October 29, 1998 Sheriff's Calls

HICKS VALLEY - A motorist at 7:45 p.m. had stopped at Novato Boulevard and Point Reyes-Petaluma Road to look for some kittens when she spotted a man aged 30 to 40, who was naked except for a fishing hat. She left promptly.

OLEMA - A motorist driving on Bear Valley Road hit a deer. She told deputies the deer's rear legs might have been broken, but an officer determined the deer was okay.

STINSON BEACH - A burglar broke into a car parked on Arenal Avenue and stole a backpack, keys, a wallet containing $50, and asthma medicine.

OLEMA - A woman driving a van on Highway 1 at 11:30 p.m. was arrested by a deputy on a warrant from Utah.

MARSHALL - A burglar stole 1,000 oysters valued at $500 from an oyster company's tanks.

TOMALES - A merchant reported that a vandal had broken the front window of her business.

SAN GERONIMO - A room at the school was vandalized.

OLEMA - A deputy on Highway 1 arrested a man on charges of public drunkenness. The man was also wanted on a San Bernardino County warrant.

SAN GERONIMO - A deputy on Sylvestris Drive at 11 p.m. cited a man on charges of possessing a small amount of marijuana and arrested him on charges of resisting arrest.

STINSON BEACH - A burglar stole two journals from a woman's house on Dipsea Road.

BOLINAS - A Larch Road resident reported that sometime in the last two months, someone had stolen a $5,000 signed Norman Rockwell painting from her home.

INVERNESS - A burglar stole tools from a garage at a construction site on Sherwood Street, a man reported.

BOLINAS - A woman notified deputies that a man had tried to run over her dog. When an officer phoned her, she said she didn't want to talk with him and hung up.

STINSON BEACH - A man reported that a previous tenant had stolen his landlady's $65 toaster oven.

BOLINAS - A motorist notified deputies he was driving on Overlook Drive when a dog ran through an open gate and was struck by his vehicle. He said the dog did not appear to be injured and was picked up by its owner. However, the owner was now making threatening remarks, the motorist said. A deputy gave him advice.

WOODACRE - A Sylvan Way man was talking on the phone with his brother in Monterey when the brother had a seizure. Marin deputies notified Monterey County deputies, who sent medical help.

POINT REYES STATION - A motorcycle broke down on Highway 1 at Cypress Road.

LAGUNITAS - A man told San Anselmo Police he had just learned that a vehicle involved in a petty theft in San Anselmo was now in the parking lot of the Lagunitas Postoffice. San Anselmo Police asked deputies to look for the vehicle, but it was gone before an officer arrived on the scene.

PLATFORM BRIDGE - A car driving on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road at Laurel Canyon Road hit a rock slide, flattening two tires.

SAN GERONIMO - A man reported a truck was dumping water on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at Nicasio Valley Road. A deputy determined the truck was a street sweeping vehicle.

SAN GERONIMO - A man complained about mud on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at Meadow Way. He said the mud was from a construction site, and a deputy contacted the contractor, who said he would take care of the problem.

SAN GERONIMO - Deputies received a complaint of people trespassing on a construction site.

BOLINAS - A Wharf Road resident reported hearing gunshots on the beach and said she believed someone was target shooting.

MUIR BEACH - A Highway 1 resident reported receiving harassing mail from someone she used to work with.

TOMALES - Deputies received an anonymous complaint about five or six people talking loudly outside a business at 10:20 p.m. The merchant handled the problem.

BOLINAS - A man at 1:50 a.m. complained about a loud party on the beach. A deputy got the music turned off and dispersed 20 people.

INVERNESS - A Vision Road resident at noon reported that a man in a purple vehicle stopped at the resident's home, took off his clothes, and walked around the resident's property. The resident said the man was now outside his front window.

INVERNESS PARK - A woman living along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard complained that her new neighbors were playing loud music at 11 p.m. A deputy contacted the neighbors, who said they had been moving in all day and were exhausted.

