May 31, 2001 Sheriff's Calls

OLEMA VALLEY – A car overturned on Highway 1 just south of Hagmaier Pond at 8:15 a.m. Monday. The solo occupant was not injured.

NATIONAL SEASHORE – Two cars that were part of an informal procession circling the lighthouse parking lot at 2 p.m. Sunday, everyone looking for a space. When a space opened up, a woman from one car stood in it to hold it for her male companion. However, a car at the head of the procession began inching its way into the space. Finally, the woman standing in the space fell onto the lead car’s hood. She told deputies she had been hit in the thigh. The lead car’s driver, however, said she had deliberately fallen onto his hood. Witnesses didn’t know who was at fault, said a deputy, but they tended to side with the driver of the lead car. When the woman complained of pain, medics checked her thigh.

POINT REYES STATION – Juveniles last week found a wallet containing cash, credit cards, and a driver’s license. They turned it over to firefighters, who gave it to deputies. Officers returned the wallet to the owner.

MUIR BEACH – A woman at 1:45 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that while she was attending a "rave" party near Slide Ranch, someone broke into her car and stole her purse. At 10:30 a.m., a man reported a burglar had smashed the window of his car, which had been parked near the first car, and had stolen $690 worth of stereo equipment.

CHILENO VALLEY – During an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at 1 p.m. Sunday, the girlfriend received "traumatic injuries," deputies reported.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 10 p.m. Saturday called deputies from Calle del Sierra to report he had found property that a burglar had taken from his car.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 1:30 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that a second man had left a threat and harassing statements on the first man’s answering machine.

SAN GERONIMO – A man at 8 p.m. last Thursday complained he was receiving harassing phone calls from an old client over a job finished two years ago. Deputies told him his complaint involved civil, not criminal, law.

STINSON BEACH – A woman at 9:15 p.m. last Thursday complained about a man who had written a letter to the editor about her. A deputy said her complaint involved civil, not criminal, law.

NICASIO – A deputy at 11:15 p.m. found two people along Nicasio Valley Road, and they said a fisherman was lost on the reservoir. None of the three had flashlights, and a deputy reported the missing fisherman needed access to the shore.

STINSON BEACH – A resident at 2 a.m. Friday notified deputies two people in a vehicle were shining lights into houses on Seadrift Road. She said she saw the pair get out of their car and could see enough of one man to know he was not from Seadrift Security.

LAGUNITAS – Deputies at 3:40 p.m. last Thursday received a Highway Patrol report of a dead deer on the pavement at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Lagunitas Road. Humane Society staff asked that a deputy join them at the scene to help lift the deer into a truck. The request was later canceled, however, when no one could find the deer.

BOLINAS – A woman at 8 p.m. last Wednesday reported her son was out of control, breaking things in their yard. She then hung up on the deputy and went outside to try to stop the damage. She later notified deputies her son had left.

HICKS VALLEY – A woman at 9:45 p.m. reported a vehicle had been parked at the gate across her driveway. When she checked on the vehicle, it left at a high rate of speed on Hick’s Valley Road. She told deputies that when she tried to follow the vehicle to get its license number, it slammed on its brakes.

CHILENO VALLEY – A deputy at 8:50 a.m. found a cow on a roadway and returned it to its pasture.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 12:15 a.m. last Wednesday complained about noisy people sitting on a lawn beside Castro Street. When a deputy arrived, they agreed to quiet down.

BOLINAS – A man last week complained of receiving harassing calls that were possibly coming from a man in Pleasanton named "Junior." He said his wife had received two calls from unknown phone numbers, and when she called them back, she got into a shouting match.

TOMALES – A resident of the Tomales-Petaluma Road last week told deputies she is allowing two people to stay in a house on her property in exchange for work. However, she said, there were now numerous additional people staying with them and that she wanted the extra people evicted. A deputy gave her advice.

POINT REYES STATION – Deputies last week received a report of two motorcyclists driving recklessly on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. One was wearing a red outfit, and the other was wearing a blue outfit, officers were told. Deputies put out a be-on-the-lookout bulletin for the pair, but they were not found.

