October 28, 2004 Sheriff's Calls
LAGUNITAS A Barranca Road resident at 2:11 a.m. Monday notified deputies she and her son had just heard someone knocking at the door and heard a large object or an animal bump a bedroom window.
DILLON BEACH An owner of a campground at 10:14 a.m. Sunday asked deputies for help in removing nine or 10 males and females, aged 17 to 20. She said she had confiscated their pellet gun and asked them to leave because they were being rowdy.
OLEMA A woman at 10:28 a.m. Sunday complained to deputies that a group of men about "21 years old hanging around out front [and] being loud and obnoxious." A deputy quoted her as saying, "She asked them to leave but they refused." However, the group was gone when a deputy arrived on the scene.
BOLINAS A store employee at 11:19 a.m. Sunday complained that a woman had thrown an apple at another customer, aged 40, and "took off her shirt in public and put on a tie-dyed t-shirt." The employee said the woman became upset when she was asked to leave the store and was now "hanging around outside."
HICKS VALLEY A man at 3:04 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that three large, black bags had been dumped in a turnout along the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. He said the refuse had "strong odors [and] flies." The Humane Society responded and found parts of an animals carcass in the bags.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies at 4:12 p.m. Sunday received a report of loose cows along Highway 1 south of the Green Bridge with one cow on the highway. A deputy herded the cows into a veterinarians "corral" and noted there was a break in a neighboring ranchers fence. The rancher fixed the break.
INVERNESS A woman at 4:45 p.m. Sunday called deputies from the East Bay to report she had learned that an older BMW was parked in her driveway and that her furniture had been put out on the deck. No one should be at the house, she said. A deputy determined the BMW was not parked in her driveway but next to it.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD As part of a footrace to draw attention to the need for organ donations, groups of runners took part in a relay from Calistoga to the Golden Gate Bridge Saturday. The run, which started at 4 p.m. and ended at 4 a.m., passed through West Marin on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road, Nicasio Valley Road, and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, with runners wearing reflective vests and carrying flashlights after sunset. However, at 8:30 p.m. when the runners were just east of Union School, someone in a white Honda Accord threw pumpkins and bottles at them, they reported.
JEWELL Deputies at 10:27 p.m. Saturday received a report that a 40-foot tree had fallen onto Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, blocking the westbound lane. The tree was described as 15 inches in diameter. At approximately the same time, deputies received a report that another tree had fallen onto the Bolinas-Fairfax Road, blocking both lanes.
POINT REYES STATION A citizen at 9:35 a.m. Saturday turned in a wallet found near the bank. Subsequently, a woman gave deputies a Wells Fargo credit card she had found. Deputies notified Wells Fargo.
FOUR CORNERS A woman at 11:58 a.m. Saturday reported a vehicle had overturned on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. She said two people were walking around the vehicle and talking on cell phones.
STINSON BEACH A Calle de la Ribera resident at 3:51 p.m. Saturday told deputies a woman in her 50s had showed up at his home and said "she had been living on the beach three weeks and was drunk." She told the resident she "cannot find her house and needs directions." The resident would not let her into his house. He told deputies she did not have a vehicle with her and that she probably walked off the beach.
TOMALES Firefighters at 4:27 p.m. Saturday reported that someone at the high school had received a neck injury. The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital.
INVERNESS PARK A Portola Avenue resident at 4:57 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that someone, who had broken into her house a few days earlier, broke her bathroom sink. Nothing was stolen, she said.
BOLINAS A dentist on Friday complained that a large white car had been parked outside his business all day with loud music blaring from the cars stereo. He said he wanted the music turned down. The car was gone when a deputy arrived. At 7:09 p.m., however, the dentist called deputies again to say the mans car had returned and was still blaring loud music. The dentist said a "patient got out of the dental chair and confronted [the man]," and a verbal disturbance ensued. The man "threatened to break the patients arms," the dentist said. He added that the man supposedly "went and got a crowbar and is waiting [for the patient]."
STINSON BEACH A woman, who was renting a house on Dipsea Road, at 9:04 p.m. Friday returned home with two friends and found "the back burner of the stove on [and] the back door broken."
BOLINAS Deputies at 2:01 p.m. Friday received a 911 hangup call from Birch Road. When officers called back, they got an answering machine. They then investigated and determined, "Mom was teaching a child how to dial 911."