WOODACRE - A Pine Avenue resident said another man had come to his door and reported that a former Pine Avenue resident was dead and buried in concrete at an abandoned Pine Avenue house. A deputy reported that the second man is emotionally disturbed and that there was no merit to his account.

POINT REYES STATION - A therapist told deputies that a woman was due to come in for an appointment but that the woman's boyfriend had threatened to stop her. A deputy gave the therapist advice. Earlier, a merchant in Forest Knolls reported that the boyfriend had threatened to harm his girlfriend.

MARSHALL - Deputies at 5 a.m. received a report of loose cows on Highway 1. When officers called a nearby rancher, the rancher's answering machine said that there had been a break in a pasture's fence and the rancher was now trying to fix it.

STINSON BEACH - A woman at 10 p.m. reported that a 25-year-old man on probation was drunk and disturbing neighbors. Deputies were unable to confirm the report.

DOGTOWN - A man notified deputies that a man and a woman in a van had a dispute, and the woman had gotten out and was walking in the middle of Highway 1. A deputy checked and found that the woman's son was having medical problems and she was worried.

POINT REYES STATION - A man complained that a woman has his keys and won't return them. A deputy gave him advice.

 

October 22, 1998 Sheriff's Calls

NICASIO - A couple from Portland, Oregon, reported their vehicle had been broken into while parked on Laurel Canyon Road. Taken was a bag containing a camera and personal items together worth $989.50.

PLATFORM BRIDGE - Deputies responded to a report that a vehicle had run off Platform Bridge Road and was part way down a bank of Papermill Creek. When officers arrived, they instead discovered the vehicle had been dumping trash and had now left.

POINT REYES STATION - A couple who had been living together 2.5 years got into a quarrel when the woman got angry at the man over the color of paint he had chosen. She allegedly scratched his face and was arrested on charges of abusing a cohabitant.

TOMALES - A 19-year-old boy threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and her mother, the mother told deputies. She said her daughter had been assaulted in Petaluma by his new girlfriend and three other girls. The mother also quoted him as saying her daughter was going to be assaulted continually. She added that he threatened her when she would not let him speak with her daughter. Petaluma police took a report from the mother and daughter.

STINSON BEACH - A vandal turned on an outdoor faucet at a vacation house on Dipsea Road, allowing water to run for two months. There was no damage to the house, but a total of $4,000 worth of water was lost.

TOMALES - After a romantic relationship between two women on the Tomales-Petaluma Road broke up, one woman began hassling the other. The second woman, who is 42, told deputies at 11 p.m. that the first woman grabbed and pushed her. She performed a citizen's arrest on the first woman, charging her with battery on a cohabitant.

NICASIO - A homeless man hung around Nicasio Square for a few days and then began causing problems. When a deputy questioned him, he gave his first name and refused to speak from that point on. The officer took the man to the county crisis unit, and his dog was turned over to the Humane Society.

POINT REYES STATION - A landlord asked deputies for advice after his tenant allowed a homeless woman to park in his driveway on Lorraine Avenue. She has refused to leave and has been parked in the driveway six weeks, the landlord said. An officer gave him advice.

MUIR BEACH - A man on Pacific Way notified deputies he has a World War II artillery shell. He said he believes the shell is unarmed but asked an officer to check it out.

SAN GERONIMO - The school principal asked for extra patrols on the weekend because of recent vandalism.

DILLON BEACH - A deputy on Oceana Drive arrested a man on a Shasta County warrant in connection with a family-support case.

STINSON BEACH - An anonymous caller told deputies that "numerous males" in a house on Calle del Piños had been arguing for 30 minutes and that he had heard one of them ask the others if they were "going to settle the problem with knives."

WOODACRE - Two women complained about a public address system and loud music coming from a home on Ridge Rock Road. One woman said she was a policewoman in another county and wanted to make a citizen's arrest on the hosts. The other woman said the hosts were holding a commercial party, which the Planning Department has said is not allowed. When a deputy arrived, the music was not loud.