POINT REYES STATION – Sheriff’s Lt. John Brunslik, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Brunslik said the Sheriff’s Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. May 24, 2001 Sheriff's Calls

 

INVERNESS – A Via del Vista resident at 12:20 last Thursday complained that he had paid a contractor to work on his chimney and that the contractor had taken some metal from his fireplace and would not return it nor finish the job.

BOLINAS – A deputy at 8 p.m. Monday took a man wanted by Palo Alto police into custody. Deputies reported a felony warrant had been issued for the man after he failed to appear for a court case involving peyote and possessing marijuana while driving.

POINT REYES STATION – A burglar took cash from a restaurant’s safe.

BOLINAS – A woman at 9:10 a.m. last Wednesday notified deputies a man who lives in town had punched her in the face. The man was gone when an officer arrived, but she asked how to get a court to issue a restraining order against the man. At 10:15 p.m., the man’s estranged wife told deputies that although a court has ordered him to stay away from her, he goes to her house and breaks things when she is away. She requested extra patrols in the area.

MUIR BEACH – National Park Police at 11:50 a.m. tried to cite a man for having his dog without a leash on the beach. When the man ran away, the ranger flagged down a deputy and asked for help. However, in the commotion, the man’s wife developed breathing problems. The deputy called for medics and assisted her rather than joining the chase for the man.

SAN GERONIMO – A San Geronimo Valley Drive resident asked deputies for extra patrols around town because "due to summer weather, people are just speeding through the area."

FOREST KNOLLS – A woman asked how to get a court to issue a restraining order.

LAGUNITAS – A deputy at 10:45 p.m. stopped a Ford pickup truck that had just come down Moon Hill and arrested the driver on drunk-driving charges.

WOODACRE – A deputy at 3:15 p.m. Monday went to a San Geronimo Valley Drive home to take photos for evidence after a woman reported being the victim of battery.

SAMUEL TAYLOR PARK – A man complained that a camper would not let him near a water faucet and had threatened him. However, he did not describe the threat and hung up. Deputies referred the matter to state park rangers.

BOLINAS – A man at 9:10 p.m. Friday complained of a "bunch of cars and drunks on the beach." He said the people had an aggressive dog with them, and the dog had "come at" the man’s son and other family members. Deputies notified the people there was a complaint against them.

STINSON BEACH – A vehicle ran off Highway 1 at 10 p.m. Friday, and one person was injured, possibly suffering a dislocated shoulder. The Highway Patrol and medics responded.

BOLINAS – A man at 11:15 p.m. Friday notified deputies that although he has court documents giving him full custody of his five-year-old son, his girlfriend had taken the boy to New York. He said he wasn’t sure what to do, and a deputy gave him advice.

NATIONAL SEASHORE – The Highway Patrol at 11:35 p.m. Friday received a report that a vehicle had overturned at Bear Valley and Limantour roads. Two women standing around the vehicle said they did not know if anyone was inside it.

TOMALES – A woman at 11:55 p.m. Friday reported her 16-year-old son had not returned home after going on a school field-trip although he was supposed to return by 8:30 p.m. She said he is taking medication.

POINT REYES STATION – An anonymous caller at 1:10 a.m. Saturday complained about loud music from a bar on Highway 1 and asked that the bar close its doors. A deputy later reported the disturbance was "abated upon [his] arrival" and that "the bar [was] closing down."

LAGUNITAS – A resident in the area of Lagunitas Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 3:40 a.m. Sunday complained about loud music from a stereo or live band. Initially a deputy could not find the source of the disturbance but finally traced it to a house several blocks away at Spring Road and Mountain View Avenue. The officer contacted two males in the house and had them turn the music down.

OLEMA – A man at 10:18 p.m. last Thursday received a major injury when he fell down and hit his head on the pavement at Highway 1 and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Medics responded, and a rescue helicopter was summoned.

LAGUNITAS – A man at 11:50 p.m. last Thursday walked into the sheriff’s substation in Point Reyes Station to report a suspicious incident. He said he had called home to check for messages on his answering machine, and someone answered the phone. He said no one should be in his house. A deputy went to the home but found nothing amiss.

POINT REYES STATION – Deputies at 10:55 p.m. last Thursday received a report of a vehicle accident on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road but could not find the mishap.

