STINSON BEACH A vandal threw a rock, breaking a Seadrift Road residents window, the man told deputies at 11:23 a.m. Sunday.
STINSON BEACH A Highway 1 resident at 2 p.m. Sunday told deputies she wanted to file a report in which she intended to claim that her estranged husband may not be properly caring for their son when the boy is in the fathers custody.
WHITE HOUSE POOL A deputy at 12:45 a.m. Sunday stopped a car with an improper license plate. When the 24-year-old driver allegedly gave the officer forged identification, he was arrested.
BOLINAS Two deputies were walking on Wharf Road at 1:40 a.m. Friday when they spotted a reckless driver, whom they directed to stop. However, the driver "intentionally" drove at the officers, who avoided him. Although the driver got away, deputies with the help of witnesses and photos have been able to identify him.
DILLON BEACH A camper at 8:40 a.m. Sunday complained that while people camping next to her had "a big party" the previous night, a thief stole an ice chest and water jug from the back of her pickup truck.
BOLINAS An Overlook Drive resident at 9:30 a.m. Friday reported receiving numerous hangup phone calls at work and at home. She said she also received a note saying, "Im watching you."
INVERNESS A Via de la Vista resident at 3:30 p.m. last Thursday complained of receiving numerous hangup phone calls.
POINT REYES STATION A man at 3:30 p.m. Friday went to the West Marin Substation to report that his brother-in-law had called him and threatened to punch him if the brother-in-law saw him in the Point Reyes area again. Deputies said the man used to work for his brother-in-law, but they had a falling out.
INVERNESS A Hawthornden Way man at 9:30 a.m. Saturday dropped off three shotguns at the Sheriffs Substation and asked that they be destroyed.
DILLON BEACH A Marine View Drive resident at 1 p.m. last Wednesday reported his house had been burglarized.
LAGUNITAS A man, who lives next to the Mount Barnabe fire lookout, at 8:20 p.m. Saturday said he was keeping an eye on his neighbors property for them and could see an off-duty firefighter wandering on it. He subsequently said "the suspect" was leaving, deputies reported. Last week, the same man also complained to officers he had been harassed for months with hangup phone calls.
WOODACRE A woman at 1:40 p.m. Monday notified deputies that she had loaned her car to a man two days earlier. The man subsequently told her the car had broken down and that he had taken it to a shop. However, the car was not there, she said, and she didnt know the mans last name.
MUIR BEACH Deputies at 1:35 p.m. Monday received a report of two fallen motorcyclists at Muir Woods Road and Panoramic Highway. Officers later reported that only one motorcyclist had fallen over.
DILLON BEACH Deputies, Tomales firefighters, and a Coast Guard crew from Bodega Bay responded to a report at 2:10 p.m. Monday that a vessel was in distress in the surf off Lawsons Landing. It later turned out that when a 17-foot boat ran out of fuel, the one man aboard tried to switch gas tanks, but the second tank wouldnt work, causing the boat to drift onto a sandbar. Both the man and the boat were saved.
INVERNESS San Leandro Police at 3:20 p.m. Monday reported they had recovered some of the items taken in a burglary on Camino del Mar last June.
BOLINAS A woman at 4 p.m. Monday told deputies she was worried about a 40-year-old woman who had been "living in the hills" with a man. The man, however, is now in jail for assaulting the first woman, who said she has not seen the 40-year-old woman recently.
BOLINAS The county Road Department at 4:45 p.m. Monday notified deputies there was a log with a "Slow Down" sign on it in the middle of Overlook Drive. Road Department staff told the logs owner to remove it, but he was "uncooperative" and "refused" to take the log out of the road, county staff said. Eventually, the log was taken out of the roadway.
BOLINAS Firefighters at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday notified deputies that electric lines were down on Bolinas Olema-Bolinas Road near the wye. The lines were not completely broken, but they were sparking and had "started a small fire in the trees," firefighters said.
STINSON BEACH A woman on Buena Vista Avenue at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday asked to speak to the deputy whod had her car towed away. She said the car had been parked on the street only three hours. The watch commander in San Rafael told the deputy he could release the car to the woman.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at 12:08 a.m. Sunday reported hearing and seeing fireworks being shot off from Open Space District land. A deputy could not find whoever was responsible for the fireworks.
STINSON BEACH A woman at 12:08 a.m. Sunday complained about an bonfire on the beach near Calle del Embarcadero. She said she believed two young males had fallen asleep by the fire, adding that this was the third time in a week she had complained about illegal fires on the beach. A deputy could not find anyone on the beach, and the fire was put out. At 8:35 a.m. the same day, the woman complained about two bonfires on the beach and people sleeping next to them. She gave the license number of the peoples truck to deputies, who determined it belonged to an Oakland woman. The truck was gone when a deputy arrived.
DILLON BEACH A man at 12:43 a.m. Sunday notified deputies there were seven or eight black cows on the pavement at the intersection of Dillon Beach and Franklin School roads. He said they were a traffic hazard; however, the cows were gone when a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION A man at 1:50 a.m. Sunday notified deputies he could hear what sounded like a verbal dispute between two men. However, when he looked out the window, he discovered the two were actually pushing a pickup truck with a camper shell northbound on Highway 1 from the Green Bridge.
