POINT REYES STATION A woman at 11 a.m. last Thursday reported losing a hand-held computer in a bar.
STINSON BEACH A Seadrift Road resident at 12:30 p.m. Friday notified deputies that a vandal had slashed two of her vehicles tires.
TOMALES High school staff at 7 a.m. Sunday reported a vandal had driven onto the football field and damaged it by spinning donuts.
DILLON BEACH A man who owns a vacation home on Tahiti Way at 6:30 p.m. Sunday reported finding a man and woman in his house. The mans son ordered them to leave, and they did in a Jeep, the license plate number of which was traced to a couple in Carmichael, Sacramento County. The son told deputies he could smell marijuana in the house, adding that the couple appeared to have been engaged in sexual activity just before he arrived. A deputy phoned the registered owners of the Jeep, but they denied being the couple in the house.
STINSON BEACH Deputies received reports at 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 9:41 a.m. that a vandal had smashed the drivers door window of one car and the windshield of another while they were parked on Seadrift Road.
SAN GERONIMO A Humane Society officer at 7:47 a.m. Monday asked a deputy to meet her on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard where she had a fox in a box. She said the fox appeared to be either rabid or suffering from distemper. As it happened, she told deputies, the fox was temporarily located where many children pass by on their way to school, and she wanted some help keeping kids away from it.
INVERNESS Deputies and medics responded at 9 a.m. Monday when a 58-year-old man suffered chest pain, difficulty in breathing, and tingling hands. Officers were told the man has high blood pressure and a high cholesterol count.
POINT REYES STATION School staff notified deputies at 11:14 a.m. Monday that a woman without a drivers license had backed her car into a schoolbus. The bus had been full of kids and was in the parking lot of West Marin School, deputies told the Highway Patrol.
TOMALES A woman at 5:50 p.m. Monday reported a car driven by a girl and carrying two male passengers crashed into a pole at Highway 1 and the Tomales-Petaluma Road. The 17-year-old girl, who had been driving the car, said she wasnt injured, the woman reported. The woman, however, thought the girl was injured but afraid to admit it. The male occupants appeared to be "shaken up," the woman said.
INVERNESS PARK A woman at 5:53 p.m. Monday notified deputies that her husband, who had been drinking, had told her to leave their house. There had been no physical violence, and she had not been drinking, she added, saying she was now outside the house.
POINT REYES STATION A man on Highway 1 at 6:19 p.m. Monday notified deputies that a vandal had smashed two side windows on his Chevrolet van.
FOUR CORNERS A car and pickup truck collided at 7:43 p.m. Monday, but no one was injured. Deputies referred the mishap to the Highway Patrol.
INVERNESS A woman at 9:56 p.m. Monday complained about loud music from a residence on Inverness Way. A deputy contacted a man at the residence, and he said a friend had turned the music up for a short time, but he would keep it down in the future.
POINT REYES STATION A Cypress Road resident at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday complained that several vehicles were driving up and down the road blaring music. She thought the motorists might be drinking because her husband had found beer cans in the bushes beside the road the previous day.
STINSON BEACH An Alameda Patio resident at 7:30 a.m. Sunday complained that a man with a red backpack had been sleeping in dune areas of her property. She said he apparently left when she asked him to, but she asked deputies to check the area.
BOLINAS A man on Wharf Road at 11:20 a.m. last Thursday reported a second man had parked in front of his workplace and was blaring music to annoy him. He described the disturbance as harassment. At 9:02 a.m. Friday, the first man reported the second man was harassing him with a white pickup truck. A deputy gave him advice about getting a court to issue a restraining order. Twenty-six minutes later, the first man called back to say the second man was verbally harassing him. A deputy noted the two were engaged in a civil dispute over money. At 10:02 a.m. the first man reported his motorhome had been broken into, but he didnt know if anything had been taken. At 8:14 a.m. Sunday, the first man told officers the second man had just driven past his vehicle at 40 mph, missing it by inches. He noted he had been asked to call deputies each time the second man harassed him. At the moment, he said, the suspect was heading out of town.