DOGTOWN – A vehicle ran off Highway 1 at 9 p.m. last Wednesday. Although there was no report of the male driver being injured, the vehicle received "major front-end damage," deputies reported. A deputy assisted the Highway Patrol with traffic control.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD – Firefighters at 10 p.m. last Wednesday reported there was a man with unknown medical problems lying on the ground near a Ford pickup truck.

FOREST KNOLLS – After a car overturned on Castro Street at 1:15 p.m. last Thursday, the Highway Patrol said it would check if the driver was drunk.

TOMALES – A woman at 2:45 a.m. last Thursday told deputies her son, who was on drugs, was tearing their house apart. She said she was concerned for her safety, adding that her "son is totally out of control."

NICASIO – A Old Rancheria Road resident at 7:15 p.m. told deputies she had found some boxes of furniture on her property. Deputies noted the furniture may have left there by a contractor working on her house.

BOLINAS – A Horseshoe Hill Road resident at 10:15 a.m. complained that another woman had moved three horses onto her property without permission. She asked a deputy what to do, and he gave her advice.

BOLINAS – A deputy at 10:20 a.m. Friday arrested a woman on public drunkenness charges at the community center. He reported she was a danger to herself and others.

OLEMA – A resident reported losing his wallet while traveling between Marshall and Point Reyes Station.

OLEMA – A restaurant employee at 10:45 a.m. Saturday told deputies a vandal had put a 15-inch scratch in the hood of her car.

BOLINAS – A woman at 10:30 a.m. last Thursday reported a thief had stolen a bicycle she left in bushes at the end of Brighton Avenue.

POINT REYES STATION – A woman took two packages of meat from a market without paying for them. She later told a deputy she had just stepped outside for a moment to phone her boyfriend and had intended to go back into the market and pay for the meat.

NICASIO – An anonymous woman at 10:30 p.m. Monday called deputies to report a verbal disturbance in a home on Nicasio Valley Road. She wouldn’t name the other person in the dispute, then said it had been resolved, and added she did not wish law enforcement to respond.

BOLINAS – A Wharf Road woman at 11:20 p.m. Monday complained about loud music coming from a parked vehicle. When a deputy called her back, she said the noise seemed to have stopped.

BOLINAS – A woman at 9:30 a.m. Monday asked that deputies call her about a young man raping women in the area. A deputy later gave advice to the woman, who was not a victim herself.

NICASIO – A resident at 3 p.m. reported a large, suspicious semi truck with a blue cab, which had been parked at the town square since 10:15 a.m. with its engine idling. The truck was gone when a deputy arrived.

OLEMA VALLEY – Deputies at 8 p.m. Sunday received a report of people camping illegally on a ranch. A deputy told the campers to move on and suggested they try Olema Ranch Campground.

MARSHALL – A woman at 8 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that four people appeared to be casing a house on Highway 1 not far from Clark Road. She told officers she had asked the four to leave and they would not.

BOLINAS – A woman at 10:40 p.m. Sunday reported her ex-husband had violated a court-issued restraining order that he stay 100 yards away from her. She said he had come closer to her at home and in church. A deputy gave her advice.

OLEMA VALLEY – A man at 3:45 p.m. Sunday reported there was an injured horse along Highway 1 and no rider around. He said several people were with the horse, which was subsequently taken to a ranch.

WOODACRE – Deputies received word that a deer had been hit by a car at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and San Geronimo Valley Drive. The caller at first reported the deer was still alive but later reported it had died. The Highway Patrol could not find it.

POINT REYES STATION – A person walked into a bar at 7:45 p.m. Friday and reported there had been a traffic accident on Highway 1 between Marshall and Point Reyes Station. The person said a vehicle was on a guardrail and that nobody was around it. Deputies assisted the Highway Patrol in dealing with the mishap.

MARSHALL – Firefighters at 11:15 p.m. Friday notified deputies there was a campfire beside Highway 1. A deputy contacted the people with the fire, and they put it out.

STINSON BEACH – A woman at 12:05 a.m. Saturday said her 16-year-old son was spending the night on the beach and that she wanted him to come home. A deputy gave her advice.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 8:05 p.m. last Thursday received an anonymous report of a dead whale with sharks around it offshore of the end of Brighton Avenue. The caller said surfers were probably unaware of the sharks.

