DILLON BEACH A man at 5 p.m. Monday reported losing a cell phone along Marine View Drive.
BOLINAS A deputy at 3 p.m. Friday arrested a man on two warrants.
BOLINAS After a man took a bag containing beer and donuts from a second man, a deputy at 2 p.m. Saturday cited the first man on charges of petty theft.
SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK A caller at 4 p.m. Sunday reported a roommate missing since Oct. 13. A deputy determined the roommate had been staying in the park; he remained there until Friday.
POINT REYES STATION A man at 8:35 p.m. Sunday reported a man, a woman, and two children were camping in a recreational vehicle downtown and said it was an ongoing problem. No one was in the RV when a deputy checked.
BOLINAS A man at 11 p.m. Sunday reported a van was parked on the Wharf Road end of Bolinas Beach, and it appeared that the owner intended to spend the night there. The tide was coming in, the man said, and the van might float away. A deputy determined the van was stuck because of a mechanical problem and would be removed in the morning. The officer added that the van did not appear to be in any danger of washing away.
SAN GERONIMO A deputy at 11:20 a.m. Sunday backed up Fairfax Police in helping to take a juvenile on Meadow Way into custody.
FOREST KNOLLS A landlord at 1:15 a.m. Monday complained that his female tenant was throwing something against their common wall. He said it was an ongoing problem. A deputy gave the landlord civil-law advice.
HICKS VALLEY A man at 10 p.m. Saturday reported a Holstein was outside its pasture along a roadway. The cow was gone when a deputy arrived.
STINSON BEACH A deputy at 11:48 p.m. Saturday broke up a beach party with a bonfire at the end of Calle del Sierra and ordered that the fire be put out. The officer added that everyone then left.
TOMALES A Valley Avenue man at 12:53 a.m. Sunday complained about a loud party with juveniles racing cars in the street. A woman on Valley Avenue independently complained that 15 to 20 juveniles were yelling, speeding, and breaking bottles.
WOODACRE A Redwood Drive resident at 1:08 a.m. Sunday reported that during a quarrel, her husband pushed her outside. However, she went back inside and locked herself in a bathroom. She told deputies she was now downstairs, and he was upstairs.
WOODACRE Deputies at 1:19 a.m. Sunday received a complaint about a loud party in the area of Carson and Rock Ridge roads.
BOLINAS At 7:32 p.m. last Thursday, a surfer with a minor head injury was picked up by an ambulance and transported to Marin General Hospital for evaluation.
MARSHALL A Highway 1 woman at 10:52 a.m. Friday reported there were two Jet Skiers in the area. A deputy said the Jet Skiers trailer belongs to a federal agency, and the skiers were probably on a training exercise.
LAGUNITAS A man on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 11 a.m. Friday reported his wallet was stolen a year ago in the East Bay and that someone is now using his identity.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman on Resaca Avenue last Friday reported an approximately 20-year-old man was soliciting door to door in her neighborhood. She said she let him into her residence but later decided he was casing the home for a burglary.
BOLINAS A deputy at 4:26 p.m. Friday checked on a homeless encampment just off Wharf Road.
BOLINAS A deputy on Brighton Avenue at 3 p.m. Friday arrested a man on warrants for failing to appear in court to face charges of driving with a suspended license and drunk driving.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at the school reported four juveniles skateboarding behind the library. They were told they could not skateboard at the school but were still there, the woman said.
OLEMA A woman at 11 p.m. last Thursday reported a father and daughter were arguing over some bounced checks.
FOREST KNOLLS A caller on Montezuma Avenue at 11:10 p.m. last Thursday complained about a loud woman who was possibly very drunk. All was quiet when a deputy arrived. However, at 1:22 a.m. Friday, a man called deputies to report the woman had opened her window and screamed at him, "You think you couldnt sleep before " Then she shut her window and disappeared inside, he added. Again, all was quiet when a deputy arrived.