STINSON BEACH A man who owns land on Calle del Pradero at 10:16 a.m. Saturday, told deputies an unlicensed contractor was soliciting work in the area. A deputy gave him advice. At 10:44 a.m., the mans neighbor complained to deputies that the man was harassing him over road construction. A 10:51 a.m. Sunday, the landowner told deputies his property was being vandalized with a tractor and that "the subject is still on the tractor." The officer advised the man to work with the county Planning Division to resolve the problem.
INVERNESS A Laurel Avenue resident at 2:11 p.m. Sunday reported two dirt bikes or scooters had been riding around on fire roads for an hour.
STINSON BEACH Deputies and medics responded at 7:48 p.m. Sunday when a 48-year-old resident of Calle del Pradero reported having felt sick all day. The man, who was sweating heavily, has a history of heart attacks. Although he was conscious, he was not alert, an officer noted.
BOLINAS A Wharf Road resident at 12:57 p.m. Saturday notified deputies his wife had threatened to hit him. She told deputies she had not hit him. At 9:27 p.m. Sunday, the wife told deputies that although the couple has no history of domestic violence, she wanted deputies to provide an escort as she moved out of their house.
TOMALES A motorcycle crashed on Highway 1 at 12:42 p.m. Saturday, but the rider received only minor injuries. Deputies and Highway Patrol officers handled the mishap.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 3:57 p.m. Saturday received word that a 12-year-old boy beyond the surf-line was being carried out to sea by a current. As the caller spoke to deputies first one adult and then two more managed to reach the boy and bring him to shore.
TOMALES A motorcycle crashed on the Tomales-Petaluma Road at 5:22 p.m. Sunday, but injuries were minor because the rider was wearing a helmet, deputies were told. The Highway Patrol handled the mishap.
WOODACRE A resident at 9:04 p.m. Saturday reported hearing fireworks in the area of Madrone Avenue and Edgewood Drive. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
WOODACRE A man at 8:52 a.m. Friday notified deputies that a 76-year-old woman had lost her balance and hit her head. She also had pain in her shoulder, he said.
TOMALES High school staff at 12:46 p.m. Friday reported that two students smell of marijuana. One was cited on charges of being high in public. The other was cited on charges of possessing marijuana.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 6:12 p.m. Friday reported that a very drunk man, 35, who was verbally aggressive, had been asked to leave a bar.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies and medics responded at 3:08 a.m. Friday when an 83-year-old woman experienced a very rapid heartbeat.
POINT REYES STATION A Lorraine Avenue resident at 11:49 a.m. last Thursday reported a "noxious stuff" was coming from a hose running from a neighbors property. She said the "stuff" might be sewage. A deputy determined it was actually drainage water being pumped from a tank. Firefighters agreed to contact the resident.
FOREST KNOLLS A resident at 5:45 p.m. last Thursday reported a 23-year-old man had been seen around his house when it was burglarized that morning. He said the burglar might be his ex-poolman.
FOREST KNOLLS A Rosario Road resident at 11:55 p.m. Feb. 18 reported an "out-of-control" woman was refusing to leave his home and was "smashing and crashing around." At 12:17 p.m., another resident on Rosario Road said the first resident had put her license plate tabs on his car. Deputies gave her advice. At 1:51 p.m., the first resident called back to say the woman that had been out of control earlier had broken a window in his door. A deputy gave him advice.
MUIR BEACH A man on Starbuck Drive at 5:18 p.m. Feb. 18 reported hearing 30 to 40 gunshots from an automatic weapon. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
NICASIO Deputies and medics responded at 7:57 a.m. Feb. 18 when a 62-year-old resident of Lucas Valley Road had trouble breathing. Deputies noted the man was suffering from bronchitis.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Piños resident on Feb. 18 reported a friend in her 40s was suffering from blurred vision, felt weak, had low blood pressure, but was conscious. She said the woman has a history of medical problems.
INVERNESS PARK A Portola Avenue resident at 10:28 a.m. Feb. 18 reported hearing two gunshots. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowners signs a release. February 20, 2003 Sheriff's Calls
BOLINAS An Ocean Parkway resident at 5 p.m. Monday asked deputies to determine whether her houseguest was mentally unstable. She said he appeared to be under the influence of some drug, possibly LSD, and was out of control. Deputies took the homeless man, who hangs out in Bolinas and Oakland, to the crisis unit of Marin General Hospital.
