICASIO - A Nicasio Valley Road woman reported that a vandal threw a rock through the rear window of her car during the night.

INVERNESS - An Inverness Way man reported his ex-roommate had removed established plants from his home.

BOLINAS - A schoolbus driver reported finding at the Bolinas Wye a wallet belonging to an Arizona woman .

POINT REYES STATION - A man on B Street asked how to get a court's restraining order against a woman. A deputy gave him advice.

MARSHALL - A computer at a home on Highway 1 managed to dial 911 on its own.

FOREST KNOLLS - A woman found a blank piece of paper under her windshield wiper when she left for work. She told a deputy she suspects it was left there by her ex-boyfriend, against whom she has secured a court's restraining order. A deputy gave her advice.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman reported finding notices posted around town about a party that night on a beach off Mesa Road in Bolinas. An officer notified the Park Service and the West Marin Sheriff's Substation.

WOODACRE - A woman reported that her 21-year-old daughter was missing after telling co-workers in San Anselmo that she had a "new date" and was going hiking with him.

TOMALES - A Shoreline School District employee reported that vandals had let the air out of the tires of 10 school buses. The man said the school district was dealing with the culprits but needed to file a report for insurance purposes.

BOLINAS - An Elm Road resident complained of having trouble with a neighbor who does not like a new wind turbine on the resident's property. A deputy gave the resident advice.

BOLINAS - A Grove Road man complained that a neighbor was hosting a play in his yard, and this was causing parking problems in the area. The man said his own driveway was blocked by a truck. When he honked his horn, he said, a "very abusive" man came out and was "threatening."

BOLINAS - A woman at 8:15 p.m. reported her 35-year-old stepbrother was suicidal and very drunk. She told deputies he had said "this was the end of the road for him."

FOREST KNOLLS - A man asked a deputy for advice regarding problems with a neighbor. A deputy gave him advice.

WOODACRE - A resident reported that an 82-year-old man was trespassing on property belonging to the resident's neighbor and was now in the neighbor's backyard. He said the neighbor was not home. A deputy reported he would give the parties advice.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman on Highway 1 reported seeing a man wanted by the FBI.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD - Deputies received a 911 hangup call. When they called back, a woman said some oil in a pot on the stove had caught fire. However, her uncle had arrived and put out the fire, so no response was needed, she added.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident said a vandal had damaged his truck during the night. The resident also complained about a barking dog nextdoor.

FOREST KNOLLS - A man living on Aztec Avenue reported receiving hangup phone calls for two weeks. A deputy determined the calls were not threatening.

OLEMA - A man at 7 p.m. notified deputies that his 52-year-old wife was insane, was an alcoholic, was on medicine for bone cancer, and was walking around looking for a place to stay.

BOLINAS - Firefighters reported a schoolbus was stuck on Cliff Road and that the students were at a nearby house. The driver eventually freed the bus.

WOODACRE - A man complained that someone - possibly a tree trimmer on his property - had stolen $80 from his wallet.

STINSON BEACH - A man living on Marine Way reported his personal phone book had disappeared from his vehicle and was later found in a hotel room. He said he had the name of the woman who last rented the room. The man added that he didn't know if the phone book had been stolen.

 

October 14, 1999 Sheriff's Calls

BOLINAS - A woman on Wharf Road requested transportation to Marin General Hospital so she could be cleared for voluntary admittance to a detoxification center. A deputy noted she was not drunk at the time but nonetheless transported her to the hospital.

BOLINAS - A man on Wharf Road told a deputy he has information on a person being sought in connection with an assault. The officer gave him advice.

BOLINAS - A woman on Brighton Avenue at 10:30 p.m. complained about loud music and talk coming from a group outside a church. The problem was abated when a deputy arrived.

HICKS VALLEY - A vehicle at 11 p.m. hit a cow on Hicks Valley Road. A rancher was notified about the cow lying in the roadway, and county firefighters said they would contact the Humane Society.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Montezuma Avenue resident complained about juveniles practicing music at 2 a.m. All was quiet when a deputy arrived, and lights were out in the neighborhood.

