September 30, 2004 Sheriff's Calls

WOODACRE – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 7:06 p.m. Sunday told police a hunter was poaching deer on his neighbor’s property. A deputy was unable to find the hunter, let alone determine whether he had permission to be there.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Sanchez Road resident last Thursday complained about his neighbor’s cutting down trees on county property. He also said one of the tree workers had pushed him, but a deputy determined there had been no assault. At 8:14 a.m. Friday, the resident called deputies to say the tree workers were back and were cutting down a 200-year-old tree on county land. At 9:41 a.m. Sunday the resident called a third time, complaining that the neighbor had now cut down a leaning tree on the county right of way. He said that on Friday a deputy had worked out an agreement between them that the tree would not be cut below the height of a phone pole. Instead, the neighbor cut the whole tree down, the resident said.

SAN GERONIMO – A woman at 9:22 p.m. Sunday reported losing her purse, which contained an ATM card, a checkbook, her driver’s license, her library card, and $20. She later called back to say a friend had picked the purse up for her.

TOMALES – An Estero Road resident at 7:53 a.m. Sunday reported four male poachers were hunting deer on his property. A deputy could not find them.

POINT REYES STATION – Deputies at 9:56 a.m. Sunday were alerted to a brawl on Third Street involving 20 men. Deputies reported the brawl resulted from a fight the previous evening during a dance at the Red Barn. Following that fight, a man called his brother (who works with him on a Point Reyes Station ranch) and said he had been beaten by workers from a second Point Reyes Station ranch. The following morning the 32-year-old brother ("M") spotted workers from the second ranch on the main street and confronted them. A fight ensued on Third Street. Workers from the first ranch began beating a 29 year old ("J") from the second ranch with their fists. "J" grabbed a child’s baseball bat out of a yard to defend himself; however, "J" was hit on his head and shoulder with a board ripped off a nearby fence. The bat was taken away from him, and "M" allegedly used it to hit "J’s" 27-year-old cousin ("E"). Deputies arrested "M" on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. "J" refused medical treatment, but his cousin "E" was transported to Marin General Hospital. Deputies have not yet determined who hit "J" with the board.

FOUR CORNERS – County firefighters at 8:08 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that a dead deer at the intersection was creating a slight traffic hazard. The county Department of Public Works removed the carcass.

NICASIO – A Point Reyes Station motorist at 12:51 p.m. Sunday told deputies that girls with no adult supervision were unsafely leading horses from a stables on Nicasio Valley Road. She said she had narrowly avoided a collision with them. When a deputy arrived on the scene, all the horses had been returned to their pasture.

WOODACRE – Deputies and medics responded at 12:57 p.m. Sunday after receiving word that an 88-year-old woman was unconscious but breathing.

FOREST KNOLLS – Anonymous boys at 5:21 p.m. Sunday advised deputies that a 13-year-old girl was being hit by her father. They said they had called her house and heard the struggle.

BOLINAS – Medics responded at 6:30 p.m. Sunday when a four-year-old girl fell off a trampoline. Deputies had been told the girl may have suffered a seizure but was conscious now and not complaining of pain.

INVERNESS PARK – A resident at 7:02 p.m. Saturday complained that somebody was spending the night in a black Ford pickup truck with a camper shell, which was parked at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Balboa Avenue. A deputy advised the motorist that in Marin County, it is illegal for him to spend the night in his vehicle except in a campground.

STINSON BEACH – A Calle de la Resaca resident at 8:21 p.m. Saturday complained there was a bonfire on the beach. A deputy found there were actually three bonfires on the beach and told the people at each that their fires were against the law. The agreed to put them out.

BOLINAS – A resident at 7:06 p.m. Saturday told deputies he was sheltering a woman from her son. He said he was "prepared to use lethal force to protect [her] in the event that [the son] breaks into the house," a deputy reported.

DILLON BEACH – A woman from a campground at 10:25 p.m. Saturday complained of "loud" and "rude" people, who might be trying to start a quarrel with neighboring campers. She said they might be drunk. Campground staff had already warned the troublemakers, she said, and they would now be asked to leave.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 10:27 p.m. Saturday day complained about loud music and a "very loud" person talking in the neighborhood.

POINT REYES STATION – A downtown resident at 11:24 p.m. Saturday reported he had been assaulted by his brother-in-law. He said no fight had ensued, and he did not wish press charges.

FOREST KNOLLS – A young woman at 10:35 a.m. Saturday told officers a man keeps calling and asking to speak with her father or says "he knows more about her life than she does,�" a deputy reported.

BOLINAS – A resident at 10:53 a.m. Saturday complained there were several campsites on the beach. She said county firefighters were en route there to put out a smoldering fire. When a deputy arrived on the scene he found the "campfire out" and didn’t spot any campers.

POINT REYES STATION – Deputies at 1:29 p.m. Saturday received a report of a traffic accident on Fourth Street. The drivers exchanged information, and a towtruck was summoned.

DOGTOWN – Medics responded at 1:54 p.m. Saturday when a member of the staff injured his shoulder trying to restrain a student.

BOLINAS – A resident at 9:24 p.m. Friday complained that there were numerous underage young people drinking in front of the postoffice. A deputy found "large groups of juveniles around town [but] no alcohol [was] seen."

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 1:25 a.m. Saturday complained that a group of drunken males and females were being loud. Following her call, a second resident complained about youths partying in the �street.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue caller at 2:44 a.m. Saturday complained about youths "blasting music on the beach." He said he was a guest in someone else’s home. A deputy subsequently radioed that he was "out with 100" parties and would disperse them. However, when the crowd refused to disperse and became rowdy, the officer called for a backup.

BOLINAS – A Wharf Road resident at 3:16 a.m. Friday complained about a man playing loud music in his Toyota truck. The resident said that when he complained, a very drunk man got out of the truck and pushed him. A deputy arrested the 41-year-old man on charges of public drunkenness. The man was taken to a detoxification center.

TOMALES – A school staffer at 2:20 p.m. Friday reported an eighth-grade girl had been found to have marijuana in her possession. The girl was cited to the Juvenile Probation Department.