PLATFORM BRIDGE A man at 7:30 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies that two men dressed in black had just tried to force their way into his vehicle while it was stopped, banging on a door. A deputy could not find the suspects.
WOODACRE A deer was struck in traffic on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near an entrance to Spirit Rock Meditation Center about 7:45 p.m. last Wednesday. The Humane Society asked a deputy to put the animal out of its misery. Once bystanders had left, the officer shot the deer.
FOREST KNOLLS Someone entered a Resaca Avenue residents storage shed at 4:45 a.m. last Wednesday, but the owners dogs chased the suspect away.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substations phone number is 663-1151.
October 18, 2001 Sheriff's Calls
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 12:45 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies that a classmate of her daughter has been leaving harassing messages on the familys answering machine.
INVERNESS A merchant at 10:41 a.m. Monday reported that a vandal had sprayed graffiti on the side of his building. The graffiti said, "We need two chains."
BOLINAS A deputy at 10 p.m. last Wednesday at the end of Maple Road found an obviously intoxicated man who could not take care of himself. The man was taken into custody for public drunkenness, but when he sobered up, he was released with no formal charge filed.
BOLINAS A woman at 5:30 p.m. Monday told deputies a burglar stole a camera, cash, and CDs from her car parked on Ocean Parkway while she was at a beach party. She estimated the loss at $900.
LAGUNITAS A Spring Road resident found a bicycle in bushes at Lagunitas Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near the Catholic Church and posted a note in the church about the find. When no one responded, he told deputies at 8:35 a.m. Monday he wanted to turn the bicycle over to them. An officer tried to haul the bicycle away, but it wouldnt fit in his patrolcar.
SAN GERONIMO A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 11:24 a.m. Monday complained about a loud generator in a construction area. He said he thought the generator might lack a muffler and be creating a fire hazard. County firefighters determined the small generator was not creating a fire hazard.
OLEMA A helicopter was summoned to a horseback riding accident on North Bear Valley Road at 3:55 p.m. Monday. However, the copter was subsequently called off, and two Park Service rangers handled the mishap.
LAGUNITAS A resident at 8 p.m. Monday received a call from a 40-year-old woman who was trying to commit suicide by overdosing on pills and had phoned him to say good-bye. He told officers she was camping alone in Samuel P. Taylor State Park.
FOREST KNOLLS A Tamal Road man at 10:45 p.m. Monday heard an explosion and noted a group of people were gathered in a parking lot. The people were gone when a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION A Highway 1 resident at 11 p.m. Monday reported her 17-year-old son had not come home yet.
SAN GERONIMO A San Geronimo Valley Drive woman at 11 p.m. Monday heard a gunshot, but deputies could not find anyone shooting.
FOREST KNOLLS A caller at 11:20 p.m. Monday complained about loud music in the Candelero Road area. The disturbance was abated before a deputy arrived.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 9 p.m. Sunday complained about an ongoing problem with a neighbor who keeps playing "low-voiced religious talking all night." She said he refuses to turn it down. A deputy advised her to turn on a fan to drown out the neighbors noise, but she said the fans noise keeps her awake. She asked to speak to a deputy in person.
NATIONAL SEASHORE A motorist got her small pickup truck stuck in a ditch along Limantour Road at 10:35 a.m. Sunday. A deputy noted it should be easy to get the truck out of the ditch.
INVERNESS A 12-year-old girl at 10:45 p.m. Sunday called deputies to say her mothers boyfriend was hurting her mother. Deputies noted they could hear the mother crying in the background and then yelling at her daughter to hang up the phone. The mother, whom deputies described as "uncooperative," later said her boyfriend hit her before leaving in a truck.
OLEMA A woman at 11 p.m. Sunday reported a vehicle had broken down in front of her house and that she could hear people talking about a carburetor. Deputies asked the Highway Patrol to handle the matter, but the CHP officers said they were busy and asked deputies to handle it. A deputy could not find the vehicle.