INVERNESS PARK A resident of Paradise Ranch Estates on Friday complained about his neighbors barking dogs, but they were quiet when an officer arrived. At 7:21 p.m. Saturday, the resident again complained about the dogs. At 5:01 p.m. Sunday, a deputy told one of the mans neighbors on Upper Roberts Drive to keep her dogs quiet. At 6:45 p.m. Sunday, the resident called again to complain that the woman was now harassing him and his wife with obscene phone calls in retaliation for their calling deputies about the dogs. At 11:17 a.m. Monday, the resident called officers yet again to complain about the dogs noise. Deputies last year received repeated complaints from the womans neighbors that the dogs were noisy and threatening. A deputy who observed the animals reached the same conclusion.
SAN GERONIMO Deputies and medics responded at 7:46 a.m. Monday when a mother reported her small child had been vomiting periodically since Friday and was having difficulty breathing. The child had been taken to Kaiser Hospital Sunday suffering from the same problems. The woman said that when she called the hospital on Monday, she was told to call 911.
WOODACRE County firefighters at 9:49 a.m. Monday complained that parked vehicles were blocking the roadway at Conifer Way and Fir Avenue. A deputy cited one vehicle on charges of parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
STINSON BEACH A resident at 10:24 a.m. Monday complained that a four-wheel-drive Toyota was blocking her driveway, and she needed to leave home. A deputy ticketed the vehicle.
DILLON BEACH A Kona Lane homeowner at 11:29 a.m. Monday told deputies that a weekend lodger had left his jacket behind and that in the pocket were a cell phone and a small baggy of possible marijuana.
BOLINAS A Wharf Road merchant at 11:31 a.m. Monday said that a man in his 20s had arrived by taxicab and was now outside the merchants business causing trouble. Whenever a car would drive up, the merchant said, the man would try to get in but would then have to get out. The merchant said his employees were now trying to keep the man away from people.
FOREST KNOLLS Medics responded at 12:19 a.m. Monday when 45-year-old resident of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard fell off the third rung of a ladder, bending her leg the wrong way. The woman reported feeling nauseous.
NICASIO A Lucas Valley Road resident at 1:27 p.m. Monday told deputies he had let a man stay on his property, but the man has been leaving trash around and has abandoned a vehicle, which he refuses to remove from the residents property. A deputy gave the resident advice.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Pradero resident at 9:03 p.m. Sunday complained that a neighbor had erected a sand-and-pole barricade in front of a trail that leads to the beach. The barricade obstructs access to the beach, she said, and asked that it be removed. A deputy gave her advice.
DILLON BEACH A Cypress Avenue resident at 11:12 p.m. Sunday told deputies that 15 to 20 juveniles were "roaming" in the neighborhood and may have been drinking. The resident said a party in the area may have just broken up.
DILLON BEACH A Kona Lane resident at 2:35 a.m. Monday reported that a youth in his late teens was walking around her house, tapping on a glass door but not knocking. She said her husband and a baby were in the house.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD The Highway Patrol at 2:51 a.m. Monday found a parked red Nissan Sentra with all its windows smashed. Petaluma Police handled the vandalism case.
TOMALES County firefighters at 8:01 a.m. Sunday reported that someone with chest pains had just walked into the firehouse.
WOODACRE A deputy on Laurel Avenue at 8:29 a.m. Sunday arrested a woman on a warrant for failing to appear in court in connection with drunk-driving and driving-with-a-suspended-license cases.
STINSON BEACH A Seadrift Road resident at 10:43 a.m. Sunday complained that a family member back East is harassing him by phone, claiming that the resident stole money from him. The resident said he wanted to speak with a deputy about the problem. The officer would have to speak with him in person, the resident said, since he had stopped answering the phone. A deputy gave the resident advice.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 3:32 p.m. Sunday called deputies to complain that her ex-husband was trying to get into her house to take her daughter somewhere. However, the woman then said, "Never mind." Adding that she did not want deputies to intervene, she hung up.
OLEMA A woman at 4:33 p.m. Sunday notified deputies a Chevrolet truck was on its side in a ditch along Highway 1. A second caller said a man was walking around the truck.
