POINT REYES STATION - One or more burglars broke into a lodging-referral service and stole keys to rental homes. Deputies interviewed an 18-year-old Petaluma girl, who confessed to the crime and returned the keys. The girl said she had taken the keys because the referral service owed her money. One of the keys was for a rental in Marshall, and officers subsequently learned the home had been burglarized although there was no sign of forced entry. Taken were beer, a CD player, and a clock.
POINT REYES STATION - A bartender complained about a customer with a white cup sitting around and laughing to himself. Deputies arrested him on a warrant.
LAGUNITAS - A fire in a compost pile along Arroyo Road spread into a woodpile. County firefighters extinguished the blaze before it burned any structures.
TOMALES - A resident complained his ex-girlfriend was drunk and refusing to leave his property. When a deputy arrived, the resident made a citizen's arrest on the Santa Rosa woman.
MARSHALL - Deputies received complaints about a man screaming and breaking glass on Highway 1. Officers found him at St. Helen's Church and took him into custody for psychiatric evaluation. They also took his bicycle for safekeeping.
BOLINAS - A bicycle was reported stolen from the school. It was later returned to the owner.
BOLINAS - A woman told deputies that a female friend staying with her is a victim of domestic violence from a 36-year-old man who, she said, had threatened their lives.
TOMALES - A man complained that hunters had shot six to eight ducks on his property, were refusing to leave, and had made threats. The hunters were gone when a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION - A deputy found a homeless man sleeping on Coast Guard property with a knife and loaded pellet gun nearby. The officer confiscated the weapons.
DILLON BEACH - A Cypress Avenue man complained of receiving 20 to 30 hangup calls in the last two weeks.
BOLINAS - Deputies took a man to the county crisis unit after he threatened to kill himself because, he said, his mother was "bothering" him.
POINT REYES STATION - A deputy stopped a 44-year-old motorist near the Green Bridge for a traffic violation and then arrested her for driving with a suspended license.
BOLINAS - A boy reported his bicycle had been stolen at the school. Deputies later learned a custodian had merely moved the bicycle.
INVERNESS - A woman turned over to deputies a purse found along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The purse contained cash and credit cards.
STINSON BEACH - A thief stole a $50 old Spanish tile off the wall of a Seadrift Road home.
OLEMA - A man reported his $432 camera had been stolen while he was in a photo store. A deputy advised him to look further for the camera before filing a theft report.
NATIONAL SEASHORE - The Park Service reported vehicles parked on Pierce Point Road had been burglarized. The burglar's vehicle may be a black pickup truck, rangers said.
POINT REYES STATION - A Tomasini Canyon Road woman at 2:30 a.m. reported she could hear a man walking around and whistling in the dark.
BOLINAS - A woman complained that her ex-landlord had taken her ladder, which she had loaned to someone else. The landlord said he had taken the ladder because she owed him rent and that she and her boyfriend had taken the ladder back.
LAGUNITAS - A man complained about loud music from a cafe. The cafe agreed to turn the music down.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman complained that four people were drinking in the town park. They were gone when a deputy arrived.
NICASIO - A sheriff's patrolcar hit a deer on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road at 9 p.m., damaging the car's grill.
BOLINAS - A man complained that a second man was drinking in front of a bar and refusing to leave.
BOLINAS - A man at 1 a.m. reported six to eight people were partying on Brighton Avenue. He said it sounded like they were drunk and possibly fighting. The group was gone when a deputy arrived.
STINSON BEACH - A man at 2 a.m. complained that someone in a restaurant had stolen his sunglasses.
NICASIO - A merchant reported at 8:30 p.m. that a group of teenagers were harassing customers at the town square and refusing to leave. The problem was abated before a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION - A man reported a cow loose near the Green Bridge. A deputy herded the cow back into its pasture.
FOREST KNOLLS - A man at 11:45 p.m. complained about partygoers spilling out of a house and onto Juarez Avenue. A deputy checked and found several people leaving several parties. The last party was breaking up, he reported.