DILLON BEACH A woman on Marine View Drive reported four juveniles with bats had arrived at the campground at 12:20 a.m. Monday, saying they were looking for friends. The four were refused entrance to the campground and left in a blue car.
NICASIO A man at 4:15 a.m. Monday reported a very large oak tree had fallen across Lucas Valley Road, partly blocking the roadway.
WOODACRE A Carson Road resident at 7:14 a.m. Sunday complained about the crowing of a neighbors rooster and said he has paperwork from the county Planning Division relating to the rooster. A deputy reported the rooster was quiet when he arrived, but the officer left a note on door of its owner, asking the owner to call the Sheriffs Office.
BOLINAS A Terrace Avenue resident at 10:14 a.m. Sunday reported her house had been broken into during the weekend. She asked for extra patrols in the neighborhood.
BOLINAS A man at 2:40 p.m. Sunday reported roads near the beach were congested with parked cars that might block emergency vehicles. A deputy ticketed several vehicles.
MUIR BEACH A woman at 5 p.m. Sunday reported there were many cars parked in no-parking zones along Pacific Way. A deputy ticked several.
WOODACRE County firefighters at 6:35 p.m. Sunday reported a red Volvo parked at Central Avenue and Hill Road had not left room for emergency vehicles to pass. The owner subsequently moved the Volvo and was advised to renew his cars registration.
STINSON BEACH A motorist got a flat tire on Highway 1 at 7:20 p.m. Saturday. A deputy called a towing company for her.
NICASIO A woman at 7:45 p.m. Saturday reported a deer had been hit in traffic on Nicasio Valley Road. She said the animal was still alive, so a deputy shot the deer to put it out of its misery.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 11:59 p.m. Saturday received a complaint of loud music from a party at Calle del Arroyo at Calle del Resaca. The disturbance was abated.
NICASIO A business at 12:37 a.m. Saturday reported two vehicles were on a private fire road.
BOLINAS A woman at 10:50 a.m. Friday complained about a small party with drinking and loud music at Cherry and Maple roads. The disturbance was abated before a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION A resident at 11:20 a.m. Saturday showed up at the Sheriffs Substation with a letter from Florida in a plastic bag. The resident said the letter contained white powder and noted he was not familiar with the return address. Deputies forwarded the letter to their Investigations Division.
NICASIO A Nicasio Valley Road resident at 12:30 p.m. Saturday reported a check had been stolen from her, forged, and cashed for $220.
INVERNESS A Camino del Mar resident at 2:30 p.m. Friday notified deputies that two kayakers were on her private beach. She said the man and woman were refusing to leave; however, they were gone when a deputy arrived.
MARSHALL A deputy at 3:12 p.m. Saturday found a stolen car parked beside Highway 1.
MUIR BEACH US Park Police at 3:45 p.m. Saturday reported vehicles were parked on both sides of Pacific Way at Highway 1, reducing Pacific Way to one lane. The Highway Patrol handled the matter.
STINSON BEACH Deputies and Highway Patrol officers responded to a non-injury traffic accident on Highway 1 at 4:20 p.m. Saturday. The crash left one vehicle with both right tires missing. A tow truck was called.
INVERNESS PARK Deputies at 5 p.m. Saturday received word that a group of juveniles aged 15 to 18 were smoking marijuana in a blue Chevrolet parked on Balboa Avenue.
LAGUNITAS A deputy on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 8:20 a.m. Friday found three men in a car and arrested one on a warrant. The other two were not arrested, but the vehicle was towed away.
BOLINAS An Open Space District ranger at 12:18 p.m. Friday notified deputies that a white pontoon boat with a canopy was either stuck in the lagoon or was harassing seals. A deputy determined the boat had run aground on a sandbar and its occupants were not harassing seals.
LAGUNITAS A man at 2:37 p.m. Friday found his stepfather dead in a Barranca Road house. Deputies summoned county firefighters and the coroner.