SAN GERONIMO - Burglars broke into a school shed on North Meadow Way and stole tools and equipment.

BOLINAS - A resident complained about a motorist camping in a pickup truck with camper shell parked at Poplar and Tulip roads. The resident said the motorist's belongings were scattered about and that the truck had become an ongoing problem. The motorist told a deputy his truck's clutch wasn't working but that he would move the pickup that afternoon. The deputy admonished the motorist, who cleaned up his garbage. A day earlier, a neighbor had complained to deputies that the motorist had threatened him. And the day before that, the resident's wife had called deputies to complain about the mess.

MARSHALL - A woman at Nick's Cove called deputies at 9 p.m. to report that a man had started a fire while he waited for his wife, who had been taken to a hospital with a bee sting. A deputy gave the man a ride into town.

TOMALES - After a deputy on Friday posted an eviction notice at a rental on Railroad Avenue, the landlady called to complain her tenants were bothering her. She said they were now in the crawl space under her house shining flashlights. A deputy gave her advice.

WOODACRE - A woman at 12:15 a.m. reported a man at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Railroad Avenue was waving his arms. He might be having car trouble, she said.

STINSON BEACH - A man complained of being hit by a hang glider while on the beach near Seadrift. A deputy gave him advice and noted the incident was within the jurisdiction of Park Service Police.

BOLINAS - A landlord told deputies he had evicted a 43-year-old tenant from a home on Wharf Road but that she was now in the residence. He asked a deputy to warn her that she was trespassing.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman complained that children every morning on their way to school tease her dog. She said the dog jumped on one kid last Thursday, and the Humane Society was called. She said she has unsuccessfully tried talking with the children. A deputy reported he would call her.

BOLINAS - Paramedics responded to Ocean Parkway when an 18 year old had leg pains.

MARSHALL - A vehicle ran off Highway 1 a mile north of downtown at 11 a.m. The driver, an 18- or 19-year-old boy did not appear to be seriously hurt but might be drunk, deputies were told.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident told deputies a vandal had scratched her front door.

BOLINAS - A man on Birch Road reported his 18-year-old son was out of control and causing a disturbance over some property. The disturbance was abated before a deputy arrived, and both were gone.

BOLINAS - A 17-year-old girl did not return from school after having an argument with her parents the previous week. She reportedly said she cannot live under her father's rules.

TOMALES - A woman at 11:40 p.m. reported a red car had been driving up and down in front of her house, had pulled into her driveway, and then had driven off. She said the car was "very loud." It was gone when a deputy arrived.

LAGUNITAS - A woman living along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard complained at midnight about juveniles "messing around." A deputy found several 12 year olds "just playing in the area."

BOLINAS - A man living on Brighton Avenue at 2:20 a.m. reported 12 people were fighting outside, some yelling that they were going to kill each other. One man was hit in the face but did not require medical attention.

INVERNESS - A resident at 4 a.m. complained about people yelling and screaming. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.

SAN GERONIMO - A man at 6 a.m. complained about construction noise. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.

NICASIO - A deputy found a van with Montana plates parked along Point Reyes-Petaluma Road near the reservoir. A man was sleeping in the van, and the officer moved him along.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD - A deputy stood by for the Humane Society after a vehicle hit a deer on the roadway between Laurel Canyon Road and the dam. The animal's hind end was injured.

INVERNESS PARK - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident reported that his 16-year-old son had "smashed up the family car by jumping on the vehicle." The father asked a deputy to speak to his son.

OLEMA - A woman driving a pickup truck on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard reported that another woman, who was driving a car, had smashed the car's front end while tailgating the truck. The truck driver described the second driver as a young woman with blonde hair driving a Mitsubishi.

MARSHALL - A Highway 1 resident reported receiving two annoying phone calls in two days.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard woman reported a dumptruck had dumped a load of concrete on public property. The truck was gone when a deputy arrived.

FOUR CORNERS - A man reported loose cows on the roadway and a break in a fence.