WOODACRE A woman at 7:11 a.m. last Thursday called deputies from a downtown business and asked them to investigate the sanity of another woman. She said the other woman had battered her the previous night in a different location.
TOMALES Deputies at 4:21 p.m. last Thursday received a report that a vehicle had run off Highway 1 and that a doctor was on the scene. However, no one was injured, and deputies referred the mishap to the Highway Patrol.
HICKS VALLEY A resident at 7:28 p.m. last Wednesday reported that a "pilot vehicle," which guides traffic through areas where roadwork is underway, had damaged her mailbox.
INVERNESS PARK A resident walked into the Point Reyes Station sheriffs substation to report a deer had been killed in traffic on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard but had been dragged off the road.
TOMALES High school staff at 10:12 a.m. last Wednesday notified deputies it had caught a student with "contraband." A deputy cited a student on charges of possessing marijuana and cigarettes.
BOLINAS A Highway 1 man at 10:40 a.m. last Wednesday notified deputies he had two shotguns and shells that he wanted to turn over to them for disposal.
BOLINAS A townsperson, who uses a walker, around noon last Wednesday called 911 from Wharf Road and started screaming. Officers eventually learned he was upset because "a crazy lady hit him from behind," a deputy quoted him as saying. Officers said the 29-year-old woman was "uncooperative" and that both of them "refused to provide statements or show their injuries" to deputies. Officers described the incident as "mutual combat."
BOLINAS A member of the school staff at 1:05 p.m. last Wednesday notified deputies that a man in his 40s had showed up at the school and asked to see a teacher. The woman said she was suspicious of the man because he didnt know the teachers name and "kept saying they will know me." He left the school on foot headed toward downtown.
BOLINAS A woman at 4:15 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies she wanted a court to issue a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend who has been harassing her. She said he had shown up at her house, supposedly to apologize and for awhile refused to leave. She said she had told him to either call or write her instead.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD Firefighters at 7:27 a.m. Oct. 19 reported a blue Ford pickup truck had overturned on Rocky Hill. Deputies referred the mishap to the Highway Patrol.
WOODACRE A resident at 9:49 a.m. Oct. 19 told deputies she had just received a call from a woman who said her AT&T bill had been sent to a collection agency. The woman called AT&T and was told her bill was "fine," she said. She said the woman had asked for her credit card number, but she had refused to give it. The resident said she was concerned that the woman appeared to have additional information on her.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 11:09 a.m. Oct. 19 notified deputies that his garbage can had been "rifled" the previous night. He said he didnt think raccoons were to blame and was concerned that someone was involved in "identity theft."
OLEMA The Highway Patrol at 12:44 p.m. Oct. 19 reported a blue Ford Ranger pickup truck had run off Highway 1 a mile south of Five Brooks. Deputies also received word of a separate motorcycle crash in the area. Officers could not find the motorcycle.
WOODACRE Deputies and medics were summoned at 12:44 p.m. Oct. 19 when an 18 year old reported his aunt, 57, was feeling dizzy and had a rapid and irregular heartbeat. Medics transported her to a hospital by ambulance.
LAGUNITAS A motorist at 3:17 p.m. Oct. 19 reported another motorist driving a tan-colored Thunderbird had hit his Mercedes, and the whole side of his car was "wiped out." He said the second motorist, who had a dog in his car, then fled the scene. The motorist added that the dog was not injured.
INVERNESS A Coast Guard officer at 6:13 p.m. Oct. 19 had a one-car accident at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Vision Road.
POINT REYES STATION A Mesa Road resident at 2:44 a.m. Oct. 19 notified deputies that someone was walking around outside shining a light into trees. She said it was very windy at the time, and a light rain was falling.
BOLINAS An Olema-Bolinas Road resident at 8:39 a.m. Oct. 18 reported a thief had tried to steal an exotic bird from her by cutting its cage.
BOLINAS A Birch Road resident at 2:05 p.m. Oct. 18 reported she had lost a $50 cell phone.
POINT REYES STATION The commander of the sheriffs West Marin substation, Lt. Scott Anderson, has asked The Light to let readers know a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. The Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substations phone number is now 446-4418.
October 21, 2004 Sheriff's Calls
DILLON BEACH A campground operator at 8:09 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that two boys and two girls had burglarized another campers trailer the previous night. Deputies arrested all four, who are accused of partying and drinking in the trailer, along with stealing liquor from it.