INVERNESS – A resident at 4:04 p.m. Friday told deputies that another man in the neighborhood has been playing loud music afternoons and evenings for months. A deputy gave him advice.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 6:19 p.m. Friday complained that a vehicle was parked across the street in such a way as to prevent him from getting into his own driveway. A deputy determined that the convertible, which had been manufactured in the 1980s, was owned by a man in Oakland.

WOODACRE – A man at 6:58 p.m. Friday reported that a powerline was down but not arcing at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Railroad Avenue. He added that the line was down because a car had run into a utility pole. The silver-colored car then drove into Woodacre on Railroad Avenue, he said.

LAGUNITAS – A Mount Barnabe resident at 10:46 a.m. last Thursday told deputies a 20-year-old man was hiding on his property and has trespassed there before. He said officers are already looking for the man.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Rosario Road resident at 12:55 p.m. last Thursday said that "a woman was removed from his property on Sept. 19 and left behind her keys," a deputy reported. The officer quoted the resident as complaining that the woman keeps calling him and accusing him of stealing her keys. At the advice of a deputy, the resident agreed that the keys would be driven to the Berkeley Police Department, where she could pick them up.

MARSHALL – A Marshall-Petaluma Road resident at 1:33 p.m. last Thursday reported both his mail and his neighbor’s had been stolen. A deputy referred him to the Postal Service.

OLEMA – Medics were summoned at 2:44 p.m. last Thursday when an 80-year-old woman collapsed from heat exhaustion. Medics transported her to Kaiser Hospital.

SAN GERONIMO – A resident at 5:22 p.m. last Thursday reported her husband, who has been evicted, was trying to break into her house. She said the 60-year-old man was in the process of breaking through a window.

SAN GERONIMO – Deputies and firefighters at 9:17 p.m. last Wednesday responded to a report of a propane tank leaking at a Wild Iris Road home.

FOREST KNOLLS – A woman at 7:37 a.m. last Wednesday reported that a man had called and said he would kill her. She said she wasn’t asking for a deputy to come by, but an officer told her how to get a court to issue a restraining order against the man.

FALLON – Deputies and Highway Patrol officers at 2:55 p.m. last Wednesday received a report that a vehicle was on fire just north of Fallon-Two Rock Road on Highway 1. Someone might be trapped inside, deputies were told. Officers found the vehicle was merely smoking with no flames.

BOLINAS – A man at 7:17 p.m. Sept. 21 told deputies than on the previous Sunday during a party on the beach, a thief stole his daughter’s camera, cell phone, and cash.

WOODACRE – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 10:07 p.m. Sept. 21 notified deputies that someone outside had a dog whose back was bleeding. The person was given the phone number of a veterinarian. County firefighters at 10:16 p.m. Sept. 21 reported a man and woman were having a quarrel over a dog. The dog, which had been hit by the man’s truck, was taken by the Human Society while the man, who fell out of his truck, was taken to Marin General Hospital for stitches.

LAGUNITAS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 4:02 p.m. Sept. 20 reported a woman had stolen his cell phone the previous day.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 10:17 p.m. Sept. 20 received a report that a vehicle had run into a ditch at Elm and Maple roads. No one was hurt, and the Highway Patrol handled the mishap.

POINT REYES STATION – A resident at 11:36 p.m. Sept. 20 reported someone was banging on his backdoor.

WOODACRE – Medics responded to Oak Grove Avenue at 2:35 p.m. Sept. 20 when someone had a "reaction to a bee sting."

POINT REYES STATION – The new commander of the sheriff’s West Marin substation, Lt. Scott Anderson, has asked The Light to let readers know a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. The Sheriff’s Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substation’s phone number is now 446-4418.

 

September 23, 2004 Sheriff's Calls

SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK – A camper at 6:55 p.m. Saturday reported that a woman had overdosed on pills. Another camper said the woman had been "throwing things around her campsite" and subsequently "ran away." At 7:02 p.m. Sunday, the woman told a ranger at the entrance station that she had taken 12 anti-depressants. The ranger told deputies the woman was "very disoriented and can barely walk." The 50-year-old woman said she had passed out for awhile in a restroom.

RED HILL – County firefighters at 8:21 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that a Mazda Miata roadster on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road had overturned and plunged 60 feet down an embankment. Thirty minutes later, a deputy was asked to look for a second vehicle that might have been involved in the crash, but none was found.

LAGUNITAS – A resident at 9:54 a.m. Sunday told deputies his wife, 54, had suffered a nervous breakdown, had thrown breakable items down stairs, and then left.

POINT REYES STATION – A citizen at 10:51 a.m. Sunday went to the sheriff’s substation to turn in credit cards and a California driver’s license, which the citizen had found. The cards and license belong to a Valley Ford woman.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Rosario Road resident at 11:44 a.m. Sunday told deputies the owner of her home had threatened her and had previously broken her neck. She also accused him of growing marijuana. However, when deputies went to the house at 3:30 p.m., they arrested a different man, aged 50, on charges of possessing crack cocaine for sale, possessing narcotics paraphernalia, trafficking in drugs, and possession of a hypodermic needle. The man remained in jail as of Monday. Also arrested was a 56-year-old man at the home. He was wanted on two warrants involving driving after his license had been suspended.

MARSHALL – A woman at 7:38 p.m. Saturday reported that two men were stranded on a floating dock offshore of Miller Park. Deputies notified the Coast Guard, which noted there was limited visibility and no floating docks in the area. After receiving word that the dock had been "launched" at Lawson’s Landing, the Coast Guard agreed to search for it.

OLEMA – Campground staff at 10:18 p.m. Saturday complained to deputies that people in the overflow area were refusing to move their vehicles to where they belonged. A camper told deputies he wanted to file assault charges against a security guard "because the man touched him," a deputy reported.

STINSON BEACH – A Calle de la Sierra resident at 12:52 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that six to eight juveniles had a fire on the beach and were making noise. She said the group had refused her request to keep the noise down, adding that the was also concerned that sparks from the fire could set her wooden roof on fire.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 3:59 a.m. Sunday complained about a large party with a fire on the beach. A deputy later reported the partygoers were leaving.