POINT REYES STATION - A man at 9:45 p.m. reported a light-colored pickup truck doing wheelies on the north end of the main street. Soon afterward, a dark coupe started spinning donuts in the same area, circling the water-and-air island at a gas station and nearly hitting the island. A deputy admonished the driver.

SAN GERONIMO - Deputies at 1 a.m. received a report of a very slow-moving brown car with no hubcaps driving on the wrong side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

INVERNESS - A merchant at 11 a.m. reported a woman in her 50s and wearing no shoes was wandering onto and off of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, as well as yelling into a payphone. A deputy determined the woman was not insane.

CORRECTION - An item in last week's column incorrectly said the driver of a newspaper-delivery truck had reported another vehicle had nearly struck a jogger at Evergreen and Mesa roads. In fact, it was the delivery truck that nearly hit the jogger. The Light apologizes for the mistake.

 

October 7, 1999 Sheriff's Calls

BOLINAS -While a woman attended a party on Overlook Road, a thief stole her purse containing $35. A citizen found the purse minus the money a few blocks away.

INVERNESS - A deputy at 6:15 p.m. arrested a citizen on charges of public drunkenness. When the citizen turned out to be wanted for a parole violation, he was jailed.

MARSHALL - A woman, who at 8:10 p.m. was reported missing, was later found sleeping in a car in Bolinas, waiting to go to work.

NICASIO - A man on Old Rancheria Road at 9 p.m. reported receiving two annoying phone calls from an unknown person.

BOLINAS - A man was arrested on charges of vandalizing a woman's vehicle because she was having an affair with another man.

POINT REYES STATION - A construction company reported a business check had been stolen in the mail, altered, and cashed in Richmond. West Marin deputies took a report for Richmond Police.

FOREST KNOLLS - Two deputies seized 17 marijuana plants growing uphill from Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and destroyed them at the county corporation yard in Nicasio.

FOUR CORNERS - After a deer was hit in traffic, a deputy checked to see if it was still alive. The animal was dead beside the road.

INVERNESS PARK - A man at 11 a.m. reported a malamute was howling nonstop. He said the dog had a foxtail in his nose the previous day and might be in pain. A deputy left a note at the owner's house.

BOLINAS - A man at 11:20 a.m. asked deputies to move along a drunken man and woman. He said the pair were "not causing any problems other than the normal ones." A deputy moved them along.

POINT REYES STATION - Petaluma Police found a vandalized car belonging to a woman who works in a Point Reyes Station restaurant. The woman said the car is driven by her son.

BOLINAS - A woman complained about a "group of regular drunks" making noise in front of a church. A deputy moved them along.

POINT REYES STATION - A citizen reported a cow was loose on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. It was returned to its pasture by its owner.

OLEMA - A man at 11 p.m. reported that a drunken pedestrian in her 40s was screaming and trying to get into a room at an inn. She had a bloody lip, he added. Deputies determined the woman was a guest at the inn, and she went to her room to go to bed.

OLEMA - Half an hour later, a woman reported hearing a female screaming in the area but did not see her. A deputy checked to see if the screamer was the drunken pedestrian, but she was quiet and in her room.

BOLINAS - A man at 1 a.m. reported that a vehicle had hit a parked car at Brighton and Park avenues. The driver, who received injuries to her mouth, said she had fallen asleep at the wheel.

BOLINAS - The driver of a newspaper-delivery truck at 7 a.m. reported that a motorist had almost hit a jogger at Evergreen and Mesa roads.

BOLINAS - An Ocean Parkway resident complained about noise in his neighborhood the night before.

BOLINAS - A woman on Wharf Road found another woman's cosmetic bag, which contained the second woman's paycheck. A deputy returned the bag to her.

DILLON BEACH - A Park Avenue woman told deputies it appeared that someone had tried to break into her house the previous day. A deputy determined there had been no attempted break-in.

LUCAS VALLEY ROAD - A man complained about seven or eight reckless motorcyclists passing over double lines on blind curves. The eastbound bikers were forcing cars to pull over, he said. Deputies notified the Highway Patrol.