FOUR CORNERS The Highway Patrol at 7:10 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that a bull was loose on the side of the road. A deputy stood by while a rancher repaired his fence.
BOLINAS A man at 9:56 p.m. Sunday asked how to get his car keys back, which had been taken away from him by a bartender. A deputy gave him advice.
NICASIO A woman at 1:06 a.m. Monday told deputies a large limb had fallen onto Lucas Valley Road and that she had almost had a collision with another vehicle while avoiding the limb. Deputies referred the matter to the Highway Patrol.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 10:38 a.m. Sunday told deputies he had learned from his three-year-old daughter that his ex-wifes boyfriend, 33, spanks her. He called the spanking child abuse and said there was a small red mark on her.
MARSHALL A Highway 1 resident at 12:16 p.m. Sunday said a vandal has slashed her cars tires on three occasions. A deputy gave her advice.
BOLINAS A woman at 9:50 a.m. Saturday complained that a dark-blue pickup truck with a camper shell had been parked in a handicapped parking zone for several days and that the driver sleeps in the camper at night. She said she had asked him to move his truck, but he had refused to do so.
WOODACRE A woman at 4:08 p.m. last Thursday reported her sister was extremely upset over family problems and the death of her cat. At 5:07 p.m., deputies received a call that the woman was threatening suicide. When deputies contacted her, she agreed to be taken to the country crisis unit for her own safety. At 11:47 a.m. Saturday, firefighters reported the woman was home again, might be mentally disturbed, and had a rapid heart rate. A deputy determined the woman was not mentally disturbed but was suffering from hyper-tension and was unable to find her medication after being in the crisis unit two days.
STINSON BEACH A Calle de la Ribera resident at 12:07 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a swimmer 50 yards offshore might be in distress although his head was still above water. The resident later reported a friend had paddled a surfboard out to the swimmer, picked him up, and paddled them both back to shore. He said the victim was now "out of the water and walking."
BOLINAS A Mesa Road resident at 5 p.m. Saturday complained about hearing loud music for the past two to three hours. A deputy determined a community fundraiser for the park was underway and that the band "will be wrapping it up [with]in the hour."
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 7:20 p.m. Friday reported 10 people had a bonfire on the beach next to a wooden wall. Firefighters responded.
WOODACRE A woman at 9:09 p.m. Friday complained that four boys had trespassed on her property. She said she heard one of them ask, "Did you take the weed [marijuana] out of their car?"
OLEMA A man at 7:34 a.m. Friday notified deputies a deer had injured a leg when struck in traffic at the top of the Olema Hill. He said the deer was still alive. A deputy found the deer, which was unable to get up, and shot it to put it out of its misery.
MARSHALL A man on the Marshall-Petaluma Road at 2:13 p.m. Friday told deputies he had lost his wallet somewhere between Marshall and Bodega Bay. He said the wallet contained his identification, drivers license, and credit cards.
STINSON BEACH A resident at 7:41 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, reported he had returned home from out of town and found a note from a neighbor, with whom he has had problems. The note said that the neighbors cat, along with two stuffed cats, had been shot. The resident said the stuffed cats and clothing had been dumped on his property, a deputy reported, adding that the resident had asked for advice. At 10:06 a.m. last Thursday, the neighbor reported his cat had been shot with a pellet gun. He said he had taken the cat to a veterinarian, who had treated it for a "severe leg injury."
BOLINAS A woman at 12:37 p.m. last Thursday called deputies from a phone booth on Wharf Road to report that a second woman in her 30s was acting as if she were high on drugs. However, the second woman had now left in someones car, she said.
NICASIO The postmaster at 2:47 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies that seven pieces of unopened mail from Mill Valley had been found on Lucas Valley Road.
DILLON BEACH A woman at 6:36 p.m. last Thursday reported that a second woman was screaming at her and threatening her. She said the incident began when she was trying to make a phone call and got into a quarrel with a man. She added that she thought the second woman had been drinking.
MARSHALL A deputy at 7:57 p.m. last Thursday reported he was dealing with a dead deer on Highway 1 two miles south of town.