WOODACRE A Central Avenue resident at 6:16 p.m. Friday reported receiving a white envelope with a Sacramento return address. She said she believed there appeared to be something like sand in the envelope, so she left it in her front yard, fearing that it might contain anthrax. A deputy determined the envelope contained an advertisement.
BOLINAS A woman at 10:18 p.m. Friday notified deputies a large group of juveniles were on Brighton Avenue headed toward the beach. She said they might "cause trouble." A deputy kept watch to make sure the group did not get noisy.
OLEMA Deputies assisted Park Service rangers at 12:01 a.m. Saturday in checking on a small group of people gathered along Highway 1.
STINSON BEACH A Belvedere Avenue resident at 12:18 a.m. Saturday reported someone "knocking" at the back of her house although no one was expected. She also said her daughter had seen fireworks. A deputy could not find anything amiss.
OLEMA Deputies on Highway 1 at 1:01 a.m. Saturday assisted Park Service rangers in arresting a man wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court when scheduled.
WOODACRE After a woman complained of a loud party at Buckeye Circle and Redwood Drive, deputies contacted the host, who agreed to keep the noise down.
POINT REYES STATION A Mesa Road resident at 9 a.m. last Thursday told deputies that several months earlier he had allowed an acquaintance to park a Datsun on his property, but the acquaintance never returned for it. He said he wanted deputies to remove the vehicle or give him advice. They gave him advice.
WOODACRE A Redwood Drive resident at 9:35 a.m. last Thursday complained to deputies that a 49-year-old woman was standing in his driveway, blocking it so he could not drive away.
POINT REYES STATION A motorhome was involved in a hit-run accident on Highway 1 at 9:47 a.m. last Thursday. It drove off, leaving medics to attend to the victims injuries. The motorhome was described as being a model from the 1980s with a ladder on its back, along with a white and yellow stripe.
OLEMA A man at 4:47 p.m. last Thursday reported that a Middle Eastern man had stopped a sports utility vehicle near a water tank two days earlier and then had walked toward it.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 5:18 p.m. last Thursday complained about construction on her neighbors property for the past five months.
LAGUNITAS A woman at 6:13 p.m. last Thursday reported a 35-year-old man was sleeping with a blanket on a trailer hitch at Corona and Mountain View avenues.
FOUR CORNERS Two vehicles collided at 9:15 p.m. last Thursday. A rancher told deputies both drivers were up and walking around. A deputy helped one driver change a flat tire.
BOLINAS A caller at 11:10 p.m. last Wednesday complained of campers along Olema-Bolinas Road and said they had been a problem for the past few nights. He noted deputies had gone to the scene the previous night because of a woman yelling. The caller said he could hear her yelling again at a man and his girlfriend. A deputy told the woman to go elsewhere.
MARSHALL Deputies at 8:48 a.m. last Wednesday received word of a Holstein on Highway 1. The owner could not be found, but an officer moved the cow off the highway.
LAGUNITAS Deputies received a complaint that school-age children walking beside Sir Francis Drake Boulevard from Samuel P. Taylor State Park were a traffic hazard and quoted several drivers as saying they had almost hit the children. A deputy determined the children were part of a group staying in the park and posed no hazard.
OLEMA A merchant on Oct. 5 claimed a former employee had embezzled money, stolen items, and not repaid a money she had been loaned to buy a car. A deputy spoke with the former employee, who said there was a misunderstanding. Because of the dispute, the matter is still under investigation, another deputy noted.

BOLINAS Deputies reported that at 3 p.m. last Thursday on Brighton Avenue, a man grabbed a womans foot when she tried to kick him, causing her to fall down and injure her shoulder and ribs.
STINSON BEACH A woman on Avenida Olema at 7:30 a.m. Friday reported someone had passed three forged checks.