SAN GERONIMO - A resident complained that cars in the area were not pulling over enough to let emergency vehicles pass.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD - Firefighters responded when a motorcyclist crashed. The Highway Patrol was also notified.

INVERNESS - A woman called deputies to say she had let a man sleep in her basement as a favor and that the man, now drunk, was heading back toward her house for another night. She said she didn't want him. The man was wearing a backpack, she added.

MARSHALL - An oyster grower reported cows were on Highway 1 at Millerton Gulch. A deputy herded the cows off the highway and noted there were several breaks in a pasture's fence.

BOLINAS - A man complained about noise in the Dogwood Road area, and a deputy gave him advice.

LAGUNITAS - An Arroyo Road resident asked to talk with deputies about ongoing problems with a tenant downstairs. An officer gave him advice.

FOREST KNOLLS - A woman called deputies from Guadalupe Place to report that eight to 10 juveniles were drinking in the town park. A deputy who checked found no alcoholic beverages, only kids having a barbecue.

SAN GERONIMO - San Anselmo Police asked deputies to provide traffic control after PG&E lines fell down at San Geronimo Valley Drive and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

MUIR BEACH - A Bolinas attorney asked to speak to the sheriff about people in a recreational vehicle camping overnight at the Muir Beach overlook. He said deputies had refused to respond to his complaint the previous evening, and now the campers had left after dumping garbage and waste. The attorney added that Caltrans was cleaning up the garbage.

MARSHALL - Deputies at 12:40 p.m. received word that an elderly motorist's vehicle was creating a traffic hazard at Highway 1 and Millerton Gulch. The vehicle might be stalled, officers were told. When deputies looked for the vehicle, it was gone.

POINT REYES STATION - A Bolinas man at 2 p.m. showed up at the West Marin Sheriff's Substation wanting to talk about violence he is experiencing. However, he left before a deputy arrived.

LAGUNITAS - A King Road woman complained about a man with a straw sun hat walking across her property in the Mount Barnabe area.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman at 9 p.m. reported receiving harassing phone calls.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 10:30 a.m. reported a man wearing a straw hat was on the roof of a storage shed behind her house. She said he was cutting up a small animal, possibly a fawn or dog.

FOREST KNOLLS - A woman on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard reported a man was yelling at her and threatening her. Deputies arrested him on charges of poaching.

POINT REYES STATION - A motorcyclist riding on Highway 1 at 11:40 a.m. was cited for driving despite a suspended license, was arrested on a warrant, and his motorcycle was towed away.

TOMALES - The Humane Society notified deputies that a deer had been hit in traffic on Highway 1 the previous day. The deer's back was broken, and it should be put out of its misery as soon as possible, the Humane Society told officers.

STINSON BEACH - A deer was hit in traffic on Highway 1 at 3 p.m. The animal was gone when a deputy arrived.

BOLINAS - A Fern Road man at 9 a.m. reported someone had stolen items from his home and car. He gave deputies the name of a suspect. Officers said the problem appeared to be a civil-law dispute between two brothers and gave the first brother advice. While on Brighton Avenue, the previous day, the second brother was cited on charges of creating a public disturbance.

TOMALES - The Humane Society reported there was a sick deer at the Walker Creek Bridge along Highway 1. A deputy could not find the animal.

MUIR BEACH - When a Sunset Way resident at 2:30 p.m. told a motorist he could not park in a certain place, the motorist became irate and in driving off smashed the resident's garbage can, the resident told deputies.

INVERNESS - An man reported a fraud involving a log splitter. Deputies took a report.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Juarez Avenue man complained about noise from wood splitting and chipping, loud vehicles, and barking dogs that altogether were giving him a "nervous condition." A deputy found no violation of the law.

WOODACRE - Deputies at 2:30 p.m. arrested a man at Central Avenue and Park Street on a Contra Costa County warrant charging him with continuous sexual abuse of a child.

INVERNESS PARK - A woman complained that two county trucks were parked side by side at Sir Francis Drake and Vallejo Avenue. She said vehicles had to drive into oncoming traffic to get around the trucks.
