BOLINAS Deputies at 2:45 p.m. July 15 received a report that a mother and daughter were having a verbal altercation over house rules and curfew.
BOLINAS A homeless man at 9:45 a.m. July 15 told deputies he had received his lost wallet in the mail, but $150 was missing from it.
LAGUNITAS A man at 9:15 a.m. Monday notified deputies that his girlfriend had noticed that approximately $5,000 worth of her jewelry was missing from their house. He said the burglar may have entered through a window.
POINT REYES STATION A merchant at 10:07 a.m. Monday reported that he had received a delivery of soda pop before his business opened, and the delivery truck driver had left it outside his door. A thief then stole one case of sodas, he said.
NICASIO A Nicasio Valley Road resident at 11:35 a.m. Monday told deputies her 77-year-old husband had threatened her with: "I guess you would like me to hit you." She said he had not hit her but had pushed her half an hour earlier.
POINT REYES STATION Someone at 12:22 p.m. Monday dropped off at the firehouse a doe with both back legs broken. A deputy shot the deer to put it out of its misery.
MARSHALL A Marshall resident at 1:10 p.m. Monday reported two men in a powerboat were firing a weapon, possibly at ducks. The resident said the boat was between Pelican Point and White Gulch.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at 3:01 p.m. Monday reported her ex-boyfriend took her credit card several months ago and has fraudulently charged purchases with it. She added that she has now had the card canceled.
INVERNESS A sheriffs patrolcar hit two deer on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday. Both received severe injuries, and one had its head split open, the deputy in the patrolcar reported. He shot the deer to put them out of their misery.
TOMALES A woman at 10:21 a.m. Sunday called deputies to say that an 80-year-old neighbor had a son, 44, who was not taking his medication and was talking to himself. The caller said the woman nextdoor asked her to call deputies after the son wouldnt let her use her own phone. The woman said the mother had also told her that earlier there had been a fire on her stove, and he wouldnt let her put it out.
POINT REYES STATION A woman complained that she had been almost run off Highway 1 by a motorist with whom she is having problems because of his three rottweilers. She said she considered the dogs dangerous. A deputy took a traffic report.
STINSON BEACH After a man may have seriously injured his shoulder on the beach, a rescue helicopter and deputy were summoned at 3:34 p.m. Sunday. However, both were called off, and fire department medics handled the case.
BOLINAS A man at 3:57 p.m. Sunday complained that three buses had been illegally parked on Brighton Avenue for the last three hours. He said they might have been carrying guests to a party on Brighton. A deputy found the three tour buses and ticketed them for alleged illegal parking.
MARSHALL Deputies and firefighters responded at 7:35 a.m. Sunday when a car caught fire on the Marshall-Petaluma Road between the McDonald and S-2 ranches.
FOREST KNOLLS A Castro Street resident at 9:58 p.m. Sunday reported that while he had been driving 30 minutes earlier, his car had been hit by a paint ball. He said he didnt realize the object was a paint ball until he got home.
SAN GERONIMO Deputies at 11:48 p.m. Sunday received word that a truck pulling a horse trailer had struck a deer at Lagunitas School Road. A caller said the vehicles were parked in the middle of the roadway. The Humane Society responded.
INVERNESS A caller notified deputies at 7:57 a.m. Saturday that a seal, which was wandering around on mudflats near the Inverness Store, might be sick. The caller later reported the seal was now back in Tomales Bay and looked healthy.
BOLINAS An Aspen Road resident at 11:19 a.m. Saturday reported that her vehicle had been vandalized during the night.
NICASIO A county Department of Public Works employee at 4:47 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a farmer, whose farm is not in the immediate vicinity, had brought a dumptruck and loader to the county corporation yard and was taking rock from the countys gravel pile. The employee asked that the farmer be told to unload his dumptruck, but it and loader were gone by the time an officer arrived.
BOLINAS A deputy at Brighton Avenue and the Olema-Bolinas Road took a stolen-bicycle report Saturday afternoon.
POINT REYES STATION A deputy assisted firefighters after a rider fell from a horse and had to be airlifted to a hospital by a helicopter, which landed on West Marin Schools field at 5:13 p.m. Saturday.
STINSON BEACH A Highway 1 resident at 5:40 p.m. Saturday reported that his ex-wife had broken into his house and taken unknown items. A deputy concluded there was "no merit to any crime" report.
BOLINAS A Wharf Road merchant at 6:07 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that someone had walked into his business and said a woman in her 30s was quarreling with people on the beach. The merchant said the woman, who was wearing a black hat, purple dress coat, and black skirt, was reportedly claiming that other people were "in her spot."
WOODACRE An intoxicated woman on Saturday night complained to deputies that a man had done some unspecified thing to her. She subsequently called back and said deputies should respond to her house. She then said, "Bye, bye," and hung up before officers could confirm her address.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies at 12:02 a.m. Sunday received a report of a verbal fight on Montezuma Avenue between a man and woman. Although the fight was not physical, the couple have a history of violence, officers were told. Deputies contacted both parties and abated the quarrel. An officer later reported that the "male will take a walk and calm down."
