POINT REYES STATION A Mesa Road resident at 8:57 a.m. last Wednesday complained to deputies that she had been harassed with obscene phone calls for five years.
MARSHALL A stolen Chevrolet pickup truck became stuck in mud near Millerton Point last Thursday. A deputy at 10:40 a.m. responded to a report of the stuck truck, checked with the Highway Patrol, and learned that the truck had been stolen in Santa Rosa. The vehicles engine was still warm, so the deputy continued north on Highway 1 and near the Tomales Bay Oyster Company found a very muddy man walking along the highway. The deputy arrested the man on charges of vehicle theft. The officer reported finding the keys to the truck in one of the mans pockets.
INVERNESS An Argyle Street resident at 11:10 a.m. Saturday reported that some stranger has been attempting to obtain her bank debit card. Using the name and Social Security number of her late husband, the stranger has filed to have the accounts mailing address changed, she told deputies.
HICKS VALLEY A Hicks Valley Road rancher at 10:59 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a vandal driving a white pickup truck had torn up his pasture. He gave the trucks license number to officers.
INVERNESS An Inverness Way resident at 8:32 p.m. Sunday reported that from his house he had seen a red flare in the sky to the west near the top of Inverness Ridge. A deputy could find nothing amiss.
TOMALES A woman at 9:19 p.m. Sunday said her daughter had been visiting with her ex-husband in Tomales and that he was now refusing to drive the girl home as he had promised. She said she no longer lives in Tomales. A deputy contacted the father.
POINT REYES STATION A Cypress Road resident at 1:48 a.m. Monday complained about hearing a "rumbling," which said might be coming from an idling semi truck-and-trailer rig. She said the noise was especially disturbing because she is sick.
POINT REYES STATION A 90-year-old man fell out of bed, hit his head on the bedpost, and couldnt get up Monday morning for two hours. However, he was conscious when found at 9:40 a.m.
MARSHALL Deputies and medics at 10:40 a.m. Monday responded to a ranch on the Marshall-Petaluma Road when a 41-year-old man reported that his eyes kept crossing and that he could not focus.
WOODACRE A Marin Municipal Water District dispatcher at 11:10 Monday asked that a deputy met with district employees at Carson and Conifer roads where a vandal defaced water tanks with graffiti and by using rocks smashed several pipes. Damage was estimated at $200.
LAGUNITAS A Lagunitas Road resident at 3:05 p.m. Jan. 21 reported buying a schoolbus from a local man four months ago. The seller may have now tampered with the bus wiring to cause it to "explode," the buyer said, adding that the bus was parked at Conifer Way and Carson Road in Woodacre. At 8:17 p.m. last Thursday, the owner of the schoolbus complained after deputies for the second time tagged it to be towed away unless it was moved from where it was parked on Lagunitas Road within 72 hours. In fact, the owner said, he uses the bus regularly. A deputy gave him advice. Another Lagunitas resident at 1:57 p.m. Monday reported a man appeared to be living in a green trailer on his fathers property at the Lagunitas Road address. The second resident said he was concerned about sewage going into a creek, as well as the risk of fire. He also complained that the schoolbus and an old Airporter bus were being periodically lived in although Marin law prohibits living in vehicles.
CHILENO VALLEY A deputy at 2:35 p.m. Monday found a truck that had spun out on Chileno Valley Road and crashed into a hillside. The truck now had two flat tires. Although a baby was in the truck, nobody was injured, the deputy reported.
BOLINAS Deputies and medics responded at 4:31 p.m. Monday to Juniper Road after a 32-year-old man injured a knee on a trampoline. A friend drove him to a medical facility.
FOREST KNOLLS A Montezuma Avenue resident at 7:43 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that another woman had appeared at her door saying that she was a West Marin-based celebritys new wife and that she was looking for him.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 10:11 p.m. Saturday reported that a neighbor was destroying the interior of her own house and was a danger to herself. The neighbor was taken to the county crisis unit for observation but quickly released, the resident called back to report at 1:01 p.m. She said she was angry that crisis unit staff refused to take any information from her.
SAN GERONIMO A week ago there was a report of a gun being shot in Roys Woods Preserve. At 1:05 p.m. Saturday, an Open Space District ranger told deputies a vehicle, which had been parked outside the preserve at the time of the earlier shooting report, was parked there again.
POINT REYES STATION A restaurant manager at 8:39 a.m. Saturday notified deputies that during a burglary at the restaurant on Jan. 20, more had been stolen than was first realized. The restaurant originally reported several thousand dollars had been taken.
NICASIO A woman on Nicasio Valley Road at 12:33 p.m. Saturday reported a 50-year-old female equestrian had fallen from a horse and was experiencing back pain. The rider was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda by ambulance.