BOLINAS – A resident at 8:34 a.m. Saturday reported a $1,800 sewing machine had been stolen from a shed. She said she believes here stepson, 45, took it, adding that he has stolen things from her in the past.

BOLINAS – A Wharf Road resident at 8:41 a.m. Saturday complained that a group of men and women were camped out in bushes. She said they appeared drunk and that their dog had been barking all morning.

BOLINAS – A resident at 10:32 a.m. Saturday complained that a 55-year-old woman, who lives on her property, was screaming that she wanted medical care for a lame horse.

BOLINAS – A man at 11:41 a.m. Saturday filed a report about a "recent" burglary.

DILLON BEACH – Medics responded at 11:59 a.m. Saturday when a 15-year-old Boy Scout, whose troop was camping at Lawson’s Landing, jumped 15 to 20 feet from a rock onto soft sand and injured his back.

POINT REYES STATION – A main street merchant at 12:01 p.m. Saturday complained that a motorcyclist had parked on a sidewalk and had refused to move his bike. When a deputy arrived on the scene, the biker was gone.

SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK – A woman at 2:02 p.m. Saturday called deputies with a third-hand report that youths were "tagging" a bridge using spray paint. She said rangers were en route to the bridge. A deputy found three boys, checked their identification, and took away their paint.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 4:04 p.m. complained that a band playing in a business was too loud. The merchant said the band was there to promote a sale and would be quitting in half an hour. At 5:53 p.m. another woman called to complain about the band and was given advice. At 8:04 p.m. the first resident complained again. A deputy subsequently reported the problem was abated and the band was packing up.

INVERNESS PARK – A Drakes Summit Road resident at 5:42 p.m. Saturday told deputies two males were tampering with a vehicle. When a deputy arrived on the scene, they were gone.

MARSHALL –A motorist at 8:04 p.m. Friday called deputies from Tony’s Seafood Restaurant to report having crashed when he swerved to avoid a deer on Highway 1. Forty-five minutes later, the 18 year old called deputies again to report he was "freaking out, says he is shaking and feels faint," a dispatcher reported. The youth said he had not consumed any drugs or alcohol that day. The Highway Patrol determined there was no damage to his vehicle.

WOODACRE – A caller at 10 p.m. Friday told deputies she was having a small party when a bunch of youths tried to crash it. She said she had gotten rid of the youths, but one of them was vomiting as a result of consuming too much alcohol. The youth was transported to Marin General Hospital.

MOON HILL – Deputies at 8:02 a.m. Friday received a report of a non-injury traffic accident on Nicasio Valley Road. The Highway Patrol handled the mishap.

LAGUNITAS – A Cintura Avenue resident at 8:15 a.m. Friday reported a tan van and been stuck in a ditch for four days. She said she had seen people going in and out of it at night. Deputies found that the motorist has left a note on the van saying it would be moved by Monday. A deputy tagged it for removal.

FOREST KNOLLS – A woman at 9:13 a.m. Friday told deputies a 35-year-old woman walking beside Sir Francis Drake Boulevard kept "charging into traffic."

NICASIO – A resident at 11:37 a.m. Friday told deputies she had been informed by her bank that someone was fraudulently using her checking account.

BOLINAS – A resident at 1:40 p.m. Friday reported a burglar took a guitar from a trailer on her property. At 2:25 p.m. she called back to said the burglar had returned in a white hatchback car and had dumped stolen items in the street. A deputy could not find the burglar.

WOODACRE – A resident at 5:15 p.m. Friday told deputies she had returned from vacation to find her garage door kicked in and its door frame broken. She said her daughter may have done it. The daughter at 8:18 p.m. asked deputies how to get a court to issue a restraining order against her brother. A deputy gave her advice.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 10:16 .m. last Thursday told deputies he had met another man at "the lake" and brought him home. While the resident was in the kitchen mixing drinks for them, he said, the second man stole between $400 and $500 from his wallet.

BOLINAS BAY – The Coast Guard at 12:24 a.m. last Wednesday notified deputies they had boarded a boat and found drugs. Deputies took a report that a woman had been in possession of half an ounce of marijuana. The woman had a letter from a doctor prescribing medical marijuana for her, but the prescription had expired 45 days earlier. The District Attorney will decide whether to file any charges.

NICASIO – Medics responded when a resident at 2:21 p.m. last Thursday reported her 15-month old child was not breathing. Despite a language barrier, she managed to convey to authorities that the child had a high fever earlier in the day.

POINT REYES STATION – The Humane Society at 9:31 p.m. Sept. 14 asked a deputy to shoot a deer to put it out of its misery. The deer had been injured in traffic on the levee road.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 10:19 p.m. Sept. 14 complained about fireworks, especially because of the fire hazard they might be creating.

POINT REYES STATION – A Highway 1 resident at 8:36 a.m. Sept. 14 reported nausea, pain in her kidneys, and dizziness.

POINT REYES STATION – A woman at 1:18 p.m. Sept. 14 called deputies from B Street to complained that vandals had thrown beer bottles against a building during the night.

BOLINAS – An Overlook Drive resident at 1:54 p.m. Sept. 14 reported two cats were locked in a van with its windows rolled up. The resident did not know if the cats had any water. She also said trash was "piling up" at the van. A deputy found the van, which belonged to a homeless woman, contained food and water for the cats, which were fine.

DILLON BEACH – An Oceana Drive resident at 7:43 p.m. Sept. 13 told deputies a delivery person had been "verbally abusive" toward her, that he was "scary," and that she was worried about his returning the next day.

MARSHALL – A fisherman at 12:14 p.m. Sept. 13 reported that when he returned to his truck, he found a vandal had broken a headlight, as well as a tail light, and had jammed the driver’s door.

DOGTOWN – A man from the school at 3:29 p.m. Sept. 13 told deputies a 14-year-old boy had assaulted someone that morning and was being detained. The youth was now cooperative, school staff said. Deputies cited the youth to the Juvenile Probation Department.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 3:42 p.m. Sept. 13 received a call from Wharf Road that someone had broken into a locked shed; however, it had not yet been determined if anything had been stolen.