FOREST KNOLLS - A resident complained of loud motorcycles and a dozen people on Spring Road at 1:45 a.m.
TOMALES - A woman asked deputies to stand by while she retrieved property from a house occupied by her relatives. She said there has been a history of violence with the relatives, one of whom had torn up the house and thrown dishes around.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman reported a man has been sleeping in a van parked on Resaca Avenue. A deputy determined the van had been stolen in Alameda and turned the case over to the Highway Patrol.
FOREST KNOLLS - A citizen complained of light fixtures being stolen on Resaca Avenue.
POINT REYES STATION - A businessman reported receiving threats from a neighbor and noted there had been thefts at the dump.
INVERNESS - A man suffered multiple cuts from broken glass in a one-vehicle accident.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman reported a man had tried to get her 12-year-old daughter to get inside his pickup truck, but the daughter refused.
BOLINAS - A deputy on Wharf Road arrested a 23-year-old man on public drunkenness charges, but the man was later released without being formally charged.
TOCALOMA - A deputy stopped a motorist for a traffic violation and searched his vehicle, in which he allegedly found illegal drugs. The motorist was then arrested on charges of possessing methamphetamine, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possessing a small amount of marijuana.
INVERNESS PARK - A woman complained that her husband was refusing to let her visit her son.
BOLINAS - A Mesa Road woman found 15 bullets, all 9 mm, in her residence and turned them over to deputies.
OLEMA - A nonprofit reported receiving annoying phone calls.
BOLINAS LAGOON - A Stinson Beach man said he accidentally left his camera bag in the grass when he went kayaking. When he returned, the bag and $2,000 worth of camera gear were gone.
OLEMA - After a deputy found a car in a ditch, he arrested the driver on charges of possessing a large firecracker and a small amount of marijuana.
BOLINAS - A woman reported her son had assaulted her. Deputies reported an investigation is pending.
STINSON BEACH - A cable television company reported three homes had tapped into its lines to steal service. Deputies forwarded a report to the district attorney.
POINT REYES STATION - A woman in a restaurant reported a man had become "enraged" when she changed her seat to move away from him.
BOLINAS - A tenant returned a $6,000 pearl necklace to her landlord after he complained to deputies she kept postponing its return. However, the two are now involved in a landlord-tenant dispute, and a deputy gave both of them advice.
BOLINAS - A man on Wharf Road complained of juveniles vandalizing his vehicle parked on Wharf Road. However, witnesses told a deputy that no disturbance had occurred, and the officer noted the man had previously been known to damage his own property.
LAGUNITAS - A woman reported that a man had threatened her several times. Deputies assigned extra patrols around her house.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman told deputies a court has issued a restraining order to keep a man away from her. However, he may have entered her house, she said, noting that she returned home to find her heating pad unplugged.
OLEMA - Deputies received a report of a cow loose on Highway 1 but could not find it.
NICASIO - A Nicasio Valley Road woman lost her purse.
OLEMA - A merchant reported a man in a wheelchair in front of her store was smoking marijuana. He later left in a vehicle.
BOLINAS - A woman at 9:45 p.m. complained of loud music on Dogwood Road. A deputy contacted a man who agreed to turn the music down.
BOLINAS - A man complained that numerous participants in the Renaissance Pleasure Faire were camping at night on the beach. He asked for extra patrols.
DILLON BEACH - A deputy and a rancher at Lelani Lane and Oceana Drive returned a loose steer to its pasture.
LAGUNITAS - A man at 12:30 p.m. complained of loud music for 2.5 hours on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. A deputy contacted a cafe, which stopped the music.
TOMALES - A man told deputies that two people had parked a car at Marsh and Middle Roads and then left with the car's motor still running. Deputies referred the matter to the Highway Patrol.
WOODACRE - A woman on Carson Road asked for advice in a landlord-tenant dispute.
INVERNESS - A man at 10:35 p.m. reported four people camping on Shell Beach. Deputies referred the matter to state park rangers.
POINT REYES STATION - Deputies put a cow back in its pasture after it got loose on Highway 1 near the Caltrans corporation yard.