WOODACRE A woman on Rock Ridge Road at 4:18 a.m. Sunday told deputies she could her footsteps on her roof, which is accessible from a hill behind the house.
FALLON A woman at 5:10 a.m. Sunday complained of loud music and yelling coming from vehicles at Marshall and Valley Ford-Franklin School roads.
STINSON BEACH A man at 7:43 p.m. Friday told deputies that the driver of a silver-colored Suzuki had just dropped off his dog and collected a $500 reward but had refused to say how he got the dog. The man said the driver was last seen heading northbound on Highway 1.
LAGUNITAS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 11:05 p.m. Friday complained about a loud party and said he wanted it quieted down. A deputy contacted the host, who said the party was ending and that the music had been turned off.
STINSON BEACH A Novato man at 1:06 a.m. Saturday called deputies from a restaurant to say someone had stolen his car. The car was found on Panoramic Highway, and a deputy speculated the man "possibly just misplaced his vehicle."
NICASIO A Nicasio Valley Road resident at 9:56 a.m. Friday reported a black Toyota with a fire department logo on its rear bumper had been spinning donuts on the road half an hour earlier. She said the driver, who had a shaved head and was in his 20s, had been slowing down to about 25 mph in front of traffic before spinning the donuts and had almost hit a large truck head-on.
WALKER CREEK RANCH One youth-groups counselor at 12:03 p.m. Friday told deputies he believed that some other counselors possessed marijuana. He said he would like to talk with a deputy, and a meeting was scheduled.
SAN GERONIMO A deputy on Meadow Way at 1:32 p.m. Friday cited the driver of a small, off-road dirt bike on charges of failing to yield to an officer. The bike was impounded.
DILLON BEACH A woman at 2:28 p.m. Friday day reported losing her cell phone on the beach.
BOLINAS After a 50-year-old woman began screaming near the tennis courts downtown at 2:12 a.m. last Thursday, she was taken to the county crisis unit for a 72-hour evaluation of her mental condition.
LAGUNITAS A wheel came off a vehicle at 1:29 p.m. last Thursday, disabling it in the roadway. Officers were unable to push the vehicle off the road and provided traffic control until a tow truck arrived.
WOODACRE A 65-year-old Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident, whod had his hip replaced, fell and possibly dislocated it. He was transported to Marin General Hospital.
NATIONAL SEASHORE Deputies at 8:22 a.m. last Wednesday received a report of five bulls loose on Pierce Point Road. Deputies were unable to contact the rancher who owned them, but the officers were able to round up the cattle.
BOLINAS A Wharf Road merchant at 10:30 a.m. last Wednesday complained that a couple of transients had set up camp a month earlier across the street. He said there was no one at the encampment at the moment, "just trash and sleeping bags."
BOLINAS A resident of the Big Mesa last Wednesday complained that a man in his early 20s was carving a skull in the cliff (near Brighton Avenue) where there have been erosion problems. He noted one house in that spot had already been lost to the erosion, and he asked that the man be stopped. The man was gone when a deputy arrived.
PLATFORM BRIDGE Deputies at 4:15 p.m. last Wednesday received a report that a car carrying two women, one of them eight months pregnant, had overturned at Platform Bridge and Point Reyes-Petaluma roads. Deputies and paramedics who rushed to the scene instead found an older man and woman, whose vehicle had overturned west of the Nicasio Reservoir dam. The couples injuries were only minor.
INVERNESS PARK A Portola Avenue resident at 11:52 p.m. last Wednesday complained about a loud party in the neighborhood. A deputy found there had been a small gathering of juveniles which had been "abated" prior to his arrival.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. OLEMA A deputy at 12:59 a.m. Saturday shot a deer to put it out of its misery after it was hit by a car on Bear Valley Road.
TOMALES A member of the Shoreline School District staff at 10:16 a.m. Monday reported a vandal had thrown a rock through a schoolbus window, breaking it.
WOODACRE Deputies and medics responded at 11:53 p.m. Monday when a woman reported feeling faint and vomiting, as well as having stomach pains and trouble breathing.
POINT REYES STATION A 60-year-old woman at 4:37 a.m. Sunday notified deputies she could hear whistling and footsteps on her deck, but a deputy found no evidence of any prowler. At 12:08 a.m. Monday, she reported feeling faint and having trouble breathing. The woman said she suffers from high blood pressure and has a history of heart problems. At 8:53 a.m. the same day, she reported hearing someone trying to get through her bedroom door, adding she could smell smoke. A deputy found nothing amiss.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 7:43 a.m. Monday reported that $1,000 worth of tools had been stolen from his pickup truck parked on San Geronimo Valley Drive. He said he suspects homeless people are to blame.