September 16, 2004 Sheriff's Calls

POINT REYES STATION – Fairfax Police at 8:21 p.m. Sunday asked West Marin deputies to contact a Cypress Road resident to see if he knew where his motorcycle was. A Fairfax resident had told police someone had dropped the motorcycle off at his house and told him not to tell anyone, but thanks to him the stolen motorcycle was recovered still in good condition with "not much damage" and its gas tank a quarter full.

WOODACRE – A resident at 11:12 p.m. Sunday told deputies that her husband, who had been drinking, had grabbed her and pushed her onto a bed. A deputy talked by phone with the husband, who does not live with his wife, and he sounded as if he had been drinking. He said he was upset with his wife, admitted grabbing her, but did not hit her.

FOREST KNOLLS – Deputies recovered a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser at 12:10 a.m. Monday following a crash on Tamal Road. Deputies were told the driver may have suffered an injury to his right leg. Nonetheless, the 31-year-old man fled on foot but was caught and arrested.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Lagunitas School District trustee at 4:04 a.m. Monday reported someone was in the parking lot screaming and had threatened to kick her. The trustee said she believed the other person was high on some drug.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 3:57 a.m. Sunday received a report that a four year old was having an asthma attack, causing him to have trouble breathing and setting off a panic attack. A rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene but did not land. The child was transported to a hospital by ambulance. At 9:37 a.m., a Wharf Road resident asked why the helicopter had been flying very low that morning and shining lights onto Bolinas.

NICASIO – Deputies at 9:57 a.m. Sunday received a report that three cars were illegally parked along Lucas Valley Road at Big Rock. By the time a deputy reached the scene, they were gone.

LAGUNITAS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 12:48 p.m. Sunday told deputies that someone posing as a deputy has been calling her and saying he has information on her daughter. A deputy gave her advice.

TOMALES – A helicopter was summoned and deputies and medics responded Sunday afternoon after a motorcyclist crashed on the Tomales-Petaluma Road.

BOLINAS – An Olema-Bolinas Road resident at 3:05 p.m. Sunday complained that juveniles in three kayaks had been scaring seals in Bolinas Lagoon; however, the youths had now left.

FOUR CORNERS – The Highway Patrol at 3:28 p.m. Sunday responded to a vehicle crash. There was only minor damage.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue woman at 8:40 p.m. Saturday reported hearing firecrackers and a lot of yelling.

OLEMA – A member of the campground staff at 8:44 p.m. Saturday complained about a camper being "obnoxious." Deputies determined the man was on probation and had already gotten into trouble elsewhere. He was arrested on charges of violating probation.

SAN GERONIMO – Deputies at 9:05 p.m. Saturday received a call from someone at the golf course who said a motorist was "very upset" after accidentally killing a fawn. A deputy removed the deer from the road and notified the Humane Society.

DOGTOWN – The Highway Patrol at 9:33 p.m. Saturday reported a motorist had crashed into a tree, was now complaining of pain in the back and ribs, and could not move.

WOODACRE – A woman at 1:37 a.m. Saturday complained that a few people had been making noise, slamming doors, and playing loud music for an hour. A deputy spoke with someone else in the neighborhood, and he agreed to keep the noise down.

BOLINAS – Medics responded to Olema-Bolinas Road at 7:50 p.m. Saturday when someone had an allergic reaction to nuts.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 8:40 p.m. Saturday complained about fireworks in her area.

INVERNESS – Deputies at 7:58 a.m. Saturday received a report of a dead deer on the pavement at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Inverness Way. A deputy removed the deer from the road.

NICASIO – A bicyclist, who was not wearing her helmet, crashed on Nicasio Valley Road at 9:34 a.m. Saturday. Although she was conscious, she was bleeding from a head injury and having difficulty breathing, deputies were told.

DOGTOWN – An ambulance responded at 12:34 p.m. Saturday after authorities were told a motorcyclist had crashed. Medics were unable to find either the motorcycle or the rider.

BOLINAS – A motorist hit a dog at 2:57 p.m. Saturday and received a deep bite when he stopped and tried to "console" the dog. Medics controlled the motorist’s bleeding. At 5:39 p.m., the dog’s upset owner showed up at the Point Reyes Sheriff’s Substation with the body of his pet, which had ultimately died.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD – The Highway Patrol at 4:46 p.m. Saturday responded when a vehicle crashed, blocking a lane. No one was hurt.

WOODACRE – A resident at 5:45 p.m. Saturday said his ex-wife had stolen television sets from his house. He said the two of them are in a child-custody dispute. The ex-wife told deputies her ex-husband had been at her residence, screaming.

INVERNESS – A woman at 6:01 p.m. Saturday reported her husband had overturned a catamaran. Deputies contacted both the Inverness Fire Department and the National Seashore about a possible rescue by boat.

OLEMA – An off-duty Park Service ranger at Five Brooks notified deputies at 6:33 p.m. Saturday about a single-car traffic accident on Highway 1. Initial reports said three people were injured and transported to hospitals and that the driver was arrested on charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The highway was closed for about an hour.

BOLINAS – A woman at 11:39 p.m. Saturday complained about people in the Terrace Avenue neighborhood working on cars, revving engines, and using loud tools. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.

TOMALES – A Coast Guard officer at 12:19 a.m. Friday told deputies that people were sleeping in a VW bus parked at Tomales-Petaluma Road and Alexander Road. A deputy moved the people along.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 4:45 a.m. Friday were notified that a Red Toyota Supra had run off Highway 1 and into a marshy area beside Bolinas Lagoon. There was no one in the vehicle. The Highway Patrol, which handled the accident, reported a front wheel had come off the Toyota’s axle.

HICKS VALLEY – The Highway Patrol at 8:04 a.m. last Thursday handled a non-injury traffic accident at Point Reyes-Petaluma Road and Novato Boulevard.