STINSON BEACH A woman called from Seadrift Road at 5:08 p.m. Sunday to report her 14-year-old son, who had gone boogie boarding, was missing. After a search, deputies discovered the boy had drifted across Bolinas Lagoons mouth and was on Bolinas Beach.
NICASIO A deputy at 8:27 p.m. Saturday reported clearing a rockslide.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 10:04 p.m. Saturday reported there was a large rockslide on Moon Hill near the golf course. He said heavy boulders had closed half the northbound lane.
LAGUNITAS Deputies and medics responded at 11:53 p.m. Saturday when a 10-year-old boy had a seizure and temporarily stopped breathing. The boys jaw was temporarily clenched and he was bleeding from his mouth, a deputy reported. After the youth recovered from the seizure, he was "just lethargic," the officer added.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at 8:01 a.m. Saturday reported an unoccupied car was stuck in a sandtrap near the 12th hole of the golf course. The Toyota turned out to have been stolen from a woman, who had not yet reported it missing.
DOGTOWN A teacher at 8:54 a.m. Saturday reported a student had destroyed her gate. The student admitted breaking her gate but said it was not vandalism.
INVERNESS PARK Paramedics responded at 9:26 a.m. Saturday when a 56-year-old womans heart rate became rapid. Medics transported her to Marin General Hospital.
DILLON BEACH An Ocean Drive caller at 11:52 a.m. Saturday asked deputies for help in putting a 90-year-old woman back in bed.
CHILENO VALLEY A man, who leases a pasture along the Marshall-Petaluma Road, called deputies at 12:17 p.m. Saturday and said he wanted advice "about a big problem with livestock." The "big problem" turned out to be a bull bearing his brand that was seen on another ranch. Deputies contacted the owner of the other ranch who were "cooperative" and exchanged information regarding the bull, which was not found. However, the ranch owners gave the man permission to return and look again.
NICASIO A motorist at 2:26 p.m. Saturday reported that a hitchhiker at Lucas Valley and Nicasio Valley roads "does not look okay." A deputy transported the hitchhiker, who was from Sonoma County, to the San Rafael bus pad.
POINT REYES STATION A man on Knob Hill Road at 2:30 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a 35-year-old woman had fallen from a horse. She had not been wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury, he said, noting that the woman was going into convulsions. She also complained of pain in her right side. Medics took her to a hospital.
INVERNESS A resident at 2:37 p.m. Saturday complained that loud parties are a constant problem on Inverness Way. A deputy gave him advice regarding his neighbors.
BOLINAS An 18-month-old girl at 3:04 p.m. Saturday pulled a coffee cup off a table, scalding her chest, abdomen, and left leg. She was treated at a clinic.
NICASIO A security guard at 9:48 p.m. Saturday asked deputies to check on a man who had arrived by taxicab, said he was married to actress Brooke Shields, and wanted to see a filmmaker. The 40-year-old man appeared to be mentally disordered, not drunk or high on drugs, a deputy quoted the guard as saying.
WOODACRE A resident at 10:14 p.m. Friday reported that a man had kicked in her door and gotten into a quarrel with her over a dog. Deputies advised both people to separate.
BOLINAS A man and wife at 2:18 a.m. Friday got into a quarrel on Brighton Avenue over Valentines Day problems.
LAGUNITAS Deputies and medics responded to Barranca Road at 10:04 a.m. Friday when a 72-year-old woman began acting disoriented after her blood pressure went up. Officers said she was nonetheless "relatively coherent."
INVERNESS PARK A deer was hit by a car on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 10:56 a.m. Friday, suffering a broken leg and a shattered hip. A deputy shot the animal to put it out of its misery.
BOLINAS A Spring Avenue resident at 11:25 a.m. Friday reported hearing a mother and daughter screaming, with one of them yelling, "You broke my stereo." A deputy abated the disturbance.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD A woman at 5:24 p.m. Friday reported a 21-year-old man while on her ranch accidentally shot his left index finger with a 22-caliber gun.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 6:39 p.m. Friday reported seven or eight young men at the south end of the main street were spinning their pickup trucks and screeching their tires. The drivers wee gone when a deputy arrived.