NICASIO A Nicasio Valley Road resident at 1:13 p.m. Saturday told deputies he "is very upset and states he wanted to punch his neighbor," an officer reported. The resident said his neighbor was working on a gate and was refusing to move a truck so he could get out of his own driveway. The quarrel ended before an officer arrived.
BOLINAS A man at 2:10 p.m. Saturday complained that numerous vehicles were illegally parked on Park Avenue near Brighton Avenue. He said some cars were parked directly under no-parking signs. A deputy ticketed four vehicles and contacted the owner of a fifth, whom he counseled.
DILLON BEACH A woman at 10:26 p.m. Saturday complained of people near the towns pirate statue shooting off fireworks. The woman later called deputies back and said they didnt need to respond because the fireworks had stopped.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 1:27 a.m. Friday complained that a Point Reyes Station resident in his early 30s was brandishing a shovel in a bar. The caller said the man with the shovel was now outside the bar and that the man he had been quarreling with was inside.
SAN GERONIMO A San Geronimo Valley Drive resident at 2:06 a.m. Saturday reported that a man had used a trowel to break the residents window and then claimed someone else had broken in. The resident said the mans friend was outside and that there had been no fighting.
FOREST KNOLLS A Guadalupe Place resident at 4:21 a.m. Saturday told deputies she could hear someone coughing in the town park and believed someone was sleeping there. A deputy contacted a woman in the park. The woman, whose car was parked across the street, then went into a residence.
PT. REYES-PETALUMA ROAD The county Department of Public Works at 10:51 a.m. Friday reported a load of gravel had been dumped on the road. The road was cleared.
OLEMA Deputies at 1:18 p.m. Friday responded to a verbal disturbance in the parking lot of the Point Reyes National Seashores Visitor Center. The quarrel was over and the antagonists had left by the time an officer arrived.
BOLINAS A Stinson Beach man at 8:17 p.m. last Thursday complained that a dentist had purposely burned him. A deputy concluded no crime had occurred and that the man "wanted advice so he could get free dental work."
INVERNESS Deputies and medics responded to a Sir Francis Drake Boulevard home when a 53-year-old man suffered back pains and began vomiting apparently as a result of a kidney stone.
NICASIO The county Department of Public Works at 12:59 p.m. last Thursday notified deputies there had been a non-injury traffic accident near the Nicasio Reservoir dam. Deputies referred the mishap to the Highway Patrol.
FALLON Deputies at 7:42 a.m. last Wednesday received a report that a tree had fallen across Middle Road. After a discussion between various agencies as to whether Marin or Sonoma county was responsible for clearing away the tree, it was agreed that Middle Road is in Marin County, and its Department of Public Works reopened the road.
WOODACRE A Carson Road resident at 9:44 a.m. last Wednesday notified deputies that a vandal had broken two windows of his Ford Explorer.
LAGUNITAS A Spring Road man at 11:26 a.m. last Wednesday told deputies that someone had stolen mail from his mailbox, including blank checks. Three of the checks had been forged and cashed for a total of $1,100, he said.
CHILENO VALLEY A deputy at 8:08 a.m. Jan. 21 reported being able to get three of eight black Angus cows off Chileno Valley Road and back into their pasture. He reported that a Highway Patrol officer would get the other five off the road.
STINSON BEACH US Park Police at 10:40 a.m. Jan. 21 were told by a maintenance worker that someone was trying to break into the lifeguard tower. A deputy checked and found no merit to the report.
BOLINAS A Cedar Road resident at 12:33 p.m. Jan. 21 reported that a man in town had threatened to beat him up. The resident already had secured a court-issued temporary restraining order against the suspect, and a deputy took a TRO-violation report.
NICASIO A Lucas Valley Road resident at 6:21 p.m. Jan. 21 notified deputies that her 17-year-old daughter had slapped her in the arm after she confronted the girl about cutting classes.
LAGUNITAS An Arroyo Road resident at 8:01 p.m. Jan. 21 reported that a man had come to her house uninvited, grabbed her, and pulled the phone out of her hand. There was a "tussle on the couch," deputies reported she told them. The woman told officers the man had left in a gray Ford Taurus.
SAN GERONIMO The driver of a white Nissan refused to stop when the Highway Patrol directed it to pull over at 12:21 p.m. Jan. 21. It then evaded CHP pursuit. An officer at Lagunitas School Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard later reported one person had been detained.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. OLEMA A woman at 2:40 p.m. Friday reported a burglar had stolen a solar panel off the top of her travel trailer, which had been in storage.
POINT REYES STATION A woman at 2:40 p.m. Saturday reported losing her business-card case downtown. At 11:10 a.m. the next day, an Inverness man went to the sheriffs substation and turned in the womans wallet. He said he had found it beside the freeway on his way home from work.
OLEMA A deputy at 7:05 p.m. last Thursday shot a fallow buck, which had been injured in traffic on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, to put it out of its misery.