WOODACRE – After a woman complained, deputies at 9:33 a.m. last Thursday ticketed a vehicle for parking next to a fire hydrant at Castle Rock and Laurel avenues.

DOGTOWN – A man at 11:01 a.m. last Thursday reported a hitchhiker was yelling at passing vehicles, passersby, and bicyclists. The man was later seen along Highway 1 near Hagmaier Pond, and at 3 p.m. a deputy found the homeless man going through garbage in Point Reyes Station and asking for help.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 11:29 a.m. last Thursday told deputies she had bought tickets to an event via the Internet for $200. She said she had sent the money but never received the tickets. The woman noted that the Internet trading company would reimburse her for part of her loss, and deputies took a fraud report.

POINT REYES STATION – The high school reported that a youth, who was already under house arrest, had been driving recklessly on campus and had not registered with the administration that he was at school. When a deputy went to the youth’s house at 4:43 p.m. last Thursday, he found a rifle in the youth’s room, which further violated the suspect’s probation. The deputy took the youth into custody. When The Light checked Monday, the boy was still in custody.

CHILENO VALLEY – A patrolcar driven by a deputy received minor damage to a front bumper on Chileno Valley Road at 8:28 p.m. Friday.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 1:07 a.m. Saturday complained about hearing "very loud music" for two hours. A deputy found a small group of youths with a radio on the beach. After he told them about the complaint, the youths "packed up" the radio and left.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 1:19 a.m. Saturday complained of hearing a crashing noise coming from a nearby residence and people outside yelling obscenities. The resident, who was very upset, said she believed people were drinking at a party and insisted that the noise be stopped. A deputy contacted the host, who shut the music down and brought his guests inside.

TOMALES – Medics responded at 12:59 p.m. Friday when an 11-year-old boy, who was doing "a flip on a swing," fell and hit his head. The boy received a "large knot" on the back of his head and was transported by ambulance to a hospital for evaluation.

POINT REYES STATION – A Mesa Road resident at 8:38 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies she had seen two men climb over the fence around the affordable-housing project. A deputy could not find them.

DILLON BEACH – Paramedics responded at 9:32 p.m. last Wednesday when a diabetic on Marine View Drive had a seizure.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 11:33 p.m. last Wednesday reported a man in his 50s and a woman in her 30s were having a fight. She said they had been drinking.

SAN GERONIMO – A woman at 11:46 p.m. last Wednesday reported hearing people in the neighborhood arguing. She said she believed people at their house were involved with marijuana since she had seen "cars coming and going all night and leaving within 15 minutes." However, the address she gave for the house was wrong.

BOLINAS – A woman on Wharf Road at 1:16 p.m. last Wednesday reported that a man with a walker was being abusive and loud. She said he might be drunk, but a deputy determined he wasn’t.

MUIR BEACH – A resident at 1:38 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies she had received a call from someone who claimed to work for Publishers’ Clearing House. If she would send him $1,500, "Publishers’ Clearing House would drop off $485,000," she quoted him as saying. She added that when she started to question the man, he hung up.

LAGUNITAS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 1:48 p.m. last Wednesday reported his vehicle had been stolen during the night. A deputy gave the resident advice and turned the case over to the Highway Patrol.

POINT REYES STATION – Firefighters at 4:02 p.m. last Wednesday reported someone had fallen and received a cut to the forehead.

WOODACRE – A man at 7:40 p.m. Sept. 7 reported tripping, falling down two steps, and receiving a cut to his head. A deputy was told the man had been drinking. Officers also received a second-hand report that an off-duty was on the scene attending to the victim.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 10:35 p.m. Sept. 7 reported hearing several males and a female on the beach screaming, "Die! Die! Die!" A deputy could not find the group.

LAGUNITAS – A Charles Lane resident at 7:48 a.m. Sept. 7 told deputies she had heard a loud explosion.

FOREST KNOLLS – A woman at 11:25 p.m. Sept. 7 reported that two real estate signs had been vandalized over the weekend. She asked deputies for advice.

BOLINAS – A Coast Guard officer at 1:40 p.m. Sept. 7 told deputies he was en route to work when he saw a vehicle in a ditch at the Bolinas Wye. He did not know if anyone had been injured.

BOLINAS – Firefighters at 8:37 p.m. Sept. 6 reported a bicyclist had crashed on Olema-Bolinas Road.

TOMALES – A Highway 1 merchant at 9:25 a.m. Sept. 6 reported that someone had broken into his business during the night and vandalized it but took nothing.

STINSON BEACH – Deputies at 1:36 p.m. Sept. 6 received a report of road rage between two men in their 30s. Officers were told the dispute might escalate into a fight.

POINT REYES STATION – The new commander of the sheriff’s West Marin substation, Lt. Scott Anderson, has asked The Light to let readers know a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. The Sheriff’s Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substation’s phone number is now 446-4418.

STINSON BEACH – Two vehicles on Highway 1 collided head-on just north of town at noon Wednesday. Medics took one person to a hospital by ambulance.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD – A westbound car drifted over the centerline and hit an eastbound car head-on two miles east of Point Reyes Station at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. The impact sent the westbound car spinning off the road, but the woman driving it was not injured. The woman driving the westbound car was briefly knocked unconscious but escaped major injuries.

MARSHALL – A Highway 1 resident at 8:13 p.m. Sunday complained that a man in his 40s, who lives on a boat, had consumed enough alcohol to be "very altered." He said he had asked the man to stay away from his house, but the man "keeps getting off his boat and coming up to [the] house ... [and] "making obscene statements." A deputy arrested the man on charges of public drunkenness.

NICASIO – A 73-year-old Lucas Valley Road resident fell and possibly dislocated her hip.

STINSON BEACH – A man in Seadrift subdivision at 9:26 p.m. Sunday complained about people shooting off fireworks on the beach at the end of Sacramento Patio. He said he was concerned about fire danger.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 1:31 p.m. Sunday reported that an 11-year-old girl had remained at a girlfriend’s home past curfew, and "her stepfather went over, grabbed her by the hair, dragged her out by the hair, and slapped her." The resident said he had also seen the stepfather, who is in his 40s, "drag the child down the hall" to his own residence.