TOMALES Deputies and medics at 9:24 a.m. Monday responded to a Dillon Beach Road residence to assist a 44-year-old man suffering from liver disease.
INVERNESS Deputies at 9:45 a.m. Monday received a report that 77-year-old Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident was having difficulty breathing. Officers and medics went to the aid of the woman, who has a pacemaker for her heart and who was recently hospitalized for pneumonia.
STINSON BEACH A woman on Highway 1 at 11:18 a.m. Monday complained about vehicles entering downtown at high speeds. She asked for extra patrols.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at 2:01 a.m. Monday said her 17-year-old son, who has mental problems, had pushed her out of their house. She asked that a deputy escort her back inside and admonish the boy. A deputy later reported that the problem was abated and that he had "mediated" between mother and son.
BOLINAS Deputies at 2:55 p.m. Monday received a call from a girl and heard a woman screaming in the background. The phone was then hung up, and when officers called back, the line was busy. When they called again, deputies reached a 13-year-old girl, who said her mother had hit her and that her head hurt. Officers said they could also hear the girl screaming at her mother to go away.
WOODACRE A woman at 3:30 p.m. Monday called deputies from a payphone and reported she and her husband had been quarreling over his "mistress." She said he kept telling her she is "crazy." She said she would wait for a deputy before returning home.
STINSON BEACH A woman at 7:51 p.m. Sunday reported her purse had been stolen. She said she had canceled her credit cards.
POINT REYES STATION A merchant at 8:45 p.m. Sunday reported that eight to 10 high-school-aged youths were smashing a bicycle by throwing it against a pole in the bank parking lot.
STINSON BEACH A resident of Calle del Piños at 9:06 p.m. Sunday reported hearing a party and fireworks on the street outside. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
OLEMA Deputies at 9:09 p.m. Sunday received a report that campground security were detaining a man and that a woman at a picnic table was screaming. Deputies noted she refused medical attention but didnt say for what.
POINT REYES STATION A woman reported her 52-year-old ex-husband, who lives in El Cerrito, had grabbed their daughter by the arm during a visit. A deputy noted that the arm was bruised and scratched.
MARSHALL A Highway 1 resident at 11:07 p.m. Sunday reported hearing yelling and several gunshots. She later called back saying she now believed the noise was from fireworks.
INVERNESS A resident at 2:33 a.m. Monday reported seeing fireworks for more than an hour. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
INVERNESS PARK A woman at 8:49 a.m. Sunday reported there had been a non-injury traffic accident on Douglas Drive. Deputies notified the Highway Patrol.
STINSON BEACH An 40-year-old man, who was not wearing a helmet, fell off a bicycle on Calle del Arroyo at 1:39 p.m. Sunday, cutting his face.
LAGUNITAS A woman at 7:46 p.m. Saturday reported a friend told her by phone, "I really screwed up." The woman said her friends ex-husband is an alcoholic and that she was worried he might hurt the friend.
NICASIO A resident living near the reservoir at 1:18 a.m. Friday complained about hearing a loud party at "a remote house on a ranch," deputies reported. A deputy contacted the household, who said they were holding an adult birthday party and didnt realize the noise could be heard "at such a distance."
INVERNESS A helicopter was summoned at 7:48 a.m. Saturday when 80-year-old man with a history of heart problems reported feeling faint.
NICASIO Deputies at 8:56 a.m. Saturday reported a vehicle had run through a fence along Nicasio Valley Road, but no one was injured. Firefighters found three occupants from the vehicle walking toward a horse ranch and drove them back to the scene.
DILLON BEACH A man on Marine View Drive at 9:23 a.m. Saturday complained that a group of youths were yelling profanities and stealing firewood from other peoples campsites. When a deputy arrived, no one was willing to press charges against the youths.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 10:53 a.m. reported his brother had stopped taking his medication and was out of control in a business. The man said his brother was "throwing things and holding [people] hostage."
NATIONAL SEASHORE A man at 1:44 p.m. Saturday reported a dog on a ranch had bit him in the ankle, leaving three scrapes. He refused medical care, but the Humane Society said it would speak to the rancher about the dog.
DILLON BEACH A woman at 2:41 p.m. Saturday reported that a thief driving a dark blue pickup truck had stolen firewood from an elderly couple, who rents a house on Oceana Drive from the woman. A deputy confronted the suspects at a campground, and they claimed they had permission to take the firewood.
WOODACRE A deputy at 5:07 p.m. Saturday met with several people about a disputed phone bill charged to an estate. The officer advised the group to take their dispute to the executor of the estate.
LAGUNITAS A woman at 6:01 p.m. Saturday asked a deputy if she could legally tape a phone conversation with a coworker if she does not inform the coworker of the taping. She said she is having problems with the coworker. A deputy said the dispute was a matter for civil court and gave her information on getting legal aid.