POINT REYES STATION - A landlord on Knob Hill Road got into a dispute with his tenants, whom he had evicted and who are supposed to move out by the end of this month. Deputies were told the landlord had ripped a phone out of the wall.

BOLINAS -A man complained about another man's lying on Brighton Beach wearing only a hat. He added that children and other people were on the beach. A deputy told the sunbather to put his pants back on.

STINSON BEACH - A woman called deputies from Arenal Avenue to report her daughter's finger had been bitten by a dog, which was being walked by a man and his girlfriend. However, when officers arrived on the scene, the mother was gone.

WOODACRE - A man complained about loud music coming from a residence on Rock Ridge Road. A deputy checked and found an adult party (with guests in their 60s) was underway, and the music was low.

DILLON BEACH - A vandal in Oceana Marin subdivision cut an electrified barbed-wire fence. Subdivision residents for months complained that cows were getting out of a neighboring pasture and wandering through their yards, damaging gardens. Finally, the owner of the cows put up a barbed-wire fence. However, the fence has now been cut twice. The first time, a subdivision resident said he cut the barbed wire because it was too rusty.

FALLON - A woman reported a loose cow at Whitaker Bluff Road and Valley Ford-Franklin School Road. From a brand on the cow, deputies were able to determine its owner and notify him.

POINT REYES STATION - A motorist and his daughter became stranded on Highway 1 when they ran out of gas at 11:30 p.m. A deputy arranged for them to get gasoline from a towing company.

FALLON - A woman living along the Fallon-Two Rock Road reported at 12:45 a.m. that someone was in her car, which was parked in her driveway.

FOREST KNOLLS - A Montezuma Avenue resident reported his girlfriend was outside his house at 12:50 a.m. and that he wanted her off the premises.

BOLINAS - An Iris Road resident got into an argument with a man over where the man was parking his van while working in the neighborhood.

FOREST KNOLLS - Deputies received a complaint of two men drinking in the town park. An officer checked and found the men were not drinking.

BOLINAS - Deputies received a report of two men "terrorizing" people on the beach. The two were gone when an officer arrived.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman at 1:10 a.m. reported a vehicle was driving back and forth on Fifth Street, speeding up, and slamming on its brakes. A deputy could not find the vehicle.

DILLON BEACH - A man at 2:30 a.m. reported hearing five gunshots and seeing a van leaving the area on Dillon Beach Road.

TOMALES - A man notified deputies that a man with a tow truck was trying to take a woman's vehicle and that "drug problems" were involved. The two were yelling at each other, he said.

SAN GERONIMO - A woman with her two-year-old son and two dogs walked into the woods from Tamarack Drive and got lost. She emerged from the woods on Montezuma Avenue and went into a house to call for a ride home. While she was in the house, the owner came home and was advised of the problem.

LAGUNITAS - A man reported seeing a 10- or 11-year-old boy with an automatic pistol walking along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

BOLINAS - Deputies received a report that a 55-year-old "known alcoholic" was drunk and refusing to leave a bar. However, he was gone when an officer arrived.

INVERNESS PARK - A 25-year-old woman called deputies at 2:20 a.m. to report her boyfriend had ordered her out of a car on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and that she needed a ride home to San Anselmo. She added that her boyfriend had the keys to her car. A deputy called a cab for her.

INVERNESS - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard woman reported her car had been vandalized during the night.

SAN GERONIMO - After a vehicle hit a possum on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, a deputy was called to shoot the animal and put it out of its misery. However, the possum died first.

WOODACRE - A woman reported finding a toddler on Redwood Drive. Not long afterwards, the toddler's mother reported him missing, and the two were reunited.

TOCALOMA - After a motorist became stranded when his brakes failed, a deputy called a tow truck for him.