BOLINAS A member of the county Planning Division at 8:05 a.m. last Wednesday asked a deputy to stand by while she performed an inspection on Juniper Road. A deputy was on hand at 10:18 a.m. for the inspection.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 8:13 a.m. last Wednesday reported a second man, who was not wearing a shirt, was "yelling at people on the beach." The second man was gone when a deputy arrived. At 11:22 a.m. Another Brighton Avenue resident complained about a man who, she said, was "screaming and cursing." The man was gone when a deputy arrived.
BOLINAS A woman at 2:20 p.m. last Thursday complained that a man with a walker had been in front of the library since 11 a.m. screaming and yelling profanities. She said the man may have been drinking and asked for advice.
WOODACRE A woman on Elm Avenue at 2:39 p.m. last Wednesday reported a 64-year-old man had "almost severed a hand with an electric saw." Medics responded.
INVERNESS A Madrone Avenue resident at 5:41 p.m. last Wednesday complained that someone had been playing a harmonica since 4 p.m. A deputy later reported that the woman and the harmonica player were now in touch with each other, and she would call the harmonica player if she were disturbed by it again.
OLEMA A Highway 1 merchant at 1:06 p.m. Oct. 12 reported having trouble getting a female employee in her 30s to leave the premises.
STINSON BEACH A Panoramic Highway resident at 7:41 p.m. Oct. 11 reported there were campers in a cluster of red-tagged buildings where no one was supposed to be. He subsequently called back to say the campers "just took off running into the woods." A deputy could not find them. At 1:40 a.m. Oct. 12, the same resident reported finding womens clothing and an empty purse on the property, which made him suspicious. A deputy gave him advice.
BOLINAS A woman at 8:33 p.m. Oct. 11 complained about very loud music in the Crescent Drive neighborhood. The noise was abated before a deputy arrived on the scene.
WOODACRE A Redwood Drive resident at 2:15 p.m. Oct. 11 reported trees in her neighborhood were being cut down. She said she was curious whether the tree cutters had a permit or needed one. A deputy gave her advice.

BOLINAS A merchant at 8:03 p.m. Sunday complained about a woman in her 50s, who had been drinking, and was refusing to leave. A deputy couldnt find her.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 9:19 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that an elderly man "hasnt eaten in two days. She said he "fell twice today" and is "very weak." Medics responded.
NICASIO Deputies at 7:20 p.m. Saturday received a report that someone was not breathing and that CPR was in progress. Medics transported "the patient," who was "conscious," to Marin General Hospital.
WOODACRE A resident at 10:12 p.m. complained about a "very large crowd of people." She said they were "yelling and shouting." When a deputy arrived on the scene, he found adults picking up their kids at the end of a "party for sixth graders."
BOLINAS A merchant at 10:21 p.m. Saturday reported a woman had received a head injury in a fall outside. She was conscious, and when department medics arrived, she was "a little" uncooperative with them. Medics then reported she was "now cooperative."
POINT REYES STATION A Highway 1 resident at 10:26 p.m. Saturday said that a female neighbor might be drunk since he could "hear a lot of screaming outside." He said she "may be yelling at her boyfriend." The resident added that the disturbance had been "going on for a few hours but [is] getting worse." A deputy advised a couple in their 50s "to keep the noise down."
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident told deputies that although it was 12:19 a.m., there had been a man with no shirt outside "trying to break into a church." He said the man, using his backpack, had been "hitting a window hard." The resident said that the man, while "banging on the church," kept saying, "I need to see my pastor." After the resident confronted the shirtless man, he started walking toward Wharf Road but "left his backpack" at the church.
DILLON BEACH A Park Avenue resident at 9:15 a.m. Saturday complained that two vehicles were parked in the middle of the avenue, "completely blocking the road." When a deputy arrived on the scene, the vehicles were gone.
SAN GERONIMO A man called deputies from Lagunitas School Road at 11:13 a.m. Saturday to report he had found a three- or four-year-old boy crying at the intersection of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Meadow Way. A moment after the man told deputies, "The boy is now running around the school," he "lost contact due to a bad cell [phone] connection."
POINT REYES STATION Medics responded at 11:13 a.m. Saturday when an elderly woman tripped and fell in front of the Farmers Market. After the fall, the woman was able to sit up but not stand up.
OLEMA Deputies stopped traffic in the Olema Valley at 12:39 p.m. Saturday while medics attended to a rider who had fallen from a horse.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 2:54 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that two small children aged five or six were "fixing bicycles in the street with no parents around." A deputy found two nine year olds and reported their "mom is right inside."