SAN GERONIMO A man at 7:15 a.m. last Thursday reported a burglar had broken into his vehicle while it was parked during the night on San Geronimo Valley Drive. The burglar, who smashed the left front window to enter the vehicle, stole a CD player, 200 CDs, two bass loudspeakers, and an amplifier.
OLEMA A deputy at 10:33 a.m. last Thursday received a report of a cow on Highway 1 near Five Brooks. The rancher who owned the cow returned it to its pasture.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies and medics responded to Montezuma Avenue at 12:26 p.m. last Thursday when a 79-year-old woman had difficulty breathing and felt weak when her heartbeat became high.
FOUR CORNERS A motorist was arrested at 7:56 a.m. last Wednesday on charges of drunk driving.
TOMALES A woman at 11:12 a.m. last Wednesday notified deputies that the previous week a couple, whom she doesnt know, had tried to pick up her eight-year-old daughter from basketball practice, saying they had permission. The girl did not go with them.
LAGUNITAS Deputies and firefighters at 6:14 p.m. last Thursday responded when a residence on La Cuesta Avenue had a chimney fire. The fire was quickly put out.

February 13, 2003 Sheriff's Calls
BOLINAS A woman at 7:22 p.m. Monday called deputies from a payphone and said she was going "ballistic." She said she had been drinking, could not describe the clothes she was wearing, and wanted to go to the "mental ward." The call was then disconnected, and when deputies again made contact with her, the woman said she now wanted to go to a bar for a cup of coffee.
WOODACRE A Central Avenue resident at 9:05 p.m. Monday notified deputies his Ford Escort had been burglarized over the weekend. He said the burglar broke a rear window to gain entry to the car and steal its stereo.
WOODACRE A Conifer Way resident at 8:18 a.m. Monday told deputies his ex-girlfriend had stolen a house key while she was cleaning his house. A deputy later reported, "I told him to change his locks and tell her she is not allowed back in his house."
BOLINAS A Wharf Road merchant at 8:36 a.m. Monday complained that a man was harassing him at work and bothering one of his employees. A deputy gave the merchant advice in handling a civil-law dispute between an employee and customer.
TOMALES A Middle Road woman at 9:47 a.m. Monday reported a man had asked her to summon deputies. He said the man was having problems with an employee. The Sonoma County Sheriffs Office handled the matter.
NICASIO A man called deputies at 9:50 a.m. Monday and reported several tools were stolen from a job site on Lafranchi Lane.
WOODACRE County firefighters at 3:05 p.m. reported a motorist had driven off Castle Rock Avenue in front of the firehouse and ended up in bushes.
STINSON BEACH A man at 5:09 p.m. Monday complained that a transient has been sleeping in the lobby of the postoffice. The man told deputies he would like them to remove the transient if they spotted him.
TOMALES A resident on Saturday evening notified deputies she had just received a call from her 17-year-old daughter, who was crying. The girl said her father had hit her on the back of the head, pushed her onto the ground, choked her, and kicked her. The girl said she had left their house with her five- and eight-year-old siblings and was calling from a business downtown. At 8 a.m. Sunday, the mother again called deputies about the previous nights incident and said she might need a deputy to stand by while she removed her daughters belongings from their house.
LAGUNITAS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 10:21 a.m. Sunday told deputies he had sold a car three weeks ago, with the buyer paying half the price in cash and writing a check for the other half. However, the resident said, the buyer then put a stop-payment order on the check, which was for $200. The resident said he has been unable to contact the buyer. A deputy took a civil-law fraud report.
DILLON BEACH A woman at 12:24 p.m. Sunday reported a boy had found a cell phone in the dunes and turned it over to a campground.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 10:17 p.m. Saturday received a report that people renting a home on Seadrift Road keep holding parties with bonfires in the dunes. A deputy contacted the partygoers, the fire was put out, and the officer advised the celebrants about county laws against bonfires on the beach.
DILLON BEACH A woman on Marine View Drive at 11:37 p.m. Saturday reported that four or five carloads of youths from Napa were refusing to leave a campground.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 8:35 a.m. Saturday complained that three males, who were camping on the beach with a bonfire, had been stopping people and asking them for marijuana and cigarettes. As he was leaving the beach, the man said, the trio yelled at him for money. Bystanders put out the fire.