TOMALES - A vandal damaged a fence along Dillon Beach Road.

MARSHALL - A motorist at 11 p.m. reported hitting a deer on Highway 1.

 

October 15, 1998 Sheriff's Calls

STINSON BEACH - A deputy at Calle del Piños and Highway 1 stopped a motorist with an expired vehicle-registration tag. When the man appeared drunk, the officer turned him over to a Highway Patrolman, who arrested the motorist on drunk-driving charges.

BOLINAS - Firefighters at 3:25 a.m. found an intoxicated man lying on the ground at Mesa and Olema-Bolinas roads. A deputy arrested him on charges of public drunkenness.

STINSON BEACH - A deputy at 11 p.m. stopped a bicyclist for riding without lights or reflectors. The officer then arrested the bicyclist on charges of public drunkenness.

NICASIO - A man on Old Rancheria Road found a bag of books near his home. The owner was located, and the books were returned.

STINSON BEACH - Two drivers got into a dispute about one allegedly tailgating the other. When one driver hit the other driver in the face, the second driver performed a citizen's arrest on battery charges against the other man.

STINSON BEACH - A vandal at Calle del Arroyo and Calle del Ribera broke the window of a woman's parked car.

INVERNESS - A Pine Hill Road man at 4:10 a.m. reported someone was knocking at his door. Since his yard was secured, the knocker had to have climbed over a fence, the man said.

POINT REYES STATION - A Mesa Road resident told deputies she gave a homeless woman (with children nine and 14) shelter for the night. However, in the morning the homeless woman "went crazy," the resident said, and a deputy stood by while the homeless woman and her children left the residence.

HAMLET - A woman reported that someone driving a black pickup truck may have been the culprit who dumped trash beside Highway 1 five weeks ago.

FOREST KNOLLS - A woman reported someone stole property and cash from her former home on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. A deputy noted the woman is now homeless.

STINSON BEACH - Park Service police asked deputies to back them up in dealing with three drunks. The federal police later reported the drunks were not fighting and called off the backup.

POINT REYES STATION - A citizen on Highway 1 reported a motorist was possibly armed. A deputy checked and determined the motorist was a highway worker.

MARSHALL - A man reported seeing a suspicious person north of Reynolds. He said the person was not armed.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman complained of three or four juveniles riding bicycles on senior-housing property.

INVERNESS PARK - A resident at 9:15 p.m. reported hearing a man yell for help and for the police. After calling deputies, the resident checked his neighborhood and found his neighbors "horsing around."

SAN GERONIMO - A juvenile reported three other juveniles were trying to steal his bicycle. Deputies determined the call came from the school and checked with a teacher, who said it all appeared to be a childish joke.

STINSON BEACH - A woman at 9:40 p.m. notified deputies she had spotted her husband's vehicle near her house even though a court order requires him to stay away from her.

HICKS VALLEY - A utility company's truck ran off the Marshall-Petaluma Road, causing minor injuries to the driver.

HICKS VALLEY - The county Department of Public Works reported a crash on Novato Boulevard, possibly involving a drunk driver. The Highway Patrol handled the incident.

TOMALES - A high school coach at 3 p.m. reported a physical disturbance involving two girls, with one girl punching the other in the face. A deputy referred the case to the Probation Department.

HICKS VALLEY - A deer was hit by a vehicle at Novato Boulevard and Point Reyes-Petaluma Road, creating a traffic hazard. A deputy moved the carcass off the roadway.

TOMALES - A man at 1:30 a.m. told deputies there was a loose horse on Highway 1. An officer could not find it.

LAGUNITAS - A woman reported receiving obscene messages on her answering machine from a man threatening to kill her daughter, as well as the rest of her family.

 

October 8, 1998 Sheriff's Calls

BOLINAS - A burglar entered a house on Ocean Parkway and stole $400 in cash.

OLEMA - A woman sustained minor injuries to her face when allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend. A deputy arrested him on charges of injuring a cohabitant.