POINT REYES STATION A burglar wielding a sledge hammer smashed his way into a restaurant Sunday night and stole several thousand dollars, the owner told deputies at 8:05 a.m. Monday.
FOREST KNOLLS A Tamal Road resident on Sunday morning complained that a tenant was holding a garage sale, which was blocking access to his familys property. He then added the tenant was now moving her stuff. At 3:15 p.m. that afternoon, the tenant complained she was having a problem with her landlords, who were upset about her garage sale. She said her landlady was standing at the end of the driveway telling people not to go to the sale. A deputy gave her advice. At 10:14 a.m. Monday, the landlady complained to deputies again about the yard sale, saying her attorney had instructed her to get any harassment documented.
NICASIO Deputies, firefighters, and a Marin Municipal Water District ranger responded at 10:32 a.m. Monday when they received a report of juveniles fishing and having a campfire along Nicasio Valley Road.
WOODACRE At a womans request, a deputy at 3:11 p.m. Monday went to Conifer Way and stood by while a woman removed belongings from a residence. The woman said she and a man had just quarreled over the property and money she owed him. A deputy reported the "standby [was] provided without too much incident."
TOMALES A woman at 3:27 p.m. Monday reported her 20-year-old son was out of control and screaming at her husband. She said she did not know what her son was upset about but that his outbursts are an "ongoing problem."
SAN GERONIMO A Highway Patrol officer at 1:55 a.m. Sunday arrested a motorist, who was driving erratically at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Nicasio Valley Road, on drunk driving charges.
FOREST KNOLLS A North Sinaloa Avenue resident at 7:40 a.m. Sunday complained that the county Open Space District by court order is supposed to allow no more than 10 people per day to cross his land to reach district property. The district, however, is "not following through," he said. The resident was particularly upset that some dog owners let dogs off their leashes, and the dogs then attack his cat.
FOREST KNOLLS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard household at 9:06 a.m. Sunday told deputies that the previous night they had reported a burglary and had now found that additional property is missing, including CDs and $1,800 in cash.
SAN GERONIMO A Meadow Way resident at 9:18 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that eight CDs had been stolen from her van during the night.
STINSON BEACH A Calle del Embarcadero resident at 11 a.m. Sunday asked to speak to the deputies who had arrested her son the previous night. The woman said she wanted to know the details of what led to his arrest.
LAGUNITAS A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 2:20 p.m. Sunday told deputies she had returned home to find the fence along her property line had been moved 20 feet. She said two youths were working behind the fence and that she suspected they moved it. She asked a deputy to look over the situation, but when he went to her property, her dogs kept him away from her residence, and he could not reach her by phone.
FALLON A resident at Highway 1 and Whitaker Bluff Road at 7:37 p.m. Saturday told deputies that a vandal had stolen one of two signs the county Public Works Department installed six months ago to mark the town of Fallon. She said the sign at Whitaker Bluff Road had apparently been cut off.
STINSON BEACH A resident at 7:39 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that he was supposed to be keeping an eye on his neighbors Calle del Embarcadero house for them, so he had called the house when he saw lights on. He said a girl answered the phone, sounded nervous, and hung up.
FOREST KNOLLS A Montezuma Avenue resident at 9:30 a.m. Saturday notified deputies she had received a suspicious e-mail and asked to have an officer look at it. A deputy gave her advice.
POINT REYES STATION A 21-year-old suspect in a hit-and-run traffic accident turned himself in at 11:29 a.m. Saturday. He was questioned by deputies and then released.
MUIR BEACH A resident at 2:28 p.m. Saturday reported her daughter was having a bad reaction to medication. She said the 40 year old was sitting in a chair but unconscious.
POINT REYES STATION A Mesa Road resident at 8:35 p.m. Friday notified deputies there was a prowler on her property. She was armed with a rifle when she met officers at her door. After the woman said she had heard a mans voice in her shrubbery, a deputy looked for a prowler but found none.
HICKS VALLEY A Hicks Valley Road rancher at 9:36 p.m. Friday complained that two trucks had been spinning donuts at a flat on her property. They were gone now, she said.
BOLINAS Deputies and firefighters at 9:26 p.m. Friday responded to Wharf Road when a woman suffered a severe nose bleed.
WOODACRE A Central Avenue resident at 11:22 p.m. Friday notified deputies there might be a prowler at her front door. The person turned out to be her husband.
TOCALOMA A sheriffs deputy and a Highway Patrol officer at 1:54 a.m. Friday began a search for the occupants of a vehicle that had run off an embankment. Although the officers drove as far as Bolinas and Lagunitas, they found no one.
INVERNESS PARK A Vallejo Avenue resident at 2:06 a.m. Saturday reported a hit-and-run motorist had struck his red Jeep and his neighbors fence. He said he did not know if the neighbors were aware their fence had been damaged. Deputies noted the fleeing car would be missing a front headlight because one was found at the scene.