POINT REYES STATION A Highway 1 resident at 8:45 a.m. Sunday reported that a tan-colored Volvo had crashed into her fence the previous night and that she had heard males run from the scene, get into another vehicle, and speed away. Deputies determined the driver lived nearby, contacted the Volvos owners, and they agreed to pay restitution to the woman.
DILLON BEACH A Maui Lane resident at 10:12 a.m. Sunday complained about heavy equipment being used for landscaping despite a county ordinance limiting hours of operation. A deputy contacted people working in the mans neighborhood, and they agreed to stop for the day.
SAN GERONIMO A caller on San Geronimo Valley Drive reported that while walking he had seen an encampment in the hills for someone without a home. The caller, whom deputies described as "uncooperative," said he did not see the homeless person, only lots of personal items. The encampment was gone when a deputy arrived.
TOMALES A man at 11:45 p.m. Sunday complained that there were five people illegally hunting on neighboring land. He said he had secured a court order in 1991 prohibiting hunting there for environmental reasons. He said the hunters had a brown pickup truck.
INVERNESS A man at 12:45 p.m. Sunday complained about loud music coming from a house in the area of Vision Road and Madrone Avenue. He advised officers that the residents have a pit bull and that he didnt know if it was outside. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
WOODACRE A woman at 4:35 p.m. Sunday complained that a drunk man was refusing to leave the house where they lived. She said he has no history of violence but had pushed her.
STINSON BEACH A deputy at Calle del Arroyo and Calle del Embarcadero at 5 p.m. Sunday notified the Highway Patrol that a possibly drunken motorist had overturned a car. Medics treated the driver for minor scrapes.
STINSON BEACH Following a traffic accident at Calle del Arroyo and Highway 1 at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, the driver of a 1986 blue Toyota was cited for driving with a suspended license. The Toyota was towed away.
SAN GERONIMO A woman reported that someone had parked a vehicle at a fire gate and was building something on Open Space District land. A deputy contacted the owner of the vehicle and found he was just hiking. Nothing was being built.
OLEMA Deputies at 5 p.m. Saturday received a complaint of loud music from a party on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Deputies contacted a band, who said it would move indoors and quiet down.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 5:30 p.m. Saturday reported that squatters were living in a building. She said the owner of the building had authorized her to get the squatters out with the help of deputies.
STINSON BEACH A 60-year-old woman missed her bus home after attending a Shakespearean play and at 10 p.m. Saturday told deputies she needed a ride to Mill Valley. The watch commander authorized a deputy to drive her home.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Resaca resident at 11:30 p.m. Saturday complained that 10 loud juveniles had a bonfire on the beach 30 feet from her home. A deputy told the group to put out the fire and move along.
WOODACRE A Central Avenue resident at 11:50 p.m. Saturday reported a group of juveniles were congregated in front of her house, making lots of noise. She said she would like an officer to quiet them down. The juveniles were gone when a deputy arrived.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 11:50 p.m. Saturday reported a small bonfire on the beach. A deputy contacted two people and told them about the county ordinance prohibiting fires and camping on the beach during summer weekends. The two extinguished the fire.
WOODACRE A woman at 12:01 a.m. Sunday complained about live music on Maple Road. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
STINSON BEACH A deputy at 12:07 a.m. Sunday found a group had a bonfire on the beach at the end of Calle del Occident. He told the group to put out the fire and dispersed them. Most of the group were residents of beach houses, the deputy reported.
INVERNESS PARK A deputy at 12:45 a.m. Sunday spotted a stolen Chevrolet Camero parked along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. No one was around the car, but when two men came out of the woods, he stopped them at gunpoint. After fingerprints were lifted from the car, one of the two was jailed.
WOODACRE A 46-year-old woman at 1:30 a.m. Sunday complained that a 34-year-old man, who was her boyfriend, had pushed her out of a vehicle and then got out himself and urinated on her.
OLEMA Deputies at 2:30 a.m. Sunday received a 911 hangup call and found a man and woman quarreling in front of a restaurant. There was "nothing physical" to the quarrel, deputies reported, but the man agreed to stay away from the woman for the night. A deputy drove the upset woman, who had been drinking, back to her campsite.
INVERNESS PARK A resident at 9 p.m. Friday complained about extremely loud music along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. He said there had been a similar problem in the past with people in the area. He said he didnt know which house the music came from and that it had ended 20 minutes earlier.
BOLINAS A Terrace Avenue resident at 9:15 p.m. Friday complained that 20 to 30 juveniles had illegal bonfires on the beach. The problem was abated before an officer arrived, and the fires were put out.
MARSHALL Deputies at 12:08 a.m. Saturday received a report that five people on a pier at Marconi were shooting off something, possibly a gun. The caller said the five had been drinking.
FOREST KNOLLS A Morelos Avenue resident at 8 a.m. Friday told deputies he had hired "a guy" to work on his roof, but the guy "was messing up," so he fired him. Although he paid the guy, the guy stole his guitar, the resident said. A deputy determined there had been no theft and that the guitar had been given to the guy by the resident, who now wanted it back.
WOODACRE An Edgemont Drive woman told deputies she feels she has been the victim of a fraud. She said she donated a vehicle to a supposed charity in April and signed off on the owners certificate. However, the vehicle has not been registered nor has its title been changed, she said.
FOUR CORNERS A deputy at 6:35 p.m. last Thursday noted a gate had been left open, and six cows were in the roadway. The deputy summoned the Highway Patrol.