STINSON BEACH A man at 12:30 a.m. Monday had alcohol-withdrawal hallucinations and was taken to the crisis unit of Marin General Hospital.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman driving a van on Tamal Road at 11:10 p.m. hit a tree, and it fell onto a mans property. He told deputies he wanted her to pay for removing it. County firefighters removed from the roadway another tree, which had also been hit.
TOMALES A woman on Whitaker Bluff Road reported that at 11 p.m. last Thursday, her drunken husband got mad at her son, yelled at her, and punched her in the face. She said he also pulled her hair and tried to choke her. She said she didnt think she needed medical attention but noted this sort of thing has happened before. A deputy arrested the man on charges of spousal abuse and of yanking a phone cord out of the wall.
SAN GERONIMO A Meadow Way resident at 2:45 a.m. Friday heard a crash in neighboring apartment and knocked on its screen door, which was locked. She told deputies an 85-year-old man lived in the apartment. Later she called deputies back to say she had finally contacted the man, and he was okay. Officers could not determine where the crash had occurred.
WOODACRE A Central Avenue resident at 8:22 p.m. last Wednesday reported the right rear window of his vehicle had been shot out and that there was a bullet inside the vehicle.
LAGUNITAS A resident at 9 p.m. last Wednesday reported her half brother, aged 50, was wandering around in her front yard although he has been told he is unwelcome at the residence. The man, who had shown up to visit his stepfather, left on foot.
FOREST KNOLLS A landlord on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard notified deputies at 10:40 p.m. Oct. 2 that a tenant was acting irrationally and had threatened him. He quoted her as saying, "If you call my future landlords, Ill kill you." A deputy gave him advice. At 10 p.m. the next day, he reported receiving two more threatening phone calls from her. He said the woman, who lives on the same property as he, smokes marijuana and sounded as if she were under its influence.
OLEMA A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 11:37 last Wednesday reported several people in front of the residence yelling and partying. The disturbance had been abated by the time an officer arrived, and the people had left the area.
OLEMA A woman notified a deputy at 2 a.m. last Thursday that there were juveniles along Highway 1 having a party and that it sounded as if they were hurting cows in a field. All was quiet when an officer arrived. No animals were being hurt. And the deputy advised the group to be quiet.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD County firefighters after dark received a report that there were a "bunch of cows" on the road; however, the firefighters could not find them.
BOLINAS A man on Wharf Road at 9:40 p.m. Oct. 2 notified deputies he could hear two males arguing with a female and that the quarrel sounded as if it were escalating. He said the female was yelling, "Stop." The men, he said, were yelling, "Shut up." A deputy could not find anyone creating a disturbance.
LAGUNITAS A man at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 2 reported there was a second man in his late 40s sitting on a bridge at Mountain View Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and that there was a line of bottles along the edge of the bridge. The first man said he didnt know how long the second man had been there. The second man was gone when a deputy arrived.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 11:15 p.m. Oct. 2 notified deputies he could hear a possibly drunk person inside a residence on Morelos Avenue. The man said the owners of the residence were out of town, and when that happens, there are problems with their sons going to the residence to drink and smoke marijuana. A deputy went to the house. A man, who had been sleeping on a couch, told the officer he lived there.
INVERNESS PARK A woman at 12:14 a.m. last Wednesday complained about a vehicle screeching back and forth on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard for the past 45 minutes. The vehicle was gone when a deputy arrived.
JEWELL Deputies about 4 p.m. Tuesday were notified that someone had broken into a home that the Park Service had bought and then abandoned. Officers encircled the property, found a woman, and took her into custody.

October 4, 2001 Sheriff's Calls
DILLON BEACH A teenager was rough-housing with another boy, 14, at 10 p.m. Saturday when he accidentally stabbed the second boy. Even though the victim agreed it was an accident, the first boy fled.
STINSON BEACH An 80-year-old resident of Buena Vista Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Saturday died of natural causes with an emergency medical technician from the Stinson Beach Fire Department present. The body was turned over to the Neptune Society.