OLEMA - A deputy found a wallet on a store's counter and took it to the sheriff's substation, so it could be returned to the owner.

STINSON BEACH - A Buena Vista Avenue resident saw a male on her porch at 1:25 a.m. Deputies could not find him.

BOLINAS - A deputy on Wharf Road arrested a man on charges of public drunkenness.

CHILENO VALLEY - A Petaluma man told deputies that while he was visiting a Chileno Valley ranch, a resident chased him with a stick and hit him on the left side. The Petaluma man also reported that his windshield was broken by the other man.

NICASIO - A man on Lucas Valley Road reported losing his wallet.

TOMALES - A woman, who was depressed that her boyfriend had ended a short relationship with her, threatened to kill herself. A deputy transported her to the county crisis unit.

POINT REYES STATION - A helicopter landed next to the levee road, picked up a male who was having trouble breathing, and took him to a hospital.

BOLINAS - A man told a deputy that a man on Wharf Road has secured a court order forbidding the first man to come near him. However, the first man said, the second man harasses him whenever he walks by. A deputy gave him advice.

BOLINAS - A vehicle caught fire at Wharf Road and Brighton Avenue at 3 p.m. Town firefighters put out the fire.

WOODACRE - A man on Ridge Rock Road reported that someone had broken into his trailer. He didn't know if anything had been taken, but the intruder had left trash behind. A deputy determined there had been no burglar, only neighborhood girls.

LAGUNITAS - A man complained of a campfire along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and people sleeping in a van. The problem was abated before a deputy arrived.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman complained that a neighbor was using a chainsaw at 11 p.m. All was quiet when a deputy checked.

BOLINAS - A merchant at 1:30 a.m. reported four or five males fighting on Wharf Road. He said the combatants had been separated, but they looked like they were ready to start fighting again.

BOLINAS - A bicyclist fell down at the intersection of Mesa Road and Olema-Bolinas Road at 2:30 a.m. A deputy noted the man had been drinking - but not enough to charge with public drunkenness - so friends took him home.

SAN GERONIMO - A woman said it made her suspicious to see a pickup truck and a sedan drive up Chaparral Lane and then head up Redwood Canyon Road, which is a dead-end road. A deputy determined the vehicles were carrying a crew en route to clean up graffiti.

FALLON - A woman on Fallon-Two Rock Road reported there was an unwanted woman at her home. A deputy was told that the second woman had terminated the first woman's employment two days earlier but had been letting her stay on the property.

LAGUNITAS - A woman's purse was found on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. It was returned to its owner with the contents intact.

POINT REYES STATION - A merchant reported a verbal dispute with a biker riding a multi-colored Harley motorcycle.

BOLINAS - A merchant reported that two men in their 40s were stumbling around the Wharf Road-Brighton Avenue intersection. They were gone when a deputy arrived.

CHILENO VALLEY - An anonymous caller notified deputies that a male and female were "making out" on Wettmore Lane at 9 p.m. The caller believes "they are involved in intimate relations" and do not belong there, officers reported.

INVERNESS PARK - A woman reported that her ex-husband was checking messages on her answering machine.

INVERNESS PARK - Deputies at 11 p.m. handled a non-injury traffic accident at Bear Valley Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

WOODACRE - A Carson Road resident complained that a truck was parked partially on the roadway, creating a traffic hazard. He also said the truck's location was making it difficult for him to leave his driveway safely.

BOLINAS - A woman on Shipper Lane reported a vandal had broken a glass panel around her swimming pool.

LAGUNITAS - A deputy tried to contact a man who may have driven off from a San Rafael gas station without paying. The officer left a message for the man to contact him.

BOLINAS - A man and woman on Elm Road got into a verbal disturbance. The problem was abated.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman reported her 17-year-old stepdaughter had threatened her with a knife when she wanted the girl to leave. A deputy determined there was no merit to the complaint.