BOLINAS Deputies were notified that a 50-year-old woman was again "talking about killing herself." Officers noted she was a recovered alcoholic who has started drinking again.
POINT REYES STATION A restaurant at 11:25 p.m. complained that a drunk employee was behind the restaurant in a vehicle with someone else. The employee should not be in the vehicle, restaurant staff said. Deputies could not find the employee.
INVERNESS A Via Del Vista resident at 3:35 p.m. last Thursday told deputies she has been receiving numerous hangup phone calls every day.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD A bicyclist at 5:50 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies he had stopped at a turnout and noticed "remains," including intestines, which had been cut up. He said the remains did not appear to be from an animal because there was no fur. A deputy determined the remains were "old meat scraps."
POINT REYES STATION A bartender at 9:40 p.m. last Thursday told deputies she was concerned that a drunk woman had left the bar and might try to drive home to Inverness. However, it turned out that the woman was in a restroom, and when she came out, an officer determined she was not drunk but did need a ride home.
LUCAS VALLEY ROAD A big rig carrying more than 30 five-gallon cans of freeway paint partly overturned at 1:24 a.m. last Thursday. Although no paint was spilled, the crash did block Lucas Valley Road. The Highway Patrol asked the county Department of Public Works to gather up the paint cans.
MARSHALL A ranger at 10 a.m. last Wednesday complained that someone is pulling his boat onto a beach and chaining it inside Miller Park. The ranger asked a deputy to cite the boat owner or at least contact him and tell him he was tying up in a county park, not a boat-storage facility.
BOLINAS Deputies at 11:50 a.m. last Wednesday were notified of a single-vehicle crash at Horseshoe Hill and Olema-Bolinas roads.
DILLON BEACH A man, who was doing construction work on a residence and staying in Lawsons Landing, at 1 p.m. last Wednesday notified deputies that a thief had stolen wetsuits and a drill from him.
LAGUNITAS The owner of a collectors vehicle at 5:50 p.m. last Wednesday complained to deputies that a vandal had broken the backup lights on the vehicle.
TOMALES The county Department of Public Works at 8 a.m. Aug. 21 reported that a sheep had been hit on a roadway and was still alive. Deputies initially called for the Humane Society, but before it arrived, the owner shot the sheep.
STINSON BEACH Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Highway 1 and Panoramic Highway. The Highway Patrol took a report.
BOLINAS When a drunken employee tried to drive away on Wharf Road at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 21, his employer took his keys away from him after a struggle. The 43-year-old employee, who suffered scratches in the fracas, then left on foot, and the employer warned the man might be going for a second set of keys.
STINSON BEACH An Alameda Patio resident at 8:35 p.m. Aug. 21 complained about a bonfire on the beach near her home. A deputy abated the problem and told the people responsible for it that the county prohibits campfires on Upton Beach.
BOLINAS A man at 10 p.m. Aug. 21 reported that two 25 mph signs, which had just been erected at both ends of Overlook Drive, had been snapped off. A deputy determined there had been no sign damage.
CHILENO VALLEY Deputies at 11:57 p.m. Aug. 21 notified a rancher that his cattle were on Chileno Valley Road. The rancher said he would return them to their pasture.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. John Brunslik, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Brunslik said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. BOLINAS A man at 11:30 a.m. Saturday notified police that a second man, 33, had repeatedly rammed his car into the back end of the first mans car while it was parked on the street in front of the first mans home.
INVERNESS A thief stole an Inverness Park mans log-splitter while the splitter was at his mothers home on Camino del Mar, the owner told deputies at 11 a.m. Monday.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 3 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies that an embezzler had charged items to her credit card.
DILLON BEACH A woman at Lawsons Landing complained to deputies at 8:30 a.m. last Thursday that a burglar had broken a window and pried open a door to get into her trailer and steal $20.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Embarcadero resident at 9:25 a.m. last Thursday reported that vandals had spray-painted graffiti on her seawall. Five minutes later, a man next door also reported graffiti sprayed on his seawall.
WOODACRE A Redwood Drive resident at 8 p.m. Monday complained that a large tanker truck was parked in front of his house and that no one was in it. A deputy determined the tanker truck was not parked in front of the mans house. The trucks driver told the officer he was taking a four-hour break before driving to Los Angeles.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Piños resident at 8 p.m. Monday complained that her neighbor was drunk, calling her names, and yelling at her. A deputy, who determined the woman had also been drinking, abated the problem, and the neighbor said he would stop yelling.
STINSON BEACH A resident at Calle del Pradero and Highway 1 complained about renters with a campfire on the beach at 8:45 p.m. Monday. A deputy told the renters the fire was illegal, and they put it out.
BOLINAS Deputies at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday received a complaint about loud music coming from a vehicle parked on Wharf Road. All was quiet when an officer arrived on the scene.
FOREST KNOLLS A Tamal Road resident at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday notified deputies that she had just returned from vacation and found that her "stuff had been gone through." Taken were jewelry, coins, and cash. The resident said the culprit could be her 18-year-old daughter, who doesnt live with her.
BOLINAS A woman at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday reported her 12-year-old daughter was missing after the two of them had a dispute. The mother said her daughter had no history of running away.
OLEMA A deputy driving a patrolcar on Bear Valley Road at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday collided with a deer. The impact cracked the patrolcars grille.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD Novato police at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday reported a car had hit a deer. The police did not know if the deer was still alive, so deputies called the Humane Society, which couldnt find the deer.