NICASIO An Old Rancheria Road resident at 10:57 a.m. Friday asked what to do about her neighbors cattle on her property. A deputy gave her advice.
BOLINAS Deputies and medics at 11:03 a.m. responded to Wharf Road near the community center when a man went into seizures. The medics told deputies that the mans friends wanted to take him home. The medics, however, wanted officers to keep the man where he was until they could work on him. An officer reported there were "no problems once [deputies were] on the scene."
OLEMA A Whistlestop Wheels driver at 12:55 p.m. Friday notified deputies that an older motorist had run into a ditch and needed a tow. Deputies referred the matter to the Highway Patrol.
FOREST KNOLLS A Montezuma Avenue resident at 2:16 p.m. Friday complained that her neighbors chickens "stink" and asked what she could do about it. A deputy gave her advice.
NICASIO A citizen at 8:31 p.m. last Thursday walked into the sheriffs substation in Point Reyes Station and reported there was a rockslide at the dam for Nicasio Reservoir. A deputy, who went to the scene, reported the rockslide was "minor" although one vehicle had been immobilized by two flattened tires. Several small boulders and gravel were removed from Point Reyes-Petaluma Road.
INVERNESS PARK A deputy at 9:19 p.m. last Thursday arrested a young man on charges of drunk driving. The arrest occurred at gunpoint near Redwood Drive because the driver did not initially pull over when signaled to do so, a deputy reported. The Highway Patrol handled the case and transported the young man to jail.
POINT REYES STATION A resident at 3:20 a.m. last Wednesday complained to deputies about his neighbors "rampant Chihuahuas." A deputy contacted the dogs owner, who agreed to bring them indoors.
DILLON BEACH A man on Marine View Drive at 8:38 a.m. last Wednesday notified deputies that thieves had stolen two crabs and a gray bucket during the night. He also said a window at the campground had been broken and that there was blood on it. The man suggested the two matters might be related. A deputy contacted four people who admitted taking the crabs and the bucket but denied knowing anything about the window. The man did not press charges but ordered the four to leave.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at 4:26 p.m. last Wednesday called deputies from Tamarack Road to report a 44-year-old rider had fallen from her horse on San Geronimo Ridge. The woman reported the rider had "widespread pain" and that her elbow was bleeding. The rider may have been dragged by her horse, the woman said.
NICASIO Deputies and medics responded at 7:35 p.m. Jan. 14 when a five year old boy inadvertently ran straight into the bricks of a fireplace, possibly breaking his nose. The boy did not receive any burns.
CHILENO VALLEY A woman at 10:52 a.m. Jan. 14 notified deputies of three cows loose beside Chileno Valley Road. A deputy assisted a rancher in getting the cows back into their pasture.
INVERNESS A Woodhaven Road woman at 2:42 p.m. Jan. 14 reported a man had fallen off a low stool and twisted his ankle, causing great pain.

January 16, 2003 Sheriff's Calls
OLEMA A ranger at 10:47 p.m. Monday notified deputies there was a severely injured deer in the middle of Bear Valley Road. The ranger, who was not carrying a pistol, could not put the animal out of its misery, so a deputy shot the deer instead.
INVERNESS PARK A resident at 1:01 a.m. Monday told deputies she had received a threatening message from an unknown man, who said he wants to have sex with her and that he masturbates while he watches her at work.
WOODACRE A man at 8:05 a.m. Monday reported a female tenant had entered his house a few days earlier and had taken $1,000 in cash. He said money belongs to her, but as executor of a trust for her, he is supposed to disburse the money to her on a weekly basis.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies and fire inspectors at 12:01 p.m. Monday went to an 81-year-old womans home and concluded she suffers from "packers and hoarders syndrome." She was taken to the county crisis unit for 72-hour evaluation.
HICKS VALLEY A green Nissan collided with a white Nissan at the intersection of Point Reyes-Petaluma Road and Novato Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. Monday. One driver complained of shoulder pain. Deputies referred the mishap to the Highway Patrol.
BOLINAS A 13-year-old girl, who said she had locked herself in her room, reported her parents were having a verbal fight with her mother yelling and her father drinking and screaming. She said her parents have no history of such fights. Eventually, her mother asked her to open the door to her room, but when she did, her mother was gone, the girl said.
CHILENO VALLEY The Highway Patrol at 12:25 p.m. Sunday notified deputies that a red Buick was stuck in the mud. The CHP, noting that it was having trouble understanding the motorist and was concerned for her, asked deputies to check on the situation. The Highway Patrol meanwhile arranged for a towtruck.
WOODACRE A Conifer Way resident at 1:52 p.m. Sunday said a motorscooter had been in a ditch since morning. A deputy could not find it.
INVERNESS PARK A resident at 4:54 p.m. Sunday told deputies her daughter had heard three gunshots. When a deputy checked, he found that happy Oakland Raiders fans had thrown cans into a bonfire.