STINSON BEACH The Humane Society at 8:39 a.m. Saturday reported a deer had been injured in traffic on Highway 1, but no deputies were available to put it out of its misery.
MUIR BEACH A resident at 8:25 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that a 26-year-old womans heartbeat was fluttering. The resident later called back to say the womans heartbeat had returned to normal.
BOLINAS Deputies at 12:54 p.m. Saturday received a report that a bicyclist had fallen off a bicycle on the Bolinas-Fairfax Road "four kilometers from the bottom." Officers could not find the bicyclist and said it was possible the rider had plunged down an embankment somewhere.
INVERNESS PARK A resident at 1:28 p.m. Saturday complained to deputies that his 13-year-old son was supposed to visit him that day but was refusing to do so. Although he and his son had quarreled, the father said, the boys mother was away, so the 13 year old could not be left without supervision. He asked deputies for advice.
ALPINE DAM At 4:47 p.m. Saturday, a Marin Municipal Water District ranger on the Bolinas-Fairfax Road spotted two males trying to get into a dam tunnel. "Due to the increased [terrorist]-threat level," a deputy reported, "the persons were identified and told to stay away from the dam."
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD A resident at 7:30 p.m. Friday notified deputies that a 15-year-old boy was harassing her 10-year-old daughter by phone. The resident told deputies the boy had told her daughter that "he had a gun and was going to shoot her. He said he was holding the gun while he was on the phone." The resident also said her daughter had found in her school locker a "love poem" she believes came from the boy.
OLEMA A deputy at 5:03 a.m. Saturday found a cow on Highway 1 south of Five Brooks and put it back in its field.
TOMALES Petaluma firefighters at 8:35 a.m. Friday transported a 16-year-old student from the high school to a hospital. School staff told officers the girl was conscious again and "passes out easily."
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Piños resident at 8:58 p.m. last Thursday reported her 28-year-old stepson and her husband had gotten into a physical fight. His son had now left in a pickup truck, heading toward Bolinas, she said. Neither the father nor his son pressed charges against the other, so deputies listed the incident as "mutual combat." However, the father was taken to a hospital as a "precaution."
MUIR BEACH An injured, 50-year-old bicyclist was found beside Highway 1 at 9:06 a.m. last Thursday after he spent two days in brush after falling off his bicycle. When he was found, the man had lost his wallet, not eaten in two days, and his bicycle was broken, a deputy reported. Nonetheless, the bicyclist was "conscious and reasonably alert," the officer said.
STINSON BEACH A merchant at 2:11 p.m. last Thursday reported that an employee, who was about to be fired, had stolen $800 from the company by using his computer to transfer company funds to his private account.
BOLINAS A Crescent Avenue tenant on behalf of her landlord at 2:14 p.m. last Thursday complained that a contractor on neighboring property was pouring concrete six inches across the property line. A deputy said both the tenant and the contractor were "peaceful" but insistent. They both agreed to contact attorneys.
POINT REYES STATION A 25-year-old woman at 8:17 p.m. last Wednesday told deputies she had lost her blue wallet downtown on Sunday.
SAN GERONIMO Deputies at 12:41 p.m. last Wednesday received a request from Child Protective Services to determine if a girl had been raped. An officer concluded no rape had occurred, but deputies this week were investigating whether the girl had been inappropriately touched.
LAGUNITAS A Chimney Lane resident at 2:29 p.m. last Wednesday said men were putting up a retaining wall on her property. The resident said she had asked them to leave, but they refused, so she wanted advice on getting a court to issue a retraining order against them.
POINT REYES STATION A doctors staff at 4:47 p.m. last Thursday said a sometimes-homeless 50 year old had been in the waiting room when he managed to get access to a bunch of unused hypodermic needles and steal them.
INVERNESS PARK A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 5:59 p.m. last Wednesday complained that a blue Toyota sedan was parked in the middle of his driveway so that he could not enter or leave. A deputy ticketed the car, which was registered to an Inverness couple.