INVERNESS PARK A woman staying at a bed-and-breakfast inn notified deputies that a cleaning woman had locked her and other guests out of their room. A deputy helped them get back in.
POINT REYES STATION A Campolindo Drive resident at 10:25 a.m. Saturday notified a deputy that a small plane was buzzing the town. He said it circled the town well below the legal elevation half a dozen times.
STINSON BEACH A Francisco Patio resident at 8 a.m. Sunday reported her two-foot-high picket fence had been destroyed during the night.
BOLINAS A caller at 9 a.m. Sunday complained about a very loud boombox playing outdoors in the vicinity of Ocean Avenue. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
FOREST KNOLLS A landlord at 11:15 a.m. Sunday asked a deputy to stand by while a tenant was evicted. No standby was provided.
MUIR BEACH Responding to a call from Pacific Way at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, deputies helped the Coast Guard search for a boat that was reported to be sinking. The boat was not found.
LAGUNITAS A woman at 3:45 p.m. Saturday complained that 20 to 25 people were swimming at the Ink Wells, which, she said, is on her property. She added that the swimmers had hung a rope swing, from which they were dropping into the privately owned swimming hole. Saying she was afraid people would get hurt, she told officers she wanted the swimmers off her property. At 3:10 p.m. Sunday, she called deputies again, this time to complain about 50 swimmers trespassing at the Ink Wells. A Marin Municipal Water District ranger confirmed that her boundary with public land was downstream from the swimming hole. Everyone left when a deputy asked them to.
BOLINAS A firefighter at 5 p.m. Sunday told deputies he had received a report of juveniles throwing firecrackers into the tennis court area. Although the firefighter admonished the juveniles, the fireworks started again after he left. All was quiet when a deputy arrived, but he too admonished the juveniles.
BOLINAS A caller at 5:20 p.m. Sunday reported that the operator of a sports utility vehicle with "big chrome wheels" had been driving on the grass of the town park and was now at the end of Brighton Avenue where surfboards were being loaded onto the vehicle.
OLEMA Deputies at 9:45 a.m. Saturday received a report of two cows on Highway 1 north of the cemetery. An officer contacted a rancher, and the cows were returned to their pasture.
WOODACRE A Madrone Avenue resident at 12:35 p.m. Saturday reported hearing a gunshot north of her home.
BOLINAS A woman on Olema-Bolinas Road at 1:10 p.m. Saturday reported a man in a yellow kayak and a woman in a green kayak were harassing seals in Bolinas Lagoon by not staying 100 yards away from them. She said the kayakers were now paddling toward Bolinas.
MUIR BEACH A woman from England at 5:35 p.m. Saturday reported losing a $180 camera in town six days earlier. She said Monterey police had already taken a courtesy report on the theft.
MARSHALL A woman at 5:15 p.m. Saturday returned home and found the electric wires to the watering system in her garden had been cut the previous night. She said this has happened before.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 7:12 a.m. Saturday reported $500 was missing. He later called back to say his secretary had found the money; however, he added, another $350 was now missing.
OLEMA An off-duty San Francisco police sergeant at 9:35 p.m. Saturday reported he was camping with some friends, three of which had gone horseback riding and were now three hours overdue returning. All the riders were eventually located.
DILLON BEACH a man at 10:12 p.m. Saturday complained about a loud party in Oceana Marin subdivision. When a deputy arrived, all was quiet, but he eventually found a resident who agreed to turn his music down.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Occident resident at 10:15 p.m. Saturday reported 12 to 15 juveniles were drinking on the beach and had a bonfire. A deputy advised the group the fire was illegal. They then put it out, picked up their garbage, and left.
TOMALES A resident at 11 p.m. Saturday reported a blue pickup truck was parked on John Street with a man sleeping in it. When the resident shined a flashlight in the mans eyes, he got no response. A deputy determined the man was to be in a bicycle race the next day and had no place to spend he night. The officer moved him along.
MARSHALL A man at 11:30 p.m. Saturday reported that a white, 1998 Ford Mustang driving northbound in the southbound lane of Highway 1 had run off the road and into a ditch, damaging the car. A deputy could not find the car.
BOLINAS Deputies at 12:06 a.m. Sunday received a complaint that a drunk woman was on Wharf Road.
NICASIO The Coast Guard at 12:53 a.m. Sunday passed along a second-hand report of a boat with a bright light in the middle of Nicasio Reservoir. Marin Municipal Water District, which owns the reservoir, told deputies it was not the districts boat.
DILLON BEACH Deputies at 4:50 a.m. Sunday received a call from a man who was crying and wanted help for a girl in Sacramento, who was possibly on drugs. Deputies gave the girls address to Sacramento police, who could not find her.
LAGUNITAS An Arroyo Road resident at noon Friday notified deputies that some documents had been taken from her basement. She also said that the hasp to a lock on her garage door had been tampered with.
LUCAS VALLEY ROAD A man on Friday told deputies he had heard nine to 12 shots from an automatic rifle on the north side of the road and was now hearing more gunshots.
WOODACRE A woman at 5 p.m. Friday notified deputies she could hear footsteps around her outdoor stairs and that her cat acted "strange" when it heard something. She said she was now locked in her bedroom.