WOODACRE - A woman, who is the executor of an estate on Buckeye Circle, told deputies she had found tear gas in the residence. Deputies gave her advice about disposing of the tear gas.
POINT REYES STATION - County staff reported a case of elder abuse.
FOREST KNOLLS - An anonymous caller reported 15 juveniles drinking and possibly lighting a fire in a tree. A deputy moved the youths along and determined there were "no trees on fire."
OLEMA - Deputies checked when a resident dialed 911 and hung up. Officers were told the resident had intended to dial 411.
INVERNESS - A resident complained of loud music downtown at 3:15 a.m. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
OLEMA - A man reported a hitchhiker in his 20s was pounding on signs and screaming. The man said he believed the hitchhiker was insane. A deputy found the hitchhiker in Point Reyes Station and determined he was not insane.
TOMALES - A woman reported a man sleeping for hours in a pickup truck parked in front of her house. She said juveniles come up to his vehicle and that he wears a bandanna like a hit man for a gang.
POINT REYES STATION - A Cypress Road resident complained that a local businessman makes rude gestures to her husband and her as he drives by. She asked for advice.
BOLINAS - A man, who last month returned from vacation to find someone living in his house, reported he has now received his phone bill and that the man made numerous calls.
BOLINAS - A woman in Thermal, Riverside County, reported receiving $15,600 in fraudulent checks written on the account of a Bolinas farmer. Deputies noted the fraud occurred in a different jurisdiction and referred the woman to San Jose police.
STINSON BEACH - A woman at 9:20 p.m. complained of several people with a bonfire on the beach causing a disturbance. By the time a deputy arrived, the fire was out, and the people agreed to turn their music down.
NICASIO - A vehicle overturned and landed in a creek along Lucas Valley Road near Big Rock, county firefighters reported. There was no one inside the vehicle when it was found.
SAN GERONIMO - A woman reported hearing five gunshots at 9:30 p.m. A deputy could not find anyone shooting.
BOLINAS - Deputies received a report that a flare had been shot off Bolinas Ridge. Officers could not find anyone needing assistance.
NICASIO - A Camino Margarita woman reported hearing two gunshots. A deputy could not find the source.
TOMALES - A woman reported a rented bicycle had been stolen along Highway 1.
DILLON BEACH - A burglar tried unsuccessfully to break into an Oceana Drive home. Nothing was taken.
BOLINAS - A dog bit a man on Wharf Road.
TOMALES - A nighttime burglar stole four or five cases of beer from a business.
TOMALES - Thieves stole a painter's scaffolding and traffic cones from a job site.
BOLINAS - The library received "a peculiar piece of mail" regarding a rape suspect supposedly living in the area. Deputies took a report and forwarded it to investigators.
TOMALES - A burglar stole a man's cellular phone from his vehicle, which was parked outside his John Street house.
POINT REYES STATION - A merchant found two telephone answering machines in a bag next to his business.
INVERNESS - A woman gave deputies diving gear stolen from another woman's Perth Way house in July. The first woman said she had recovered the gear from some "anonymous kids."
BOLINAS - A man was arrested on Ocean Avenue and jailed on two warrants.
POINT REYES STATION - A thief stole a water pump from a man's produce garden by cutting a hose and padlock, as well as removing part of a fence.
SAN GERONIMO - A man complained about a 4-wheel-drive vehicle trespassing on private property via a fire road. A deputy could not find the vehicle.
TOMALES - A man at 10:30 p.m. complained about six juveniles rough-housing on the main street and said such disturbances have occurred almost nightly.
POINT REYES STATION - Deputies received a report of two cows loose on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road near Highway 1 at 11:30 p.m. A rancher returned the cows to their pasture.
LAGUNITAS - A Barranca Road resident at 1:30 a.m. reported a man had been yelling unintelligibly for 10 minutes and might be drunk. A deputy could not find him.
INVERNESS PARK - A woman reported that two light bulbs had been stolen from a garage-door fixture in the past two weeks.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman reported her live-in boyfriend had assaulted her two weeks ago. She did not want to press charges but merely to have the incident documented.
