March 2, 2006 Sheriff's Calls

OLEMA – The fire department at 8:40 p.m. Feb. 19 responded to a car accident involving a diabetic individual.

POINT REYES STATION – Medics at 1:20 a.m. Feb. 20 assisted a one-year-old toddler suffering from a high fever.

MARSHALL – A resident at 9:26 a.m. Feb. 20 called to follow up with a fax he had sent to the sheriff sub-station regarding "vehicles to be removed from his property."

BOLINAS – A house sitter at 9:34 a.m. Feb. 20 locked herself out of the residence she was taking care of and requested assistance in contacting the homeowners. The homeowners were contacted and the house sitter received another key.

LAGUNITAS – A woman who was checking on a home under repair at 12:56 p.m. Feb. 20 discovered the front and back doors "kicked in and damaged." The woman waited for deputies to arrive before checking the inside of the house.

POINT REYES STATION – Medics at 3:00 p.m. assisted a 69-year-old female suffering chest pains.

BOLINAS – A resident at 4:00 p.m. Feb. 20 sought advice regarding his girlfriend’s vehicle that "[kept] getting tagged for abatement." He was upset "because other vehicles [in the same area] had not been tagged." Advice given.

BOLINAS – A resident at 8:18 p.m. Feb. 20 notified deputies her ex-boyfriend had sent her a letter from jail, violated the restraining order she had filed against him.

WOODACRE – A tenant at 7:55 a.m. Feb. 21 complained that the landlord had cut power to her home and was preventing her from using their shared phone line. Deputies responded.

INVERNESS PARK – A resident at 1:12 p.m. Feb. 21 reported "fraudulent charges" on a credit card he hadn’t used in over a year.

INVERNESS – Medics at 1:56 a.m. Feb. 22 responded to a 29-year-old woman suffering from extreme abdominal pain.

SAN GERONIMO – A Lagunitas School Road resident at 12:17 p.m. Feb. 22 notified deputies that yesterday her "purse [had been] taken from her unlocked vehicle."

BOLINAS – Deputies at 3:21 p.m. Feb. 22 responded to a residence after a series of 911 hang-up calls were made. The residents had been drinking and were having a domestic dispute. Deputies arrested the boyfriend on misdemeanor domestic violence charges.

OLEMA – A restaurant employee at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 22 notified deputies that he had "kicked out an intoxicated [customer]" and the customer and another subject had driven away in a vehicle.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 8:44 p.m. Feb. 22 notified a woman that her boyfriend who had earlier been arrested for domestic violence had made bail and would be released soon.

POINT REYES STATION – A resident at 9:53 p.m. Feb. 22 complained of "loud machinery noise" in the neighborhood.

OLEMA – Deputies and CHP responded to a non-injury car accident. The car had driven into a telephone pole along Shoreline Hwy. five miles out of town.

WOODACRE – A resident at 10:54 a.m. Feb. 23 told deputies someone had "cut back her blackberry bushes a month ago against her wishes." Deputies advised.

WOODACRE – A tenant at 12:58 p.m. Feb. 23 reported returning home after a two-day absence to find her home boarded up. The landlord was not home. Deputies advised the tenant on this on-going problem.

DILLON BEACH – A resident at 4:11 p.m. Feb. 23 complained that two vehicles driven by juveniles were "doing donuts on the beach."

FOREST KNOLLS – A mother at 10:01 p.m. Feb. 23 reported her 14-year-old daughter was "out of control and hitting her." Deputies responded and counseled both parties

BOLINAS – A Brighton Ave. resident at 2:50 a.m. Feb. 24 complained of being woken up by a "group of people on the beach playing loud music."

WOODACRE – Medics at 10:35 a.m. Feb. 24 assisted a 61-year-old driver with chest pain and labored breathing.

WOODACRE – A woman at 11:54 a.m. Feb. 24 reported her husband "jumped on her car and threatened to file reports that she [was] unfit." The argument was related to their impending divorce. Deputies advised the woman.