WOODACRE A Carson Road resident at 7:40 a.m. Friday told deputies a suspicious man had come to her house, claiming to be from a cable-TV company. He said he had been referred by previous owners. She said he left on foot.
STINSON BEACH Deputies and the Highway Patrol at 12:40 a.m. were advised to be on the lookout for a drunk female driver on Highway 1.
WOODACRE A man notified deputies at 3:10 a.m. Saturday that he had just seen a stationwagon pull away from the Improvement Club. A deputy checked with the night maintenance supervisor and was told the stationwagon belonged to swimming pool-maintenance staff, who usually worked earlier in the evening.
BOLINAS A woman at 5:50 a.m. Saturday reported two campfires on the shores of Bolinas Lagoon. A deputy contacted two fishermen with small fires and told them the fires were illegal. The fishermen put the fires out.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 9:20 a.m. last Thursday reported a 40-year-old woman was standing in a trailer park yelling, "Dont hit me." The resident said no one was around the woman. The resident added that the woman was now trying to get on a two-seat bicycle and ride away. She said the other woman "is totally out of control" and that such occurrences are ongoing.
BOLINAS A caller at 3:50 p.m. last Thursday complained about trees being cut down without permission on Horseshoe Hill Road. A deputy could not find anyone responsible at the job site and reported he would forward the name of the construction company to the county Planning Division.
TOMALES A resident last Thursday complained of hunters hunting too close to his property. A deputy could not find the mans address.
POINT REYES STATION A merchant at 7:35 p.m. last Thursday reported that an unwelcome customer had come back to the merchants restaurant and was yelling and swearing at the staff. The customer left in an orange GMC pickup truck.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 8 p.m. last Thursday complained about a neighbor womans causing verbal disturbances for several days. The resident said she thought her neighbor might have emotional problems. A deputy gave her advice.
NATIONAL SEASHORE A drunk man at 9:45 p.m. last Thursday punched his fist through a window at a ranch. His brother then began transporting him to a hospital in a Ford pickup truck. A deputy waited for the truck in Inverness.
SAN GERONIMO A Sylvestris Drive resident at 11:15 p.m. last Thursday reported a vehicle had run over an embankment and that she could see someone coming from the vehicle. Deputies and the Highway Patrol concluded the vehicle had parked too close to the edge of the embankment and had rolled down it, overturning, with no one inside.
BOLINAS Deputies at 8:48 p.m. last Wednesday received a report that a 17 year old was throwing barricades around and damaging peoples vehicles by jumping on them. He had already done more than $600 damage, officers were told.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 8 p.m. last Wednesday received a report of a dead deer on Highway 1 near the video store. A caller said drivers were swerving to avoid the corpse.
WOODACRE Deputies at 11:30 p.m. last Wednesday received a complaint that people were throwing things against the side of the firehouse, where a construction crew is working. Officers called firefighters, who said they would stop making noise.
MUIR BEACH A Pacific Way resident at 12:02 a.m. last Thursday reported hearing two explosions and seeing flashlights near the federal beach restrooms. A deputy went to the beach and asked 10 people to leave.
INVERNESS A woman at 8 p.m. Aug. 14 reported losing her purse containing her identification and credit cards during the Inverness Fair.
POINT REYES STATION A Mesa Road resident reported medication was missing from her house and said a friend may have stolen it. She later called back to say she was mistaken and that she had found the medication.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. John Brunslik, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Brunslik said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. NICASIO RESERVOIR Deputies noticed that a Belmont womans car had been parked along the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road a half mile west of Nicasio Valley Road for 72 hours. They reported she might be missing under suspicious circumstances.
BOLINAS Deputies at 11:30 p.m. last Thursday filed a felony domestic-abuse report after a man "inflicted corporal punishment" on a woman.
BOLINAS A business reported at 9:30 a.m. Saturday that a man had charged $300 worth of tools to another mans account without permission.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at 9:10 a.m. Monday reported property had been stolen from the school the previous week.
BOLINAS Deputies at 12:15 p.m. Monday received a 911-hangup call. When they called back, a woman answered the phone, said there was no problem, and abruptly hung up. A deputy called her neighbors and was told there was a family dispute underway. Three minutes later, a woman called deputies to say she was not the victim although her name had been given to officers.
LAGUNITAS An Arroyo Road resident at 1:17 p.m. Monday reported he had been threatened by a woman against whom he had secured a court-issued restraining order. A deputy determined there had been no threats and gave the man advice about the restraining order.
BOLINAS A woman at 2:35 p.m. Monday notified deputies that her 22-year-old daughter was throwing things around the house. The mother said she herself had not been physically threatened but that she thinks her daughter may be a drug addict.
BOLINAS A utility district employee on Olema-Bolinas Road at 2:50 p.m. Monday told the Sheriffs Department that two adults in a red canoe and two juveniles in kayaks appeared to be harassing seals in Bolinas Lagoon. A deputy was directed to use his public address system to get the four to leave the seals alone.
BOLINAS A woman at 5 p.m. Monday reported a homeless encampment had again been set up across the street from her residence. The woman and a relative had previously complained several times about the encampment, and a camper earlier this summer agreed to move elsewhere. He was gone when a deputy arrived.
WOODACRE A Redwood Drive resident at 6:30 p.m. Monday said her mother-in-law had "come after her with a shovel," deputies reported. An officer gave the woman advice on how to get a court-issued restraining order against her mother-in-law.