SAN GERONIMO - Twice in one day, a caller reported kids screaming at a Sir Francis Drake Boulevard home, adding that a parent might be beating them. A deputy determined there had been no abuse, just a four year old screaming about his toys.
INVERNESS - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident reported a confused and homeless man in his 20s had come to her house. He "thinks the world is coming to an end," she noted. "He says his parents kicked him out." The resident told deputies she didn't feel threatened by the man and would feed him dinner.
LAGUNITAS - A man told deputies that after he argued with his ex-wife and her mother, they ran off, taking his child. Deputies gave both sides advice.
BOLINAS - Deputies received complaint about noise coming from a home at Elm and Maple roads at 11 p.m. Officers contacted the residents, who agreed to keep the noise down for the night.
SAN GERONIMO - A Tamarack Drive man received a call from a bank, which said someone applying for a credit card was using his name. A deputy gave him advice.
POINT REYES STATION - A deputy found a bicycle beside a roadway.
OLEMA VALLEY - A stable notified deputies that a 50-year-old man had gone for a ride 8.5 hours ago and not returned. A woman at the stable said the man "is an experienced rider, but the horse is nuts."
BOLINAS - A vehicle ran off Highway 1.
BOLINAS - A Mesa Road woman reported that a man is using her husband's driver's license number to cash checks. She said her husband can no longer use his license for identification since "it shows up as bad checks." A deputy determined no fraud had occurred and gave the woman advice.
MARSHALL - A motorist reported that a rust-red Dodge Ram truck had tried to run her off the road for the second day in a row. She gave deputies the truck's license number.
OLEMA VALLEY - A deputy removed a tree limb that fell across one lane of Highway 1.
MUIR BEACH - A deputy removed fallen boulders from Highway 1.
NICASIO RESERVOIR - Falling boulders blocked a lane of the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road.
MUIR BEACH - A deputy accidentally fired his gun.
SAN GERONIMO - Deputies received a complaint that an old military rocket launcher and homemade slingshot had been left beside Lagunitas School Road.
WOODACRE - A man reported $1,000 in kitchen equipment was missing and said a caterer may have taken it by accident.
POINT REYES STATION - A vehicle overturned at Highway 1 and the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road.
MUIR BEACH - A woman reported her neighbors were yelling at her because her husband was playing the trumpet. This is an ongoing problem with the neighbors, she said.
INVERNESS PARK - Deputies received a report of a black cow on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard but could not find it.
FOREST KNOLLS - A man reported losing a $2,500 cashier's check.
LAGUNITAS - A motorist reported that the driver of a white Geo tailgates her daily - usually between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. - and tries to pass in "bad locations."
BOLINAS - Two 15-year-old boys ran away from foster homes.
BOLINAS - A deputy arrested a man on charges of driving with a suspended license. The officer noted the man had three prior convictions for the same offense.
STINSON BEACH - A Mill Valley woman reported losing a $20,000 wedding ring in the surf.
INVERNESS - A nighttime vandal fired a BB or small-caliber bullet through the window of a woman's residence along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Damage was estimated at $400.
STINSON BEACH - A burglar stole a cashbox containing $110 from the community center.
POINT REYES STATION - A vandal broke the glass covering of a barber's pole.
FOREST KNOLLS - A deputy at the town park arrested a 44-year-old man on charges of public drunkenness.

DEVIL'S GULCH - A deputy assisted Park Service rangers in finding and confiscating 14 marijuana plants.
BOLINAS - A man reported his daughter's estranged husband was outside and wouldn't leave. He said the husband had been drinking.
NICASIO - A man received several harassing phone calls.
STINSON BEACH - A woman at 8 p.m. complained about a large party with a fire on the beach. A deputy got partygoers to put out the fire and stop their music.
INVERNESS PARK - Deputies received a report of a dead deer on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard but could not find it.
CHILENO VALLEY - A young motorist hit a deer and asked a resident to call the boy's mother. The resident said he had slurred speech and appeared drunk.