WOODACRE – The Improvement Club at 9:05 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies that people have been getting into the club pool after it closes at 10 p.m. A deputy gave advice. At 10:35 p.m., a woman reported there were at least six people trespassing at the club pool. A deputy could not find them.

INVERNESS PARK – A woman at 7:45 p.m. last Wednesday reported that three vehicles parked on a curve at Portola and Vallejo avenues were blocking the roadway so that emergency vehicles would not be able to get past them. A deputy checked and later reported no vehicles were blocking the roadway and that there is "plenty of room" for other vehicles to pass by.

INVERNESS – Deputies received a report of a large group of people with a large fire on Chicken Ranch Beach at 10:30 p.m. A deputy dispersed them.

OLEMA – The Highway Patrol at 11:15 p.m. last Wednesday notified deputies of an overturned vehicle along Highway 1 and said one female was bleeding. CHP officers and deputies responded.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 2:30 a.m. last Thursday called deputies on a bad phone line and said something about a "drunk." Then the phone went dead. The man subsequently called back to say a 34-year-old female friend from Berkeley was very drunk and acting irrationally. He said he wanted her to leave.

NICASIO – Deputies at 8:45 p.m. were notified that a drunk driver in a pickup truck was heading toward Point Reyes Station. Officers could not find the truck.

CHILENO VALLEY – A man at 8 a.m. complained about a second man in his 50s who regularly walks in a traffic lane of Chileno Valley Road, usually about 7 a.m. The first man said the second man, who wears a jogging suit, won’t move off the roadway when honked at.

LAGUNITAS – A man at 11:30 a.m. complained that a tree service truck was parked on his property and had damaged his retaining wall. He said he had parked his vehicle so as to block the tree company’s truck from leaving.

TOMALES – A high school coach at 9 a.m. last Thursday notified deputies a student was in possession of marijuana. A deputies cited the boy.

TOMALES – An emotionally disturbed man at 11 a.m. last Thursday reentered a store after being told to leave. A deputy took him to the crisis unit at Marin General Hospital.

INVERNESS PARK – A thief stole a rug from in front of a store, the merchant told deputies at 6 p.m. Friday.

INVERNESS PARK – A deputy on Drake’s View Drive at 12:15 p.m. Sunday arrested a man wanted on a warrant.

OLEMA – A man at 2:30 p.m. last Thursday found two credit cards in a parking lot.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 4 a.m. Tuesday told deputies he believed a 40-year-old man was en route to his home to cause trouble. The first man reported a woman had shown up at his house and said she believed the second man was after her. A deputy gave the first man advice.

WOODACRE – A Sylvan Way resident at 11:50 a.m. Monday complained to deputies about agreeing to buy a $3,200 a camcorder advertised on Ebay and sending money to the seller. However, the resident said, no camcorder was forthcoming, and the seller didn’t return messages. A deputy gave the resident advice.

LAGUNITAS – A man at 12:35 p.m. called deputies from Sir Francis Drake Boulevard to report that a motorist in his 50s and driving a small, silver Toyota has been harassing the man’s daughter as she drives between Samuel P. Taylor State Park and the College of Marin.

LAGUNITAS – Deputies at 5 p.m. reported that a man living at the top of Mountain King Road near the Mount Barnabe fire lookout had gotten into a dispute with firefighters.

BOLINAS – Coast Guard officers at 9:10 p.m. notified deputies that a tourist was missing in the Mesa Road area.

LAGUNITAS – A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 11:15 p.m. Sunday complained about a party that had been going on for 17 hours. He told deputies he would like the party shut down. A deputy contacted the host, who agreed to turn the music down.

PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD – A passerby at 7 p.m. Friday walked into the Hicks Valley firehouse and reported a large deer was injured and on the roadway, creating a traffic hazard. A deputy shot the deer.

INVERNESS – Medics responded at 7 p.m. Friday when two people on Aberdeen Way received facial and body burns after they used lighter fluid on a barbecue.

TOMALES – A father at 7:20 p.m. Friday complained about threats from his 33-year-old son, who has drug problems.

BOLINAS – A man at 9:45 p.m. Friday notified police that a woman’s estranged husband’s vehicle had almost rear-ended his vehicle and that the estranged husband was being "loud." He said the wife has a court-issued restraining order against her husband but that the husband causes trouble whenever the man visits her.