OLEMA A man at 3 a.m. Tuesday complained about two men in a white car talking noisily. He told deputies he "thinks they are on drugs because they seem so happy," officers reported. All was quiet when a deputy arrived, and the car was unoccupied.
WOODACRE A woman at 7:30 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that her 19-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son had left for the Cow Palace the previous day and had not returned.
LAGUNITAS A Portola Avenue resident at 1:20 p.m. Sunday complained that a Mountain King Road resident had followed her onto her property Friday and taken photos of her with a neighbor. He had also driven recklessly on her property, she said. Two days earlier, the mans wife had complained that a couple, who were in their 50s and wearing hiking clothes, were trespassing on her property. She told deputies that when she asked the man and woman to leave, they began harassing her and her husband. A third incident occurred at the county fire lookout near the couples house atop Mount Barnabe. The county has an easement to use Mountain King Road, which crosses the couples property, in order to reach the lookout. However, the husband complained that a construction crew working at the lookout was parking heavy equipment on his land without his permission. The construction crew, in turn, told a deputy that a crane had broken down and could not be moved until the U-joint was replaced. The crew pointed out that the crane was not blocking the mans road.
BOLINAS An Evergreen Road resident at 1:30 p.m. Sunday complained that her ex-son-in-law was harassing her.
SAN GERONIMO Deputies were called to San Geronimo Valley Drive and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 2:15 p.m. Sunday when a woman reported having a dispute with another fruit vendor. When a deputy arrived, he found three fruit vendors none of whom had county permits "arguing over placement of their produce." The deputy reported, "All were moved along and told to get county permits."
LAGUNITAS A woman at 2:45 p.m. Sunday complained that 20 people had set up a rope swing at the Ink Wells so they could drop into the swimming hole. She said adults, juveniles, and some dogs were trespassing at the Ink Wells, which is on her property. A deputy reported dispersing a "small group." Two days earlier the woman complained about a group of juveniles and adults jumping from the large pipe that goes over the Ink Wells. She said she was concerned that someone would get hurt and that she wanted them off her property.
BOLINAS A deer was struck in traffic on Highway 1 but was still alive when deputies were notified at 9 p.m. Sunday. An officer could not find it.
BOLINAS A firefighter at 9 p.m. Sunday reported that someone had come to the firestation and said "people were coming out of trees." The firefighter added that the person was acting "very strange." However, the person then left the firehouse, and a deputy could not find him.
BOLINAS A business on Wharf Road at 10:15 p.m. Sunday reported the theft of $720.
BOLINAS A firefighter reported there was a two- to three-month-old fawn with an injured foot at the firehouse. Deputies notified the Humane Society.
FOREST KNOLLS As a business was closing at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, two people came in and tried to buy cigarettes but were turned down, a merchant said. They then sat around for awhile in a vehicle parked across the street before going to a payphone, the merchant added.
OLEMA A man at 5:15 a.m. Monday said he was suspicious of two men in a parking lot, who were acting as if their vehicles engine was having problems. They were gone when a deputy arrived.
FOUR CORNERS The Highway Patrol reported a man was carrying a shotgun as he walked along the road at 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
SAN GERONIMO Deputies at 8 p.m. Saturday received notification of possible smoke from fireworks along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. An officer reported he would check on it.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 11:20 p.m. Saturday reported hearing her gate open and close, as well as some people whistling.
STINSON BEACH An Alameda Patio resident at 11:45 p.m. Saturday complained about six people with a bonfire on the beach. She said they were laughing and screaming. When a deputy arrived, there were no fires on the beach, and the people were gone.
WOODACRE A Central Avenue resident at 1:05 a.m. Sunday told deputies her neighbors were out of town, but there was a banging noise coming from their apartment. She added that animals might be causing the noise.
INVERNESS A resident at 3:40 a.m. Saturday complained of a loud party on Douglas Street. A deputy told the host to turn off the music.
LAGUNITAS Deputies were notified at 8:20 a.m. last Wednesday that vandals had done major damage to construction equipment. Marin Municipal Water District had been using the equipment to place fallen trees in parts of Lagunitas Creek to improve spawning conditions. The East Marin press speculated that the vandalism was the work of environmental activists who mistakenly believed the equipment was being used for logging, but the vandals either missed the front-page story or had other motives, for they returned two days later and damaged an excavator and a trailer.
NICASIO A woman at 10:30 a.m. Friday notified deputies that a saddled horse without a rider was running down Nicasio Valley Road. She said she didnt know where the rider was, and deputies could not find the horse.
NICASIO A Los Piños resident at 3:20 p.m. Friday complained that her ex-husband had gone into her tool shed and then departed.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 6 p.m. Friday told deputies that two juveniles were riding a dirt bike and a motorized scooter on North Forest Drive. He said he was afraid they would get hurt. They were gone when a deputy arrived.
BOLINAS A man at 6 p.m. Friday reported finding bloody clothes at Horseshoe Hill Road and Highway 1. A deputy determined the clothes were not bloody and that it appeared that someone had removed and discarded clothes with paint on them.
TOMALES A very upset woman at 6:40 p.m. Friday told deputies a second woman had threatened to come to her house and might hurt her because the second woman believes she is having an affair with the second womans husband. A deputy gave her advice.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 6:45 p.m. Friday complained about kids on gas-powered skateboards racing up and down Juarez Avenue and Montezuma Road. He said he was afraid they might be hit by a car. The skateboarders were gone when a deputy arrived.