LAGUNITAS – A woman at 11:54 p.m. Sunday complained about "loud whooping, banging of drums, and loud music" in her neighborhood.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 12:10 a.m. Monday told deputies she could hear loud partying on the beach. A second resident calling from the Little Mesa said he had seen fireworks being shot off from the end of Wharf Road. A deputy could not find anything amiss.

BOLINAS – A man at 12:21 a.m. Monday complained of being hit in the face while at a bar.

STINSON BEACH – A resident at Calle del Arroyo and Calle del Occidente at 12:36 a.m. Monday reported fireworks on the beach, including skyrockets.

FALLON – The Humane Society at 10:20 a.m. Sunday notified deputies a deer, which might still be alive, had been struck in traffic at Fallon-Two Rock Road and Gericke roads. An officer could not find it.

MARSHALL – A man on Highway 1 at 11:23 a.m. Sunday reported two men had stolen green-plastic recycling bins and drove off with them in the backseat..

MUIR BEACH – A resident at noon Sunday complained that 50 cars were parked illegally on Pacific Way at Highway 1. He told deputies that if emergency vehicles needed to drive down the "narrow road," they would find their way blocked by cars on both sides of Pacific Way.

FALLON – Deputies and medics responded at 12:25 p.m. Sunday when a motorcycle crashed at Highway 1 and Fallon-Two Rock Road. Medics transported the motorcyclist to a hospital by ambulance.

OLEMA – County medics responded to the National Seashore Visitor Center at 12:31 p.m. Sunday when a male tourist had an allergic reaction to a bee sting.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 2:32 p.m. Sunday received a report that two Wharf Road habitués were involved in a fracas. At least one of the combatants, 57, had been drinking, officers were told.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Rosario Road resident at 3:24 p.m. Sunday complained that a man in his house was refusing to leave.

DILLON BEACH – An irate man on Beach Street flagged down a deputy at 3:49 p.m. Sunday to complain that a boy had run into his car, causing damage. The man, who is from Lodi, said he was having an argument with the boy’s parents as to whom was at fault.

FALLON – Deputies at 4:14 p.m. Sunday received a report that seven vehicles had piled up at Highway 1 and Bodega Highway and that some of the people in the crash had "major injuries." Medics, the Highway Patrol, and a rescue helicopter responded. The following day, five cars piled up at the same location, killing two girls.

BOLINAS – A resident at 4:44 p.m. Sunday reported three or four vehicles illegally parked at Brighton and Park avenues.

BOLINAS – A woman on Wharf Road at 5:34 p.m. Sunday reported a man with a walker had been drinking and was now being disorderly, taunting people and yelling. A deputy determined he was not drunk.

WOODACRE – A man at 6:59 p.m. Sunday told deputies that a woman with orange hair, who came up to him and his baby, appeared to have an "altered" state of mind. A deputy cited the woman on charges of possessing narcotics paraphernalia.

BOLINAS – A woman at 8:50 p.m. Sunday reported that�another woman was having an allergic reaction to a peanut. Medics and deputies responded.

INVERNESS PARK – Deputies and firefighters were summoned to the Silver Hills neighborhood at 9:27 p.m. Sunday when a barbecue too close to a house started a fire that threatened a building and a vehicle.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 9:28 p.m. Sunday reported there was a bonfire at the end of Walla Vista.

DILLON BEACH – A woman at 9:47 p.m. Sunday reported her 44-year-old husband had locked his 15-year-old daughter in an upstairs room with him and wouldn’t open the door.

SAN GERONIMO –A Meadow Way resident around 10 p.m. Sunday reported hearing juveniles skateboarding and making "slamming noises" at the school. The juveniles were gone when a deputy arrived on the scene. The deputy found no damage to school property.

STINSON BEACH – A Calle de la Resaca resident at 11:27 p.m. Sunday complained there was an illegal bonfire on the beach. A deputy later reported that "fires were put out [and the] crowds dispersed."

TOMALES – Firefighters at 12:37 p.m. Saturday responded to a small grass fire at Alexander and Tomales-Petaluma roads.

POINT REYES STATION – Deputies, medics, and the Highway Patrol responded at 12:47 p.m. Saturday when a motorcycle crashed on Highway 1 just north of downtown.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 1:34 p.m. Saturday received a report that a deer had been struck in traffic at Horseshoe Hill Road and Highway 1. A deputy determined that the deer was a fawn which had been dead awhile.

STINSON BEACH – A woman at 3:27 p.m. Saturday complained that a large man was "screaming and yelling" at her. He was now going to the park, she said, only to tell officers a moment later that he was now coming back and "swearing" at her.

MUIR BEACH – A woman at 6:56 p.m. Saturday reported a white sportscar was on fire and had sparked a grass fire. She added, "The car looks like it is going to blow up." The woman said the sportscar may have spun out and crashed.

MARSHALL – A resident at 5:18 p.m. Friday reported that a Sonoma County contractor had threatened him and threatened to burn down his ranch. The man called deputies again at 7:05 p.m. to asked that officers make extra patrols around his house.

DILLON BEACH – A member of the campground’s staff at 9:22 p.m. Friday said�she had received a complaint from a camper that a second camper was still running his generator although campground rules forbid the use of generators after 9 p.m. A deputy abated the problem.

WOODACRE – A Carson Road resident at 9:43 p.m. Friday complained about hearing drums beating for the past 20 minutes. A deputy could hear drumming when he arrived in the neighborhood, but the drumming stopped before he could locate it.

TOMALES – Deputies at 11:14 p.m. Friday received a report of a grassfire on Middle Road. The fire had set a fence on fire. In addition, a tree was blocking Middle Road. Deputies and firefighters had to detour via the Valley Ford-Franklin School Road and Highway 1 to reach the fire.

NICASIO – A woman at 11:50 p.m. Friday reported that her 34-year-old roommate was "acting crazy and shouting profanities." She said the woman has emotional problems.

NICASIO – Deputies and the Highway Patrol responded at 3:37 a.m. Saturday when a car ran off the road. No one was hurt, and the driver left before officers arrived.