NICASIO - A Lucas Valley Road woman found a man on her property. He told her he was lost and left eastbound. She told deputies he was wearing a Grateful Dead t-shirt.
SAN GERONIMO - A woman reported a man was cutting the head off a dead deer beside Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
SAN GERONIMO - Deputies tried to contact a mother in order to tell her to call Juvenile Hall about her son.
WOODACRE - A Redwood Drive woman complained that her neighbor had moved survey markers.
FOREST KNOLLS - A deputy found a man sleeping in a pickup truck with a camper shell at Guadalupe Place and Montezuma Road. The officer warned him that vehicular habitation is illegal in Marin County.
INVERNESS PARK - A woman at 4:30 a.m. reported that someone on a motorcycle was yelling "strangely" in the area of Blackberry Lane. A deputy could not find the biker.
WOODACRE - At 12:40 a.m., a deputy broke up a juvenile party on Elm Avenue and told the host to keep the noise down.
FOUR CORNERS - After receiving a report that two cows were out of their pasture and standing beside the roadway, deputies contacted a rancher, who returned the cows to their field.
LAGUNITAS - Deputies at 10 p.m. received a report that a woman and two or three men had been drinking all day and that the woman was now screaming for help. An officer determined the disturbance was only verbal.
SAN GERONIMO - A woman said a locksmith came to her door, but she said she hadn't requested his service. He then called his office and was reportedly told he was supposed to be in Mill Valley. She told deputies it was probably an innocent mistake but asked them to make sure he hadn't been casing her home for a burglary.
MARSHALL - A woman reported two canoes, each carrying an adult and child, had gotten into trouble because of rough weather while heading toward Hog Island. Deputies notified the Coast Guard.
TOMALES - A bird broke the front window of a house on Dillon Beach Road.
BOLINAS - A woman complained that her boyfriend wouldn't leave her house. Deputies noted there have been numerous prior disputes involving the boyfriend, the girlfriend, and his wife.
FOREST KNOLLS - A mother said a 28-year-old man had called her 12-year-old daughter three times. He told the mother he had accidentally called the number while trying to reach a radio station, but he would not give his name. A deputy gave her advice.
MARSHALL - A car driven by a woman with two children got stuck in a ditch. A deputy and a Highway Patrolman freed the car.
WOODACRE - Deputies on Buckeye Circle found a motorcycle that had been stolen in El Cerrito.
DILLON BEACH - A Sacramento woman told deputies that two youths from an adjacent campsite shot her trailer with a BB gun. An officer confiscated two guns from the campsite and said they would be destroyed. A man at the campsite denied anyone there had shot the trailer.
DILLON BEACH - A woman lost her cellular phone on Ocean Drive.
POINT REYES STATION - Deputies booked an Inverness youth into Juvenile Hall on charges of being drunk in public downtown and possessing a pipe for smoking marijuana.
BOLINAS - A man returned to his vacation home to find a second man sleeping in a bed. After the second man got up, dressed, and left, the first man discovered his .22 caliber rifle was missing and that food and alcohol had been consumed.
DOGTOWN - A woman said a second woman had made threats against her through a third party. A deputy questioned the second woman who said she was threatening litigation, not physical harm.
POINT REYES STATION - A Pennsylvania woman lost her purse after leaving a restaurant.
BOLINAS - A Mill Valley man assaulted a Garberville woman on Brighton Avenue. Deputies forwarded a complaint to the district attorney.
DILLON BEACH - A burglar kicked in the kitchen door of a Tahiti Way home, damaging the door frame, and stole a camera.
BOLINAS - Deputies at 12:40 a.m. arrested a man downtown on charges of public drunkenness. He was later released without being formally charged.
FOREST KNOLLS - A woman on Morelos Avenue at 9:30 p.m. reported hearing a girl screaming, "Get off me. Leave me alone, you pervert."
NICASIO - A man at 9:30 p.m. reported that for the second night in a row, a man with a white van was checking out the church with binoculars.
HICKS VALLEY - A woman reported a blue pickup truck was suspiciously driving around the school. A deputy determined the truck was being driven by a rancher working on his land.