WOODACRE Medics responded at 4:19 p.m. Saturday when an elderly woman experiences seizures. She was transported by ambulance to Marin General Hospital.
BOLINAS Deputies at 9:07 p.m. Friday talked with man on Wharf Road who was "evasive" but said "he was from Jenner awhile ago." He subsequently said he was there in August. Deputies then called Sonoma County deputies to see if the man is a suspect in the murders of a 22-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, whose bodies were found on Fishhead Beach in Jenner Aug. 18. He wasnt. STINSON BEACH A resident at 10:36 p.m. Friday told deputies that a deer had been struck in traffic at Highway 1 and Panoramic Highway. She said several "people are directing traffic from the middle of the road." The resident was "very concerned [that] someone is going to get hit, due to dark[ness] and fog." Deputies later reported the dead deer had been removed from the roadway.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 10:06 p.m. Friday asked for extra patrols around his house because "he is concerned about vandalism to his shed" by a woman, who drives a black VW, a deputy reported. The resident said the woman is not allowed on his property.
NICASIO A caller from a Nicasio Valley Road stable, told deputies at 2:49 p.m. Friday that a 34-year-old woman had possibly overdosed. The caller said the woman had been found with an empty bottle of steroid pills and an empty bottle of vodka. The caller said the womans breathing was "shallow" and her "pulse is barely readable." The caller said that when the woman arrived around 2:30 p.m. for a riding lesson, she "could barely walk" but managed to lock herself in a room.
STINSON BEACH A resident at 4:41 p.m. Friday reported that someone had used his bank account to pay a $250 phone bill last month. He said he has his own phone bill, and a deputy began looking into possible fraud.
TOMALES A caller at 7:58 p.m. last Thursday reported his wallet had been stolen out of his vehicle while he was at a high school football game.
BOLINAS Deputies at 10:04 a.m. last Thursday received a report that a large Ford camper was parked behind the postoffice. The caller said the owner of the camper may work in Bolinas and sleep in the camper. A deputy determined the owner is a resident of Rohnert Park.
NICASIO An employee around noon last Thursday reported that an insane man had shown up at his business the previous day and kept hanging around. When the man was asked to leave, he left behind "all his papers and meds."
WOODACRE Two vehicles collided on Park Street, and "two patients" needed medical attention, medics were told at 1:18 p.m. last Thursday. The collision partially blocked the roadway, and the Highway Patrol responded.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD Firefighters at 2:57 p.m. last Thursday responded when two vehicles collided near Union School. However, both vehicles left the scene. The Highway Patrol was notified about the crash.
SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK A woman, who refused to give her name because "she was afraid for her safety," complained at 4:51am last Thursday about a van with Georgia license plates and a "very loud stereo." She said there were men and women with the van and that there was "a strong, strange smell." A deputy determined that some "sage thing [was] being burned." He gave the people a "noise warning."
BOLINAS One vehicle rear-ended another vehicle on Olema-Bolinas Road, deputies were told at 5:43 p.m. last Thursday, and a passenger in the front car had been airlifted by helicopter to the John Muir Medical Center. Deputies, at the request of the Highway Patrol, helped investigate the collision. Officers determined that the victim, who had been in the backseat, had not been wearing a seatbelt.
MUIR BEACH An 84-year-old woman with Alzheimers disease called 911 at 8:34 a.m. last Wednesday but then was "unsure why." Deputies determined she was "trying to get in touch with her daughter upstairs."
NICASIO The Highway Patrol responded at 12:34 a.m. last Wednesday when a silver-colored sedan slammed into a tree along Nicasio Valley Road. Officers were told the motorist was "out of the car and breathing."
FOREST KNOLLS A woman in the Guadalupe Place-Resaca Avenue neighborhood at 12:34 p.m. last Wednesday said an Open Space District ranger had suggested she call deputies for help. She said she had gone looking for her missing dog when she "found him stuck in a 10-foot-deep pit four-feet wide." A deputy determined the pit was on private property.
BOLINAS A woman at 3:13 p.m. last Wednesday reported a 32-year-old mans arm was bleeding. She said the bleeding was under control, but she didnt know how the injury occurred. Medics said it was accidental.