FOREST KNOLLS A Montezuma Avenue resident at 11:36 a.m. Feb. 4 reported that a tar mixer had just been emptied onto the street. Tar was flowing all over the road, she said. A deputy determined that what the resident was actually seeing on the pavement was water, not tar.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. FOREST KNOLLS A deputy at 7:04 p.m. Saturday arrested a man on charges of public drunkenness after the man entered a store and for no apparent reason hit another man. The second man was not hurt.
BOLINAS A Crescente Avenue resident at 12:30 p.m. Friday reported that a vandal had broken survey stakes, damaged a fence, and turned over a portable toilet on her property. She said she suspects the vandal is a neighbor which whom shes had a dispute.
CHILENO VALLEY A deputy at 8:53 a.m. Monday reported three white-faced cows were on Chileno Valley Road. He herded the cows into a field but could not locate their owner.
STINSON BEACH A man at 9:34 a.m. Monday reported finding a one-foot-long, possibly human bone in a creek.
BOLINAS A Yucca Road resident at 11:43 a.m. Monday reported her husband had yet to show up for his 9 a.m. job in San Francisco.
LAGUNITAS A landlord, who was evicting a tenant, at 2:36 p.m. Monday asked that a deputy accompany him while he inspected her quarters. The deputy instead gave him advice.
LAGUNITAS A man at 4:42 p.m. reported that a woman had jumped in front of his vehicle and screamed at him when he tried to leave his house. She then moved, and he drove off, he told officers. He described her as a traffic hazard.
NICASIO A member of the San Rafael Fire Department at 6:08 p.m. Monday notified deputies that a vehicle had hit a deer and run into an embankment. No one in the vehicle was hurt although its air bags deployed.
HICKS VALLEY A rancher at 11:17 p.m. Saturday reported two trucks were parked near Lincoln School and noted that trucks had previously caused vandalism in the area at night. A deputy could not find the trucks. At 11:31 p.m. Monday, the rancher requested extra patrols around his ranch, noting that trucks have been spinning donuts in pastures where he keeps cattle and sheep guarded by dogs.
INVERNESS An 84-year-old woman was transported to Marin General Hospital at 9:54 p.m. Saturday because her "groin area was very swollen." A deputy noted shed had a medical checkup the previous day.
WOODACRE A resident at Carson and Sylvan roads at 10:08 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a vehicle had run off the road and plunged down an embankment. She said her daughter had gone out with a flashlight to see how far the vehicle had gone down the embankment.
BOLINAS A woman at 11:47 p.m. Saturday told deputies that someone was sitting in the middle of Alder Road near Cedar Road. She couldnt see the person very well in the dark "but was sure it was a man," a deputy noted. When she spoke to him, she said, the man replied that he was "just sitting" there. She said she was concerned for his safety.
FOREST KNOLLS A vandal poured molasses over the windshield and left condoms on top of a parked vehicle during the night, a Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident reported at 11:55 a.m. Saturday.
WOODACRE A woman at 12:02 p.m. Saturday complained that a man had violated a court-issued restraining order by sending her letters at home and at work.
STINSON BEACH US Park Police and deputies responded to the federal beach at 1:08 p.m. Saturday when a maintenance worker had chest pains. He was transported to a hospital.
CHILENO VALLEY A man at 1:09 a.m. Saturday complained that 10 people who arrived in five cars were playing loud music on his property. He said the group are friends of one of his employees but refused to leave when he asked them to. He described the problem as ongoing. A deputy gave him advice.
NICASIO Deputies and medics responded to Nicasio Valley Road at 11:22 a.m. Saturday when a 20-year-old man from Petaluma fell off a horse and the horse fell on him, injuring his shoulder.
NICASIO A deputy at 12:11 p.m. Saturday reported a bicyclist on Nicasio Valley Road was in distress because his bicycle had broken. The bicyclist was gone when another deputy arrived.
MARSHALL A man at 12:25 p.m. Saturday told deputies hed heard a horn, possibly from a boat in distress. He noted Tomales Bay was very choppy at the time, so he could not take his own boat out to check. The Coast Guard responded.