BOLINAS - A woman at 11:30 a.m. complained about loud music around the church at Wharf Road and Brighton Avenue. All was quiet when a deputy arrived, but at 12:30 p.m., a man and an anonymous caller separately complained of loud rap music at the intersection. Deputies were later told the music had stopped, but people that shouldn't be there were on the church's property.

STINSON BEACH - A woman complained that her ex-husband was at her residence in violation of a court order.

LAGUNITAS - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard man reported receiving death threats over the phone from an unknown woman.

STINSON BEACH - Mill Valley Police notified West Marin deputies that a Mill Valley man was fraudulently using a Stinson Beach woman's credit cards.

BOLINAS - A man reported an instance of underage sexual activity. A deputy gave him advice.

FALLON - Deputies received a report of a dead cow causing a traffic hazard near the bridge on Valley Ford-Franklin School Road just south of Whitaker Bluff Road.

TOMALES - A woman reported her son had been assaulted at a soccer game and that she had taken him to see a doctor.

TOMALES - A woman complained about drunks buying alcohol.

LAGUNITAS - A woman told deputies her son found two $100 bills. She said a man claims to have lost them, but they don't believe him. Officers took a report.

POINT REYES STATION - A Bolinas merchant went to the sheriff's substation to report losing $900 in cash somewhere between Novato and Bolinas.

TOMALES - A 15-year-old boy was cited for running away.

BOLINAS - A man complained that people had been illegally living in a house trailer beside Bolinas Lagoon for two days. A deputy determined there was no vehicular habitation and that the people would be leaving.

PLATFORM BRIDGE - A deputy shot a deer injured in traffic.

MARSHALL - A man told deputies he was involved in a dispute over the construction of a fence near Highway 1. A deputy reported, "The dispute goes back to the 1930s."

SAN GERONIMO - A man complained of youths on Lagunitas School Road throwing bottles at cars.

October 1, 1998 Sheriff's Calls

POINT REYES STATION - A week ago a restaurateur notified deputies a thief had stolen her "Live Music Tonight" sign that had been carved by the late Art Disterheft, for whom the West Marin Sheriff's Substation is named. This week she told The Light thieves have now ripped organic produce out of her restaurant's vegetable garden.

STINSON BEACH - A family came home to discover all their dirty laundry missing and their refrigerator cleaned out. In fact, their entire house had been cleaned. Deputies subsequently determined that a cleaning company had accidentally cleaned the wrong house.

POINT REYES STATION - Two boys strung green, garden tape across Highway 1 at the Green Bridge. Three vehicles hit the tape, and the boys were seen going under the bridge. A deputy detained the boys and reprimanded them.

NATIONAL SEASHORE - A San Francisco man on Pierce Point found a plastic box wrapped in duct tape. Inside the box were the decomposing remains of a cat.

BOLINAS - A merchant reported her husband had threatened to kill her. She said he pushed her in the chest, causing her to fall. Deputies went to their business and while searching it allegedly found marijuana residue in a pipe and two cans containing small amounts of pot. An employee was cited for possession of marijuana, and the husband was jailed on assault charges. Deputies also found a .38 caliber revolver in a safe and took the gun for safekeeping.

OLEMA - A woman turned in a license plate that had been found in the National Seashore.

POINT REYES STATION - A burglar stole a toolbox from a man's truck parked along Highway 1. The man estimated the loss at $500.

POINT REYES STATION - A man turned himself in at the sheriff's substation, saying he was wanted for a parole violation. He was arrested.

BOLINAS - A man on Wharf Road pushed another man to the floor of a business. Deputies determined it was a case of "mutual combat."

STINSON BEACH - A deputy on Calle del Piños used pepper spray to keep a dog at bay.

FOREST KNOLLS - A deputy at Montezuma Road and Aztec Avenue arrested a citizen on charges of public drunkenness.