FOREST KNOLLS A caller at 10 p.m. Friday complained about loud people in the town park. A deputy contacted them, and they left.
DILLON BEACH A burglar stole a television set from a house on Beach Avenue, deputies learned at 10:45 p.m. Friday.
LAGUNITAS A car hit a black Labrador retriever at 11:55 p.m. Friday on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at Arroyo Road. The car stopped, and the dog was still alive when deputies got word of the accident. However, the lab died before an officer got there.
WOODACRE A resident complained about a man recklessly driving a 1970s stationwagon at 30 to 40 mph on Carson Road. The resident said the driver had also yelled at him. A deputy could not find the motorist.
POINT REYES STATION A burglar stole a radio from a womans car parked on B Street, deputies learned at 1 p.m. last Thursday.
BOLINAS A resident complained at 1:10 p.m. last Thursday about music "blasting" from behind the garage. A deputy contacted the garage owner, who said he will see to it that a construction crew doesnt play its radio too loudly.
POINT REYES STATION One person was transported to Marin General Hospital after being injured in a traffic accident at Mesa Road and Lorraine Avenue at 6:50 p.m. last Thursday.
FOREST KNOLLS A Tamal Road resident at 11 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies she could hear screeching coming from her above-ground swimming pool. She said she was afraid to approach the pool to see what was going on. A deputy rescued four raccoons from the pool, which had only two feet of water in it.
WOODACRE A man at 8:15 p.m. last Wednesday complained about neighbors constantly speeding on Carson Road. He said he had almost been hit the previous evening. A deputy gave him advice.
NICASIO A Los Piños resident at 8:30 a.m. last Wednesday said a homeowners meeting was underway in his house when a 55-year-old man walked in and refused to leave. The resident told deputies he felt threatened.
POINT REYES STATION A caller on Tomasini Canyon Road at 1:40 p.m. last Wednesday reported that a man had jumped his fence and then gone into the hills. When the man returned, he left quickly in a blue Toyota, the caller said, adding that the man might be growing marijuana on the callers property.
INVERNESS A resident at 2:20 p.m. last Wednesday complained that a woman on Balmoral Way has been dumping her hedge clippings, branches, and phone books in the street. He objected to having to drive through the trash. A deputy said he would tell the woman to clean up the trash.
LAGUNITAS A woman from Ohio told deputies at 4:45 p.m. last Wednesday that she had set her purse down on the sidewalk and later found it had disappeared. She said she was flying back to Ohio the next day.
OLEMA Deputies responded to a non-injury traffic accident on Highway 1 at 5:20 p.m. last Wednesday.

STINSON BEACH Deputies at 11:15 p.m. Monday received a complaint that juveniles with an illegal bonfire were holding a party on Upton Beach. The party was "abated" upon a deputys arrival, the fire was extinguished, and everybody left. The officer ironically reported afterwards, "Surprising, a beer keg was left behind." The deputy confiscated the keg to be returned to its owner.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 6:30 p.m. last Thursday showed up at the West Marin Sheriffs Substation to complain that after an argument, her male companion threatened her. She said he had just gotten out of a detoxification program and was drinking again. The two were traveling in a motorhome, which the woman owned, and she drove off without him.
BOLINAS A man at 10:10 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a motorist in a four-wheel-drive pickup truck was driving recklessly and had almost run over him at Ocean Parkway and Aspen Road. The motorist was initially reported to be heading toward Highway 1 but was later spotted on Terrace Avenue. The victim gave officers the motorists name and said he apparently was trying to hit the victim with his truck.
BOLINAS A man on Evergreen Road at 10:30 a.m. last Thursday gave an officer some .22 caliber bullets and asked that they be destroyed.
STINSON BEACH A man on Calle del Ribera at 11:30 a.m. last Thursday told deputies the mother of his son had taken the child to New York without the mans permission.
NICASIO A deputy at 7:40 p.m. Monday provided traffic control while the Highway Patrol dealt with a wreck on Nicasio Valley Road.
STINSON BEACH A woman on Dipsea Road at 8:35 p.m. Monday reported her 12-year-old daughter and a friend had gone to a video store at 6:30 p.m. and had not returned.
BOLINAS A deputy near Thirteen Turns at 9:20 p.m. Monday found the gate to the fireroad unlocked and notified the Park Service.
POINT REYES STATION An Inverness man at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday reported the road was wet near Platform Bridge. It looked as if a water line had broken, he added. Officers called the county Department of Public Works which found that a 300-gallon tank containing the chemical Pozzolith was leaking. Pozzolith is added to liquid concrete to make it easier to work with and more durable.
POINT REYES STATION A motorist at 9:30 a.m. Monday walked into the fire department to report a vehicle accident on the west side of Highway 1 near Five Brooks. Deputies were unable to raise Highway Patrol officers by radio.
LAGUNITAS A man at 1:25 p.m. Monday complained of loud fireworks near Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 4:30 p.m. Monday complained that an old, rusted boat trailer had been parked in the area of Sixth and A streets for the past week.
BOLINAS A resident at 6:40 p.m. Monday complained that a man living behind the gas station plays his music too loudly. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
NICASIO A man at 9:40 p.m. Sunday reported five or six juveniles had a bonfire in a pit behind the Druids Hall. A deputy found five juveniles under adult supervision and was told they had permission to be there.