BOLINAS A Crescente Avenue resident at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 20 told deputies someone had tried to open credit card accounts using her name.
POINT REYES STATION Nighttime vandals splattered the Whale of a Deli with raw eggs, the owner reported at 8:50 a.m. Saturday.
NICASIO A resident at 9 a.m. last Wednesday complained that a motorist had parked on her property despite having no apparent business at her residence.

BOLINAS A woman at 6:55 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies that a drunk man, against whom she has a court-issued restraining order, kicked in her door while arguing. He was arrested.
INVERNESS PARK A park ranger at 11:42 a.m. Sunday told deputies she saw three vehicles parked along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard with the occupants appearing to be dealing marijuana. The ranger thought it was a dope deal, she said, "as there was another guy coughing." The vehicles were gone when a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION A deputy at 1 p.m. Sunday spotted a vehicle on Mesa Road with a license plate not registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles. The officer noted there was blood on the front of the car and contacted the owner, who said someone got cut the previous night and bled on the hood.
POINT REYES STATION A man at 1:42 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that two soccer teams from Santa Rosa had showed up at West Marin School for matches, and one team was trying to kick the other off the field. The caller said there was potential for trouble, but one team left, acknowledging there had been a scheduling conflict.
STINSON BEACH A woman at 2:18 p.m. Sunday saw another woman stagger on the beach and then collapse. County firefighters responded.
POINT REYES STATION The commander of the West Marin Sheriffs Substation at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, when the temperature in the shade was close to 100 degrees, reported a dog was locked in a car with its window halfway down. The car was outside a restaurant.
BOLINAS A woman at 7 p.m. Sunday complained about groups of juveniles gathering and drinking at Yucca Road and Ocean Parkway. She said four juveniles were present at the time. They were gone when a deputy arrived.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 7:45 p.m. Sunday said several people at the end of Resaca Avenue were "making too much noise." She said deputies should go there because they would find many people wanted on warrants. A deputy checked and found a small "cooperative group," who agreed to "keep it down."
MUIR BEACH A townswoman at 8:30 p.m. Sunday called deputies from Pacific Way to report a second woman, who was drunk, was trying to drive away. The townswoman said she intended to take the other womans car keys away from her.
DILLON BEACH A Dillon Beach Road resident at 11:26 a.m. Saturday reported a green minivan had been left on her property during the night and that she wanted it removed. A deputy at 1 p.m. tagged the vehicle for removal.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies at 12:40 p.m. Saturday were notified that a wallet had been stolen from a car parked at Guadalupe Place and Resaca Avenue.
BOLINAS A woman at 5:17 p.m. Saturday called deputies from Wharf Road to say there were numerous vehicles illegally parked all over downtown, making it difficult for other vehicles to get past them. Fire engines would not be able to get by at all, she added.
WOODACRE A woman at 5:30 a.m. Sunday called 911 and then hung up. When a deputy called back, the line was busy. An officer, who finally reached the woman, said he could hear a man in the background. The woman, however, said nothing was wrong and that she had been "mad at people [but] everything was all right now." She added that she had to hang up and phone her boss to let him know she was going to be late to work.
LAGUNITAS A woman at 6:30 a.m. Sunday told deputies her ex-boyfriend was drunk and had knocked on her door. When he drove off, another woman reported he was speeding on Chaparro Avenue.
BOLINAS A motorist at 7:15 p.m. Friday complained to deputies he had been hit on the left arm and shoulder by a 28-year-old motorist driving a hot rod. The motorist said he had pulled over on Zebra Road to let the 28 year old pass, but the faster motorist instead stopped and slugged him, the slower motorist said.
MARSHALL A man and woman came out of a restaurant at 8:15 p.m. Friday screaming at each other. A witness told deputies the man was yelling that the woman was "a bitch" and that he was going to "kick her ass," the witness said. The woman was also screaming but trying to stay away from the man, the witness added, noting it was too dark to see much except that the man was wearing blue jeans and cowboy boots.