MARSHALL - A woman reported her boyfriend battered her and prevented her from leaving or screaming for help. She said he threatened to kill if she reported the incident. A deputy reported her hand was bleeding.

NICASIO - A Lucas Valley Road resident complained that a neighbor took wood that she considered hers.

MARSHALL - A thief in the area of Nick's Cove stole a woman's purse containing a wallet and cash. Her fiancé later reported getting back some of the purse's contents from a person who may have been the thief.

WOODACRE - A burglar stole a stereo from a vehicle parked on Castle Rock Avenue.

STINSON BEACH - A burglar broke into a vehicle parked on Belvedere Avenue but took nothing.

INVERNESS PARK - A Vallejo Avenue resident complained that a boat on a trailer has been parked across the street from her house for a week. She said the boat should be moved.

BOLINAS - A man on Wharf Road complained of people burning large logs, which were filling downtown with smoke. Firefighters responded.

DILLON BEACH - A man on Oceana Drive complained of a loose cow near his home. Later he reported more loose cows. Loose cows have been an off-again, on-again issue in the town's Oceana Marin subdivision for nearly a year.

BOLINAS - Two people were spotted jumping over the fence of a home along Highway 1. After the two told deputies they are friends of the resident, the resident confirmed they are.

BOLINAS - A woman reported spotting two Jet Skiers in Bolinas Lagoon's channel, but a deputy could not find them.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD - A trustee of Union School complained of people playing soccer on the school grounds. The soccer was less of a problem than the beer cans and other litter they left behind, she said.

LAGUNITAS - A woman reported that her daughter, who is on psychiatric medicine, had told her over the phone that she has no place to stay.

NICASIO - A woman on Lucas Valley Road complained that a male neighbor harassed her. A deputy gave her advice.

MARSHALL - A woman reported receiving a call from her 14-year-old son, who was with his father, and the boy said his father was intoxicated. The woman told deputies that a court order forbids her ex-husband from drinking when he is with his son.

LAGUNITAS - Firefighters attended to a woman who had a seizure, and then took her home.

OLEMA - Deputies received a report of three steers on a roadway. A rancher handled the problem.

POINT REYES STATION - A woman complained that a child with a BB gun was shooting animals and houses. A deputy gave her advice.

HICKS VALLEY - A motorist received minor injuries in a rollover accident on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. A deputy handled the incident until a Highway Patrolman arrived.

INVERNESS - A man on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard reported bonfires on the beach and vandalism to portable toilets. A deputy gave him advice.

LAGUNITAS - A man reported that someone had left obscene messages on his answering machine, including comments about his wife, his daughter, and himself.

BOLINAS - A man complained of having a quarrel with a Wharf Road resident, who had previously threatened to shoot him.

FALLON - A woman reported a deer had been injured at the intersection of Gericke Road and Fallon-Two Rock Road. A deputy could not find the animal.

INVERNESS - A man told deputies he was walking in the area of Camino del Mar and Via del Vista at 11 p.m. when he saw two males hiding from him in the bushes. He said the pair might be burglars casing the neighborhood.

FOREST KNOLLS - A woman complained that someone slept overnight in a car parked on Ascalon Road. A neighbor later saw the car drive away.

STINSON BEACH - A Buena Vista Avenue man reported that he had heard people outside his home at 4 a.m. They were wearing masks but had no visible weapons, he said. They told him he could not come out, but they made no attempt to enter his house, he added. At 8:30 a.m., the people left in three trucks, the man said.

BOLINAS - A Wharf Road resident complained about another townsman banging on his windows and doors at night.

OLEMA - A garbage truck ran off Highway 1 and needed a tow.

NICASIO - A woman on Nicasio Valley Road reported that a visitor from China had accidentally left a bag on top of his car when he drove off. The bag contained his passport, his international driver's license, his wallet, and $4,000.

SAN GERONIMO - Deputies received a report of people taking property from a vacant house. The landlord was not home, but a daughter told deputies she thought the people were tenants moving out.