POINT REYES STATION An unlicensed driver at 6:02 p.m. Saturday caused property damage in a non-injury crash along Highway 1, deputies reported. Officers referred the matter to the Highway Patrol.
STINSON BEACH Deputies and medics at 6:06 p.m. Saturday went to the aid of a man who collapsed on the street. An officer said the mans pulse was faint.
STINSON BEACH A resident at 6:38 p.m. Saturday complained that her neighbor has an "aggressive rottweiler" that gets out of its yard and scares her children. The resident claimed that when she tried to talk the matter over with the dogs owner, the owner became "aggressive."
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 9:15 p.m. Friday reported that 20 teens were drinking and being rowdy at the town park. She later reported the youths had left but asked for extra patrols in the area.
NICASIO A resident at 3:03 a.m. Friday notified deputies he had heard a crash Lucas Valley Road that might have come from a vehicle hitting a pole. "It sounded bad," the resident said. The Highway Patrol notified deputies it was already at the scene.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 3:42 a.m. Friday notified deputies she could see a light with people moving about it across the bay. Deputies looked around Tomales Bay for the kind of light she described and found only some fishermen with a lantern and campfire in Marshall.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 9:14 a.m. Friday reported hearing gunfire or fireworks and people screaming, including male and female voices. A deputy noted the man sounded intoxicated.
INVERNESS An ambulance transported a 25-year-old woman from Second Valley to a hospital after she suffered a seizure.
TOMALES A woman at 2:27 p.m. last Thursday asked to have a social worker check on the sanity of a tenant and take him to the county crisis unit. A deputy determined the 40-year-old man was no danger to himself or others, so he was not picked up. At 5:04 p.m. the next day, however, the woman reported he was "talking to himself again." She asked that her tenants sanity be reevaluated.
BOLINAS An Evergreen Road resident at 6:14 p.m. Friday reported hearing a gunshot. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
BOLINAS Deputies and medics responded to a 8:10 p.m. crash last Thursday on Horseshoe Hill Road. The man who notified authorities about the crash noted the driver was up and walking around but bleeding from his nose and mouth. Deputies summoned the Highway Patrol.
MUIR BEACH A man at 9:33 p.m. last Thursday reported his children may have been sexually assaulted earlier in the day. He said someone allegedly touched their genitalia during a field trip.
INVERNESS PARK A caller reported hearing gunshots, "whooping, and hollering" at 10:14 p.m. last Thursday. All was quiet when a deputy arrived on the scene.
WHITE HOUSE POOL A deputy at 1:20 a.m. last Thursday found a stranded motorist carrying a poodle. The officer gave the man a ride to a payphone so he could call family members to pick him up.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies at 8:56 a.m. last Thursday received a report that two dogs were attacking a deer in a creekbed behind the saloon. An officer found the deer, which "had some blood and was shaken." It ran away when the deputy tried to approach it. The deputy also located one of the dogs, but it too ran away.
WOODACRE A Park Street resident at 3:30 p.m. last Thursday told deputies she thinks her neighbors have been vandalizing a fence she is erecting.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 6:48 p.m. last Thursday told deputies a group of youths in their late teens were being rowdy, breaking bottles, and urinating in the town park.
NICASIO A deputy at 8:53 p.m. last Wednesday shot a deer to put it out of its misery after it was hit by a car on Nicasio Valley Road. The officer said that when he arrived on the scene, the motorist who had hit the deer was directing traffic around it and that the deer had a broken leg and was bleeding from the mouth.
POINT REYES STATION A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 9:48 p.m. last Wednesday complained she had received 40 harassing phone calls that day from a woman in Novato. An officer gave her advice.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 1:52 a.m. last Wednesday complained to deputies about loud music in the town park. An officer contacted a couple and told them to move along. The woman at 3:19 a.m. called back to say she believed the youths that had been in the park were now knocking on her door.
FOREST KNOLLS A jailer at 10:25 p.m. last Wednesday asked deputies to warn a woman, whose husband has been charged with spousal abuse, that he was getting out of jail.
BOLINAS A man at 10:41 p.m. reported transients were having a verbal fight at Brighton Avenue and Wharf Road. Once at the scene, a deputy found three homeless men who said they had been arguing over a bottle opener. All agreed to leave the area.
DILLON BEACH A father and son at 4:23 p.m. Friday reported they had been trolling for salmon in Bodega Bay when they found hair-covered flesh, possibly part of a human scalp, floating in the water. Deputies determined the flesh was part of an animals ear, probably a deers.

July 11, 2002 Sheriff's Calls
WOODACRE An employer at 7:41 p.m. Monday reported an ex-worker for his business had told him he was "going to come to town tomorrow and show him what he thinks of the [employers] place," a deputy reported. The employer asked for advice in dealing with the ex-employee when he arrived to pick up his last paycheck.