BOLINAS – A resident at 8:33 a.m. Friday reported a burglar had forced his way into her Toyota car, leaving fingerprints and tool marks.

STINSON BEACH – A woman on Calle del Mar Sunday told deputies she needed assistance in turning a schoolbus around because of excessive traffic and pedestrians.

MARSHALL –A Marshall-Petaluma Road resident at 3:14 p.m. Friday reported her boyfriend pushed her into a vehicle, but she got out, and the boyfriend left.

BOLINAS – Firefighters at 6:14 p.m. Friday turned over to deputies a "fully loaded" backpack found on Overlook Drive. Deputies noted there was an airline claim check with the backpack.

WOODACRE – A resident at 3:55 p.m. Friday told deputies her female roommate was harassing her. She said the roommate was "drinking, yelling, [being] physically intimidating, and threatening."

POINT REYES STATION – Someone at 4:48 p.m. Friday turned over to firefighters a backpack found two weeks earlier.

STINSON BEACH – Medics and the Highway Patrol responded, along with deputies who provided traffic control, after a vehicle overturned at 4:58 p.m. Friday.

JEWELL – A car driven by an elderly woman overturned on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 5:34 p.m. Friday.

WOODACRE – A resident at 12:37 a.m. Friday reported�hearing something banging and her hot tub being turned on. She said there was a large, brown sedan in her driveway.

POINT REYES STATION – A woman at 8:09 a.m. last Thursday reported an 80-year-old man with a history of heart problems was experiencing pain in his stomach.

MARSHALL – A woman at 2:13 a.m. last Thursday told deputies there were four cows loose on Highway 1 at Clark Road. Deputies referred the matter to the Highway Patrol.

BOLINAS – A woman at 12:06 p.m. Aug. 31 told deputies her six-year-old granddaughter’s $80 bicycle had been stolen or misplaced.

BOLINAS – A deputy at 11:13 a.m. Aug. 30 saw 14 marijuana plants growing on the property of someone who is already on probation. The officer took photos of the plants.

WOODACRE – A woman at 1:50 p.m. Aug. 30 complained to deputies that her brother had accused her of changing the lock on the garage door. She said her 60-year-old brother is a drinker and has guns.

LAGUNITAS – A man called deputies from Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 10:10 p.m. Friday to say that somebody under a bridge was yelling and screaming. A deputy went to the bridge and found a man "singing at the top of his lungs."

FALLON – The Highway Patrol responded at 8:02 p.m. Friday when a vehicle ran into a utility pole along the Fallon-Two Rock Road.

STINSON BEACH – A Calle de la Sierra resident at 8:58 p.m. Friday notified deputies there was an illegal bonfire on the beach. "People are twirling sticks that appear to be on fire," she added. A deputy told the people their fire was illegal, and they put it out.

DOGTOWN – A deputy at 1:32 a.m. Saturday stopped a White Toyota Camry on Highway 1. A Highway Patrolman arrested the driver on charges of drunk driving. The driver’s car was put in storage.

DILLON BEACH – A deputy driving a patrolcar at 9 p.m. Saturday hit a deer at Lawson’s Landing. The collision broke the left headlight.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 7:13 a.m. Friday told deputies that a man in his 40s was sleeping in a white van parked on the street. She said this is an ongoing problem and that a number of people smoke marijuana during the night and fall asleep in the van. A deputy advised the van’s owner that in Marin County it is illegal to sleep overnight in a vehicle.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Montezuma Avenue resident on Friday told deputies a second man had taken a registration sticker off the license plate of a neighbor’s vehicle. He said the culprit was 20 to 30 years old and driving a cream-colored van.

STINSON BEACH – A woman at 4:25 p.m. Friday told deputies her purse had been taken from a vehicle parked along Highway 1. Missing, she said, were a cell-phone, keys, jewelry, credit cards, a checkbook, and $100 in cash.

BOLINAS – A man at 4:36 p.m. Friday notified deputies that an unwell woman was lying on the sidewalk at Brighton and Park avenues. He said the woman had gotten dizzy and passed out for 15 seconds but then regained consciousness and was alert.

STINSON BEACH – US Park Police at 5:44 p.m. Friday notified deputies that a 15-year-old boy was in the parking lot with a detached Achilles tendon. Police said the boy was going into shock. Medics and deputies responded.

SAN GERONIMO – A resident at 8:14 p.m. Friday reported there was a neighbor yelling and screaming in her yard. She said the neighbor sounded as if he had been drinking. The resident added that the neighbor was upset because her husband had yelled at the neighbor’s kids to stay off his property.

POINT REYES STATION – A woman at 4:08 a.m. Monday reported seeing three people with flashlights in the lumberyard. A deputy determined the three were preparing to go to a parade in Nevada.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident at 8:14 a.m. Sunday complained that a man in his 40s was sleeping overnight in his white Ford van parked on the street. She described his sleeping in the van as "an ongoing problem" and said the man was currently in the van. When a deputy found the man, however, he was sitting up and reading a newspaper. The officer moved him along.

TOMALES – A Tomales-Petaluma Road resident at 9:07 a.m. Sunday told deputies that a 12-year-old boy had tripped, fallen down, and possibly broken a leg above the knee.

WOODACRE – A woman at 9:06 a.m. Sunday told deputies that while her seven-year-old daughter was "rough-housing" with a neighbor, he slapped her with an open hand. She said she did not wish to file a complaint but merely wanted advice.

SAN GERONIMO – A man at 9:57 a.m. Sunday complained that his neighbors’ children were playing on his property. He said he had talked with the youngsters’ parents, but they refused to remove their children from his land. A deputy determined the problem was a civil-code issue and not a criminal-code issue.

TOMALES – Firefighters at 1:13 p.m. Sunday reported a motorcyclist had crashed.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 1:31 p.m. Sunday said there had been a large party in a nearby house the previous night and that this morning he found his vehicle had been ransacked. Nothing was taken, he said.

BOLINAS – A man at 2:14 p.m. Sunday reported a woman had passed out in the lobby of the community center. She was breathing but not moving, he said. A deputy determined the woman was merely "sleepy," and she left.