FOREST KNOLLS A man on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 11:20 p.m. Sunday asked a deputy for advice, saying he was trying to evict a woman from his property.
STINSON BEACH A woman at 2:40 p.m. Sunday reported a van was parked in front of a gate. A deputy cited the vehicle.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies were notified at 12:40 a.m. Sunday that a 30-year-old man had been overheard saying that officers were looking for him.
WOODACRE An employee of the Improvement Club at 3 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that an older van had driven past the clubhouse on "a little walkway" four times in the past five hours. He said he would set a burglar alarm. The van was gone when a deputy arrived.
MARSHALL The Highway Patrol at 12:27 a.m. Saturday forwarded a complaint to deputies that eight or nine vehicles were driving erratically on Highway 1. They were gone when a deputy arrived.
BOLINAS A resident at 12:30 a.m. Sunday said she could hear loud music in the vicinity of a bar but could not see any vehicles with stereos playing in the area.
OLEMA A resident at 1:30 a.m. Saturday complained that 20 loud people with music were creating a disturbance at the foot of Olema Hill. A deputy found the group, who agreed to quiet down.
WOODACRE A deputy on Castle Rock Avenue at noon Saturday placed an emotionally disturbed person under a 72-hour hold.
WOODACRE A man at 1:30 p.m. Saturday complained about loud music coming from Madrone Avenue.
STINSON BEACH Medics at 5:20 p.m. Saturday responded to a report that two people were having a reaction to poison oak. Deputies arrested the two on charges of being under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms.
OLEMA A citizen complained that a drunk was causing a problem on Highway 1 about 6 p.m. Saturday. A deputy determined the person was not drunk but told the person to move along.
BOLINAS A merchant on Wharf Road at 6 p.m. Saturday complained that a 30-year-old drunk woman was being belligerent inside a business and refusing to leave. The merchant later reported the woman had left.
WOODACRE Deputies at 6:15 p.m. Saturday received a complaint of loud music on Madrone Avenue. An officer phoned the person responsible and said that if the music was not turned down, a deputy would respond in person.

NICASIO A woman at 8:20 p.m. Saturday complained about a 45-year-old man harassing the staff of a business and said the mans vehicle had just struck a deer at Nicasio Square. A deputy arrested the man on charges of public drunkenness but released him after he sobered up.
WOODACRE A man at 9 p.m. Saturday reported a pickup truck with one male and one female occupant were parked near the postoffice playing loud music. He said he was concerned because of all the vandalism there in the past. A deputy could not find the vehicle.

SAN GERONIMO A Tamarack Avenue resident at 11 p.m. Saturday complained about loud music from a wedding party and asked that the music be turned down. Another woman complained about a party on Meadow Way and said she feared the guests parked cars could block firetrucks.

NICASIO A car at 12:15 p.m. Friday overturned near the county corporation yard on a frontage road parallel to Nicasio Valley Road. The Highway Patrol reported the driver, who was cut and incoherent, was hanging upside down from his seatbelt. Deputies assisted the CHP with traffic control.
LAGUNITAS A Cintura Avenue resident at 1:15 p.m. Friday said a man in his 40s, wearing a cowboy hat, and driving a pickup truck with camper shell, had stopped at a neighbors house and stolen fruit off the neighbors tree.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 2:15 p.m. Friday said someone had tried to break into a house under construction. A screen had been taken off a window, and a ladder was leaning up against the roof, he said. However, the burglar had been unable to get inside.
LAGUNITAS A man at 3:50 p.m. Friday reported losing a small, beige pack in a business. He said the pack contained his passport..
MUIR BEACH US Park Police on Friday notified deputies from Pacific Way that three people were using chainsaws which, the rangers believed, were illegal.
STINSON BEACH The Highway Patrol at 9:30 p.m. Friday reported a bonfire beside Highway 1. A deputy later reported a group of fishermen were now extinguishing the fire.

OLEMA A woman at 10:22 p.m. last Thursday reported seeing a man, possibly with a shaved head, crouching in a ditch beside Highway 1. When she turned around to get another look, the man was gone. However, a deputy later contacted him.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD A motorist flagged down a deputy at 11:30 p.m. last Thursday and said a reckless driver in a red pickup truck tried to force the motorist off the road and had made threats. A deputy determined no criminal activity had occurred.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies received a complaint at 11:45 p.m. last Thursday that people were shooting off fireworks behind a bar. The disturbance was abated before an officer arrived.
TOMALES A man at 11:45 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies he had seen several people kicking a phone booth. Deputies called a bartender, who said he couldnt see any damage but noted 10 juveniles were hanging around the booth earlier and did throw a stool.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD A black Toyota pickup truck overturned last Thursday night. A tow truck was called; however, a bilingual officer was needed, and none was available.
STINSON BEACH A Jose Patio resident at 2:45 a.m. last Thursday complained about five or six people with a fire on the beach. A deputy had them put out the fire.
LAGUNITAS A man at 11:10 p.m. last Wednesday complained about loud, amplified music in the backyard of a Lagunitas Road home. A deputy had the music turned down.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies at 8 p.m. July 24 received a report of a Holstein calf beside Highway 1. An officer herded the calf safely back into its pasture.
OLEMA A man at 10 p.m. July 24 reported a Hereford calf was loose on Highway 1 near the Olema Cemetery.