MARSHALL - A woman reported ongoing trouble with a neighbor, who doesn't want her using an access easement. She said she has papers proving she is entitled to use the easement. A deputy gave her advice.
CHILENO VALLEY - A resident slipped and fell, suffering a head injury.
INVERNESS - Deputies received a report that a group of juveniles were screaming and possibly drinking in the middle of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 12:30 a.m. All was quiet when an officer arrived.
TOMALES - The owner of a Porsche reported that his sportscar parked along Highway 1 had been struck by a southbound Honda mini-van with Dublin, Alameda County, plates. The van did not stop.
DILLON BEACH - A man reported that someone appeared to be "stuck" in the surf. Deputies noted the man might merely be seeing a jet skier, but they notified the Coast Guard. In addition, county firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
NICASIO - A man said his landlord has said she wants him out of his rental unit by the next day. He wasn't sure he could find new lodgings by then. A deputy gave him advice.
FOREST KNOLLS - A resident at 8 p.m. told deputies that someone with a flashlight was looking into a shed on Upper Castro Street. A deputy determined that the owner of the shed had been checking on a vehicle stored inside.
TOMALES - A woman complained that 10 carloads of juveniles were drinking at Fallon-Two Rock and Martinoni roads. She said they had made a mess. An officer dispersed the group at 10 p.m.
BOLINAS - A man complained of numerous juveniles drinking on Wharf Road at 11 p.m. A deputy determined that while a band took a break, its audience had gone outside. There was no outdoor drinking, the officer noted.
STINSON BEACH - A man complained about 12 juveniles loitering at Highway 1 and Calle del Mar at 11:30 p.m. A deputy moved them along.
TOMALES - Deputies received a complaint of a loud wedding reception with a band at 12:20 a.m. An officer noted he had already driven by the reception, and it was a "small party."
OLEMA - A very large woman, who was crying, entered a restaurant and began knocking things off the counter.
DILLON BEACH - A deputy responded when a cow got loose at Dillon Beach and Franklin School roads. Unable to contain the cow because of a hole in a fence, the officer asked the Humane Society for assistance in getting it off the roadway. The cow's owner could not be reached.
BOLINAS - A resident said an employee had borrowed a $6,000 strand of pearls two months ago and keeps failing to return it. She claims the pearls are in her son's safety-deposit box, he said.
BOLINAS - A county zoning-enforcement officer asked a deputy to stand by while she inspected a home where there had been "problems in the past." However, the zoning officer got a flat tire en route to the home, and the rendezvous was somewhat delayed.
POINT REYES STATION - A Third Street resident reported his fence had been damaged.
WOODACRE - A man told deputies he gave a hitchhiker a ride to San Rafael. While en route, he said, the hitchhiker stole the man's wallet and $3.
BOLINAS - A merchant complained of a noisy gathering in front of his business. Although deputies noted the merchant was "uncooperative" with them, they moved the crowd along.
BOLINAS - A Brighton Avenue resident at 10:15 p.m. complained that a woman, who was downstairs alone, kept yelling at herself. The resident refused to give the name of the woman.
POINT REYES STATION - Deputies received a report that a gray pickup truck had sped past the school, passing over the double line. The report included the truck's license-plate number.
BOLINAS - A man complained that people were cutting down trees along Terrace Avenue without permission.
INVERNESS PARK - Deputies received a report that a cow was loose on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. An officer notified the closest rancher, but ranch hands could not find it.
OLEMA - A deputy cited a van after it passed three county trucks on the wrong side. There were signs saying not to pass, the officer noted.
BOLINAS - Deputies received a complaint of homeless people sleeping around stores and a church.
SAN GERONIMO - A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident reported a man and woman were having a fight, with him hitting her. A deputy determined the fight was merely verbal and abated it.
NICASIO - A Camino Marguerita resident reported mail had been stolen from the resident's mailbox, adding that it had happened before.
STINSON BEACH - A "minor fender-bender" on North Arena Avenue resulted in a verbal disturbance between two motorists, deputies reported.