DILLON BEACH – A woman on Beach Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Friday reported 30 juveniles were having a beer party. A deputy found 10 juveniles, who were leaving the area.

INVERNESS PARK – Deputies at 11:25 p.m. Friday received two anonymous complaints about a loud party of adults. A deputy got the partygoers to quiet down.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Avenue resident Saturday complained that six juveniles, who may have been drinking and throwing bottles, were loitering and riding skateboards at 12:15 a.m. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.

FIVE BROOKS – A man at 6:15 p.m. last Thursday complained that a woman had hit him with a board. He said that when she left on foot she might have been totally naked but could be wearing a gray sweater "with no bottoms."

POINT REYES STATION – Dance Palace staff at 6:25 p.m. last Thursday reported that during the past three weeks a burglar had made "numerous" attempts to get into the building by removing window screens.

INVERNESS PARK – A man at 9:40 p.m. last Thursday complained about a loud party on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. A deputy reported the music had been turned down before he arrived.

WOODACRE – A woman at 7:40 p.m. found a burning candle on top of a fire hydrant. She said she extinguished the fire but left the candle there, adding that it all seemed "suspicious."

OLEMA – A man at 11 p.m. complained about loud people and loud music at the intersection Highway 1 and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. He said this is a continuing problem. The disturbance was abated before a deputy arrived, but those responsible agreed to keep their music down.

BOLINAS – A woman on Wharf Road complained at 12:10 a.m. last Thursday about a pickup truck with a camper shell playing loud music. The truck left before a deputy arrived.

LAGUNITAS – A woman reported at 7:40 p.m. reported a burglar had stolen $1,750 worth of sound and video systems from her house.

OLEMA – A deer was injured in traffic on Highway 1 at 9 p.m. A deputy shot it to put the animal out of its misery.

SAN GERONIMO – A deputy at 11:45 p.m. stopped a motorist for a traffic violation at Nicasio Valley Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. He then turned the motorist over to the Highway Patrol, who arrested the driver on charges of drunk driving.

May 3, 2001 Sheriff's Calls

BOLINAS – A woman on Mesa Road at 6:20 p.m. Sunday accused her ex-boyfriend of harassing her and her new boyfriend.

BOLINAS – A 37-year-old mentally disturbed woman walked away from a doctor’s appointment in San Francisco but was found at her family’s weekend home at 8:30 p.m. Monday. She was taken to the crisis unit of Marin General Hospital.

POINT REYES STATION – A woman at 12:50 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that her husband had pushed her during an argument and that she had hit him back. She said she then left their residence and was staying with a friend. Although she is four months pregnant, she refused medical attention.

BOLINAS – A man, who on April 19 had been accused of challenging another man to fight as part of a child-custody dispute, told deputies at 3 p.m. Sunday he had never challenged the second man to a fight nor had he threatened him. Also on Sunday, a woman showed up at the Point Reyes Station sheriff’s substation with an unserved, court-issued restraining order against the second man.

BOLINAS – A woman asked deputies to document a disturbance, which she blamed on her estranged husband. She said that he had called to say goodnight to their daughter, but they weren’t home. He screamed at her on her answering machine and then showed up in front of their house. She said she was afraid of him.

DILLON BEACH – Deputies helped Tomales firefighters when a man on Oceana Drive had a possible heart attack at 9:25 p.m. and had to be transported to a hospital by helicopter.

DILLON BEACH – A woman at 7:30 a.m. reported a lost cellular phone.

WOODACRE – A Fire Road resident notified deputies at 9:40 p.m. Monday that at 8 p.m. a vehicle drove to an abandoned house on Pine Avenue and that she could now hear the sound of vehicles at the end of her own driveway. All was quiet when an officer arrived.

MUIR BEACH – A woman at 10 a.m. called deputies from Sunset Way to complain that two naked men were masturbating on the beach. She said she wanted to take a group of children to the beach to show them tidepools, adding that she had complained about nudists on the beach before.

WOODACRE – A man at 10 a.m. Monday complained about a dog barking at a house on Ridge Road. When a deputy went to the house, the residents said they have no dog nor had they heard any dog barking.