FOREST KNOLLS Deputies reported that a man, 34, was 86d from a bar at 5 p.m. after some patrons objected to his making rude comments to them during a football game.
WOODACRE Deputies at 6:56 p.m. Sunday received a report of a man and woman quarreling on Redwood Drive. Officers were told the woman was screaming, "Leave me alone." The caller also said the couples neighbors had pinned the man against a wall to keep him from harming her, adding that there is a history of violence between them.
NICASIO The Highway Patrol at 7:11 a.m. Saturday asked deputies to help an officer deal with eight to 10 Holsteins on the side of Lucas Valley Road near Big Rock. The cows were temporarily secured behind a fence on Lucasfilm property while their owner was contacted.
MUIR BEACH The Highway Patrol at 12:06 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that a bag of bones, possibly human, had been found on the shoulder of Highway 1. When a deputy checked, he found the bag was full of garbage.
OLEMA A merchant at 1:04 p.m. Saturday said a tall man was hanging around her business and refusing to leave. She asked to have a deputy move him along. When the officer contacted the man, the man asked to be taken to the county crisis unit and was transported there.
INVERNESS PARK A woman at 2:08 p.m. Saturday reported that while she was at her mothers house, she received threatening phone calls from a former domestic partner. She said she is now pressing vehicle-theft charges against him. An officer concluded the calls were not threatening and gave her advice.
WOODACRE A Railroad Avenue homeowner at 3:06 p.m. Saturday told deputies that $1,000 worth of financial documents had been taken from her house.
FOREST KNOLLS A Resaca Avenue resident at 4:47 p.m. Saturday notified deputies that two trees had fallen down on Aztec Drive. She said some tools were "stashed" behind the trees, which made her suspicious.
WOODACRE Deputies and medics responded when an insulin-dependent diabetic collapsed in the shower at 8:09 a.m. Friday. The victim lapsed into semi-consciousness but later was reported as "coming around." Medics transported the resident to a hospital.
FOREST KNOLLS A woman at 9:07 a.m. Friday complained that a silver-colored Volvo parked at Candalero Avenue and Montezuma Road was making the intersection impassable to any emergency vehicles that might try to get by.
POINT REYES STATION Medics transported an 81-year-old woman to Marin General Hospital after she suffered chest pains.
NATIONAL SEASHORE A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 12:21 p.m. Friday asked deputies to issue an "emergency protective order" against her husband because he had threatened her and their children. A deputy determined the situation did not qualify for an EPO. He noted she had asked a judge to issue a temporary restraining order against her husband, but the judge had yet to do so. The deputy gave the woman advice about dealing with harassing phone calls.
TOMALES A member of the high school staff at 2:08 p.m. Friday notified deputies that he had two students in his custody because they had been found with marijuana at the school. A deputy cited them on charges of possessing marijuana and cigarettes.
TOMALES A vehicle ran into a fence at Highway 1 and Tomales-Petaluma Road at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Nobody was injured, and the Highway Patrol handled the matter.
BOLINAS A Cedar Road resident at 4:06 p.m. Friday reported receiving a threatening call from another Bolinas man in violation of a court-issued retraining order. A deputy took a report.
MARSHALL The owner of a shellfish company at 8:52 p.m. last Thursday reported a former employee had stolen oysters from the company and sold them to restaurants. He said the former employee and his sons have taken to honking as they drive by and indulging in other harassing acts.
NICASIO A woman at 8:24 a.m. last Thursday told officers her 18-year-old son had shoved her into a chair and was harassing her. The altercation began, she said, when she objected to their taking a collect call from someone in Juvenile Hall.
MARSHALL A rancher at 10:31 a.m. last Thursday complained that her neighbors rottweilers had just attacked her cattle. The rancher said she had tried to talk with her neighbor about the womans dogs but got nowhere. A deputy gave the rancher advice, and said the Humane Society would contact her.

POINT REYES STATION The principal at 10:15 a.m. Friday reported that during the night a burglar forced open a classroom window at West Marin School and stole a laptop computer, leaving beer containers behind.
KENT LAKE A tow company at 1:08 p.m. Monday tried to remove a car left at the reservoirs dam. However, the company did not have the right equipment to reach the car, so the towtruck driver said he would return on Tuesday with different equipment.
MARSHALL An administrator of Walker Creek Ranch on the Marshall-Petaluma Road at 4:32 p.m. Monday reported that the county Office of Education had left "several" vehicles on the property, and the staff member asked deputies to have them towed away.
DILLON BEACH A man at 5:31 p.m. Monday called deputies from an Ocean View Avenue home to complain that at 45-year-old security guard driving a white truck had threatened him because he thought the man was driving too fast through Oceana Marin subdivision. A deputy spoke with the guard.
BOLINAS A deputy at 10:18 p.m. Monday helped the Humane Society remove a deer, which had been killed in traffic, from the pavement at Highway 1 and Horseshoe Hill Road.