MUIR BEACH Lawmen from up and down the coast responded at 7:43 p.m. Monday when a Pacific Way resident reported seven or eight juveniles aged six to 12 were breaking bottles in the sand and not cleaning up the glass. US Park Police, sheriffs deputies, and Park Service rangers headed toward the beach, but a ranger on the scene dealt with the juveniles, who were accompanied by two adults.
WOODACRE A woman at 9:59 p.m. Monday reported her boyfriend had slit his wrists because he was unhappy over their relationship. When a deputy went to the womans house, he arrested one of them on a misdemeanor warrant. The sheriffs log did not indicate which one.
WOODACRE A deputy at Carson Road and Redwood Drive at 10:52 p.m. Monday turned an allegedly drunk driver over to the Highway Patrol.
STINSON BEACH A Seadrift Road resident at 2:56 a.m. Monday notified deputies she had heard a "very loud crash," which sounded like someone opening her gate. She said it sounded as if noisy kids in a rental house nextdoor were to blame.
LAGUNITAS Fairfax Police at 9:39 p.m. Sunday reported a vehicle was stalled (because of alternator, as it turned out) on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Deputies arranged for the car to be towed.
SAN GERONIMO Firefighters and deputies responded at 10:52 p.m. Sunday when sagging PG&E wires became a hazard to traffic.
FOREST KNOLLS A Guadalupe Place resident at 1:47 a.m. Monday told deputies that juveniles were partying in the town park. A deputy found one couple in the park, told them that it was closed, and directed them to move along.
FOUR CORNERS A Skywalker Ranch employee notified deputies that a cow and calf had been reported in the roadway. The Highway Patrol said it was already aware of the animals.
OLEMA A deputy at 8:19 a.m. Sunday reported pursuing a red motorcycle south on Highway 1 from Point Reyes Station until the rider disappeared near Five Brooks. The officer said the biker was traveling at 90 to 100 mph.
SAN GERONIMO A deputy at 9:49 a.m. Sunday found a man with a silver-colored van apparently stealing recyclables from bins along North Lagunitas School Road.
OLEMA VALLEY A deputy at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday radioed that he was out of his patrolcar at Hagmaier Pond dealing with some cows loose on Highway 1.
WOODACRE A man at 10:03 a.m. Sunday reported a woman was screaming in the vicinity of Redwood Drive but said he could not understand what she was saying. Another neighbor told deputies she could hear the other woman saying, "Get out of her face! She doesnt like it!" The woman, who was alone, has a history of mental problems, the second neighbor said.
BOLINAS A man at 11:22 a.m. Saturday said he had parked his four-wheel-drive truck across Wharf Road from his home the previous night, and it had been stolen. The truck owner said he knew who the suspect is because the man was seen getting gasoline and driving the Dodge Ram Charger out of town.
SAN GERONIMO A deputy at 11 a.m. Sunday found a stolen VW Rabbit on San Geronimo Valley Drive. The silver convertible, which belongs to someone in the Bolinas-Stinson Beach area, was still driveable.
BOLINAS A man at 1:12 p.m. Sunday reported that his checkbook, along with his wallet containing bank cards, was stolen from his vehicle parked on Wharf Road. He estimated the loss at $150.
STINSON BEACH A Highway 1 business at 4:07 p.m. Sunday complained that after it cut off drinks to a man who was drunk, he refused to leave.
STINSON BEACH A man at 4:58 p.m. Sunday reported a thief had stolen a digital camera, as well as accessories in a leather bag, from his car parked on North Calle del Arroyo. He estimated the loss at $1,400.
STINSON BEACH A man on Calle del Mar voluntarily got into a red van with three strangers, who took his money and threw him out of the vehicle while it was moving, deputies were told at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The fall fractured the victims arm. The suspects were last seen northbound on Highway 101.
STINSON BEACH A household at 1 p.m. Saturday reported a thief had stolen a "bag" from their driveway.
BOLINAS A deputy on Brighton Avenue at 3:15 a.m. Friday arrested a man on charges of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia.
TOMALES A woman at 2:10 a.m. Saturday complained of loud music from a bar and of people setting off fireworks.
POINT REYES STATION A deputy responded to Mesa Road at 5:51 a.m. Saturday when an 86-year-old woman had trouble breathing. She was taken to a hospital by helicopter.
STINSON BEACH A caller at 3:41 p.m. Saturday asked that a four-year-old girl be medically checked after a door slammed on her finger.
POINT REYES STATION A helicopter, which landed at West Marin School, took a 78-year-old man to a hospital at 4:15 p.m. Saturday after he reported chest pains and tingling in his left arm.
FOREST KNOLLS A Juarez Avenue resident at 5:35 p.m. Saturday complained that his neighbor was staying in a home that the county has condemned. A deputy found no "crime."
STINSON BEACH A distraught Bolinas woman at 6:06 p.m. Saturday began calling deputies when her daughter was cited on charges of not having her car registered. Although deputies made arrangements to have the car towed from Calle del Mar, the mother called a third time and said there were papers in the car that showed its registration fees have been paid. While all this was underway, an officer reported that two brothers in the family were in a verbal fight.