INVERNESS – A kayak company at 10 a.m. Monday reported a $560 kayak had been stolen from the business.

MARSHALL – A Highway 1 resident at 3:10 p.m. Monday notified deputies that a 40-year-old woman, who had been hired to take care of the resident’s mother, hadn’t shown up for three days. The woman’s husband later called to say his wife had had car troubles.

BOLINAS – A man on Wharf Road at 4 p.m. Monday complained that two drunk men had thrown a rock at a dog and almost hit the man’s four-year-old son. A deputy could not find the pair.

TOMALES – Deputies at 4:25 p.m. Monday received a complaint that an emotionally disturbed man, 46, was living in a vehicle on the property of a relative, who was away and didn’t know the man was there. The man was ranting and raving, deputies were told.

INVERNESS – A man at 9:30 a.m. Saturday complained of people in a motorhome camped overnight at Chicken Ranch Beach. A deputy contacted the people, and they said they would leave within five minutes.

FOREST KNOLLS – A Montezuma Avenue resident at 2:10 p.m. Sunday complained of receiving hangup calls for the last few weeks.

LAGUNITAS – A man at 4:10 p.m. last Wednesday complained of adolescents riding up and down La Vuelata Avenue on dirt bikes and an all-terrain vehicle. One boy, about 12, was riding a dirt bike and not wearing a helmet, the man said.

OLEMA – A woman at 5 p.m. Sunday reported a man was refusing to pay for use of a campsite. She said it appeared that two men, who were possibly "high" on drugs, were involved. The woman added that the campground manager was trying to talk with them but was "not getting anywhere."

LAGUNITAS –A man at 5:30 p.m. Sunday asked that a deputy meet with him so he could return a bicycle to his irate sister-in-law, who lives on adjoining property along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. A deputy determined the bicycle could not be returned and gave the man advice.

SAN GERONIMO – A woman at 6 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that a black sports-utility vehicle had run off the road, hit an embankment in front of her house, and overturned. No one was injured, she said.

DILLON BEACH – A woman at 6 p.m. Sunday complained of being sexually harassed on Cypress Avenue by a man in his 30s wearing a baseball cap. The woman said the two had a conversation and when she said she was a massage therapist, he put his arm around her "and got close." She told him to get away, and he walked off toward the campground, she said.

BOLINAS – A deputy helped firefighters at 7 p.m. Saturday when someone with a head injury had to be transported by helicopter to a hospital. During the rescue, deputies closed the Bolinas-Fairfax Road.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 10:25 p.m. Sunday complained about a loud party of 20 to 30 juveniles. A deputy contacted the juveniles, and they agreed to turn their music off for the night.

STINSON BEACH – A man at 12:45 a.m. Sunday reported hearing two or three juveniles trying to break into the lifeguard tower. He said it sounded as if they had already gained entry upstairs and that he had heard a sound like breaking glass.

DILLON BEACH – A woman on Marine View Drive at 10:25 p.m. told deputies about 50 juveniles had arrived in 10 cars and a U-Haul truck and were now unloading beer. The woman said she suspected the group was about to have a party.

BOLINAS – A man at 2:25 a.m. Saturday notified deputies that when a lodging manager went to show a room, the manager found a 20- to 22-year-old man had broken in and was sleeping in the room. The intruder was briefly detained at a bar and then left.

MARSHALL – A man at 10:25 p.m. last Thursday reported that a seal on a beach at Marconi Cove appeared to be sick or injured. Deputies notified the Marine Mammal Center.

INVERNESS PARK – A resident at 2:30 a.m. Friday complained that a drunk was creating a disturbance on Portola Avenue. However, the drunk left before a deputy arrived.

LAGUNITAS – A man at 8 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies he planned to have a party on Chaparro Avenue and wanted advice. A deputy gave him advice.

STINSON BEACH – A deputy at 10:45 p.m. last Wednesday reported a large campfire at the south end of the federal beach. US Park Police were notified.

INVERNESS PARK – A woman at 11:25 p.m. last Wednesday notified officers she had been receiving annoying phone calls from a man and had told him to stop calling. She said the calls had stopped for awhile but that the man had called her from Iowa that evening.

POINT REYES STATION – Sheriff’s Lt. John Brunslik, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Brunslik said the Sheriff’s Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release.