NICASIO A woman on Nicasio Valley Road at 4:14 p.m. last Wednesday reported a 14-year-old girl had fallen from a horse. Medics transported her to a hospital by ambulance.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 5 reported that a black Ford Thunderbird had been parked in front of her house last night, and now there is damage to her hub cap. She said she believed she knew the woman responsible for the damage and was going over to the womans residence. A deputy gave her advice.
BOLINAS A man at 11:59 a.m. Oct. 5 reported that a 65-year-old woman had been drinking heavily for three days and had just "collapsed from a standing position." A deputy determined the woman was taking post-surgical medication.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD Firefighters at 5:50 p.m. Oct. 5 responded to a vehicle accident in which the motorist had been drinking.
BOLINAS A woman on Wharf Road at 10:09 p.m. Oct. 4 reported that two people were sleeping under a blanket near a gate. She said they also had slept there the night before. A deputy moved them along.
POINT REYES STATION A main street merchant at 10:36 a.m. Oct. 4 reported that someone had taken money from his business bank account.
POINT REYES STATION A downtown resident at 10:47 a.m. Oct. 4 reported a burglar had ransacked his car during the night, taking papers out of the glovebox and $2 in coins from the ashtray.
POINT REYES STATION A man at 11:18 a.m. Oct. 4 reported he had lost his wallet containing $240 while shopping on the main street.
CHILENO VALLEY A woman on Wilson Hill Road at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, reported finding a deceased man, 52. Deputies were told he had last been seen in Petaluma on Friday and had not shown up for a job interview.

POINT REYES STATION A Highway 1 resident at 7:17 a.m. Sunday reported a burglar had broken her front window and left the front door open. All that was taken, she said, was an alarm clock.
FOREST KNOLLS A Castro Street resident at 11:18 a.m. Sunday complained that at least 25 motorcyclists had been "speeding up and down Sir Francis Drake Boulevard" and were now stopped near the bar. A deputy determined the group was taking part in a Highway Patrol-organized ride.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies in the sheriffs substation at 11:20 a.m. Sunday took a report that a vandal in Bolinas had "keyed" the paint of a motorists car.
POINT REYES STATION A Highway 1 resident at 11:57 a.m. Sunday notified deputies a motorcycle had crashed 2.5 miles north of town. The Highway Patrol reported the motorcyclist was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda.
NICASIO A Nicasio Valley Road resident at 12:19 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that a burglar had broken into her vehicle the previous day by smashing a rear side window. Taken were title to the vehicle and $4.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies at 12:34 p.m. Sunday received an anonymous report that 300 motorcyclists were in town and that "a woman in the middle of the street [was] cracking a whip." A deputy "contacted" the biker who had the whip "and advised her to put it away."
FALLON A deputy at 4:07 p.m. herded sheep off Middle Road and into a corral. The officer reported a "fence hook fell off" and that the "fence is in poor condition."
POINT REYES STATION A Knob Hill Road resident at 8:52 p.m. Saturday complained about a party with "incredibly loud" music. She said she lives half a mile away, "and it sounds like its in her yard," a deputy reported.
POINT REYES STATION A "well-dressed" man Saturday evening went to the firehouse to report that a fight at the Red Barn "may occur." He noted there had been a fight at the Red Barn the previous weekend and said there "may be gang activity." At 10:11 p.m. a Mesa Road resident complained there was "a very loud party going on" at the Red Barn and that "its too much." He said several cars were parked carelessly nearby, and some were parked across his driveway. A deputy determined the party was breaking up, and the host turned down the music."
LAGUNITAS A man at 3:45 a.m. Sunday notified deputies he had heard two gunshots 20 minutes ago and had just now heard two more. When a deputy arrived on the scene, all was quiet.
DILLON BEACH A man on Cypress Avenue at 4:18 a.m. Sunday told deputies that a second man had been hit in the face with a beer bottle while trying to break up an argument. He said the other man had a cut over his left eye. A deputy gave him advice but noted that both men were "uncooperative."
MARSHALL A Highway 1 resident at 9:27 a.m. Saturday reported a vandal had slashed a tire on her car the previous afternoon.