LAGUNITAS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 3:52 p.m. Sunday complained about hearing amplified music for more than an hour. A deputy found "a band in [a] canyon had stopped 20 minutes before, and the problem was abated.

STINSON BEACH – A person, who found a pink-leather purse containing credit cards and a driver’s license, turned it over to deputies at 6:08 p.m. Sunday. A deputy contacted the owner and arranged for her to pick it up.

SAN GERONIMO – A resident at 7:37 p.m. Saturday complained about loud music for an hour at a neighbor’s party. A deputy found adults holding a surprise birthday party, and the host agreed to turn the music down.

POINT REYES STATION – A deputy at 9:04 p.m. Saturday arrested a motorist at Highway 1 and Mesa Road on charges of drunk driving.

BOLINAS – A woman at 11:07 p.m. Saturday complained that two vehicles parked in a lot nextdoor were shining headlights on her house.

POINT REYES STATION – A Highway 1 resident at 11:54 p.m. Saturday told deputies she had heard footsteps and had heard crashing noises in her loft three times. She then heard a vehicle "take off."

FOREST KNOLLS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 1:48 a.m. Sunday complained about someone swearing and yelling. A deputy found someone listening to music, and the person agreed to turn the volume down.

INVERNESS – A woman at 9:04 a.m. Saturday reported hearing two dozen gunshots in the Chicken Ranch Beach area.

BOLINAS – A resident at 2:37 p.m. Saturday complained about vehicles parked on a curve of Park Avenue, creating a traffic hazard. Deputies ticketed several vehicles.

STINSON BEACH – Deputies at 5:08 p.m. Saturday received a report that the Highway Patrol had closed the northbound lane of Highway 1 at Calle del Mar because of "multiple shark sightings." However, a lifeguard later told The Light one shark had been seen twice. The lifeguard was skeptical that it had caused traffic problems on Highway 1.

BOLINAS – A man notified deputies from Mesa Road at 5:54 p.m. Saturday that a boat had overturned, but its three occupants had made it to shore. However, they appeared cold, he added. Deputies and medics responded.

BOLINAS – A man at 1:24 p.m. last Thursday reported his cell-phone was missing.

SAN GERONIMO – A man at Nicasio Valley Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard notified deputies at 2:37 p.m. last Thursday that an elderly man, who was disoriented, had shown up. Medics took the man to Marin General Hospital.

LAGUNITAS – A resident at 4:31 p.m. last Wednesday complained about a man and woman having sex in San Geronimo Creek near Lagunitas Road. She said the couple left when she asked them to. At 3:36 p.m. the following day, she notified deputies that the couple was walking along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near their watery love nest.

STINSON BEACH – A Seadrift Road resident at 4:33 p.m. last Thursday reported a female being struck in the head by a kayak. Deputies were told she was now out of the water but bleeding.

LAGUNITAS – A deputy at 4:59 p.m. last Thursday took a report for a "fender-bender" on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

NICASIO – Deputies at 9:54 p.m. last Wednesday received a report that a husband and wife were having a loud quarrel. Deputies were told that the wife, 46, "has been throwing things" and had "smashed a coffee pot."

INVERNESS PARK – A resident at 12:06 a.m. last Thursday reported hearing a vehicle crash at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Balboa Avenue. A deputy found that a vehicle had run off the road and received minor damage.

STINSON BEACH – A Buena Vista Avenue resident at 2:20 a.m. last Thursday notified deputies her husband had just seen the dome light of their car go on and off and had seen someone in the car. The intruder had left the area, she said.

LAGUNITAS – A resident at 9:21 a.m. last Wednesday complained about his neighbor’s dog "pooping" in the resident’s driveway. A deputy talked with the neighbor about controlling her dog.

INVERNESS – A man called from Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 11:10 a.m. last Wednesday to report that a lodger had vandalized a room. He said he had taken photos of the damage. Deputies determined the incident was a civil-code, not a criminal-code, issue.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 12:42 p.m. last Wednesday reported a man had arrived "in a bathrobe and boots and was unable to remember anything." The woman said the man had been taking medication, and this might be responsible for his being disoriented.

BOLINAS – An Olema-Bolinas Road resident at 3:15 p.m. said four or five adults were fishing in the lagoon and joking about fishing for seals and using a large piece of metal on a stick. A deputy found a "large group" of people fishing, and all were using normal fishing gear.

NICASIO – A Lucas Valley Road resident at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 24 complained that a green Saab had been abandoned in his driveway. He said it had been there for several days and was blocking the driveway and that he would like it towed away.

INVERNESS – An elderly driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove off Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 1:50 p.m. Aug. 24. The vehicle somehow managed to slip between a utility pole and a wooden fence and land nose down in a three-foot-deep "ravine." The woman received bruises and scrapes when her car’s airbag deployed. She was taken by ambulance to Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda.

TOMALES – The Highway Patrol responded at 2:26 p.m. Aug. 24 after a person in a blue vehicle was injured in a crash at Highway 1 and the Dillon Beach Road.

STINSON BEACH – A woman at 8:11 p.m. Aug. 23 reported a man was walking along Highway 1 north of town "ranting and raving." She added that he was carrying something.

POINT REYES STATION – Deputies at 7:55 a.m. Aug. 23 received a complaint that people were camped in a small car along the levee road. A deputy told them that except in a campground, it is illegal in Marin County to sleep in a vehicle overnight. He moved them along.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 1 p.m. Aug. 23 reported his digital camera was stolen from a bench along Highway 1.

POINT REYES STATION – A man at 3:05 p.m. Aug. 23 reported a 67-year-old woman had fallen and hit her head on the ground. He said she was bleeding and had pain in her head and hand.

INVERNESS – A 73-year-old man fell down at 4:05 p.m. Aug. 23 and dislocated a shoulder.

POINT REYES STATION – The new commander of the sheriff’s West Marin substation, Lt. Scott Anderson, has asked The Light to let readers know a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. The Sheriff’s Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. The substation’s phone number is now 446-4418.