BOLINAS – A Dogwood Road tenant at 3:26 p.m. Feb. 24 notified deputies that her residence had been burglarized within the last hour and a half. Someone had gained entry through an open window and taken $5000 worth of personal belongings. Deputies contacted the property owner who explained the tenant had been evicted and her belongings had been cleared out.

POINT REYES STATION – Medics at 4:32 p.m. Feb. 24 assisted a man in his 50’s with a history of heart attacks who was experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing.

BOLINAS – Deputies at 4:39 p.m. Feb. 24 responded to an argument between a man and a woman regarding a burglary that had occurred earlier in the day. The argument ended when one of the parties agreed to leave.

NICASIO – A resident at 7:15 p.m. Feb. 24 told deputies a man he knows has been making threatening remarks over the phone for the past two days. The caller was telling the resident that he was going to "get him." Deputies advised.

NICASIO – A caller at 10:56 p.m. Feb. 24 reported "an unknown substance on fire in the roadway" at Nicasio Lake and Pt. Reyes Petaluma Road. It appeared to be "wood pellets smoldering in the roadway."

BOLINAS – At 12:53 a.m. Feb. 25, three to four men who had been kicked out of a Wharf Road bar were "being belligerent" and were "possibly intoxicated." Deputies responded.

DILLON BEACH – A bonfire was left burning in a fire pit on the beach at 2:24 a.m. Feb. 25.

BOLINAS – A tenant requested advice regarding a landlord/tenant dispute. The landlord "had removed the tenant’s belongings after tenant sent a letter stating she had moved out of the house." Deputies explained to both parties the landlord is responsible to safeguard the belongings of the evicted tenant.

POINT REYES STATION – An unknown subject "punched out the front door window" of a Shoreline Hwy. restaurant. Six beers and approximately thirty CDs were taken. The subject also had "attempted to pry open the cash register." Deputies took a report at 9:22 a.m. Feb. 25.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Ave. resident at 9:29 a.m. Feb. 25 reported "several violations occurring with overnight campers on the beach."

SAN GERONIMO – A resident at 9:54 a.m. Feb. 25 sought advice regarding an on-going problem with "juveniles going onto [the resident’s] property to drink." Advice given and deputies agreed to provide extra patrol of the area.

MUIR BEACH – A resident at 1:16 p.m. Feb. 25 reported a "male subject in the marsh area" screaming "extremely loudly [with] lots of swearing and derogatory words towards Hispanic people." Deputies responded.

NICASIO – A caller at 2:11 p.m. Feb. 25 reported hearing five gunshots fired. Deputies checked the area.

POINT REYES STATION – An employee at 5:13 p.m. Feb. 25 reported her purse containing $1000, a cell phone, credit cards and a notebook were taken from behind the counter.

STINSON BEACH – At 7:35 p.m. Feb. 25, a resident whose wallet had been stolen and recovered called to ask deputies when her driver’s license would be returned to her. The resident was asked to call in the morning to speak to the deputy who had assisted her.

INVERNESS PARK – A resident at 11:14 p.m. Feb. 25 notified deputies of a group of approximately twenty teenagers in a parking lot along Laurel Street. The teens were "speeding in the parking lot and being loud." Deputies responded.

SAN GERONIMO – a resident at 11:16 p.m. Feb. 25 reported a suspicious car "speeding through the school" parking lot and doing donuts. Deputies responded.

WOODACRE – At 11:49 p.m. Feb. 25, a resident notified deputies she had heard a gun shot but "it could have been a car backfiring."

WOODACRE – A resident at 8:37 a.m. Feb. 26 sought advice from deputies regarding a neighbor who was leaving her 12-year-old autistic son home alone.

BOLINAS – A Brighton Ave. resident at 10:12 a.m. Feb. 26 informed deputies of three people who were living on the beach.

INVERNESS – A Via De La Vista resident at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 26 reported her 10-foot tall huckleberry bushes had been cut down.

FOREST KNOLLS – A resident at 5:14 p.m. Feb. 26 requested assistance in getting a homeless man to leave his property. Deputies responded.

STINSON BEACH – Neighbors at 10:10 p.m. Feb. 26 complained of "loud amplified music." Deputies responded and discovered two middle-aged men "playing guitar and reminiscing about the past."