FOREST KNOLLS A Guadalupe Place resident at 9:30 p.m. Saturday reported being able to hear four or five juveniles drinking in the town park. The resident later called back to say the youths had left the park but that fireworks could now be heard downtown. By the time a deputy arrived, the youths were gone.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 10:15 p.m. Saturday received a report of fireworks on the beach near Calle del Pradero. Officers were unable to find anyone setting off fireworks.
STINSON BEACH At 12:09 a.m. Friday, a Calle del Sierra resident reported that vehicles were parked all over the neighborhood and that there were at least 500 juveniles with a large campfire on the beach. He added that the juveniles were using his porch as a "bathroom" and were setting off firecrackers. Deputies who responded found at least one vehicle driving on the beach and reported "taking a couple of bottles" thrown by revelers.
POINT REYES STATION The Highway Patrol at 12:53 a.m. Friday reported a vehicle had run off Highway 1 and overturned near the Coastal Access parking lot north of town. No one was around the vehicle, deputies noted.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Resaca resident at 1:09 a.m. Friday reported there were 50 youths in front of her house and in the street. She said the youths had large bonfires, which they were fueling with pieces of plywood. The woman said she feared the youths were tearing siding off a house, but deputies found no damage to any home.
BOLINAS A Mesa Road resident at 1:38 a.m. Friday reported that a man and woman in a white car had possibly overdosed on drugs. Deputies, who responded along with medics, said it was possible that "someone slipped some drugs into [the womans] drink."
BOLINAS A man calling from Wharf Road told deputies at 3:16 a.m. Friday that an hour earlier he had found a man, who appeared to be dead, on the beach. He said it had taken him an hour to walk to a phone and that he could not give a good description of the bodys location. A deputy manning the West Marin Sheriffs Substation on Tuesday said he didnt know if any corpses were found last weekend in Bolinas.
INVERNESS PARK An off-duty firefighter at 4:42 a.m. Friday reported hearing a vehicle crash on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. A deputy could not find any mishap.
WOODACRE A Castle Rock Avenue resident at 6:43 a.m. Friday reported her Visa and ATM cards had been stolen in Las Vegas and that someone was now using them fraudulently. Deputies here took a report as a courtesy to Las Vegas Police.
STINSON BEACH A man on Highway 1 told deputies at 9:08 a.m. Friday that a second man had told him about being assaulted in town the previous night. The first man, however, added that friends have said the second man had assaulted two people himself. Deputies were told that law enforcement had responded at the time, but no one knew if the responding officers were from US Park Police or the Sheriffs Office.
FALLON A Gericke Road resident at 9:35 a.m. Friday complained of receiving harassing phone calls from another woman since February.
DILLON BEACH A man on Marine View Drive at 10:19 a.m. Friday reported losing his wallet the previous night.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies and firefighters responded at 12:39 p.m. Friday when an 80-year-old man became disoriented and dizzy.
WOODACRE A 78-year-old resident of Redwood Drive at 6:19 p.m. Friday reported she was suffering heart pains.
SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK Deputies received word at 8:21 p.m. Friday that a tree had fallen on a child at the west end of the park. The child was pulled out from under the tree and transported by helicopter to a hospital.
LAGUNITAS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 12:16 a.m. last Thursday notified deputies she and her 44-year-old boyfriend were quarreling and that he had "chased" her out of the house. She asked that a deputy stand by while she got her purse out of the house before spending the night elsewhere.
INVERNESS PARK Neighbors at 12:17 a.m. last Thursday asked deputies for help after a residential water main broke on an adjoining property, whose owners were away. Firefighters shut of the main valve on the broken line.
BOLINAS Deputies at 2:20 a.m. last Thursday received a complaint from Brighton Avenue that people on the beach were setting off fireworks.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies and medics responded when a 42-year-old Highway 1 resident cut the tips of her fingers in a juicer. The tips remained attached, and medics bandaged the hand. The woman said she would see a doctor.
WOODACRE A resident at 11:08 a.m. last Thursday complained that youths on all-terrain vehicles and on motorcycles that are not "street legal" had been driving around town all morning. A deputy cited one boy, whom he had admonished earlier that day, on charges of speeding and driving without a license.
TOMALES Firefighters at 12:05 p.m. last Thursday reported that grass and a small structure were burning along Whitaker Bluff Road.
BOLINAS A resident at 4 p.m. last Thursday complained that people lighting fireworks outside the Episcopal church were causing several car alarms to go off. A deputy checked the identity of one person and moved him along. The officer could not find anyone else at the scene.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Sierra resident at 5:24 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies that people were setting up a campsite underneath her deck and that she wanted them moved along. A deputy determined the people were not campers but merely friends getting ready to see fireworks.