LAGUNITAS A Woodacre equestrian at 10:17 a.m. Saturday told deputies that at 1 p.m. the previous Sunday she was part of a group riding on Mountain King Road when a man in his 70s, who was driving a large, blue Cadillac, "sped down the road" and "intentionally did not slow down" for the riders, "almost hitting a horse and child rider." She said she did not wish to file a formal complaint but merely wanted the incident documented.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 10:48 a.m. Saturday notified deputies that her vehicles alarm had gone off, but by the time she got there, the vehicles hood was up, "and now it doesnt start." A deputy later reported it all turned out to be "a misunderstanding between neighbors."
HICKS VALLEY Firefighters at 11:17 a.m. Saturday said a motorist had come to the firehouse to complain that a black Camaro convertible was "driving recklessly" and that someone in it was "throwing beer cans at passing cars."
BOLINAS A man on Wharf Road at 2:49 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that he and a woman had been hit by a man neither of them knew. Deputies added that both of them were "very uncooperative and had to get back to work."
WOODACRE Deputies at 3:22 p.m. Saturday received a report that a stove had fallen on a 36-year-old mans lower leg and may have broken it. Medics responded.
STINSON BEACH A resident at 5:09 p.m. Saturday told deputies there had been an unattended bonfire on the beach for 30 to 40 minutes. There was "no fire" when a deputy arrived.
NICASIO A man at 5:53 p.m. Saturday called deputies to report that a teenager was "going crazy with a baseball bat." When deputies called back, a boy, who wouldnt give his name, said nothing was going on. "We dont own a baseball bat," he said.
OLEMA A man at 8:20 p.m. Friday reported a woman was having a dispute with a neighboring camper, who had asked her to turn down her music. The woman then backed into a tree.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD A woman at 10:09 p.m. Friday reported there were black-and-white cows loose on the road.
MARSHALL A man at 4:24 p.m. said there is a derelict, 25-foot-long sailboat on the shoreline. He asked how to get it removed. A deputy gave him advice.
FOREST KNOLLS A Resaca Avenue resident at 7:37 p.m. last Thursday complained about a construction crew working overtime. She said they were "pouring and breaking up cement." All was quiet when a deputy arrived on the scene.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 2:09 a.m. Friday reported a brown-and-white cow was loose on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. Deputies advised the Highway Patrol and reported the "cow ran down [a] hill, into a creek, and into the woods across the creek."
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 9:59 a.m. last Thursday called deputies with "numerous questions regarding firearms and county ordinances." A deputy gave him advice.
BOLINAS A man on Wharf Road at 10:42 a.m. last Thursday told deputies a gun and two knives had been taken from him "for safe keeping" more than a year ago. He asked how he could get them back.
FOREST KNOLLS A Candelero Avenue resident at 12:32 p.m. last Thursday told deputies Bank of America had informed her that someone is fraudulently using her checks.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 5:02 p.m. last Thursday said a man carrying a backpack and appearing to be homeless had asked for money for food. She added that he was "very nice and not hostile." A deputy could not find him.
SAN GERONIMO A Creamery Road resident at 10:33 p.m. last Wednesday complained about noisy construction work. She said hammering had started about 10 p.m.
POINT REYES STATION A deputy found a Marshall resident camping at Third and C streets. He moved the man along.
BOLINAS A man at 9:09 p.m. Sept. 28 called deputies on behalf of a woman who had been burglarized by her son "this past week." Just now, he said, there had been a van parked in front of her house, and when she went outside, it sped off.
INVERNESS PARK Medics were summoned at 3:01 a.m. last Wednesday when a man, whod just had heart surgery, experienced severe chest pains.
STINSON BEACH A Francisco Patio resident at 9:50 p.m. Sept. 27 notified deputies that someone was setting off fireworks on the beach. A deputy could not find anyone doing so.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sanchez Road resident at 8:28 a.m. Sept. 27 complained that his neighbor "keeps coming out and complaining" about workers cutting down trees. He said the mans interference has become an ongoing problem. A deputy gave him advice.
POINT REYES STATION A Mesa Road resident at 2:52 p.m. Sept. 27 complained that a homeless man was "hanging around the area of [her] back porch." She said the man may be on valium. The resident told deputies she had "asked him to leave, but he wont until he finds the rest of his meds, which he said he dropped on the porch."
POINT REYES STATION The new commander of the sheriffs West Marin substation, Lt. Scott Anderson, has asked The Light to let readers know a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. The Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substations phone number is now 446-4418.