NICASIO SQUARE Firefighters at 9:12 p.m. Friday reported a deer had been hit in traffic but was still alive. Deputies assisted the Humane Society.
FOREST KNOLLS A landlord on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:25 p.m. Friday reported receiving obscene and threatening messages on his phone from a female tenant. He said the woman warned him, "If you make me move, Im going to come back and get you." Three days earlier, deputies had warned the tenant not to call her landlord except in an emergency.
BOLINAS A Grove Road resident at 10:15 p.m. Friday reported a man was lying in her yard. When she turned on her outside lights, she told deputies, the man got up and left.
WOODACRE A woman at 3 a.m. Saturday reported a depressed friend had taken approximately 50 pills, possibly with alcohol. The friend was not combative, she said.
POINT REYES STATION A landowner on Tomasini Canyon Road at 10:50 a.m. Friday told deputies he was certain people are growing marijuana in the area. Deputies said they would make extra patrols around the mans property, looking for trespassers.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at noon Friday reported a vandal had thrown a full can of soda through the residents front window.
LAGUNITAS Firefighters at 2 p.m. Friday were summoned to a mans house on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and found it full of debris and smelling of cat urine. However, the man was not so gravely disabled he needed someone to take care of him, firefighters said.
OLEMA VALLEY A horseback rider was injured at 6:45 p.m. Friday. Deputies, who noted she complained of rib pain, assisted paramedics.
BOLINAS While on the scene for another call, deputies saw a prowler run through neighbors yards at 7:48 p.m. last Thursday.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 1:15 a.m. Saturday reported his foster daughter had run away following a dispute with her foster mother.
STINSON BEACH A merchant at 9:30 p.m. last Thursday reported her cell phone had been stolen in June. She said she had just learned she needed to file a report about the theft.
MUIR BEACH A woman at 11 a.m. last Thursday reported receiving a call on Sept. 11, the day of the terrorist bombings on the East Coast, from someone speaking a foreign language. She said she did not know who the person was and asked if she should file a report.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies at 11:40 a.m. last Thursday received a report of one Holstein and two Hereford cows on B Street. A rancher showed up to reclaim them.
INVERNESS A helicopter was dispatched at noon last Thursday after a man fell 40 feet out of a tree along Camino del Mar.
TOMALES High school staff at 12:25 p.m. last Thursday reported $1,000 to $1,200 worth of CDs had been stolen from a classroom.
INVERNESS PARK A resident at 1:40 p.m. last Thursday reported receiving possible threats. A deputy gave the resident advice.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies received a complaint at 11:40 a.m. Sept. 25 that a vandal had damaged the sideview mirror of a car parked on A Street.
NICASIO A caller notified deputies at 7:40 a.m. last Wednesday that a man had come onto the callers property in his vehicle. When the man was asked what he was doing there, he said he was just looking at horses and said he works for a paint company which, the caller said, doesnt exist.
INVERNESS PARK A deer was struck in traffic on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 7:40 a.m. last Wednesday. Deputies could not find the animal.
BOLINAS A vandal on Wharf Road spray painted numerous stop signs during the night. Deputies at 4:25 p.m. last Wednesday notified the county Department of Public Works.
MUIR BEACH A woman at 1:20 p.m. Sept. 25 reported losing her cell phone along Highway 1.
STINSON BEACH A man at 5 p.m. Sept. 25 reported finding a womans necklace at Highway 1 and Panoramic Highway.
BOLINAS A Highway 1 landlord notified deputies that a tenant thinks she is a "white witch" who is "scaring" the tenant. The landlord asked for advice.
POINT REYES STATION A caller on Monday asked deputies to look for evidence of child abuse after two children in one family were injured a week apart.
BOLINAS A deputy on Wharf Road at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22 arrested a suspect on two out-of-county warrants.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release.