BOLINAS The Highway Patrol at 5:24 p.m. last Thursday reported a dog had bitten a child. It was the second time that day the dog had bitten someone, and the animal was still in the area, the CHP said.
BOLINAS A woman at 8:35 p.m. last Thursday complained that a large group with a live band were partying in the street at Terrace and Park avenues. A deputy advised the band to turn its volume down.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 8:29, 8:40, and 8:54 p.m. last Thursday received complaints of fireworks on the beach but found no one setting them off.
BOLINAS A deputy at 8:54 p.m. last Thursday dropped off a scooter at a childs house after he found the child riding the scooter without a helmet.
BOLINAS A man at 9:16 p.m. last Thursday complained that a large group of youths were drinking on the beach. A deputy found 200 to 300 adults.
STINSON BEACH Between 9:17 and 11:05 p.m. last Thursday, deputies made several groups extinguish fires on the beach.
INVERNESS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 9:20 p.m. last Thursday complained about fireworks being set off along the water. A deputy found a family was setting off the fireworks and advised them fireworks are prohibited in Marin County. The family then said it would go to neighboring Sonoma County, where fireworks are legal.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 10:52 p.m. last Thursday received a report of a vehicle in a ditch at Highway 1 and Calle del Arroyo. It was towed from the ditch undamaged.
DILLON BEACH A woman at 10:54 p.m. last Thursday complained about "fireworks everywhere" but acknowledged they were "very spectacular."
MILLERTON POINT A man at 11:19 p.m. last Thursday notified firefighters he had accidentally started a fire in the state park and had put it out with dirt and water. However, he added, he wasnt certain the fire was completely out.
TOMALES A man at 7:13 a.m. last Wednesday reported an office at a construction site had been ransacked during the night. Missing, he said, were a Skillsaw, a fax machine, and a computer (together worth $1,200). At 9:39 a.m. the same day, the man called back to say a second office at the site had also been burglarized.
DILLON BEACH A woman at 6:45 p.m. last Wednesday reported a 15-year-old boy had fallen and cut his shin on glass.
WOODACRE A resident at 8:30 p.m. last Wednesday complained that a neighbor had been screaming for the past 10 minutes. He said she has a history of mental problems.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. BOLINAS A Dogwood Road resident at 11:15 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that a cell phone had been stolen from his pickup truck.
DILLON BEACH A man on Marine View Drive at 7:58 a.m. Sunday reported another man, 21, was missing after being with a group of friends. The second man showed up a short time later.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 10:41 a.m. Sunday complained to deputies that a Volkswagen Beetle had almost hit her at her Highway 1 residence. She said the VW, which was occupied by two men in their 20s wearing helmets, were last seen heading back down her driveway.
WOODACRE An anonymous caller at 11:10 a.m. Sunday complained about construction noise at the Improvement Club and requested that volunteers not work on Sundays. A deputy determined that the club had obtained a county Planning Division permit to work from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
CHILENO VALLEY Deputies at 12:25 p.m. Sunday received a report that two motorcyclists had spilled at Chileno Valley and Tomales-Petaluma roads. Both riders were lying on the ground but talking, deputies were told.
PLATFORM BRIDGE A car carrying a Novato family of four and a car carrying a San Rafael woman and a Vallejo man collided head-on near the gravel company at 2:12 p.m. Sunday. The two adults in the Novato car were airlifted to hospitals in Napa and Santa Rosa, and their daughter was taken by ambulance to Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda. A son was unhurt. The Vallejo man and the San Rafael woman were transported by ambulance to Marin General Hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
DILLON BEACH A woman on Marine View Drive at 7:38 p.m. Sunday told deputies that a thief had stolen firewood from her campsite the previous night. Although she was away at the time, a neighboring camper reported seeing someone rummaging threw her campsite and then driving off in a blue and white Ford Explorer.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies received a report that two vehicles collided head-on at Highway 1 and Tomasini Canyon Road at 8:10 p.m. Sunday. A man and woman, both suffering from head injuries, were treated by county paramedics and then airlifted to hospitals. The collision caused both vehicles to skid off the west side of the road.
MARSHALL A Highway 1 resident at 8:38 p.m. Sunday reported someone had trespassed on her water easement and cut the waterline to her residence. She said there had been yellow bulldozers in the area earlier.
NICASIO A man at 1:08 a.m. Monday reported a 20-foot-by-20-foot grassfire near a portable toilet along Nicasio Valley Road. County firefighters put out the small blaze.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 10:26 p.m. Saturday received a report from Highway 1 of "some sort of assault" with no location given. A medic was on the scene, but the victim walked away with "a blonde," deputies were told.
LAGUNITAS A Charles Lane woman at 10:44 p.m. Saturday gave deputies some bullets and shotgun shells and asked officers to destroy them.
STINSON BEACH A Seadrift Road man at 10:52 p.m. Saturday complained about a bonfire on the beach. Someones "renters agreed to put out the fire and keep the noise down," a deputy later reported.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 11:52 p.m. Saturday complained about a loud party with fireworks on the beach. A deputy dispersed the partygoers.