OLEMA A woman at 7:57 p.m. Sunday reported hearing a child at the edge of the Point Reyes National Seashore screaming, "Help me! Help me!" A deputy could not find the child.
DILLON BEACH A woman on Park Avenue at 10:06 p.m. Sunday reported her 15-year-old son at 8:30 p.m. had gone outside, saying he was going to sit on a bench and play his guitar. She said she now could not find the youth either on the bench or anywhere else in the neighborhood.
NICASIO A man at 7:24 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that a white sports utility vehicle had run off Lucas Valley Road and into a creek a quarter mile east of Camino Margarita. The man said there was no one around the SUV, but its lights were on. A deputy assisted the Highway Patrol with traffic control.
WOODACRE A pregnant woman at approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday kicked in a French door at a house on Arroyo Road, where her former boyfriend (the man she says is father of her child) lives. After breaking into the house, the woman took some coat hangers and left. The resident told deputies this was the third time she had broken into his house and that she has a history of domestic violence toward him. A deputy confirmed officers had been summoned to deal with her previously. At 9:30 a.m. the next day, a deputy went to the Redwood Drive house where she was staying and arrested her on charges of felony vandalism and trespassing with force.
FOREST KNOLLS A Candalero Avenue resident at 10:34 a.m. Sunday notified deputies that seven or eight bicyclists wearing black pants were felling trees and cutting branches on Marin Municipal Water District land to turn a hiking trail into a mountain-bicycling trail. Deputies referred the matter to an MMWD ranger.
NICASIO A man at 2:15 p.m. Sunday reported that an old, brown vehicle was blocking his elderly mothers driveway off Lucas Valley Road. Deputies had the vehicle moved.
OLEMA A Sir Francis Drake Boulevard resident at 10:18 p.m. Saturday said her 63-year-old husband, who had been drinking, had fallen out of a chair and had been unconscious temporarily. He was now conscious, she said.
TOMALES Deputies and medics responded at 3:46 a.m. Sunday when a vehicle ran off Tomales-Petaluma Road and struck a power pole, causing a blackout. Deputies notified the Highway Patrol and PG&E.
INVERNESS A ranger at 9:42 a.m. Saturday told deputies he had been informed that a propane truck was blocking Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at Inverness Way. The truck was gone when a deputy arrived.
WOODACRE A Railroad Avenue resident at 10:55 a.m. Saturday asked a deputy whether the Valley was experiencing an upsurge in crime. She said she had heard that downtown. An officer said the "Valley was not undergoing a major increase."
FOREST KNOLLS A Cortez Avenue resident at 4:07 p.m. Saturday said she had received a fraudulent $66 check from a woman. When she tries calling the phone number on the check, no one answers, she said. The check was written in Corte Madera, so West Marin deputies took a report as a courtesy to Twin Cities Police.
DILLON BEACH A rancher on Valley Ford-Franklin School Road at 6:02 a.m. Saturday for the third week in a row complained about a tenant, this time saying the tenant was trespassing by riding an all-terrain vehicle on the ranch after being denied permission to do so. The tenants actions did not legally amount to trespassing, a deputy concluded.
STINSON BEACH A 70-year-old man on Alameda Patio at 7:43 p.m. Friday received the Heimlich Maneuver when he began choking on a large piece of meat. Once his breathing was normal, he refused further medical treatment.
FOREST KNOLLS A Tamal Road resident at 12:42 a.m. Saturday reported hearing male and female voices from a loud party, with someone yelling, "Get out of my face or Im going to mess you up."
WOODACRE Medics and deputies responded to Carson Road at 1:43 p.m. Friday when a boy accidentally shot another boy, 12, in the face with a pellet gun. Medics said the wound, which was below the right eye, was the size of a pellet. A deputy told the father of the boy who fired the gun that his son would be booked in Juvenile Hall.
OLEMA Deputies at 2:01 p.m. Friday received a report of a dark brown calf on Highway 1 a third of a mile north of Hagmaier Pond.
OLEMA A deputy at 9:18 p.m. last Thursday found a disabled blue Nissan car that had been carrying a man and woman. The officer determined the man was wanted in Sonoma County on warrants for possessing stolen property and failing to appear in court for a drunk-driving case. After arresting the man, the officer at 10:26 p.m. arrested the woman, 40, on charges of being drunk in public. However, after the woman sobered up, she was released from jail with no prosecution recommended.
SAN GERONIMO A Tamarack Drive resident at 12:41 p.m. last Thursday reported someone has stolen his identity, using his name to purchase items in San Francisco. West Marin deputies took a report as a courtesy to San Francisco Police.
WOODACRE A Fir Avenue resident at 8:43 p.m. New Years Eve reported hearing three shots behind her house, with the noise possibly coming from Sylvan Way. She said the shooting had stopped, and a deputy said he couldnt respond anyway because of bad road conditions.