NICASIO A woman on the Road to the Ranches at 1:43 p.m. Saturday said a 68-year-old man, who recently had surgery for a broken hip, was slipping in and out of consciousness. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
BOLINAS The Highway Patrol at 11:17 p.m. Friday reported a gray sedan had run off the road at the intersection of Horseshoe Hill and Olema-Bolinas roads. No one was injured, but a towtruck was required.
LAGUNITAS A Chimney Lane resident at 2:53 p.m. Friday told deputies he had been advised by his lawyers to let officers know he would be erecting a fence Monday. He said the notification was needed because of his neighbors hostility. A deputy gave him advice.
SAN GERONIMO A Meadow View Way resident at 3:30 p.m. Friday complained that youths keep partying on her property and leave garbage behind.
NICASIO Deputies and medics responded to Nicasio Valley Road at 3:48 p.m. Friday when an automatic gate crushed the left thumb and index finger of a six-year-old girl, leaving her bleeding.
LAGUNITAS A Spring Road resident at 6:46 p.m. Friday complained that a former roommate, who had previously been arrested for vandalism at the mans residence, was now outside, and his red van was parked out front. He described the former roommate as a man in his mid-50s.
STINSON BEACH Stinson Beach Water District at 8:02 a.m. last Thursday told deputies it had received a call from the Mountain Home Inn on Mount Tamalpais, saying that a vehicle had run into Bolinas Lagoon. The unoccupied vehicle was found in the lagoon just south of Stinson Beach School.
STINSON BEACH A man at 1:55 p.m. last Thursday called deputies from Belvedere Avenue to report a vandal had gouged a five-inch scratch on the tailgate of his 1994 Toyota pickup truck. He estimated it will cost $300 to repair the damage.
INVERNESS PARK Deputies and medics responded at 3:14 p.m. last Thursday when an 85-year-old woman reported back, leg, and neck pain.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 6:46 p.m. last Thursday complained she was receiving harassing phone calls from her boyfriend in Rohnert Park. A deputy determined no crime had occurred.
STINSON BEACH A woman at 2:18 p.m. last Wednesday reported a $400 acoustic guitar had been stolen from the school Jan. 23.
INVERNESS A citizen walked into the Point Reyes Sheriffs Substation at 2:50 p.m. last Wednesday to report a deer had been injured in traffic at Inverness Way and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard but was still alive. The deer had died by the time a deputy reached the scene.
WOODACRE A woman at 7:08 p.m. last Wednesday notified deputies she could hear sounds in her basement. She ran out of the house and called her mother via a cell phone. When her mother arrived at the womans house five minutes ago, there was a light in the basement area, the woman said.
POINT REYES STATION A Highway 1 resident at 7:57 p.m. last Wednesday reported seeing a "bright-red flare with a smoke trail" falling from 200 feet up roughly half a mile high east of his house. He also said he saw a small plane flying eastbound four or five minutes later but did not know if the two events were related.
WOODACRE A Redwood Drive resident at 11:42 a.m. Jan. 28 reported that someone, possibly a garbageman, had stolen his five-month-old, black Labrador puppy from in front of his house. He said he had heard a man talking with the dog before it disappeared. A deputy gave the resident advice on looking for his dog, which turned out not to have been stolen.
NICASIO A man at 5:14 p.m. Jan. 28 reported a gardener at 2:15 p.m. had dumped a load of debris in the middle of Camino Margarita at Lucas Valley Road. He said the gardener had a mustache and was driving a white Chevrolet pickup truck.
DILLON BEACH Police from the City of Sutter Creek in Amador County at 5:22 a.m. Jan. 28 asked West Marin deputies if they could help locate a Dillon resident suspected of passing bad checks.
FOUR CORNERS Deputies at 5:28 p.m. Jan. 28 received a report that a deer had been hit in traffic. The Humane Society killed the animal to put it out of its misery.
MUIR BEACH A rescue helicopter was summoned at 8:21 p.m. Jan. 28 when an 88-year-old woman with a history of Parkinsons Disease had trouble breathing.
LAGUNITAS A rescue helicopter was summoned at 10:18 p.m. when a 76-year-old Barranca Road resident experienced extremely low blood pressure. The man has had heart bypass surgery and has a history of hypertension.