DOGTOWN Deputies at 12:45 a.m. Sunday found a man lying on the ground beside his pickup truck. He was arrested on charges of public drunkenness, and his truck was towed away.
DILLON BEACH A Highway Patrolman at 2:58 a.m. Sunday found a vehicle, which had been involved in a misdemeanor hit-and-run accident, parked on Ocean View Drive. He asked that a deputy back him up while he dealt with the driver.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 12:48 p.m. Saturday reported that three teenagers were on the roof of a Manaña Way house under construction. She said there had been recent vandalism at the property and that other juveniles were currently inside the house still damaging it.
STINSON BEACH Medics responded Saturday afternoon to a 12-year-old boy with a rash all over his body. The rash was described as looking like welts. Medics noted the boy had no known allergies.
BOLINAS A man at 3:20 a.m. Saturday reported numerous vehicles parked near the Episcopal church in no-parking zones. A deputy determined that the vehicles were legally parked.
WOODACRE A woman called deputies at 4:32 p.m. to say that her son had just left the county crisis unit, had taken a lot of psychiatric medication, and now had pushed her out the door. She warned officers that the youth "will be combative."
LAGUNITAS An anonymous caller complained about a party in the vicinity of Spring and Lagunitas roads, warning that so many vehicles were parked there that emergency vehicles would not be able to get through. A deputy determined there were "numerous vehicles but plenty of room for fire apparatus."
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 10:05 p.m. Friday complained that a small party of youths had a fire on the beach. A deputy advised the youth of the county ordinance against fires during summer weekends. The youths put out the fire and agreed to keep the noise down.
SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK A camp hostess called deputies from a ranger station at 2:18 a.m. Saturday to complain that someone was "laying on the horn" in the campground area and that she could hear a woman telling a man to leave. She subsequently reported the "horn stopped blaring" and that she didnt "hear any yelling now either."
MILLERTON POINT The Highway Patrol at 2:51 a.m. Saturday reported a woman was stranded near a call box along Highway 1 after being dropped off at a car, which was parked there, at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
BOLINAS A man at 2:43 p.m. Friday complained that two pickup trucks filled with junk had been parked at Brighton and Park avenues for two months. A deputy could not find them.
POINT REYES STATION A merchant at 4:11 p.m. Friday reported that a man with a history of violence might be headed her way. A deputy said he would stay in the area and wait for her call should he show up.
TOMALES Deputies received a report at 7:24 p.m. last Thursday that electric lines were sagging across the Tomales-Petaluma Road.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 10:20 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies he was visiting in a Rosario Road house when another guest challenged him to fight. An officer, who said the man "sounds very intoxicated," reported he "cannot [or] will not answer any questions."
FOREST KNOLLS An anonymous caller at 3:26 p.m. last Thursday complained that a man was drinking alcohol in the town park. A deputy found no one committing any "crimes" and noted there were "other males playing basketball in the park."
POINT REYES STATION Firefighters at 4:22 p.m. last Thursday reported there was a disoriented woman in a vehicle parked along Highway 1. A deputy determined the woman was not insane but merely "disillusioned."
NATIONAL SEASHORE Two possible burglars in their 20s were found in the kitchen of the fish dock at Chimney Rock.
FOREST KNOLLS A Rosario Road man at 9:22 a.m. last Wednesday reported that nighttime vandals had ripped up no-parking signs at his carport.
TOMALES An anonymous caller at 10:31 a.m. last Wednesday said he had heard a gunshot once the previous night and a man yell, "Just go ahead and shoot me." The caller said the dispute was between a father and son, but the son told deputies he was asleep at the time and that his father was out of town.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies received an anonymous report at 12:28 p.m. last Wednesday that juveniles were shooting BBs at a Cypress Road residence. A deputy could not find the culprits.
FALLON A woman at 1:11 p.m. last Wednesday notified deputies that a small, white car was stopped along the Fallon-Two Rock Road. She said the cars trunk was open and that a man was standing beside it. The woman added that stolen cars are often dumped in the vicinity. A deputy found a note on the car and concluded it had broken down.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 3:33 p.m. last Wednesday reported a cow was "roaming" in the area of Cypress Road and Highway 1. A deputy could not find it.
LAGUNITAS A man on June 25 reported that a neighbor had told him that the previous day a delivery van had run off Alta Avenue and crashed through his fence, breaking boards and damaging concrete. He estimated the damage at $4,000.
BOLINAS A woman at 5:53 p.m. June 25 reported a man was lying on the ground at the intersection of Brighton Avenue and Olema-Bolinas Road. She said he might have been hit by a car. Firefighters handled the incident.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sanchez Road resident at 5:57 p.m. June 23 reported that someone was using information about the resident in trying to get credit in Georgia.