MUIR BEACH A woman showed up in Point Reyes Station at 4:25 p.m. New Years Eve and reported that a 62-year-old man she lives with in Muir Beach had assaulted her, bruising her head and nose. Such behavior occurs when he drinks, she added. The man at 8:41 p.m. notified deputies that the woman was outside his house screaming at him. He said she had been evicted but wanted to stay one more night, saying she had no place to go. He suggested she stay at the hostel in the National Seashore. He told deputies he did not want her around his house. At 12:11 p.m. New Years Day, the man asked deputies to stand by while she removed her belongings from his house. At 2:47 p.m. he called for a second standby, saying she needed to remove more property.
HICKS VALLEY A passerby at 4:52 p.m. New Years Day turned over to county firefighters a mans wallet, which the passerby had found.
DILLON BEACH Deputies and firefighters responded at 12:35 a.m. New Years Eve when a woman on Ocean View Avenue reported her double gas burner was about to explode.
MARSHALL Firefighters at 10:09 a.m. New Years Eve were asked to cut up a eucalyptus tree that fell across Highway 1 at Nicks Cove. However, Caltrans did the work instead.
BOLINAS A Brighton Avenue resident at 8:32 p.m. New Years Eve complained about fireworks on the beach.
WOODACRE A resident on New Years Eve reported that a tall man was setting off fireworks in the vicinity of Carson Road and Railroad Avenue.
LAGUNITAS A man on Lagunitas Road at 9:24 p.m. New Years Eve reported hearing cherry bombs. A deputy could not find anyone setting off fireworks.
POINT REYES STATION Deputies at 4:06 p.m. New Years Eve received a report that a 67-year-old man had fainted and hit his head. Officers were told the man was breathing but unsteady on his feet.
POINT REYES STATION Sheriffs Lt. Rich Ginnodo, commander of the West Marin Substation, has asked The Light to let readers know that a campaign to remove abandoned cars is underway in West Marin. Lt. Ginnodo said the Sheriffs Office will arrange to have abandoned vehicles towed off private property, as well as public property, if the landowner signs a release. STINSON BEACH A Dipsea Road resident at 7:35 a.m. Christmas Eve reported someone had unsuccessfully attempted to make purchases over the Internet using a credit-card account she had closed. The "drop address" was in Richmond, deputies noted, and forwarded the information to their Investigations Division.
INVERNESS PARK A merchant at 7:35 a.m. Friday reported a burglar had broken into a storage area but had taken nothing.
SAN GERONIMO Deputies and medics responded when a woman reported that her 78-year-old mother, who has lung cancer and uses an oxygen tank, was having trouble breathing.
BOLINAS A resident at 9:30 a.m. Saturday said her husband was being "extremely aggressive" and had hit a flashlight on something near her head. She said a roommate was present.
NICASIO Medics and deputies responded when a resident at 11:27 p.m. Saturday said her husband was extremely drunk and "barely conscious." She added he was not aggressive.
FOREST KNOLLS A man at 2:25 a.m. Sunday complained that a neighbor had been playing "loud rap music" for "the last few hours." Deputies contacted 10 people at a neighboring residence, and they agreed to go home.
FOREST KNOLLS A 51-year-old resident, who has Hepatitis C, reported feeling "kind of weird" at 3:24 a.m. Sunday. He also said he had taken insulin at 12:30 a.m. and had a few drinks around 9 p.m.
NICASIO An ambulance was summoned to Nicasio Valley Road at 1:06 p.m. Saturday when a horse rolled on a 10-year-old boy. At first the child could not move, but his injuries eventually proved not to be major. Nonetheless, medics transported him to a hospital.
SAN GERONIMO Deputies assisted county firefighters at 1:23 p.m. Saturday when a fire broke out inside the wall of a structure on San Geronimo Valley Drive. Although a deputy noted he could see flames when he arrived, the fire proved to be small and was extinguished with only minor damage.
TOMALES Deputies at 1:55 p.m. Saturday received a report that three or four large, brown cows were on Highway 1, but officers could not find them. Officers at 6:01 received another call reporting a cow on Highway 1 in the area, but neither the Sheriffs Office nor the Highway Patrol could find it.
STINSON BEACH Deputies at 11:54 p.m. Friday received word that a mudslide at Highway 1 and Panoramic Highway had covered two thirds of the roadway. Officers notified the Highway Patrol.
OLEMA Firefighters at 8:35 a.m. Friday responded when an electrical transformer blew up.
WOODACRE A Central Avenue resident at 9:25 a.m. Friday reported that during the night a vandal had thrown a bottle through the rear window of his parked van.
TOMALES Firefighters closed the Tomales-Petaluma Road at 10:58 a.m. Friday after a cypress tree 40 inches in diameter fell onto the pavement at Cerini Road.
STINSON BEACH Caltrans at 4:11 p.m. Friday was asked to remove a large rock that fell onto Highway 1 near Red Rock nude beach.
WOODACRE A Park Street resident at 5:20 p.m. Friday told deputies he had heard a gunshot, possibly on Redwood Avenue. A woman walking her dog told a deputy she too had heard the shot but couldnt tell where the noise came from.
MARSHALL A resident at 11:11 a.m. Friday notified deputies that a burglar had broken into his vehicle and stolen checks. The resident said he had recently received a new drivers license but with someone elses photo on it. Someone is trying to steal his identity, the resident said.
INVERNESS PARK Deputies on Friday received a report that a 26-year-old man, who is on probation in Los Angeles County, had stopped taking his psychiatric medication although it is a requirement of his probation. Deputies were told the young man was at his fathers property, had a gun, and was angry. However, when officers questioned his father, the father himself became annoyed, they said.
BOLINAS A Cedar Road resident at 9:38 p.m. last Thursday complained about a neighbor practicing a base guitar "way too loud." He said he had contacted the guitarist to no avail, so he was asking a deputy to have the neighbor turn down the volume.
BOLINAS An Aspen Road resident at 10:16 p.m. last Thursday reported seeing a man with a flashlight wandering on her property.
POINT REYES STATION A deputy at 11:46 p.m. last Thursday reported seeing a drunk resident of Inverness Park leaving a bar. He arrested her on charges of public drunkenness.
INVERNESS PARK A man at 1:07 a.m. Friday reported a 54-year-old woman fell off the toilet and hit her head. She was not bleeding, he said, but was briefly unconscious. She finally regained consciousness but felt nauseous, he subsequently reported.
TOMALES Deputies at 4:03 p.m. last Thursday received a report that four Holstein cows were on Highway 1 near the Walker Creek bridge. Officers notified the Highway Patrol.
OLEMA Deputies and firefighters responded at 4:22 a.m. Christmas Day when a tree fell across Highway 1 two miles south of downtown. The downed tree was removed.
BOLINAS An Elm Road resident at 10:58 a.m. Christmas Eve complained that a woman was harassing her over a child-custody issue.
WOODACRE A San Geronimo Valley Drive resident at 11:17 a.m. Christmas Eve reported her boyfriend had thrown her down at her residence, had taken the oil filter off her car, had taken some of her money, and had left in a blue Toyota truck, heading toward Fairfax.
BOLINAS A merchant at 8:44 a.m. Sunday told deputies that during the night someone had damaged newly installed deadbolts at his business but had not managed to get inside.
DILLON BEACH A Valley Ford-Franklin School Road rancher at 9:33 a.m. Dec. 23 reported a 25-year-old man, who was temporarily living on his property, had torn it up with a motorcycle. He said this was an ongoing problem. The rancher said he had asked his attorney to secure a restraining order against the tenant. At 1:11 p.m., a relative of the rancher reported the tenant and a companion were tearing up the property with "four-wheelers" and asked that they be removed. He said the 25 year old is wanted on warrants in Sonoma County. On Dec. 22, the same relative complained that his son had just been assaulted by the 25 year old for the second time in two days.
HICKS VALLEY A Point Reyes-Petaluma Road rancher at 1:23 p.m. Dec. 23 reported three vehicles were parked at his gate and that people were trying to push a brown Ford pickup truck. He said the people may have damaged his fence. A deputy could not find any of the people but noted the truck had merely been moved to the side of the road.
WOODACRE A woman at 2:41 p.m. Dec. 23 reported a loud boom in the vicinity of Conifer Way and Fir Avenue. She told deputies she saw no evidence that an electrical transformer had blown up and that the noise sounded more "like a bomb or major firearm." A deputy could find nothing amiss.
STINSON BEACH A Belvedere Avenue resident at 2:42 p.m. Dec. 23 reported losing her cell phone two weeks earlier.
NICASIO A Los Piños resident at 8:50 p.m. Dec. 23 reported a piece of butcher block was missing from outside his house and that his Golden Gate Bridge FasTrak was missing from his car. He said he then taped $2 to a tree on his property to confirm a thief was at work, and the money was taken.
MUIR BEACH Deputies at 12:23 p.m. Dec. 23 received a 911-hangup call. When they called back, someone who didnt speak English answered the phone. Officers then went to the scene, where they found five adults and learned that a three year old had dialed 911.
SAN GERONIMO A woman at 2:32 p.m. Dec. 23 asked deputies how to get a court to issue a restraining order against a babysitter she had fired for "doing suspicious things" with her daughter. The sitter retaliated to being fired by filing a complaint against her with Child Protective Services, the caller said.
WOODACRE A man at 2:57 p.m. Dec. 23 reported he was quarreling with a woman over money. Deputies described both the man and woman as "uncooperative." An officer later reported that the man had left and that the woman was being "very condescending."
